“No need to be on edge. This is what is going to happen. The three of us will feed off of you, and then you will feed off of us. This way you will absorb a part of our powers and us in a sense. Corbin had planned this for a very long time; we thought he was insane until we actually saw you. It won’t hurt and you will become even stronger” Annabelle said.  Lillian sensed Alicia and Angelic at her sides. She knew that this had to be done and she closed her eyes. Each of the girls found a vein; Alicia and Angelic began to feed off of Lillian’s wrists while Annabelle fed from the jugular vein. Lillian’s head began to swim but she didn’t collapse like the time Brandon fed off her. Her body was on fire and felt at peace. She was starting to become weak and the triplets stopped feeding off of her, now it was her turn to feed.

The triplets lined up, and one by one she fed off of them. Their blood was like liquid fire and Lillian was now becoming dizzy. Each one had a different taste and yet they all had the same memories. She felt as if she had drunk them dry but she was only able to drink for a few seconds, their blood was too strong. Once she fed off the last triplet, her head was spinning. She felt like she was drunk and in fact she was. Their strength and power was now mixed with her own as well as Brandon’s. Annabelle told her to draw out three victims, one by one and feed on them until she felt she would explode from their blood. Lillian nodded her head and walked further ahead of the girls to draw her first victim out.

A young caramel skinned male was the first. He had on a baseball hat that was on backwards, a simple shirt and pants and a gold cross hanging from a chain around his neck. Lillian drew him even closer, and before he could blink she had ripped his throat open and drank him almost dry. Once she was done she glared at him and his body burst into flames and then became a pile of ashes. The triplets could not believe what they had just seen; Corbin was the only one they had ever seen do that. The second victim made their presence known. This was a young and strong male. He was dressed in all black and Lillian knew he was a cruel person, she could sense it. He was just inches in front of her and Lillian showed her fangs. He ran and Lillian chased him. She hid behind trees and when he was nearby she would jump out and yell “Boo” only for him to scream and run away again. This game of cat and mouse went on for almost an hour when Lillian finally decided to put an end to it. The poor guy ran right into her arms and she sunk her fangs in him and consumed his life’s blood in three hearty swallows. Just like she did with the first victim, he was also turned into a pile of ash. Her third and final victim was another runaway, a young girl who was as thin as a rail. You could see each one of her ribs and her eyes were dark and clouded over. Lillian approached the wretched creature and wrapped her arms around her. The young girl gave herself over willingly, and Lillian took her time feeding. She cherished her blood and then all of her victims’ memories flooded into her. Lillian had her fill and slowly laid the young girl on the ground. Lillian stared at the lifeless girl, and just like the others, she became a pile of ashes.

Lillian was now standing in front of the triplets smiling at their expressions. The triplets grabbed her and hugged her telling her how amazing she was and how proud Corbin would be. A clapping sound from behind them broke their chatter, and there stood Corbin with a beautiful yet sinister smile on his face.

“You are far more exceptional than I had ever imagined, Lillian. Tomorrow night you will hunt with Dagan and Damien. With each transfer of their blood into you, it will not only make you stronger, but will prepare you for when you and I exchange our blood. I have high hopes for you and you will rule by my side” Corbin said as he held out his hand. Lillian was instantly in front of Corbin, taking his hand and together they waked back to the club with the triplets skipping behind them.

Corbin and Lillian were walking into the club as the triplets were still right behind them. As they entered the club all eyes were on Lillian and Corbin. The powerful blood of the triplets had changed her even more than Brandon’s did. She was now almost as pale as Corbin, and she had radiance to her flesh as well. Her black hair was now even shinier and her eyes had become a very pale blue. She was beautiful and everyone couldn’t help but stare. Corbin smiled as his new paramour was at his side. She was radiant and walked with pride and elegance. The more ancient blood she drank, the more she would transform into the perfect vampire bride. He knew that things were going to fall into place and he was happy. Corbin turned his glance over at the triplets and smiled at them. He beckoned them to join him and Lillian upstairs for the night and the girls were immediately at his side. Corbin kissed each one on their nose and they all giggled in unison. Corbin held his arm out as the triplets went up the stairs to where Lillian and the twins Dagan and Damien were sitting. Corbin was the last one up and he frowned as he saw Lillian sitting in the far corner.

“Lillian my love, your place is by my side from this moment on, now, please take your rightful place” Corbin said as he sat down. Lillian smiled and walked over to where her new place was, to the right of the oldest vampire anyone has ever known. Once she was seated, all eyes were on Corbin. Corbin held them all in suspense before he spoke, and when he did that was the only sound that they heard.

“Brandon will not be harmed as of yet. He is sour because Lillian is now mine, and I do not blame him. He was a pawn in the game. I sacrificed him in order to get to the queen. See my children, life, immortality is like a game of chess, it is all about strategy. I have been looking at the board for centuries, timing my every move just right. I knew this day would come and I knew when, but during that time I had to make moves with strategic skill. I have chosen each and every one of you for reasons. I assist you when you have chosen to make your own fledgling, and even though you would ignore my best judgment, I still allowed it to be done. When they went insane or made a mess of things, I destroyed them so you didn’t have too. I do this and all the things I do for you out love. You are my children and I will do what I must to protect and teach you. Immortality is something that many cannot handle and they end up throwing themselves into the sun. Being an immortal is a gift and many who have received do not deserve it! You will see those walk on the streets. It makes me sick, and when I see them, I end their pathetic existence right after I find out who the idiot was that made them. I do not like to kill my own kind, but at times it must be done. Now Dagan, Damien, I know you both hated Brandon from the start, but if either of you so much as harm him, I will make your suffering so great that you will beg for death. Now with that being said, I already know what he is planning on doing, and it will start a war.”

They all stared at Corbin as he said these words and knew that he told the truth. Corbin smiled at them all, and with that smile all the tension that was there vanished. Corbin reached over and took Lillian’s hand and turned to look at her. He told her it was time for them all to take their leave for the night and sleep, and that tonight she was to slumber in a coffin next to his. Lillian nodded her head and watched as the others left to their private chambers. Corbin helped her to her feet and together they walked to his quarters. Corbin’s chambers were twice the size of Brandon’s and were much more elegant. Paintings from every century lined the walls, heavy black drapes covered the five windows and in the center there were two ivory coffins. The thought of sleeping in a coffin had her on edge, but one small kiss from Corbin set her fears at ease. He opened the lid of her new coffin, took her hand and helped her lay inside. He told her there was nothing to fear and that he would be right next to her and she would hear his voice inside her head until she slipped into slumber. Lillian nodded her head and watched as he closed the lid to the coffin. Just as Corbin promised, his voice was in her head, telling her the stories of his past. His voice was so soothing that in no time she was in a deep sleep. The last thought she had before she slipped into the darkness was of Corbin holding her hand as they walked together down a moonlight path. Lillian was safe with this group, safer than she felt being with Brandon, but she was worried about what Brandon was planning on, and what about this war that Corbin talked about? Could Brandon have the power to start a war? Would her new family suffer or even die in the process? Time would only tell, but for now all was as it should be and everything was perfect.

Brandon was in his crypt in a rage! He knew that he would not be able to destroy Corbin alone, so decided to call for help. He blocked his thoughts from Corbin and telepathically sent out a message to the immortals that he knew hated Corbin for one reason or another. He was amazed at how many had replied to him, and in less than an hour he had an army of twenty immortals who were willing to be a part of his plan. Corbin had made many enemies since he was first brought over into darkness, but only few remained. Corbin’s psychic ability was intense and he was able to destroy any who thought of doing him harm. Soon those who disliked him stopped thinking about him, and those were the ones that were still walking the earth. Brandon thought that his blocking his thoughts worked, but Corbin lay in his coffin listening to their entire plan as it began to unfold. Corbin smiled and soon he fell into his slumber, he knew that war would begin and he had to prepare his coven and call for another ancient to assist him.

Lillian awoke from her slumber just as Corbin was removing the lid of her coffin. Her eyes were wide open from fright and as soon as she saw Corbin’s face she was at ease. Corbin took her hand and assisted her in getting out of her coffin.

“How did you sleep?”

“Like the dead actually, but I am not sure if I like waking up in a coffin.”

“It does take some getting used to, but I am old fashioned I guess. If you prefer a bed I can arrange one to be brought in for you Lillian.”

‘‘Let me try this out a few more times, I don’t want you to go through any trouble Corbin.”

“For you my love, I would do anything that you wished. Now let us get dressed for the evening and tonight you will hunt with the Dagan and Damien.”

Lillian smiled and went to the wardrobe to choose her outfit for the evening. She chose a simple black sweater a pair of blue jeans along with a pair of black boots. Corbin nodded his head in approval and together they went to meet up with the twins. Lillian noticed that the triplets were out on the dance floor, swaying their bodies with the music laughing and talking with each other. Dagan and Damien both smiled and asked her if she was ready and she said that she was. Corbin kissed Lillian on her nose and she left with the twins. Once again they went out to the cemetery to find their evening meal. Lillian had just stepped out of the door when her heightened senses took over. The blood had made her even more powerful and all she smelt was blood, she heard every thought of every mortal and it was almost too much. She had to grab onto Damien to keep from falling to her knees. Dagan told her that she would get used to it very soon, with each blood transfusion and each feeding she will become stronger and be able to control it. Lillian nodded her head and they continued on their way.

Not even five feet into the cemetery, three young men were sluggishly walking towards them. The twins were amazed as they looked at Lillian. Her face was calm, her eyes were black as night, and her skin was so white it was glowing. She was like an angel, an angel of death. Dagan walked up to one of the young men and wrapped his arms around him, telling him that it was his time to pay for all the wrong that he has done, that death has found him. The young man did not say a word, a tear was running down his face and he closed his eyes. Dagan rolled his eyes and without warning, he ripped the young man’s throat out. The arterial spray resembled a water fountain and Dagan drank it as such. Lillian could not believe how cruel Dagan fed from his victims. He treated them as cattle. Dagan dropped the young man to the ground, and stomped his corpse into a bloody pulp. Lillian scowled and used her power to burn the body until it was a pile of ash.

Now it was Damien’s turn to feed. He selected his prey and did not attempt to speak to him. He grabbed his victim by his head, twisted it completely around and yanked it off. Just as his brother did, he drank the blood as if it was flowing from a fountain. His tongue flickered over and over and then he closed his mouth on the artery and drank in heavy gulps. Lillian was disgusted by the entire display and she made it known to them both. Once Damien was done he did as his brother did and stomped the corpse, well it was more like a dance, but the end result was the same. Lillian was in a rage and in a second she had both twins by their throats, and she ripped into Dagan first. She tore his throat the same way he did to his victim and she fed. Then she ripped into Damien next. By the time she was done feeding off of Damien, Dagan’s wound was healed and he was sitting on the floor in a daze. She finished with Damien and his wound was healing as well. She was so filled with rage that she reached out and grabbed the last victim by his throat and pulled him close to her. He was in such a hypnotic state that his mind was empty. Lillian kissed him, then ripped him apart, limb from limb. She did not feed off of him at all. She wanted to destroy a human life, to destroy something beautiful, and she did just that. With a blink of an eye, Dagan and Damien were tossed against a tombstone and the last victim was turned into ashes.
