“Little girl, it’s a game. I didn’t do anything wrong and we’ll prove it. Hell, it’ll probably never go to trial. Ernest is the best,” James told me. I still wasn’t satisfied.

“But what if that doesn’t happen? What if your fans turn on you?” I asked.

“I’ll take your lead on that. I told Ernest to write up a statement and call a press conference. I’m going to deny the charges like you did. That’s turned out pretty good for you, hasn’t it?” James reminded me. He was right. After my press conference a couple of weeks back, the fans, especially the LGBT fans, responded well. It didn’t seem as if they cared if I was bisexual, lesbian or whatever, but my vocal support won over a lot of people. Some fans seemed offended someone would try to use my sexuality to smear me. I’d spoken to several lesbians at Battery’s shows that were offended by the idea that being a lesbian or bisexual was somehow salacious or deviant.

I didn’t blame them. My admission and the stand I’d taken had endeared me to Battery’s LGBT fans, though some of the women were disappointed I wasn’t playing for the other team, so to speak. Maybe James had a point. Maybe this would all go away. We did have the truth on our side and Ernest was a good lawyer. He’d make sure we had the time to clear James and hopefully implicate Sylvia and Victoria. I had a feeling this wasn’t going to go away quietly though. I wasn’t sure what drove Victoria other than vanity and pride to do this, but I was pretty sure she wouldn’t stop willingly. She would continue until James and I were ruined or we managed to stop her.

“I’m just sick and tired of all this. Tabloids and ex-wives are one thing, but this could ruin you. Maybe that’s not likely but it’s a possibility. It scares me,” I replied.

“Well, I’d be lying if I told you I wasn’t concerned. I am. However, I’m mad too and I’m going to fight. I called the private investigator on the way home for the police station. He’s going to meet us tomorrow,” James said.

“How do you know this guy? Is he a friend or something?” I wondered.

“He works cases like this. He’s good and has a reputation for doing what needs to be done. I met him when he was working for Barbara. He asked me some questions. He’s a fan and he offered his services if I ever needed them,” James told me. Barbara was James’ neighbor but I’d never met her. Just then our food came. James ordered a rib eye and I got a petite filet minon. As usual, we ordered a big bowl of mac and cheese, the best thing on the menu at James’ steak house. I was so worked up I didn’t realize how hungry I was.

We enjoyed the meal trying to forget about all the drama. The food helped me forget, at least temporarily. After we were finished, Monica came in and James asked her to take a seat. He treated the employees at his steakhouse like family and they all seemed to love him. James wanted to explain the situation, though it was common knowledge after the tabloid reports were picked up by the local and even national news.

“James, no one believes it. Were all behind you,” Monica told him.

“Thanks, that helps a lot. I knew I could count on you, Monica,” James said, stood and called her over. He gave Monica a big bear hug and then I hugged Monica too.

“Thank you, Monica,” I told her. She was a sweetheart, the heart and soul of James’ restaurant I’d come to learn. She ran the whole operation and ran it well.

“Once you prove your innocent, we’ll throw a party here for the whole band,” Monica offered.

“No, no. We’ll close this place for a night and you’re all invited to Malibu for a pool party,” James countered. Monica blushed but seemed excited. She must have heard of James’ rule that you had to be nude in the pool. James caught her embarrassment and said, “I’ll rescind the nudity rule.”

“Don’t you dare, James Turner,” Monica said. James laughed and hugged Monica again. As they parted, Monica added, “It’s not every day a girl gets to party naked with rock stars.”

“Deal!” James assured Monica. Monica needed to get back to work and James and I were ready to return home. I felt better despite the black cloud hanging over us. In fact, I was feeling the way I was before we found the police cruiser waiting for us that morning. I wanted to be alone with James. Sex with him would be nice but more than anything, I just wanted to be alone with him. We wound up in his hot tub, naked of course, sipping sparkling water with lemon while James puffed on a cigar.

“You ever wonder what life would be like without all this shit going on?” James asked suddenly.

“What do you mean?” I replied.

“It seems like we’ve been dealing with stuff almost constantly since we met,” he explained.

“Oh, so it’s my fault,” I accused playfully.

“I’ve always known you were trouble, little girl,” James teased. He had a point. What would life be like without all of the drama? Boring? Unlikely considering I was living with a rock star.

“You want to take a shower?” I asked suddenly and completely seriously.

“What? Why?” James asked.

“I thought maybe I could drop the soap,” I told him suggestively. James knitted his brow in confusion for a moment but then he began to laugh as he got my little prison sex joke.

“You’re a sicko. I like that,” James said and climbed from the tub. He offered me his hand and added, “I just wish I had an orange jumpsuit you could wear.” I giggled and followed James inside. We ended up in his big, marble shower. We soaped one another up and then I took the hand held showerhead and rinsed James off as I dropped to my knees. I used water to stimulate his already hard cock before I took James into my mouth and began sucking him. James leaned back and let me do my work, pleasuring him as I slipped the showerhead between my thighs.

That didn’t last long, however. After a while, I abandoned James’ hard shaft and got to my feet. I took the bar of soap from the shelf in the corner of the shower, held it up and then dropped it. “Oops! Looks like I dropped my soap. I’d better pick it up,” I said as I turned around and bent over wiggling my ass. I heard James growl as his hands took my slender hips in his big, strong hands and he sank his cock into my all too willing pussy. “I’m telling the guards!” I teased as I looked over my shoulder at James.

“You do that,” James said and roughly began to fuck me. I braced myself against the walls of the shower as James hammered away. I felt the tension build, all the stress and worry begging to be let out. Suddenly I came, the pleasure deep and satisfying. I screamed out as I felt the same feeling in James’ thrusts. He let go of his anger and frustration as he fucked me and I was happy to let him. It felt amazing. James took my hair in one hand and tugged at it as he slammed his thick shaft into me. I felt another climax well up and wash over me. I also felt James swell within me.

“Just fucking do it,” I urged him. James fucked me even harder as my third climax sent its warm sensations though me. I wailed as James growled and filled me with his powerful orgasm. I began to laugh and James joined me as he finished inside of me, our stress and anxiety temporarily relieved. As our orgasms faded, James withdrew from me, and pulled me up and into his arms.

“I couldn’t do this without you, Simone,” he whispered into my ear. I turned my head and kissed him. James rarely called me Simone, preferring to call me his little girl. It made his words take on a deeper meaning.

“I couldn’t either,” I told him as we moved under the showerhead mounted to the wall. We let the warm water wash over us as if it could wash away our troubles. It couldn’t but for the moment, the water soothed the wounds. “I love you, James. We’ll beat this and we’ll see what life without drama is like,” I told him.

“I love you too, little girl,” James replied and held me even tighter.

“Nice to meet you Mr. Malone,” I said after James introduced me to his private investigator. He was neither young nor old but he had an edge to him. He wore a dark suit and thin tie and only pulled his sunglasses off after entering the house. He took my hand and shook it before we retired to James’ office to talk.

“Call me Phil,” he said as we settled in and then asked, “So, I’m aware of the situation but what are the details?” James and I told him the entire tale from the beginning. From the day we met in the boardroom at Roland Talent to James firing Victoria. From Sylvia’s tricks to the meddling with my talent agent license. From the specifics of each of our tabloid appearances to our suspicions that Vicky was behind it all. “So who is The Fraulein?” Phil asked after we were finished.

“That’s James’ not so affectionate term for Victoria,” I told him.

“That makes sense now. Well, I’ve got some good news. Victoria likely has other’s involved. She’s probably either paid them off or has something on them to compel them to go along with her plans. In any case, they likely aren’t very loyal to her. I agree the licensing board was probably an inside job. Sylvia, probably through Victoria, had a photographer ready to catch the action by the pool. I’m afraid that when James grabbed her, that was a bonus. They likely were planning on exposing a supposed affair, not accusing James of assault. Sylvia’s injuries are likely phony too. We are in Hollywood, after all,” Phil explained. He seemed to have a good grasp of the situation.

“So what now?” James asked.

“I’ll start looking for the people Victoria has working for her and either offer them more than she’s paying or impress upon them the legal ramifications of lying and fraud. That will cause most of them to crack and expose Victoria. She doesn’t come off as clever. This smells of desperation. I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s more to this than meets the eye,” Phil told us. We discussed expenses and payment. James told Phil to do what he needed to do. Money was no object.

Phil promised to update us on his progress within a day or so. He was a no nonsense guy and I wouldn’t be surprised if he had managed to expose the truth within a week. I felt better having a guy like him on our side. James had another leg of his tour upcoming, four shows in the southeast, but we decided it would be best if I stayed behind. The press was well aware of the situation now and Phil might need more information. I wanted to go, but James was the talent. He needed to be there, I didn’t. I used the opportunity to hang out with Josie, who couldn’t make this leg of the tour either.

“I’m sorry about James and all that shit. Damn, girl. What’s wrong with that bitch?” Josie offered referring to Vicky.

“She’s nuts! That’s all I’ve got. It will all turn out all right,” I replied as we walked through the mall. Josie smiled over at me reassuringly.

“Yeah, I’m praying for you guys. So, you’re probably not in the mood to hear this. I wanted to call and tell you but with all that bullshit going on I didn’t want to seem like I was rubbing salt in the wound,” Josie said. I wasn’t sure what she was talking about.

“What do you mean?” I asked.

“I’ve got some good news. I just didn’t want to tell you while you were dealing with all this,” Josie explained. I could use some good news. I was feeling better about the whole situation with The Fraulein but good news couldn’t hurt.

“Tell me. It’s fine,” I told Josie. She stopped me as we walked and moved to face me.

“Tommy and I got married in Vegas a couple of days ago during the tour break,” she said and waited expectantly.

“Ha ha, you’ve used that one before. So what’s the real good news?” I asked her. She pulled this joke on me the day after she met Tommy. Fool me once, shame on me, fool me twice…then Josie flashed the rock on her finger I had failed to notice up until them. I wasn’t looking for it and honestly, my mind was preoccupied. “You’re serious?” I asked still not entirely believing Josie was telling the truth.

“I’m not joking this time. We got married in a chapel. It was spur of the moment, but I’ve never felt like this before. I’m in love, girl,” Josie told me. I felt faint. Oh my God, I knew they were getting closer and there was a spark between them. Josie had mentioned it more than once over the weeks since they met. But marriage? Wow!

“I’m speechless, Josie,” I said being honest. I was caught off guard and wasn’t sure how I felt. Part of me was shocked that even Josie would do something so rash. Another part was thrilled and little jealous. I would love to run away with James like she did with Tommy. However, that wasn’t our path. I decided just to be happy for my friend. If she was happy, so was I.

“I thought you might be more excited,” Josie said looking dejected.

“Hey, I am. You totally surprised me. I’m trying to wrap my head around this. I’m happy for you. I mean it,” I said.

“Yeah?” Josie asked.

“Yeah,” I said with a big smile and hugged her. “A little disappointed too. I wish I could have been there,” I added.

“It was sudden. We both agreed we had to have a ceremony with the band and our families but we didn’t want to wait,” Josie told me. I was still trying to digest the news but it was pretty exciting. Tommy was as important to Battery as James, Chad or Benny, but James wasn’t just the lead singer and rhythm guitarist. James was the leader and the business brains of the band. While the band and their music made them a popular metal band, James’ leadership turned them into a worldwide sensation, a household name and had made the members wealthy. James did it willingly but it came with a price.

Tommy could concentrate on his craft and just being Tommy. James had to wear several hats and as the face of the band, he had to deal with the consequences of the band’s actions as well as his own. That’s what we were doing now. James’ insistence that I be Battery’s manager, in part because he was hot for me, had led to all this. I couldn’t help but feel responsible but I know it was really Vicky. Whatever we’d done to her didn’t warrant the way she was trying to destroy us. The more I considered that, the less sense it made. There had to be more.

“Hey, we should celebrate. Let’s go get lunch, wherever you want on me. Somewhere with a kick butt dessert selection though,” I offered.

“Ooh, I like that. But I don’t want dessert. I want some mac and cheese,” she said. Josie had developed a craving for the mac and cheese at James’ restaurant just as I had. It was darn good.
