“I don’t think we have a choice,” she told him. “I think we have to leave this planet.”

Taking his hand, she looked him in the eye as she shared her thoughts.

Jack flinched. “My God! The coordinates for the next attack are for Ryso!”

Chapter Thirteen

Roimiran ship, Ryso’s orbit

Ardra was free. She strode up to the ship’s foredeck and stood in front of the window, but her own reflection obscured part of the view.

“Welcome to the emergency escape ship, Miss Ardra Pierce,” she said aloud.

Although she spoke softly, her voice sounded harsh against the silence. At least that name felt right.
Mrs. Deimos
might sound good eventually, but for now she would stick with Pierce. She had been too quick to make the change the last time.

She sighed as she looked at the universe outside. There were transport ships and freighters framed in every window—refugees from the planet-wide evacuation. Several of Jack’s friends, including Terrah, were on board, and she knew more ships would soon follow. There was no way to know how the Tetch had learned about this planet in the first place, but now that they were aware of its existence, they were definitely coming.

Ardra watched the vessels as they were brought about, and then she stared at the planet beyond. Once again, she saw a sphere of blue and green and white, and for some reason she felt sad. She wanted to belong, to have a home again.

“You will,” Jack told her, reading her mind. He snuck up behind her and held her in his arms. “And I’ll make sure it has a garden too.”

She frowned. Stevin had promised her something similar.

“This is different.” Jack walked around to face her. “This time you saved yourself, and any life you make will be your own and no one else’s. I just hope you’ll let me play a part in your future.”

“You’ve convinced your superintendent to let me remain free?” she asked.

“Well,” he said, “after I assured him you weren’t already gone, I demanded he let me take you with me.”

“Oh really? And what did he say to that?”

Jack stepped closer. “He made a long speech about duty and loyalty and then reminded me that we were on the same side.”

“And you said?”

“I told Walter that there are more than two sides, and I intended to stay by yours no matter what.” He slid his arm around her and pulled her close. “I said it very persuasively too.”

She smiled and leaned into him. “You don’t say. And what made you decide to side with me, Jackson Deimos?”

There was a twinkle in his eyes as he answered her. “I’m sure it was your wit.”

She laughed. “Finally, a man who loves me for my mind.”

He bent to kiss her. As their lips connected, she felt his promise of loyalty as well as passion. Ardra knew he would always be part of her life. He was a lover who would never turn his back on her, and she would never regret letting him in.

She held the embrace even as their ship made the jump and only afterward slipped her hand into his. She led him back to their quarters.

In bed, they joined together as one. This time it was no mere dream, and no nightmares came to spoil their love. Somewhere far away, a binary star shone brightly against a space of infinite possibilities. Ardra fell asleep with nothing but a wonderful future on her mind.

Resonance Mates
, Book 5

The prophesied time has arrived and Harry—born of an alien mother and a human father—must journey to the top of the world to unlock a mysterious ship found trapped in an icy crevasse. A ship only someone of Harry’s bloodline can open.

Roshin, a young Alvian scribe, is sent to record events as they unfold. Beneath her remote, icy beauty, Harry feels an unwanted hum of attraction. He has always dreamed of a warm, giving relationship with a human. Not a cold, emotionless Alvian.

Then there’s Cormac, an Alvian officer sent to head the expedition. When all three are trapped inside the vessel, Harry is confronted with an unexpected dilema—cling to his dream of a human bond, or answer the call of fate and form a lifelong alliance with not just one, but two aliens.

Warning:
Harry’s all grown up and ready for action—with not one but two Alvians. Theirs could be a permanent ménage relationship that will resonate in your heart long after the last page is turned.

Is he the hero of her dreams…or the death of them—and her?

Interplanetary League series

On the day of her birth, Lia fulfilled a prophecy that ended a 5,000-year war, and became a wife. But being the fulfillment of a sacred prophecy makes for a stifling childhood—not to mention a dangerous one. When an assassination attempt goes wrong, Lia takes the opportunity and runs from her destiny—as well as from her absent husband.

Talon isn’t sure what to expect when he rescues his bride from a mining colony on a barren moon. What he doesn’t anticipate is her lack of gratitude and her repeated escape attempts. Determined to convince his wife to accept her duties, Talon knows he also needs to keep her safe, even if he has to lock her up in his own quarters to do it.

As they get closer to their planet and Lia’s coronation, the danger around them increases, and so does the tension between them. For their growing attraction to turn into something more, they need to stay alive and learn to trust each other—a tall order when Lia’s experience in life has taught her that trusting people can get you killed.

Warning: Contains adult language, sexual content, and as always, reading anything by Liz Craven may be hazardous to your sanity.

She has the power to bring new life…or utterly destroy it.

Torin Kerridon, the last warrior from an ancient order, is drawn to an abandoned, dying Earth, where he finds a forgotten young woman. A woman forged by the Immortals to wield the ultimate weapon—the Sun Sword. A woman capable of commanding the power of the suns. A woman with no past and no memory, the body of an angel and the spirit of a demon. He will train her. Prepare her.

Hunted all her life, Kala Rei has endured more than one woman should. Sheer grit, and a dangerous skill with a lead pipe, is the key to her survival. But nothing threatens her sense of safety more than dominance-oozing Torin. He wants her, but not for what’s between her legs. For what he believes her to be—some ludicrous savior from some absurd prophecy. No matter…his offer to take her away from Earth is too good to refuse.

But when a savage desire begins to burn between them, both Torin and Kala are in danger—and so are the worlds of man.

Warning: This book contains an ancient prophesy that can’t be denied, a brooding hero tormented by desire, a stubborn woman who hungers for his touch, a villain so vile you’ll want to kill him yourself and sex so hot it’ll melt the suns of the known universes…and then some.
