He impaled himself more vigorously. He was squeezing against my dick like crazy. I felt my balls tightening up and the area behind them getting harder. My cock seemed to get even harder and swell. I was on the sweet edge of release, so close. I went in for a kiss. As our tongues touched, he screamed into my mouth, and I felt the blast of hot spunk on my belly and chest. I exploded into him. He sensed it, and we continued to come in unison. After a while, I put my arms around him and rolled both of us onto our sides. I slid out of him, and we pulled each other close. After a while, I asked him if he wanted a wash cloth.

“No, I like it when we’re stuck together with spunk. It’s hot. We can shower in the mornin’.”

“Okay, buddy, let’s get some sleep. We done used up this day.” Still intertwined, my last conscious thought as I drifted off was that we were breathing in unison.

Chapter Six

T
HE
next day, the sun was shining brightly, and the snow seemed to be sprinkled with diamonds. The sky was a bright, clear blue, and the pines along the bluff and on the hills were a brilliant, deep green in the cold blues and whites of the snowy landscape. Mike and I were both all duded up. We both wore Wranglers and fancy cowboy boots. Mine were ostrich, in a kind of a rich caramel brown the store had called cognac. Mike’s were a gray bull hide. We both had on rodeo buckles. He had on a turquoise blue cowboy shirt with geometric designs in dark blue and white across the yoke. His sleeves were rolled up, and the sleeves of his black longhandles were pushed up too. His gray cowboy hat looked real good on him. In my estimation, he looked good enough to eat, and it was taking a lot of willpower not to drag him upstairs and close the door behind us. Willpower and the fact that the three dudes we had booked were due soon. My cowboy shirt was red and black, and my sleeves were rolled up like Mike’s. My red longhandles’ sleeves were pushed up too. My cowboy hat was black. Sandy and Smitty had on nice jeans, boots, and matching cowboy/cowgirl shirts. Sandy looked really beautiful, and Smitty is a handsome man. He did have this dopey, dreamy, kinda unfocused look on his face nowadays, that seemed to get even more unfocused every time he looked at Sandy and muttered, “Sure, honey, whatever you say, dear, what can I do for you, honey.” I wonder if I looked that dopey around Mike. I’d have to ask José or Maria.

Even Jason looked nice in a cowboy shirt and boots he musta borrowed from Josh. Jason was struttin’ around like a banty rooster. He’d even taken out the ring that was through his nose and a couple of the rings that were in the upper part of his ear.

The house was clean. We’d gotten the tree and Christmas decorations down, and we were as ready as we’d ever be for guests. Josh was off in Seattle with Renee, and José had gone down to Wenatchee to visit with Maria. The dudes were supposed to show up around four. It was two thirty now, and I was as nervous as a long-tail cat in a room full of rocking chairs. The plan was just to let the dudes get settled, give them a welcome drink, have dinner, and see what they’d like to do. Jeanette was coming by tomorrow, and between all of us, we’d be able to pay plenty of attention to the guys who were our guests.

“Jeff, can you tell me about the guys who are coming this afternoon?” Smitty was looking at me.

“There’re three of ’em. First is a couple, Bryan and David, and the other is a single guy named AJ.”

“Where are they from?”

“Bryan and David are from Seattle, and AJ is from Portland.”

Sandy piped up. “Did they say why they wanted a ranch vacation?”

“They’d all seen the articles about me and Mike. Bryan and David apparently like the outdoors and wanted to spend a week skiin’. AJ just said he needed a vacation, and it looks like a peaceful, nice area.”

“Don’t worry, Jeff, they’ll have a good time. We’ll make sure they do, won’t we Smitty, Mike, Jason?” They all nodded. Mike turned to me.

“Don’t forget, Jeffy, we got to go get your horses.”

Jason then jumped in. “I thought you had horses already?”

“I do, Jason, but I wanted to get two more rare types. The first is called a Spanish Barb. They’re supposedly the descendants of the first horses the Spanish brought to the New World. They come from Arabian stock. The other type I’m gonna get is called Akhal Teke. They are really great-looking horses that have a golden sheen to their coats. They come from a desert country in Central Asia called Turkmenistan. I’m also gonna buy a pony, for kids when they’re staying here. There’s a New Forest pony I want to look at.”

“What are New Forest ponies?” Jason was starting to open up. It was nice he was asking questions.

“It’s a type of pony that comes from Hampton Forest in southern England. They’re supposed to be really smart, friendly, and gentle.”

“You sure love horses, don’t you, Jeff.”

“That I do, Jason.” A knock on the door made us all jump. It was Mike’s dad looking to speak with Jason. We’d told Jason that Mike’s dad was a counselor for PFLAG and that he would like to learn about Jason’s experiences with coming out, his family and friends, and finally living here on the ranch. Mike was pretty perfunctory in greeting his father. Mr. Guidry was very polite to everyone, but especially nice to me and to Sandy. I guess he remembered us speaking with him a few days ago on New Year’s Eve. He chatted with us for a few minutes, getting grunted, unintelligible replies from Mike, before he and Jason headed off to the bunkhouse.

About forty-five minutes after that, there was another knock at the door, and the couple, David and Bryan, arrived. They were both in their mid-thirties, and clean shaven. They both had brown hair. David was the taller of the two at about five eleven, and Bryan was about two inches shorter. They brought several pieces of luggage apiece. I had to stop and think about that. I travel pretty light. For example, when I go rodeoin’, I take a couple of pairs of jeans and a couple of rodeo shirts and a couple of nicer cowboy shirts for the evening. Then I’ll pack a pair of work boots and dress boots and two hats, with some socks and underwear. Just that will do me a week, providing there’s a laundry at the hotel. Smitty jumped up to help them take their bags to their room. We’d given them one of the big rooms on the first floor with its own bathroom. As they were about to go to their room, I turned to them.

“David, Bryan, are you guys ready for your welcomin’ drink?” Bryan smiled at me as David nodded.

“That sounds lovely. What do you have?” I had gotten a book on mixing drinks and stocked up the bar. Mike and I normally drink beer or whiskey, but I’d bought quite a few other things.

“Can you make a martini?” David was asking now.

“Gin or vodka?”

“Gin.” They both answered in unison.

“Comin’ right up, guys.” Sandy had lit the fire in the fireplace. It would soon be dusk. I went to the kitchen. Mike followed me.

“Jeffy, can you teach me how to make a martini?”

“I reckon we’re gonna learn together, buddy. These’ll be the first two I’ve ever made.” I pulled my cocktail recipe book down. It looked easy enough. I had bought several types of drink glasses so pulled out two martini glasses. I skewered a couple of olives and put them in the glasses. Following the instructions in the book, I filled the cocktail shaker with ice and added the amount of gin the recipe called for as well as the rest of the ingredients. I shook it up and poured the mixture equally between the two glasses. They were pretty full. Mike grabbed the cocktail shaker and tasted the drop or so of liquid which was left. The look on his face was comical. From his expression, I reckoned that I’m not the only one who doesn’t like gin. I laughed and Mike surprised me. He grabbed me and pulled me to him in a very expressive kiss. I kissed back without even thinking, pushing against his tongue with mine, and for once not objecting to the bitter, medicinal taste of gin. I smiled at him when we pulled apart.

“That was nice, buddy. Any special reason, or am I just so irresistible?”

“I’m kind of nervous with the dudes here, and that calms me down.”

“Remind me to calm you down even more, later.”

“You bet!” He looked like a kid on Christmas.

“Oh, and, buddy, bring those bowls of peanuts and snacks.”

“Yes, sir, Jeffy!” He was still looking like a kid at Christmas. My being dominant with him seems to prime his pump pretty well, and sometimes I get surprised by what he sees as my being dominant. I took the drinks out to the living room where the guys were waiting, sitting with Sandy and Smitty. Mike set the snacks on the table, and I gave them their drinks. They tasted them. I was on pins and needles, hoping they were okay.

“Thanks, Jeff, nice martini.” Bryan was the talkative one. David nodded again.

“Welcome to the Lucky Jeff Ranch. Did you have anything special you wanted to do while you’re here?”

“David and I both like to cross-country ski, so we’re planning on doing quite a bit of that.”

“Jeff and I both like to ski too.” Mike was trying to be the genial host.

“You guys look just like your pictures.” Wow, David could speak.

“Thanks, I think!”

“Jeff, you know those were good pictures.” Sandy had to comment on that.

“You just like the ones with you in them when we went carolin’.”

“You two must be really good friends.” Bryan was carrying the conversation again. David nodded.

“Jeff and I go way back. We’ve known each other since we were in third grade. I was his date at the senior prom.”

“Only because you begged, and I felt sorry for you.”

“What’s that have to do with anything, Jeff?” Sandy looked at me, and Smitty jumped in really quick.

“Jeff, you should consider yourself lucky to have gone with Sandy. She’s a nice, sweet, and beautiful lady.” I heard Mike chuckle, and Sandy turned red.

“Smitty, you ain’t gonna get any disagreement from me on that.”

“It seemed from the articles we read, you’re all really good friends. We can see now that’s the truth.” David nodded as Bryan spoke. Mike answered this time.

“We are all good friends. Sandy was my first friend up here before Jeffy and I got together, and she, Smitty, us, José, our foreman, Maria, a friend, and Josh, one of our buckaroos, and his girlfriend Renee hang around all the time. Sometimes Jeanette, our cowgirl, hangs with us too.”

Just then there was a knock on the door. I got up to answer it.

“You must be AJ. Welcome to the Lucky Jeff Ranch.” The man standing in front of me was about ten or fifteen years older than me. He had a shaved head and a goatee beard. I reckon if I had to describe him physically, I’d call him handsome but average. I extended my hand for him to shake. He grasped mine in a firm handshake.

“You must be Jeff. I recognized you from the magazine picture.”

“Yep. C’mon in, AJ.”

Smitty was standing right behind me. “AJ, I’m Smitty. I’ll help you with your bags while Jeff gets you your welcome drink.”

“What’ll ya have, AJ?”

“Do you have any white wine?”

“I sure do, Sauvignon Blanc okay?”

“It’ll do.” He then smiled at me and handed two of his three bags to Smitty. I noticed that his smile lit up his face and gave it a very pleasant openness. They headed off to AJ’s room. I got a white wine for him and some beers for me, Mike, Sandy, and Smitty. By the time I got the drinks into the living room, Smitty and AJ had come outta AJ’s room. AJ seemed to have a way with people. He and Smitty were chatting like old friends. Where David was very quiet and Bryan affable, AJ was outgoing. I’d bet he was a salesman or would make a really good one. He looked from Mike to me and then gave us that thousand-watt smile.

“You two are a very handsome couple. How long have you been together?”

“About three months now.” I pulled Mike closer to me on the couch.

Sandy muttered loudly for everyone to hear, “Oh-oh, we’re about to be magically transported to the set of
Brokeback Mountain
.” Everyone laughed but David. Mike was grinning like a turkey on the day after Thanksgiving. His pump was really primed.

“That’s cool.” Bryan spoke and David nodded. As we spoke, I found out that Bryan worked as a teacher at a private school on Mercer Island in Seattle, and David worked for Microsoft. AJ was also a software developer who worked contract. Sandy excused herself to get dinner ready. It was gonna be simple: stew, boiled potatoes, salads, and pie. We were chatting in the living room when Mr. Guidry and Jason walked in. Bryan and David immediately stood up.

“Mr. Guidry, what a pleasant surprise!”

“Bryan, it’s so nice to see you. You’re here to take advantage of Jeff and Mike’s hospitality?”

“We certainly are! I wanted to thank you again for the talk you gave our students and the one you gave to the parents. I can’t tell you how much easier it made it for our gay students. Are you staying here also?”

“No, I’m staying in town. I came up to visit my son and meet his partner.” It seemed like a lightbulb went off in Bryan’s head.

“Mike Guidry, wow, Mike’s your son. Mike, you sure are lucky to have the father you do. It must have made being a gay youth much easier.” I could hear Mike starting to breathe heavily and see his muscles tense. I put my hand on the small of his back to hopefully calm him down. Before he could say anything or react, Mr. Guidry answered.

“Actually, Bryan, Mike was extremely unlucky to have me for a father. I couldn’t accept him being gay and was abusive, both physically and psychologically. I’m the lucky one that Mike will even look at me. It took my losing him to realize what a bigoted ass I was. I went to PFLAG for help, and they did help me. I started working for them to try and avoid anyone going through what I put Mike through.” Bryan made a small “oh” sound. AJ looked back and forth from Mike to his father. David looked at Bryan. Mike was the first to recover.

“Guys, you’re here on vacation. We certainly don’t want our family history to get in the way of that. Right?” As he said “right” he looked at his father.

“Right. You’re here to enjoy yourselves, and you couldn’t find a greater group of hosts anywhere.”

Mike looked as if he was struggling with something. Finally he looked at his father. “You stayin’ for dinner?” I thought Mike’s father was gonna burst into tears.
