“What happened?” I asked as I rushed over to Candy.

“That’s what I’m trying to figure out,” Candy answered and looked over my shoulder before rolling her eyes. It was then that I realized the mistake I just made bringing Natashia here with me to check on Tamia. If Tamia got wind of the bullshit I’m on right now, she’d never speak to me again.

“Go sit over there,” I told Natashia before I pointed at empty chairs on the other side of the ER.

“TRAUMA TEAM ACTIVATION! TRAUMA TEAM ACTIVATION” I heard a voice say over the intercom.

“Fuck! That’s not Tamia, is it?” I asked and grabbed Candy by her shoulders. Tears began to fall from her eyes as she shook her.

“I don’t know. I need to go talk to Ms. Ruby,” she said.

“Ms. Ruby? Your neighbor? What does she have to do with it?” I asked confused. Candy ignored me as she stepped to the receptionist desk before being let to the back.

I began to pace the floor waiting on Candy to come back. “Boy, what you doing here?” someone asked as I turned around.

“Auntie,” I said to my Aunt Jennifer. “I thought you stopped working nights,” I said to her.

“They called me in about three traumas they have down here. Why you here?” she asked.

“Man Auntie, my girl one of those traumas,” I said and watched her mouth drop.

“Your girl?” Aunt Jennifer asked. “Who?” she asked.

“Ms. Jennifer, they need you now,” a lady came to window and said.

“I’ll see you later baby,” she said before heading to the back.

“Fuck!” I yelled before throwing myself in one of the chairs.

“Are you ok, babe?” Natashia asked.

“Family emergency, catch a cab,” I said and handed her a knot of money out my pocket. I could tell she was about to snap until she saw how much money I gave her.

“Well, call me later,” she said before running out the door like she thought I was going to take the money back.

About thirty minutes later, Candy came walking from the back with her face and eyes red. She walked right into my arms and cried on my chest. “I shouldn’t have left her! I knew that man wasn’t trying to get me and I left her alone!” she cried harder. I let her cry until she calmed down enough for me to question her.

“What man Candy?” I asked as I stared at her with my blood boiling.

“The man that took her friend came back to take her, remember, but he grabbed me,” she said, which made me feel like shit. I should have been with her but I was putting everything before her, and this was where she ended up as a result. “The police thought she was trying to kill Ms. Ruby, so they shot her,” she said and looked at me. I had to sit down to keep from falling after she told me Tamia had been shot.

“What is the officer’s name that shot her?” I asked Candy.

“I don’t fucking know! I still don’t know everything that happened. Ms. Ruby said Tamia was hiding in her yard but the man came over there to get her, so she ran in the house and pulled Ms. Ruby inside. Ms. Ruby called the police but the man pushed her down and tried to take Tamia. Some kind of way Tamia got away and came back to help Ms. Ruby and that’s when the police shot her,” Candy said before crying again.

First, I’m going to find out what police officer shot my girl. Then I’m going to kill him. Right after that, I’m going to kill everybody that has hurt or want to hurt her. “This is all your fault,” Candy said and interrupted my thoughts.

“What?” I asked.

“You were supposed to be there protecting her. She should have been wherever you were but she couldn’t be there because you were with Chardae!” she snapped, which caused my mouth to drop.

“How do you know?” I asked confused.

“When we were at Doc’s house, Tamia was holding your phone. Chardae texted while she had it so we know where you were,” she explained.

“Is that all she knows? That I went to Chardae’s house?” I asked because I needed to make sure she didn’t know about the baby.

“Is there more?” Candy asked. I stood back up and paced the floor before approaching the receptionist.

“Can you let us know something about Tamia Anderson? She got shot,” I stated and looked at the receptionist. She looked at her computer before shaking her head, telling me no. “Well, can you send her doctor out or a nurse?” I asked as she continued to shake her head. “Listen bitch! Whatever story them pussy ass officers gave ya’ll is wrong! She was trying to help that damn lady and if you don’t believe me, go ask the lady! Now you need to get up and get somebody out here before I start randomly slapping people!” I snapped before Candy pulled me back to my seat.

“You catch more flies with sugar than shit,” she said and approached the receptionist.

About ten minutes later, they came out asking for family members for Tamia. We walked to the back to where the doctor gave us a brief run through of Tamia’s condition. The first bullet went through her left shoulder spinning her around and the second bullet went through her other shoulder knocking her out. The only thing I cared about was the fact that she would make a full recovery. They still wouldn’t let us in to see her but I paid an officer to sit outside her door because I had moves to make.

Michelle

I was sleeping soundly until the lab tech came in my room drawing blood. How she gone come in here sticking me with needles without letting me know first? I promise I didn’t know they could do that. Then it wouldn’t have been so bad if she wouldn’t have missed the vein. Granted, I jumped, but what did she expect a sleeping person to do? She’s lucky I didn’t start swinging on her because I think when you scare normal people out of their sleep, they swing.

Anyway, Dr. Moore had me up all day yesterday because he kept running tests on me. For the life of me, I couldn’t figure out what they thought they would see. He sent a female name Dr. Brown in to ask me if I heard voices, which pissed me off! I told her “yep, I hear you loud and clear.” She rolled her eyes, which was very unprofessional might I add, and continued asking me questions. I wonder if those doctors know that when they’re asking you all those dumb questions, it pisses you off. Well, they can’t know because they will piss you off and then ask why you’re upset!

“Hey, I’m going down to help in the E.R. If you need me, just have them page me,” my nurse Susan said as she entered my room without knocking. I nodded my head and she left back out.

*Knock, Knock*

“C’mon!” I yelled and rolled my eyes because I just wanted to sleep, and I’m tired of people coming in and out of my room. When I heard the door open, I couldn’t believe my eyes! “Ray? What are you doing here?” I asked. I could feel my heart flutter as I waited on him to get closer.

“I heard about what happened to you and I needed to see if you were ok,” he said while he stood next to my bed.

“I’m better now. I miss you,” I said and looked deeply into his eyes.

“I miss you too. Let’s start over,” he suggested, which caused my eyes to get buck.

“What do you mean?” I asked as I tried not to jump to conclusions.

“Let’s wipe the slate clean and pick up like we never left off,” he said with eyes filled with love

“What about Tamia?” I asked because I wasn’t going to share him with anyone.

“Don’t worry about her. I only have eyes for you, my love. I’m tired of fighting my love for you!” he said and I could tell he meant every word that spilled from his beautiful full lips.

“Make love to me,” I damn near pleaded.

I watched Ray grab the chair and place it securely behind the door. He walked slowly towards me, smiling the entire way. I could see his dick growing inside the sweatpants he had on. He kissed me softly as he climbed into the small bed with me. The kiss became aggressive then he moved down, lightly sucking on my neck. He lifted my gown before smiling because I wasn’t wearing any panties. He twirled one nipple between his fingers while sucking hard on the other one before switching. I moaned out in pleasure as he planted soft kisses down my stomach. I brought one leg closer to my chest to give him better access to my pussy as he began to lick and slurp on it. He slid his hands under my ass and lifted me closer to his face by my hips. He sucked the soul out of me through my pussy. I didn’t fight my orgasm one bit as my body shook. He raised up slightly releasing my 9" gift from God. He slid slowly inside of me and it felt like home. “No condom?” I asked, shocked because he’s always so careful.

“Sssh,” he said and placed his finger on my lips while moving slowly in and out of me. “I love you baby,” he said as he began to pound into me like no tomorrow! I couldn’t even form the words to tell him how much I loved him. I tried speaking but I was more than likely speaking in tongues. I could feel his dick jerking inside of me, so I knew he was about to cum. I could feel another orgasm coming as my toes began to curl. “OOOHHH GOSH!” I screamed out.

“TRAUMA TEAM ACTIVATION ER. TRAUMA TEAM ACTIVATION ER.” a voice said over the intercom, waking me up from the best dream I’d had in a long time. I was mad because I dreamt it all but I know that’s how he feels because the dream felt so real. There was a lot of commotion in the hallway and curiosity got the best of me. I climbed out of bed and padded over to the door. When I opened it, I saw nurses scrambling like roaches when you cut the lights on. I walked slowly down the hallway knowing I wasn’t blending in at all but they were so busy, I knew they weren’t paying me any attention.

I hopped on the elevator and went down to the ER to see what all the fuss was about. As soon as I stepped off the elevators, I was stopped. “What are you doing down here? You need to be in your room.” When I turned around, it was my nurse Susan. I couldn’t believe my bad luck at this moment.
Tell her you were looking for her.
“I was looking for you,” I said and waited on her to tell me what to say next.

“Ooooh Sweetie, let me get you to your room,” Susan said lightly but firmly grabbed my arm.
Tell her you have to use the bathroom.

“Can we stop and use the bathroom please?” I asked. Susan looked at me suspiciously first before leading me into the bathroom. “Now what?” I asked confused about why we were even in the bathroom.
Hit her dummy!
“With what?” I asked.

“Excuse me?” Susan asked as she heard us talk.

“Nothing,” I said and walked into the stall after realizing I really did have to piss.
Snatch the little trashcan right there for pads.
I began to pull at the trashcan and it came off easily. I stood up, cleaned myself, and flushed the toilet. When I walked out the stall, Susan was washing her hands.
Hit her in the head now!
I reared back as far as I could and hit Susan across the back of her head and knocked her out instantly. “Sorry,” I said to her. “Now what?” I asked.
Take her clothes.
I slid Susan into the last stall because it was big and removed all of her clothes, leaving her naked as the day she was born. I quickly slid into her clothes and walked out of the stall, throwing my gown away.
Good job!
I looked in the mirror feeling extremely proud of myself. I never knew I could be a nurse but I look pretty darn good, if I may say so myself.

I walked out of the bathroom and walked down the hall looking in every room. I walked passed all the nurses running back and forth like chickens with their heads cut off. My nerves began to kick in as I got closer to the nurse’s station but quickly calmed down once I realized no one was paying me any attention. I had no idea what I was looking for. All I knew was I was being lured in this direction. I stopped and stared at the nurse’s station, taking everything in. The nurse’s only stayed there long enough to grab more supplies before they were on their way to help a patient. The only person that didn’t move was the lady seated in the middle at a computer with a headset on. I began to wonder how many traumas came in for everyone to be running around frantically. The only calm place was right where I was standing. It was almost like standing in the eye of the hurricane. Not that I’ve ever been in the eye of a hurricane but if I had been, I’d imagine this is what it would be like.

I continued walking down the hall until I came to a room that had a small body on the bed. I stepped closer to the door and my heart sank down to the bottom of my stomach when I saw it was a little girl. There was a nurse standing next to her giving her an IV while another hung fluids. I continued to watch as my hand subconsciously flew to my mouth to keep from crying out to her. There was a nurse on the other side doing chest compressions and someone else standing over her head with some kind of device to breathe air into her lungs every so often. “God, please don’t let the child die. Her life has barely begun,” I said softly and hoped my prayers are answered.

Reluctantly, I pulled my body away from the door and continued walking down the hall. The next room I came to, I stopped just in time to see the doctor remove a bullet. I heard someone say he’s stabled and that’s the only reason I knew he was a man. I could see his large frame but it was surrounded by medical staff. Him and the little girl must have been together. If he’s the reason she’s half dead in there, then I pray God takes him instead of her.

Walking away from his door, I continued down the hall. The next room housed an old lady that looked to be in so much pain. There was a woman talking to her about some man. I walked closer to the door but they were talking so low, I could barely hear anything they were saying. Aggravated, I released a deep breath, which caused the woman to look at me. I recognized her instantly and turned around heading straight back out the door before Candy realized it was me. I didn’t need her in my business, especially if she tried figuring out if I worked here or not. I kind of liked Candy and I’d hate to add her to my kill list.

I walked down the hall until I saw an officer come outside of a room. “Shit, they must have the person that shot that man and little girl in that room,” I said out loud to myself. I walked closer to the door and couldn’t believe my eyes. My heart began to pound in my chest as a slow smile spread across my face. Tamia laid handcuffed to the hospital bed probably because she shot that man and that little girl. I walked into the room, wishing I knew of anything that I could shoot in her to kill her instantly. She rotated her head slightly to look at me and it looked like someone did a number on her once beautiful face.

“Hey Tamia. I’m Michelle. I’m going to check your vitals, ok?” I said doing my best impression of the day I met her at the hospital and she ruined my life. It was right after I saw Ray’s car explode and somehow got hit by a few stray bullets. I blacked out and woke up to my nurse Jennifer and Tiffany talking before Ms. Got It All Put Together came in.

“Excuse me. Sorry for interrupting, Mrs. Jennifer. I’m Tamia and I’m supposed to shadow you today for clinicals,” I heard a different voice say. I open my eyes slightly and I can’t believe how pretty she is. I can tell she had a cute shape even in her scrubs. She looks about my age so she can’t be a nurse already.

“Who are you?” I say, startling everyone in the room. I watch as Tamia walks over to me.

“My name is Tamia and I will be shadowing your nurse Mrs. Jennifer today,” she says with a smile. I nod my head. “Ok, I’m going to check your vitals now, ok Michelle?” she says more like she’s asking if it’s ok with me, so I nod my head. I watch her as she checks my blood pressure and temperature. She turned towards nurse Jennifer and said 18. When she turned back to me, I was looking confused. “The amount of breaths you took in that minute,” she explains.

“Oh. I didn’t know you were counting,” I say.

“Yes ma’am, that’s because I never tell anyone when I’m counting their breaths. Had I told you, you would have subconsciously changed it up, whether it was faster or slower,” she said.

“Oh ok, cool,” I say.

“It was nice meeting you. I have other vitals to catch up on but I will come back in a few hours, if that’s ok with you,” she says.

“Yes, that’s fine,” I say and she turns to walk out of the door.

At that time, I could tell it was something about her that Tiffany didn’t like but I was blinded by the “got it all together” front she was putting on. Now look at her, handcuffed to a hospital bed about to go to jail for shooting that man and little girl. “Ya know, when I first met you, I admired you. I thought you had it all put together but you’re nothing but a man stealer and murderer! How dare you shoot that little girl? I can understand if the man hurt you but children are innocent!” I said, getting angrier by the second.

“What little girl?” she asked, ignoring everything else I said with a confused look on her face. The fact that she was trying to play stupid pissed me completely off!

Taking a step closer to her, I noticed the gauze on her shoulders. “Why’d you shoot that little girl?” I asked and squeezed her shoulder with my thumb pressed firmly against her wound. She screamed out in pain but no tears came from her eyes. “You think you’re tough huh?” I asked smiling while squeezing harder. She screamed even louder but her eyes weren’t even watering. Her screams aren’t enough for me! I wanted to know she’s hurting and the only way I’ll know for sure is for her to cry. I squeezed both of her shoulders at the same time.

I closed my eyes with a smile.
Whap!
Tamia had done mustered up enough strength to hit me hard, enough for me to stumble back and knock the tray filled with equipment over and the stand holding her fluids up. I tried to grab hold of everything on my way down but I still hit the floor, even more pissed off than I was before.

“May I help you?” I heard someone say.

“Help me!” Tamia called out. It didn’t take me long to realize she had pressed the call button and asked someone for help. I hopped up and walked calmly out of her room without looking back. As soon as I stepped out in the hallway, Susan ran out of the bathroom with paper towels covering her private area. Our eyes locked but only for a split second because I took off towards the exit.

“STOP HER!” I heard Susan yelling as the doors closed behind me.

“Fuck a seventy-hour hour hold,” I said out loud to myself.
I think you’re ready. Let the games begin!
