I ran across the wet pavement as the orange hand flashed at me, my boots thumping, and the peppermint latte’s sloshing in the Starbucks cups as I held the drink carrier in one hand.

“Don’t trip, don’t trip,
don’t trip.” I chanted as I hurried along, swinging my unruly purse higher on my shoulder as I did so.

I hopped up onto the sidewalk just as the light turned and the
first cars began to cross the road, the sun was just coming up in muted orange and pink against the partially cloudy sky.

“Didn’t trip.”
I laughed at myself, smiling at the receptionist as I pulled the heavy glass door of the building before me open.

“Hey Chaste.”
The receptionist, Alma said as I entered in a swirl of chilly air.

“Hey doll.” I smiled at her
, and sat one of the Latte’s on the desk as I crossed the pretty yellow lobby, warm with Christmas decorations and an elegant tree decorated purely in silver and white, and stepped into the elevator.

“Thank you!” She called and I waved at her before the door slid closed.

I sipped my hot coffee as I waited on the elevator to rise to the top floor, it was way early, not even seven thirty yet, but this shoot was supposed to be over before dinner so everyone could get back home to their families. The doors slid open and I stepped onto the shiny white laminate flooring, my boots clapping loudly in the empty apartment.

“I hear feet!” Someone called from the kitchen.

I walked in and placed my things down on the long breakfast bar and a beautiful man with short, stylish curly hair came waltzing around the open half wall holding his hands out to me. He wasn’t an inch taller than I was, and I thought he would almost seem tiny if he weren’t so buff, he kissed my cheeks, holding my hands in his.

You must be Chaste.” He sang, a quirky little smile tugging at the corner of his mouth before he clasped his hands flamboyantly under his chin and gazed at me.

“Yes.” I sighed, grinning at him before I took another sip of my coffee.

“You are sublimely beautiful, girl. I’m a big fan of your
Peril Girls
spread, the one with the guns…
Gawd!
  It was fantastic. ”

“Wow, thank you…” I said, and shifted my weight from one foot to the
other, I never really knew how to respond to people complementing my nude photo shoots.

“You’re nervous?” He asked
, his tight mauve shirt hugged his sculpted biceps and accentuated his crisp green eyes.

“Yes, very.” I replied, looking around at the familiar surroundings with new nerves in my stomach.
I felt as if I hadn’t been in this room a hundred times before.

“Don’t be, you’re working with someone great today.” He said, almost conspiratorially. “This is your first video shoot right?” He asked.

“Yeah.” I looked down at my coffee, and circled the lid with my finger.

“Well don’t you worry honey, Jesse James is the best there is.” He winked, and I smiled gratefully at him.
The name was familiar to me, but I couldn’t place it.

“What time is he supposed to be here?” I asked.

“Oh, I’m always early; everyone should start to show up within the next few minutes. Feel free to use the facilities to freshen up if you want to. Then meet me in the bathroom for hair and… well, we will just touch up the makeup you’ve already got on, I’m Anthony.” He winked before taking a small box from the counter behind him and sashaying out of the kitchen.

I took my bag and pulled my coat back on, taking a small Virginia super slim out of its dainty pack and stepping out onto the back patio. I
lit my cigarette and watched as more cars crawled into the streets. I pulled up my latest read on my Kindle, and took another drag while I devoured Anne Rice’s intoxicating words. I turned when I heard the glass door behind me slide open, and then softly closed.

“Hey.” He said as he cupped his palm around his lighter and lit his cigarette
, glancing at me briefly.

“Hi.” I said, sweeping one of my huge curls behind my ear before turning back to my book.

He sauntered over, one hand tucked into his jeans pocket, pinching the cigarette between his thumb and index finger, one eye squinted, and I couldn’t help but snicker.

“What?” He asked exhaling his smoke, one side of his mouth turning into a smile.

“Nothing.” I said.
Who is he Johnny Cash or something?
I thought to myself, shaking my head and fighting the urge to roll my eyes.

“What are you reading?” He ask
ed, stepping closer to me and his fresh cologne wafted over in the breeze.

“Anne Rice.” I replied, dragging
on my slim and French inhaling quickly.

“What is
that
?” He asked, laughing.

“She’s a writer, one of my favorites.” I replied dryly.

“No, I know who Anne Rice is.” He laughed. “I meant what are you smoking?” He motioned to my hand and I noticed a sprinkling of dark hair on his arms.

I looked at my little slim, “It’s a cigarette.” I said.

“You could have fooled me.” He kidded.

When I didn’t reply he stepped right beside me, and placed his forearms on the concrete slab that enclosed the balcony. “You know, this will all be a lot easier if you let me try to be nice.” He said softly
looking down while scuffing the tip of his shoe on the wall, and I whipped my head to face him.

“Oh God, I’m sorry,
I don’t mean to be a bitch, I’m just…”

“Nervous.” He said, taking a deep pull from his Marlboro and gazing
out at the freeway. He had an attractive profile, and long eyelashes.

“I’ve never done a video shoot before.” I said
, exiting my book and tucking my Kindle back into my coat.

“I know.” He said, turning his eyes to me and smiling
kindly.

He was handsome, in
a non-male-porn-star kind of way. He didn’t have huge bulging muscles, or a super fake tan. He was more the bad boy type than the all star athlete type. He was the guy in high school who picked you up on a motorcycle that he built in his garage with his father. I half expected to look down at the street and see one parked out there.

“How does everyone know this?” I asked, more to myself than him. “Jerry is going to get it.”
I said, lighting my second slim and laughing bitterly.

“I don’t know any Jerry, but I do know that you’re Chaste Meridian,
you came to LA for college, and after you got your degree you decided to stay and do erotic modeling, and everyone has been trying to get you to do films for the last year, since your bondage shoot for
Peril Girls
.” He said, his greenish blue eyes glittered at me, his full lips pulled into an attractive smirk as my brow furrowed, how’d he know so much about me?

I looked you up.” He said almost guiltily and then winked and added, “But I’d seen you before, you came to the Adult Filmography Awards for the Peril shoot and I saw you with Anessa Vixen signing autographs at a booth.”

I heard commotion behind me and turned to look into the large open room through the sliding glass door. There was an entire team of men, and
a couple women setting up lights.

I opened my mouth to
say something but my words were caught, and a sudden attack of nerves washed over me again. I imagined having sex with this stranger in front of all these other strangers, and while it had excited me earlier, I was now filled with trepidation.
I should have asked Anessa to come with me.
I thought.

“What…” I swallowed, and forced myself to pull my eyes away from the apartment. “What’s your name?” I asked
, turning back to him.

Jesse.” He said easily glancing at the people behind us. I raised an eyebrow, I was hoping for his real name.

“You don’t get nervous do you
Jesse?” I laughed, but it sounded more agonizing than anything.

“No
. Why, are you nervous?” He propped his forearms on the concrete and leaned over it before he turned and raised an eyebrow at me.

“Look, could you maybe, I don’t know, tell me something nice about yourself, or flirt with me or something?” I asked.

“You want me to flirt with you?” He asked.

Come on, really Chastity? Be a professional.
I thought before exploding into nearly indecipherable babble.

“Well, not really, just like… can we get into character now so that I can warm up to you, I don’t even know you and I was really excited to come in and do this earlier
because I’ve been doing modeling for a while now and well it was time for a change and this seemed to be the natural step forward but since I got here and started thinking about it it’s really a lot more than I’d anticipated and I-“

Jesse
flicked his cigarette over the side of the balcony, before wrapping his arms about my waist and crushing me to his front, bowing me back until my hair dangled over the balcony, his left knee was between my legs, his warm thigh firmly planted against my pubic bone, and surprisingly my pussy began to throb. The action was so swift and sudden that it caught me off guard and for a moment I could only stare at his face as his lips pressed against mine, massaging them gently, but never separating them. He had clear, light olive skin, and curly brown hair that came down into attractive sideburns along his distinguished jaw which was dusted with carefully manicured stubble. He had a long nose and a noble brow that made it seem like he’d stepped right out of an old Hollywood movie and into this decade. When he pulled away from me, his blue-green eyes were sparkling and he smirked at me before putting his thumb on my chin and tipping it up a little.

“You’ll be fine.” He said
kindly, and then released my chin before he turned to go back inside.

I pulled the outrageously thick green panty hose up my thighs, hopping and fighting to get them in place, they came up nearly to my breasts. I rolled my eyes and let my exhausted arms sag at my side for a moment as I stared into the mirror and removed my bra. My cheeks were glowing, flushed with excitement, and trepidation, I closed my eyes and placed my hands on the small sink. I took several cleansing breaths before I righted myself and made sure the lines of my hose were lined up perfect before securing my little black flats, and pulling the green dress over my head. The sexy little elf dress hugged me everywhere, but I laughed when I looked in the mirror.
Did they raid Peter Pan’s closet?
The thought lifted my spirits, and I felt a small bit of relief. I plopped the green Santa hat on my head, its white ball dangled at my ear and I shook my head and pursed my lips as I gazed at myself in the mirror.
Everyone’s gotta start somewhere.

I hurried into the great room, there were several people waiting for me, and I apologized
while I tried to keep the elf hat on my head. Jesse was standing with his arms across his chest, talking to a stout man in a baseball cap, with a ruddy, but friendly look to him. One ankle was draped over the other as he leaned his shoulder against the wall and nodded, focused on what the man was saying. I was just able to make out the end of what he told Jesse.

“She’s going to be nervous
. No matter how many pictures she’s done, she hasn’t had sex with any of her co-workers on camera yet. Just play on that and make her as comfortable as you can.”

Jesse’s
eyes slid over to mine briefly before they returned to the man speaking to him, I couldn’t hear anything more that he said, and with a final nod and words of understanding Jesse slipped away.
