"
I
'm glad
, to be honest. Well, maybe not glad … relieved. I know I deserve it. I deserve this. I need to serve my time. All those years of hiding from the truth, it ate me up like a cancer."

"Do you think the jury took pity on you?"

"I think they wanted to. They could have given me more time than they did. They could have given me a life sentence. After all the deception, I'm surprised they didn't."

"Still seven years is a long time."

"It is. I have a lot to think about. A lot to replay in my mind."

“And how are you doing now?"

"Much better. I've been out of intensive care now for a couple of weeks. They'll be moving me to a secure facility in the coming days. Eventually I'll get a cell."

"No, I mean how are you doing? Your wife dead. Your longtime friend and confidant murdered in your home. Your stepson in prison. Your daughter taken into care."

"It's devastating. I mean, what do you want me to say … it all fell apart. Everything fell completely apart. All while I was in the hospital, out cold. Not a night goes by that I don't regret that lie though. And all those years of lying to Dylan. To the public. But now--well it was a high price, but I feel the debt will be paid."

"Big words, don't you think? Your son - Ian Cross’s son - tried to kill you."

"Even while he was attacking me--and truthfully I remember very little--even when he was attacking me I knew I deserved each one of those wounds. I thought I would die. I think I hoped so."

"What's next?"

"Nothing's next. The Morrison legacy ends, that's what's next."

"What's going to happen to the business?”

"My very capable board of directors will figure it out."

"If your wife was alive, what would you say to her?"

"Don't make me answer that."

"You don't have to."

“Maybe … maybe I would say to her—that it isn't worth it, the fame, the money, the spotlight.”

"Do you have regrets?"

“Of course. I regret everything."

"Do you have anything you want to say to Dylan?"

"I guess ... I don't know. I just have to say that I know he deserved better. He did what he could with the hand he was dealt. I just ... I never wanted him to be something he wasn’t, truly. Dylan - son - you deserved better.”

“Thank you so much for talking to us, Josh. Despite what’s happened, I’m sure the entire country will join me in wishing you well in the future. You’ll always be our hero. ”
