She shrugged. “Why not?”

“It’ll just take a second,” he promised, then opened his cell phone with a click. “Hello?”

She smirked…then reached down, popping open his fly and reaching into his pants.

His eyes bulged, and she laughed softly as she stroked his cock, freeing it from the denim. He frowned at her playfully. “What’s up, Finn?”

“I know what’s up,” Amanda purred as his erection stuck up like a steeple. He bit his lip, his hips arching up toward her. She moved to straddle his thighs, teasing and torturing him.

“Uh…um…yeah. Okay,” Scott said, his eyes starting to cross as she leaned down and gave him a quick, careful lick across the tip. She tasted wetness, and went in for a longer suck. “Tomorrow? Right…right… What? Two o’clock? All right.” Scott covered the phone with his hand, moaning softly.

Amanda released him, licking her lips. Then she settled down on top of him, his cock filling her deliciously. She threw back her head, letting her robe fall open to reveal her breasts.

“Listen, Finn, I gotta call you back, man. We’ll see you later…. What?” Scott swore. Then he handed the phone to Amanda. “He wants to talk to you.”

“Really.” Amused, she took the phone, shifting her hips a little so Scott groaned in torment. “Hello, Finn.”

“Welcome to the Club, kiddo,” he said. “And whatever you’re doing to make Scott sound that out of breath—you’re a wicked woman. I like that.”

She laughed, startled. “Yes, I am.” She shivered as Scott pulled her hips, grinding her lower onto him. “And I’m about to be a lot more so, so make it quick.”

“Two a.m. at the Factory, okay? I get the feeling Scott was a little too occupied to remember, but I know women are better multitaskers.”

She laughed. Then she clicked the phone shut, and tossed it in through the window. “Why do the Players always meet so early in the morning?”

“I don’t know,” Scott said. “Right now, I don’t care. You’re the only thing that matters to me.”

She smiled. Then she made a soft sound of pleasure as his hands cupped her breasts, urging her forward.

She straddled him carefully as he leaned against the rail. They faced each other, her knees on either side of him. Leaning his head back, he let her set the pace as she rode him there in the open night air, under the stars.

He sat up, his chest pressing against her breasts as she moved her hips more quickly against him. He wound his fingers in her hair as he held her mouth to his, kissing her roughly, passionately. Her breathing was fast, out of control. He was shifting and arching his hips as she thrust downward, urging his cock to slide deeper and deeper inside her.

When the trembling overtook her, she cried out against his mouth. Her body clenched around his, flooding him with her wetness as she shuddered and came. Within minutes, he let out a muffled shout against her lips as he rocked and spasmed beneath her, his orgasm filling her. They collapsed against the back of the padded deck chair. He kissed her sweaty temple, draping her with her discarded robe.

“I love you,” he said softly. Solemnly.

She looked deeply into his eyes. “I love you, too.”

He made a happy rumbling noise, deep in his chest. Then he glanced at his watch. “
Twilight Zone
’s on in fifteen minutes. I thought we could catch it—unless that’s too boring for you now, Ms. Adventurous?”

She winked. “I’ll get the hot cocoa going,” she said, and kissed him.

Epilogue

AMANDA FELT THE SUN BAKING her like a brick. She absently wiped at her forehead and took a deep breath. Even the air was hot and dusty.

“Just a few more steps,” Scott called from behind her, sounding winded.

“Thank God,” she said. Then, to her surprise, the satellite phone Lincoln had given her rang. Figuring it was the Club, she answered. “I’m almost there.”

“Almost where?” her ex-husband Ethan said, with surprise. “Amanda? Is that you?”

She’d forgotten she had her cell phone forwarded for emergencies. “Are you okay? Something happen?”

“Nothing bad—I was hoping you could watch the store this weekend,” he said. “A last-minute opportunity to go to Vegas for the weekend came up, and I was going to take Jillian there for a quick break.”

“Sorry. Absolutely can’t.”

“I was sure you’d be available. Even told her so.” He paused. “It’s not because you’re pissed at me, right? Or her?”

“Not at all,” Amanda said. “You know I’ve never been spiteful. I’m just… I’m busy myself,” she said, as she struggled up another stone step.

“Really?” He sounded amused. “Don’t tell me. You’ve started another business.”

“No. Well, not yet,” she amended. “I might sometime. Right now, I’ve just decided to do some things I’ve always meant to do.”

“Well,” he said. “I’m impressed. But are you sure you can’t take a break in your busy schedule to help out, just this weekend? The manager would do most of the work, but I trust you.”

“I really can’t,” she said with a little laugh. “I’m not even in the country right now.”

“You’re not?” Now he sounded floored. “Well, where are you?”

She reached the top, taking a deep breath, turning carefully to survey the landscape. Sand and the majesty of the pyramids stretched out beneath her like a postcard. She felt light-headed and triumphant.

“Sorry. Gotta go. Bye!” She hung up. Amanda looked at Scott, who was at her side. “Thank you,” she breathed.

“For what?” Scott asked, winded.

She kissed him softly. “For being the best adventure I’ve ever had.”

He smiled back at her, pushing a lock of hair out of her face. “You know what the awesome thing is?”

“What?”

He kissed her, with a bit more intent. “This,” he whispered in her ear, “is only the beginning.”
