Corey lamented the verbal denial but ground his ass down on Jackson’s lap in consolation. He tried to kiss Jackson, but was held in place by his hair; the tease seemed to excite Corey further. The bigger man traced his tongue around Corey’s lips, making him whimper as he tried to get to that kiss.

Kai tried to look away, but the riders were still downfield, putting the couple in his line of vision. Corey was still trying to get at Jackson’s lips unsuccessfully, and he added to the story. “He’ll slam into you ‘cause you can take it hard. Again and again, pounding into your ass. It will feel so good. He’ll hit your spot with every single thrust. And right when you’re on the edge, just a few more strokes…” Jackson seemed to go molten at Corey’s words. When the now breathless guy leaned in finally for the kiss, Corey turned his head. “He’ll pull out and come all over your ass.”

A groan of desperation and a few quick movements later, Corey was on his back with Jackson kissing him deeply. Their hands fumbled with getting their pants down past their asses. After some enticing wiggling, Kai could see both hard cocks were blowing in the gentle summer breeze, which did nothing to cool their ardor.

Jackson spun around and took Corey into his mouth at the same time Kai saw Corey’s lips slide down around his lover. The bigger man pushed in right to the base with a heated groan, and the sexy little emo’s tongue came out to swipe a wet lick over balls that had already tightened.

Kai had grown aroused by watching the scene unfold, but he was trapped in the fantasy of Jasper doing this to him, or rather, him doing this to Jasper. His mouth sucking on the ex-priest to bring him the pleasure he hadn’t had in decades. The idea of Kai serving Jasper with his mouth was totally erotic. Every few hours he seemed to be discovering a new need he didn’t know he had. Kai continued to drink in the sexy sight before him.

After only a few minutes, Kai heard the strangled moan that tore from Jackson. From his viewpoint, he could see the man’s balls actually pulsate as he shot off into what Kai could only imagine was a very talented mouth. Corey moaned appearing to love it as he swallowed around Jackson, taking all he had to give.

When Jackson was done, he turned back around to move down between his lover’s legs and went back to work on Corey. The little imp tucked his hands behind his head. He opened his eyes to wink at Kai. “Hey, you want me to take care of that for you?” He pointed lazily at Kai’s tented pants.

Kai’s face heated up, and his body temperature rose. He pulled his shirt lower, trying to hide his bulge. “No, um, that’s okay.”

Smiling Corey shrugged, but didn’t say anything to him. He lay on the blanket stretched out in the summer’s sun. He didn’t seem to mind the fact that Kai was sitting right there. He was totally relaxed as he finished getting a blowjob from his boyfriend. The man was sexy and cute, but all Kai could see was how Jasper would react to feeling Kai’s mouth on him.

A moan drew him out of the fantasy in his head to the one being played out in front of him. Watching them was making Kai breathless with desire. Corey’s hips were canting forward as he appeared to be getting close to his release. “That’s right, suck me off, baby. Just like we’ll do to our other mate.”

The mention of their third mate seemed to encourage Jackson to apply even more suction, causing Corey to cry out sharply. His hands found Jackson’s head, and he pushed him all the way down to the root as he thrust up trying to get deeper. He rocked his hips back and forth as he unloaded with moans signaling complete release.

Kai thought it must have been a strong one because the guy just fell back as if he was shot. Only his big-assed grin seemed to indicate that he was the one that had done the shooting. And no bullet was involved. Trying not to focus on how much he wanted to feel what that was like, Kai saw the riders were working their way towards them. This gave Jackson and Corey time to straighten up their clothing and laugh like lovers do after doing something reckless and carefree.

Jasper called out to Kai, “You doing okay?”

“Yeah.” Was there any other answer he could give without causing concern and worry? He looked down to make sure his arousal was hidden.

Jasper dismounted his horse and handed the reins to one of the guys that came over who was acting as a groom. He nuzzled the horse’s nose before walking over to them.

Just then a guy appeared with two vials of
medicine
. “Here you are.” He said it as if he were bringing him penicillin and not some guy’s recent orgasm.

Kai couldn’t look at Corey or Jackson, but he could feel the weight of their stares. Jasper and he each took a vial and downed it. He restrained himself from licking the tube like it was uncooked cake batter.

“I can’t believe you guys do it that way.” Corey giggled. “You could get it straight from the source.” Jackson frowned at Corey, but the guy giggled. “What? I got plenty, and it would be more fun than that.” He gestured to the empty vials in the carrier’s hands as he took them away.

Not that he was considering other modes of receiving what he needed, but Kai asked a simple question. “How would we even know if we tasted our mate?” He couldn’t look at Jasper, so his eyes landed on Corey.

Corey thought for a moment and gestured to below their belts. “Oh, you would… same way. Mates know…” He smiled over at Jasper who was watching the other zombies across the field in their horseplay.

“But if we only see the vials how do we know whose it is?”

Jasper answered, “The doctor keeps records, so the donator would be easily traced.” He looked at Kai for a moment before smiling at him. “Okay. I’m going to finish this game.”

Kai nodded and inhaled. Jasper smelled so good. He took a deep breath and was barely able to control a shiver of excitement that ran through him. His manly scent seemed to go right to his cock.

Jasper hesitated but didn’t say anything. Kai felt his body burn up with Jasper focusing on him. Finally, the spell dissolved, and Jasper went back to his horse.

“Wow,” Corey said. “You two are so hot together.”

“What? No, it’s not like that.” Kai denied it even as he tried to push down the heat coursing through his body.

Corey curled into Jackson and started nibbling on his throat. “If you say so…”

Chapter Nine: Understanding the Question

“So you’ve been there a couple of months, tell me what America is like?” His cousin was a cute kid, and didn’t give up when he wanted information.

Lifting both shoulders in a show of indifference, Kai didn’t know what to say. “I haven’t seen much, but it’s like Germany, only English is spoken.”

“You still haven’t gone anywhere? Are you working that hard?”

How could he explain to his cousin he wasn’t really working at all? “Just been busy getting to know people.”

“So tell me about them. Have you made any friends? Tell me about
Jasper
.”

Kai couldn’t stop his grin. “Well, Jasper’s really a nice guy, like I said before. We get along really well.”

“You
like
him?” The kid was smiling big and happy.

Ignoring the implication, he replied directly. “Yeah, I do. He’s a great guy.”

“Tell me more. What’s he like?”

“Hmmm, I don’t know. He’s very funny, but not in a snarky way. He’s pretty easy to talk to because if anyone has a problem everyone goes to him. They do these physical challenges, and he by far is the best. He’s very strong. You should see him ride a horse. Remember watching the special on Mongolia and how they are one with the animal? That’s him.” Kai couldn’t get the image of Jasper galloping towards him as his brown hair blew in the wind.

“Is he good looking?”

“Yes,” Kai blinked at having answered without thinking. Ulrich’s giggle was hard to ignore, but he continued to do his straight shuffle. “I mean, yeah I guess so. What do I know?” Needing to change the subject, because just picturing Jasper in his mind started his heart racing. Kai decided to ask about the vines. “How are the vines doing?”

“Fine,” Ulrich answered like it didn’t matter.

“You are giving them the right mix of everything they need right? I know it’s a big job, but maybe you could hire some help or something.”

“Maybe,” Ulrich said vaguely. Kai decided not to follow up on that. “So who else have you met?”

“Well, I spend a lot of time with Corey and Jackson.”

“Who are they?” Ulrich laughed. “And why are you blushing?”

“I’m not.” The denial didn’t make his statement true, which frustrated Kai even more. The kid was too perceptive. “They are just guys I met here.” He was not going to share how almost every time he hung out with them, they got intimate. It wasn’t like he participated in their impromptu sucking fuck fests. He just hung out until they were done and were ready to continue their conversations.

“Are they like together? In like together
together
?” Ulrich asked, overly excited about the perspective.

Rolling his eyes, Kai admitted it. “Yeah, they are. How did you know?” He’d only said their names.

Ulrich waved him off. “I know things.” It was his way of jokingly admitting that he had a vision of them. Kai could only hope it was PG rated.

“They are nice guys. I guess they met in high school, but got together… afterwards.”

“They are waiting for someone else.” It wasn’t a question. Ulrich knew.

Kai nodded his head.

Ulrich looked a bit dazed as if he had connected to whatever gave him the information. “Everyone there is waiting for someone.” Kai nodded quietly. “I will be there too, Kai. But I won’t be waiting. I will meet my someone before it’s time.” The kid frowned and snapped out of it. “Well, it sucks to be me.”

“You okay?”

Ulrich looked as grumpy as a toddler near naptime. “I shouldn’t have to wait. That’s not fair.”

“What’s not fair?” Kai wasn’t sure if he were following him.

“Nothing.” Ulrich pouted in that sulky way of his that made Kai want to jolly him right out of it.

“So you can see you’ll be here?” Kai asked hopefully.

Ulrich smiled, obviously trying to find the silver lining. “Yeah.”

Kai stopped himself from asking when because it always frustrated the kid that the time frame was never clear. “So that’s good, right?”

“Yeah,” Ulrich tilted his head and looked at the screen. “Are you gay?”

“What?” He didn’t mean to raise his voice, but the kid seemed to end every conversation with that question. “Why do you keep asking? Do you think I’m going to wake up gay one day?” The kid looked a bit hurt by Kai’s explosion. Sighing, Kai knew he shouldn’t have raised his voice. “Look, I’m sorry I yelled.” Inhaling and exhaling. “Ulrich why do you keep asking me?”

His cheeks tinted to a light pink, and he shrugged. “I don’t know. I guess ‘cause I am…”

There is it was. “Okay.” He’d been waiting for that admission. “Are you okay about it?”

“Yeah, of course.” The kid snorted as if that was the dumbest question ever. How could he have remained so untouched by his father’s ugliness? “Are you?” He glanced away from the computer screen as if he could hide how important Kai’s answer was to him.

“Yes, of course. I’m fine with it.” At his words, he actually saw the kid breathe a sigh of relief. “But please, Ulrich, be careful. Your father can never know.” Kai could only hope Ulrich understood how important heeding his warning would be. His uncle spewed so much hate on every topic, but homophobia was the biggest on that long list. Kai wondered if maybe that’s where some of his issues developed from, and it amazed him that Ulrich seemed unscathed by it.

* * * *

Time seemed to fly by. Before Kai knew it, another couple of months had slipped by as he adjusted to his life as a transitioning zombie. The days took on a relaxing yet exhilarating pattern. He would usually spend some time in the morning reading the mated couples book and then in the afternoon he would spend time with friends. Well, mostly Jasper, but sometimes Corey or Jackson or one of his new friends.

He had met everyone who lived on the estate, and they were all so nice. Kai was enjoying the job he begged Lafayette to assign him. He was waiting tables at Club Zombie. It wasn’t glamorous work, but it kept him busy. Beau had encouraged him to go to college with some of the other zombies, and he would as soon as he could figure out what he wanted to study.

Ulrich seemed a little off when he spoke to him earlier that day, but the kid wouldn’t say why. It made Kai extremely uncomfortable, but he didn’t know what to do about it.

It was a beautiful sunny afternoon and the gentle breeze along with shade from the forest made it perfect. Jasper had taken him riding through a different part of the huge estate. There was a quiet babbling brook, wild flowers everywhere, and no one else in sight.

He smiled over at Jasper, “Looks almost like home.”

Jasper grinned, “None of the other guys ever want to ride this far out with me. So I usually come out here alone. Thank you for joining me.” He pulled his horse to a stop. “You ready for lunch?”

“Oh, yeah. Sure. You packed us a lunch?” That was brilliant planning on Jasper’s part.

“Yup.” Jasper jumped down from his horse and grabbed the pack that Kai hadn’t noticed.

Kai dismounted a tad slower. He was a much better rider than when he started, but he still didn’t want to spook his horse. After petting each horse, he walked them to the brook so they could drink the cool water and then gave them time to graze a bit before he turned back to Jasper.

“Wow.” When he turned around a blanket was laid out, along with plates, glasses, and silverware were ready to be used. There were containers of chicken, salads, and chocolate cake.

Jasper grinned at him, “What? Have you never had a picnic before?”

Swallowing, Kai shook his head. “Not like this. You brought real china and glasses.” He walked slowly towards the blanket.

Shrugging, Jasper turned away to put the pack away. “Well, they don’t blow away.” Kai guessed that made sense. It just seemed so fancy and formal. He didn’t know why, but he was feeling all jittery on the inside just looking at it.

He pointed to the iron ring a few trees down in the shade. “You can tie them to that, so they don’t step on their reins.”
