STRING THEORY

Extra Dimensions
Our universe currently has three dimensions of space, up/down, front/back, and left/right. String theory, however, can only make sense if there are more than three dimensions. And scientists have possible explanations for where these extra dimensions are. One explanation is that it is believed that there are six dimensions, and that they are curled up into sizes so small that we will never identify them. Another explanation states that the other dimensions are inaccessible because we are fixed on a three-dimensional brane, and those other dimensions extend from off of our brane.
