STEVE MOORE
retired from the FBI following a 25-year career as a special agent and supervisory special agent. During his tenure, he ran Al Qaeda investigations for the Joint Terrorism Task Force in Los Angeles and later headed the investigation of terror attacks against the U.S. throughout Pakistan and Asia. Steve received multiple awards from the U.S. Department of Justice for his successful U.S. and overseas investigations, which ran the gamut from bombings to school shootings, anthrax threats to kidnappings, and individual murders to international terrorist organizations. His investigations spanned more than a dozen countries, and he has lectured on investigative techniques and counterterrorism at the International Law Enforcement Academy in Bangkok and at conferences throughout the world.
Special Agent Moore’s other FBI assignments included undercover counterespionage and anti-white-supremacist assignments, as well as five years as a SWAT operator, sniper, and helicopter pilot. After the FBI, Steve accepted the position of deputy director of public safety for Pepperdine University in Malibu, California, and its six campuses in Europe and Asia. It was while he was tasked with the safety of Pepperdine students around the world that he became aware of the case of Amanda Knox, an American wrongfully convicted of murder in Italy, and her then-boyfriend, Raffaele Sollecito.
As a result of his advocacy for Knox and Sollecito, Steve became aware of the plight of the wrongly convicted throughout the United States and internationally and began devoting his career to these cases.

bestselling nonfiction author, and critically acclaimed novelist whose research and experience have led to expertise in key issues of public policy, crisis management, and media and public relations.
