| 18 I had the pleasure of meeting Jack Keever and Robert Heard on 16 March 1996 while serving on a panel for the South By Southwest Media Conference in Austin, Texas. My conversations with these gentlemen are hereafter cited by name only. Robert Heard, a distinguished journalist in his own right, graciously agreed to review my manuscript. He summarized his experiences that day in letters to me dated 15 and 23 May 1996. All information about Keever and Heard is from the letters and the following other sources:
