Only after few minutes of their intimate unity, she felt herself getting close and closer to her peak, and seconds later, the first muscle convulsions overshadowed the coming orgasm. Their heart pumped as one beat and they felt as if the orgasmic shudders were crossing from one body to another through the wet skin. The tingling sparks were rippling through as their screamed loud enough to wake up the neighborhood.

“Cuummmmm insideee meee,” she released the last words before he spilled his seed deep inside her and she felt how every drop speeded the warmness was reaching the depths of her belly.

An hour passed before they moved out of bed, until they were locked together as if they wanted to stay glued to each other till the rest of their life. In an abundance of love that passed through them, nothing else mattered.

“We are back to the year one,” Veronica said as the memories of the sexual encounters they had the first year of their relationship unfolded in their mind. They woke up the fire again.

“Shower?” he asked.

“Shower. Breakfast. Work. Yeah, back to the real life.”

“Shower. Breakfast. Hospital.”

“You are not working today, aren’t you?”

“Of course not, I am following the doctor’s orders, but I’ll have to go to meet the medical director, I still have to cancel the proposition and explain my decision.”

“Proposition, decision, collision, revision…” she kept adding rhymes as she was entering the bathroom.

“Real life, yeah real life.”

Clint finished one of the most difficult meetings in his career. He explained to director, and a long time mentor, why he changed his mind about the offered position. The meeting went better than expected since the director understood his choice even thou he didn’t foresee he already requested something that was more typical for people twice his age. Good news was the director contacted the head of a child department in a hospital near the hill where Clint and Veronica wanted to find a house, and as a end result, Clint had job interview in new hospital. Things couldn’t be better.

Before he left the hospital, Clint wanted to pass by his old department to visit his colleagues and patients. As he stood at the end of a hall, he looked across the glass wall and saw the children who were playing in a kindergarten. Some of them were his patients; some of them were recovering from severe injuries, some of them survived against all odds.

Clint’s heart skipped a beat when hen he reflected upon the mark that all these beautiful creatures had in common – their fragility. They were playing unaware of the fact life can strike them at any time or place, without prior warning. Even at that very moment, the earth-quake can wipe the whole city without anyone stopping by to say ‘sorry’.

The inflow of sadness was interrupted by a voice that already spoke to him the same day.

You see, that is how we see our descendants
, the image of a lion returned to Clint’s mind.

That’s why I attacked you. You would do the same in case you see someone is taking away these children without their consent,
Clint felt only deep respect for the lion.

But, I didn’t know,
Clint answered.

“Am I speaking to a lion?” he said out loud.
I’m speaking to a lion, am I mad?
he repeated in his mind.

Clint felt as if he was losing ground. Even the thought that he could telepathically speak with an animal scared him beyond any fear he experienced in his life. The fear he felt when the lion attacked him was understandable, but this wasn’t, his logical mind couldn’t accept that.

He turned away and rushed to the car, he was home in less than a half of the time he usually needed and on his way he tried to contact Veronica but she didn’t return the call.

He rushed in bedroom and covered himself with few blanket as he was trembling in fear that the reality was slipping away. The only firm muscle was the only in arm with which he was holding a phone.

After few minutes, Veronica called back.

“Darling what’s wrong, you called me ten times?”

“I heard a lion, I saw him again!” Clint started to sob and he released few tears.

“Am home in fifteen minutes, hang in there, ok?”

“Yeah, hurry, I want to hug you before I go nuts.”

“I am already on my way home, don’t worry darling.”

Clint’s trebling ceased, only few twitches every once in a while remarked that few seconds ago he felt as a child who had no hand to reach for.

When Veronica came home he calmed down as he felt secure from the madness that reached him. After an hour of nurturing, the old Clint came back again.

“Darling, you might need to find a professional help. What you are experiencing is nothing else then an after effect of the traumatic lion attack.”

“Yeah, you are right. Where should go? I have few psychiatrists in my phonebook, I might ask them if they have somebody to recommend…”

“Nah, you don’t need psychiatrist, you need psychotherapist. You need to speak with somebody, not just go on check up. My friend has one that she praises.”

“Everybody is praising their therapists.”

“Yeah, but Monica really changed. After all, she can have few drinks without fearing that she will become an alcoholic again.”

“Well, the talking lion and alcohol are two different things.”

“But the same person can help you.”

“Sure. I really need someone who will tell me what is going on.”

“I’ll give her a call right away, and you can set up an appointment!”

“Great,” he sighed in relief. Any insight about his state would be worth spending all the money in the world.

Lorena Quinn was psychotherapist trained in variety of different psychotherapeutic methods. She started with the interest in a famous psychiatrist C.G. Jung.  Her passion in learning the way how human psyche works continued with Gestalt psychotherapy, and later on she even finished transpersonal holotropic therapy approach.

She just entered the fourth decade of her life, and after she divorced her husband who couldn’t stand the need to explore inner worlds and wounds, she devoted her life psychotherapy and her clients.

She praised the idea of helping others, even to the point where she started to neglect her own needs. One day one she will be on the deathbed, she wanted to look back and see she helped as much people as she possibly could.

Even though her altruistic philosophy was admired by many, Lorena spent many nights wondering about her lone life. She was substituting loneliness with another client to whom she could help. She already faced with the fact she will spend the rest of her life alone if she continues the same way, and she didn’t see anything wrong with it.

When Clint called her and explained what he was going though, she scheduled a meeting without any concern about his strange telepathic encounters. As an experienced therapist, she wasn’t surprised by his symptoms.

They met next day and Lorena was impressed with his career as well as with his body. Although she stopped looking for a man, she still noticed a well shaped body.

After a short introduction, they were ready to speak about the problem.

“You said it all started after the lion bit you. Can you explain me what happened later on? What did the lion said?”

“Yes, after the attack fell in panic mode where I saw and heard a lion talking to me. I don’t know if it was real but for sure it seemed real. I felt sense and that what’s crazy. If it would be some gibberish, I wouldn’t care, but I had a feeling as if he was talking to me.”

“And he was saying what?”

“First time he said something about that I need to take care of my pack and next time he was telling me that he attacked my only because he wanted to protect the puppy I found before he attacked me.”

“You see, Mr. Fleming, or Clint if I may, there’s nothing strange about that. Your psyche is coping with the trauma, and it tries to find sense in it. That’s the reason ‘the lion’ is trying to ‘explain’ what is going on.”

“That’s a reasonable explanation, but it feels much more than what you said. It was too real to be simply dismissed as a product of my psyche.”

“You don’t have to agree and you can be right. After all, we will be working with ‘the lion, on our next session you will be speaking to him again. The difference is, you will do it consciously.”

“Oh, I see...”

“And I hope you will.”

They finished with the first therapy and he indeed felt better just from the fact that there was somebody who can listen to him and understand. Clint was looking forward for the next time when he will try talk with the lion again.

“Are you ready?” Lorena asked.

“Yes I am.”

“Imagine that a lion was sitting on a chair next to you..”

“I did.”

“Now, try to feel his existence. Go beyond pure imagination; try to feel him as if he was really here, in the same way you feel me.”

“I am, it’s not hard to imagine, I can really feel what I felt last time when I saw him. He felt even more real than most of the people in my life.”

“What’s do you feel now?”

“I feel his power and strength.”

“Okay, go on,”

“I can how we are the same,” he said.

“The same in what sense?”

“Now I understand!” he screamed.

Lorena noticed a strange glow in his eyes. They radiated with a mixture of a purple-yellow flame. Hair-raising goose bumps thundered through her skin, yet tried to stay calm in order to keep him in the same way.

“What’s going on now?”

“I feel a bolt of energy rising,” he marked the groin with his hand. He looked at her and even thou she was a slightly overweight woman in her forties, in his eyes she appeared as and the most being he ever saw. His lion side, that was once already triggered, started to wake up again.

“Between your legs?”

“Yes,” he said with a vicious smile.

“I am attracted by you,” he continued.

“You are what?” she dropped the notebook that she kept in her arms. It was not the first time she was told that by a patient, but usually her clients were ashamed of their feelings. Clint, in another hand, not only said it, it seemed as if he was proud of it.

“You heard me right,” he started to press his crotch.

“Can I ask you to move the hand?” she felt fear since his eyes was getting shiner by ever passing second and the hair oh his arms became thicker.

“No!” he was firm.

“Well, we shouldn’t continue the therapy like this,” she tried to find a way to get out.

“We will!”

Clint stood up and walked around her.

“Why you want to leave this exiting situation?” he swept his hand over her shoulder.

“Isn’t this what you wanted for long time? A man who can give you some action!”

“How do you know? You can’t talk to me like that!”

“Does it matter how do I know? I sure you heard plenty of theories that can explain that, you know that it’s possible to read people, similar how you read others. And not only can I talk to you like that, you want me to talk to you like that!”

“No! That is not what I want!”

“Then why you feel moisture between your legs?” he kept circling around her. She didn’t notice, but indeed behind the psychotherapy ethics there was a woman who wanted to feel his strength in every way possible. Yet, she did answer his question.

“C’mon psych, you are telling other to let it go, why don’t you do the same now?”

“I might be aroused, but I still can kept my sanity and know I would do a wrong thing!”

“What’s wrong in having some fun? Are you telling me sexuality is wrong?”

“I didn’t say that!”

“Nah, you feel what every of your patients feels,” his eyes shone with instance brightness, “they would like to but they all have reason why not to…”

“They don’t have a choice, but I do have one and I choose not to submerge myself to the body temptation,” she said as if she reached a final decision.

“You have been lonely. You are lonely Lorena, why don’t you ease your loneliness?” he touched her neck with tips of fingers and passed underneath the ear. Slowly he removed pulled down on shoulder strap and disclosed her breast.

Lorena wished to tell him he was right, that he was telling the truth. She wished if she could disregard her moral compass and give herself to a attractive supernatural man.

“How do you know all of that?”

“Don’t change the subject, I told you already.”

“Okay! Yes, I am lonely, but should I risk my license over you? What would you do if your patient asks you the same? Did you forget about that?  Oh right, you work with children. What if the good looking parent pursuits you?”

“You are not talking to Clint, remember that. He is sleeping now, I am behind a wheel.”

“And you are?”

“I am what Clint is afraid to be!”
