After I catch my breath I gaze into his eyes.  “That was amazing, Luke.”

His hands wrap around my shoulders, pulling me closer to him so I’m only inches away from his lips.  “No,
you’re
amazing.”  He kisses me and draws my head down to rest on his chest.

“I never knew that it could be like this.”  I’ve always heard about people having instant connections and great chemistry, but for the short time I’ve known Luke, it amazes me how at in sync we are with each other.  I sit up so I could look at him.  “You know, most people probably think we’re insane.  I mean, who falls in love in less than a month?”  I avert my gaze and laugh, trying to hide the insecurity I’m feeling.  Does he
really
love me?  I know it seems crazy that I’m questioning it, but it just seems so unbelievable.  I can tell he has so much experience and I wonder if I’ll be enough to satisfy him long term or if I’m just the flavor of the month.

Luke lifts me off of him and grabs my face, making me look into his eyes.  “I need you to understand a few things, Becca.  One, I don’t give a shit what people think of us.  I meant what I said last night;
I love you
.  As wildly insane as that sounds and as fast as things have moved with us, I mean it, with all my heart.  Two, time doesn’t matter.  Some people are together for years and will
never
have the connection that I feel when I’m with you.  The last thing is this; trust me when I tell you it isn’t like this for everyone.  I can tell that it bothers you knowing I’ve had several partners, and if I’m being honest, I don’t know if I could handle it if I found out that you’ve had as many as I have; it’s almost embarrassing for me, actually.  However I have
never
experienced anything like we have; those other girls were just space fillers.  It’s like watching the same movie over and over again.  Although you may like the movie, it’s boring because you already know what to expect.  When it comes to you, it’s anything
but
boring, and I can’t get enough.”

He kisses me again, and I swear I feel all of his emotions in one kiss.  I love that he’s able to go from the amazing sex god I was just with, to this unbelievably sweet guy.  If anyone had ever asked me who my dream guy is, Luke takes the cake…all the way.  After spending my entire life not knowing what I wanted in a man, he’s given me everything I could possibly want and more.

“I still want to take you out today, so how about we shower and get going?”  I nod my head and follow him out of the bathtub and into the shower.

Lucas

Becca blows my fucking mind.  After taking her against the shower wall, I finally have to walk away from her so she can get dressed or we’ll never leave our room.  When she exits the bathroom dressed in short jean shorts and a halter-top, I damn near rip the sheets to restrain myself from tearing her clothes off and making her mine…again.  She’s so damn sexy and she doesn’t even know it.  It’s definitely one of her many redeeming qualities and why I think I fell for her as quickly as I did.  I can tell from the way she reacts when she catches me looking at her sometimes that she doesn’t have a clue how gorgeous she is; she always blushes and tries to look away.

“I’m ready, Luke.”

When I gaze up at her I can’t help but smile.  I still can’t get over the fact that I’m now in a relationship—something that I haven’t attempted since high school—and it feels completely foreign to me.  Sure, I may have been possessive of a girl I was hooking up with, but with Becca I would rip someone in half if they ever
try
to touch her.  I stand up, take her hand, and we make our way out of the hotel room.  She walks in front of me on the way to the elevator and I can’t take my eyes off her ass.  She has incredible curves and her shorts seem as if they’re molded to her skin.  She turns around and catches me gawking at her like a school boy and blushes almost crimson.
Damn, she’s so sexy.
Once the elevator doors close she turns to me, an apprehensive look in her eyes.

“Am I um…am I dressed okay for wherever we’re going today?”

I pull her to me so that her back is to my front and rest my chin on her shoulder.  “Yeah, babe, why do you ask?”

She tilts her head to the side so it’s resting against mine.  “I don’t know.  You um…you’ve just been giving me these weird looks and I want to make sure I’m wearing the right kind of outfit for where we’re going; I didn’t even think to ask before we left the room.”

I kiss the spot right below her ear that I know drives her crazy.  “I’m looking at you because you look gorgeous.  I’m also trying to get myself ready to handle the massive amount of stares you’re going to get from other guys.”  I turn her around to face me.  “I know that you don’t know it, Becca, but you’re the most beautiful and sexy woman I’ve ever laid eyes on.  I just need to figure out how I’m going to keep from killing every guy that can’t keep his eyes to himself.”

I lean down to kiss her just as the elevator doors open.  I hear shouting and once I open my eyes I see flashes going off.
Shit, why the fuck did the hotel let the paparazzi into the damn lobby?
I’ll definitely be having a word with the manager later.  I reach for Becca’s hand and pull her close to me, trying to weave my way through the vultures trying to snap our pictures.  I had called down to the valet earlier, so my truck is waiting for us at the door.  We get outside as quickly as we can and I put her in the passenger side.  I run around to the driver’s side, trying not to shove my fist in the face of the photographer that asks who my latest “conquest” is.  Some of them really aren’t that bad—they take their pictures and stay out of your way—but the assholes that shout rude questions and try to block my path are the ones who really piss me off.

Finally in the truck and on our way out of the parking lot, I sneak a glance over at Becca.  She looks scared, but she has another expression that I can’t quite figure out.  I reach over and take her hand.  “Hey, you okay?”

“Yeah, I guess I just need to get used to that.”

“Unfortunately, I don’t think anyone can get used to that; I know I haven’t.”  I don’t know what else to say to ease her mind.  “I’m sorry.”

She looks up at me.  “Luke, it’s not your fault and I certainly don’t blame you for anything.  I’m just not used to that much attention, much less people being that aggressive about it.  So are you going to tell me where we’re going?”

“Nope, it’s a surprise.  I
will
tell you that it’s at least a two hour drive, so get comfortable.”  I tune the radio to my favorite rock station and let out a chuckle when I see Becca jump when the bass starts thumping.  “Too loud?”

“Just a little bit.  That and I’ve never really listened to rock music much until I met you.”

“Oh, really?”  I turn the volume down a little so I can hear her a little better.  “What do you usually listen to?”

“Um…country?”  I start to laugh because I was raised in the country and can’t stand that shit.  I throw on my country boy accent for effect.  “Well, darling, I love ya and all but there ain’t no way we gonna be honky-tonkin’ in here.”  I tip the bill of my baseball hat like the cowboys do and let out another laugh.

She punches me in the arm with a smile on her face.  “Ugh!  Whatever!”

My phone starts ringing, and once I see it’s my sister, Alexa, I press the button on the steering wheel to answer the call.  “Hey, Lex, what’s up?”  Becca looks over at me and I can see the question in her eyes.  I mouth to her that it’s my sister and relief noticeably washes over her face.

“Hey, rock star, what’s this I’ve been seeing all over the news about you going crowd surfing to save a girl?”

“Technically, it wasn’t crowd surfing, and the girl’s name is Becca.  I assume you haven’t talked to Mom, so I’ll fill you in.  Becca is my girlfriend.  She’s also in the car with me and you’re on speaker.”

“I’m sorry, did you say girlfriend?!  Luke, what the hell?!  Why didn’t you tell me?”

I can’t help but laugh.  Alexa is four years younger than me and is in her sophomore year in college.  She’s been bugging me for years to ditch my ‘man whore ways’ and settle down with a nice girl.  “I figured Mom would’ve told you, Lex, and we haven’t talked in a while.”

“Hello!  It’s called a cell phone!  Besides, I’m your sister; you could have at least sent me a text message saying ‘Hey, sis, I’m giving up my slutty ways and settling down.’”  Becca can’t hold it in anymore and starts laughing. “Oh, and hi Becca!  I’m this rude man’s sister, Alexa.  Thank you for making sure he doesn’t die alone.”  Now Becca is almost hysterical.  “So are we still on for our dinner date next weekend?  Since I’m the last one to find out, I think it’s only fair that I’m the first one to meet her.”

Becca looks at me, silently questioning me with her eyes.  “We’re going to be up near her college next weekend and I had already made plans with her,” I explain.

“Yes you did, dear brother, and you are
not
allowed to cancel!”

Becca grins at me.  “I’ll make sure he doesn’t forget, Alexa, and I’m looking forward to meeting you, too.”

“Ahhhh!  She doesn’t even sound like a bimbo!  Good job, Luke!”

I’m going to kill her
. “Okay Lex, love you, bye!”

“Luke, wait I…”

I press the button to end the call and glance over at Becca.  “I’m sorry about her.”

“You don’t have to apologize, Luke.  I think your sister sounds like she’ll be fun to hang out with.”

“Okay, good.  Also, about two weeks after we see her at school, we’ll be in my hometown for four days and I had planned to stay at my family’s house.  My mom fully expects me to bring you so everyone can meet you.  What do you think?”

“Um…that sounds good.  I’m kind of nervous, though.”

I take her hand.  “Don’t be. Trust me, if you can survive Alexa next weekend the rest of my family will be easy.”

We finally reach our destination and I pull into the parking lot, which really looks like a field filled with cars.  She’s looking around, trying to figure out where we are.  I finally point to a spot over the tops of the trees and she sees part of a ferris wheel.

“Are we at a theme park?”

“Kind of, it’s the state fair.  They only do it in the summers and I’ve always wanted to go but I never had the chance to, or anyone to take with me.”  She smiles at me as she leans in to kiss me.  “So, how did I do? Are you excited?”

“Yes!  I absolutely love fairs!”

“Good.  I figured as much after I saw how much you enjoyed the Ren Faire.”  I pull my hat down a little more and step out of the truck.  I head over to her side of the truck and notice she’s about to get out so I pick up the pace and lift her by her waist before she has the chance.

“I could’ve gotten out, you know.”

I pull her against me and lower my head so our lips are almost touching.  “I know you can, but this way I get to have my hands all over you.”  I slide my hands down to her ass and give it a squeeze while I kiss her. “Now come on, cowgirl, let’s get a move on.”

For the most part people leave us alone.  I notice a few people doing double takes here and there, but no one expects me to be here so they chalk it up to a look alike.  We spend the day going on the different rides and eating all the food that my trainer would kill me for even looking at.   I stop at one of the game booths where you toss a baseball into a big round tub.  It looks easy enough and I really want to win Becca one of those big stuffed animals.  It definitely isn’t as easy as I thought, and after my fourth try I’m starting to get pissed.

I motion to the guy working the game and lean in close to whisper in his ear.  “Listen, I’ll give you fifty bucks to let me win when my girl isn’t looking.”  He looks at me in disbelief, but when he realizes I’m serious, he nods and smiles.  “Hey, Becca?”

“Yeah?”

“Can you see the stage from here?  Has the next act started yet?”  There was music going on all day, but I need something to distract her.  When she turns around, the guy tosses one of those damn balls in the tub with ease.
How the hell was it so easy for them?
  “Yes!”

She spins around to see what I’m yelling about and sees the ball in the tub.  “You won?!”

I put my arm around her waist.  “Yep, pick whatever one you want.”  She chooses the big brown dog with a pink bow around its neck and I slip the guy a fifty when he hands it to me.  “Do you wanna go check out the music?”

“Sure.”

Becca takes off running when she hears country music coming from the stage; she looks so happy and carefree with her smile lighting up her face.  We stand around for a few minutes, watching people line dance to some up-tempo song I’ve never heard before.  A little girl right in front of us is dancing and having a great time until someone knocks her down, getting mud all over her dress and she starts to cry.

Becca immediately leaves my side and runs over to her.  She kneels down and says something in the little girl’s ear, making her smile as she wipes her tears away.  The little girl nods and Becca hands her the stuffed dog.  She hugs the dog tight and runs up to her mother and shows her what Becca has given her.  Becca walks back to me and wraps her arms around me tightly.

“I can’t believe you did that, babe.  That was so nice of you; I think you made her night.  Do you want me to try to get you another one?”

She shakes her head.  “No, I wouldn’t want you to have to bribe another worker.”

I look down at her, trying unsuccessfully to play dumb.  “What do you mean?”

“I mean that you slipped the guy at the booth a fifty to let you win.”  I’m speechless.
How the hell did she know?
“It’s okay; I thought it was really sweet of you.”  She leans up and kisses me before turning her head to watch the band.

A slow song starts to play and I whisper in her ear, “Would you like to dance, cowgirl?”

She looks back at me and grins.  “You mean the big tough rocker is willing to honkey tonk with me?”

“Baby, I think you’re gonna learn pretty quick that I’ll do just about anything for you.”  I move in to kiss her and then lead her out to the area where everyone is dancing.  She lays her head against my chest and I pull her tight against me.  We move together as though we’re one person, and as much as I hate country, I’m disappointed when the song ends.  She yawns and I can see that she’s totally exhausted.  “You ready to head back?”

She nods her head and I lead her back to the parking lot.  After helping Becca into the truck, I head around to the driver’s side and climb in, ready to get on the road, but not wanting the day to end.  We must have only been in the truck for about a half hour when I glance over and see that Becca has fallen asleep.  I hear a phone ring, look down at my cup holder and see that it’s hers.  I pick it up to silence the ringer, but I end up answering it instead.  When I see that it’s Jen calling, I put the phone on speaker so I can let her know Becca is asleep and will have to call her back.

“Listen you little hoe, I want some hot sexy details now!  I was worried sick all night about you, so unless I get to hear about the most amazing sex ever, you’re in trouble.  I want details, too!  Is he really as big as they say?”

Fuck.
“Hey this is Luke.”  I hear her gasp.  “I answered her phone by accident; we’re on our way back to the hotel and she fell asleep.”

“I…um…I… Shit, I’m sorry.  Can you just let her know I called?”

“Yeah, sure, no problem.”  I hear the phone click and started to laugh.  I wish I could’ve seen her face when she heard my voice come across the line.

Today was perfect and I’m excited to get back on the road tomorrow.  I would be lying, though, if I said I’m not worried about Becca coming with me.  I just hope that she can handle the constant paparazzi and crowds.  They can be pretty intimidating and infuriating, and they aren’t easy to get used to, but hopefully she can cope with the stress that comes with my lifestyle.
