e were in Atlantic City. William was downstairs, gambling, and I was preparing myself for what was about to occur. Intimacy was something that normally just happened, but I knew I was going to have sex with William. However, I was very concerned about him being able to keep up with me. I never considered myself to be a freak or even a nympho, but I did know there wasn't any way I would be able to stay with him if his equipment didn't work.
I hoped he could satisfy me and didn't need pills. If he wasn't any good, we would have issues moving forward. That even sounded too stupid to say aloud, but a healthy sex life was very important. I opened the minibar. I needed a drink. I took a shot to prepare myself either way. I tried to relax. I flicked on the television with the remote. I took a nice hot shower, and when I exited, William was already waiting for me. He gently kissed me and began to pinch my nipples softly. Instantly they perked up. When he was done fondling them, he placed the pair in his mouth and began to relish and taste them. I felt like I could climax just from his kisses and his attention to my ladies. But he was just getting started.
He walked me over to the bed and peeled my legs apart and his lips were moist and delicate and he gave my pussy the best French kiss she has ever had. If his equipment didn't work, I would be happy with just his touch and his oral skills. But he took the remainder of his clothes off and placed me on his lap and made me ride his strong, hard manhood. With each stroke he assured me that it worked well and he didn't need any assistance. After he was done with me, I lay on the bed and I could see the lights of the skyline of Atlantic City and I was in awe.
I would like to say that I knocked William out, that he was tired and lay sprawled out on the floor, but none of that would be true. William actually put me to sleep, took a shower, and went back downstairs and completed his gambling. I was sore; that was what I got for underestimating him. Geneva was wrong, and I felt silly for feeding into everything she said.

arcus sent pink, red, and yellow roses to my place of business. Why? He just wanted to confuse me more. I already felt guilty for spending the night in his arms. This whole entire situation is getting crazy. The other day I was with Adam, and I was thinking about Marcus. Now I was taking in the floral arrangement in front of me, until I saw Leah reading my card. I tried to snatch the card from her, but she read it, closed my office door, and started inquiring about the sender of my flowers.
“Mr. Walker? What's going on? These are not from Adam. I hope you're not playing games with him, because he is very serious about you.”
“No. I'm serious about Adam, too.”
“Then why are strange men sending you flowers?”
“It's nothing, really. It's just my nephew's principal thanking me for coming to their career day.”
“Wasn't that a while ago?”
“Yeah, but I guess he is just getting around to thanking me.”
“Oh, good, because Adam he is very serious about you. So serious, he had Stephen and me help pick out your engagement ring. He is about to ask you to marry him. It's big, too. You're going to love it.”
“He is? But we just met.”
“That's what Stephen said. How do you think I feel? We got in a really big argument. Actually, we broke up over y'all.”
“How? Why? What do you mean you broke up, Leah?”
“Well, he said I've been putting too much pressure on him to ask me to marry him, but I said, ‘It's been two years. What are you waiting on?' And he said, ‘We need time apart.' ”
I couldn't believe she was telling me this.
“What? No. I'm so sorry, Leah.” She began to cry on my shoulder.
“It's been two of the hardest weeks of my life, and I couldn't say anything to you, because I didn't want to ruin your surprise.”
“You'll get back together.”
“I don't know. I think we are over. I never should have pressured him.”
After comforting Leah, I again had to process all the data she had given me. She had broken up with the love of her life, Adam knew I was the one after five months of dating, and Mr. Walker was sending flowers and wanted me, too. The only person that could help me sort this out and would understand how I felt was Tiffany. But she hadn't been answering her phone lately. I tried her, anyway, and miraculously, she answered.
“Tiffany, oh my God, I wish you would start answering your phone. I have so much to tell you.” I tried to give her the condensed version of my crazy life. Tiffany took it all in and laughed and said she was just as confused as I was.
Well, you know I do like Marcus, but oh well you are about to be getting married, girl. Yay! Okay, so when do you want to go dress shopping?”
“He hasn't proposed yet. I don't know, Tiffany. It's a surprise engagement. And I am beyond confused; don't you think it is too soon for marriage? And should I marry him if I'm having feelings about another man?”
“Forget about Marcus, you don't really know him. He is not ready to make a commitment to you. He probably just wants you because you are already taken.”
“You're right, but he said he is ready to get married, Tiffany. He has said everything I've been waiting for a man to say to me for years.”
“But saying it and doing it are two different things. Adam is doing, and Mr. Walker, well, we don't know yet and we will never find out 'cause I'm going to be a bridesmaid.” Tiffany started singing and then placed me on the speaker phone so Solomon could congratulate me too.
“Tell him I said thanks and I'll call you later.”

wished Leah hadn't told me that Adam had planned on proposing to me. I should be ecstatic. I had a good, healthy relationship with a man that was supposed to be proposing at any moment, yet I felt awful, and I was behaving like the world was about to come to an end. I wasn't cheating on Adam physically with Marcus. We hadn't exactly been intimate yet. But we did hold hands and we talked to each other all the time, and I had become very fond of him.
Adam invited me to dinner. Every time he went to the restroom, I kept thinking,
Here it comes, the proposal.
I wasn't sure I wanted him to propose, but I had been dreaming of a proposal since I was ten years old.
At one point Adam, who sat across from me, grabbed my hand and said, “You're the best thing that has happened to me, Dana.”
“And you, Adam, are the same.”
“I just wanted to tell you that. It's been really tough lately, and I haven't been able to spend the amount of time I would like to with you, but I'm going to make it up to you.”
“I know. I understand. So what are you going to have?” I said, changing the subject.
“I don't know. Maybe the smoked salmon.”
“Sounds good.”
“I have a surprise for you.”
“You do?”
“Yeah. What do you want to drink? Let's get a bottle of champagne.”
“Champagne?”
Oh God, here it comes. He is going to get on one knee, and I hope I remember to say yes and don't embarrass him or myself.
“What's wrong, Dana? You seem a little preoccupied. You're acting really strange.”
“I don't know.”
“Stay right here. Let me get the surprise.” He told me to close my eyes and he would be right back. I was so scared. Damn. What was he getting? My parents, a small red box, more champagne, flowers, a horse and buggy, an orchestra to play at our table? And then he said, “Open your eyes.”
I opened them and was surprised to see his mother sitting across from me. All I could get out was a muffled hi. “Hi, my city girl,” she said as she attacked me with a hug.
I couldn't say anything else.
She grabbed my hand and said, “Dana, I'm a city girl. When I was calling you a city girl, I was impressed that Adam didn't have another rich, crazy girl with no substance. I'm really sorry if it came out the wrong way. I didn't mean anything by it.”
“No, no problem.”
“And maybe you can help us with Melissa's place. She is moving here. She was accepted to the University of the Arts, so she will be a city girl soon, too.”
“That's wonderful.” I looked over at Adam. He was wearing a wide celebratory smile.
“So, sweetheart, please don't take anything I say to heart. I know I can be a meanie at times.”
“Now that both my favorite ladies are here, let's celebrate,” Adam poured from the bottle of champagne that was on the table and said, “Mom isn't she beautiful? One day I'm going to marry her.” His mother did not object and just smiled. We exchanged I love yous and enjoyed our dinner.
Adam didn't propose tonight, but something better happened. I realized I had a great guy that I wasn't going to give up. Just being in Adam's presence brought me joy. I was so happy for so many reasons. We went back to his place, and I made up for almost cheating on him. I kneeled down in front of him and kissed each spot on his thigh. Once I reached his smooth peach rod shape dick, I devoured it taking long deep, intense, pulls with my cheeks. As my head moved side to side and up and down his lap, he slid my panties off and inserted two of his fingers and moist warm fluids gushed down my legs. And when I thought I couldn't take anymore, he flipped me over, held open my lips with his finger, and let his tongue give my insides a lashing. I was so excited, I released immediately again. He then picked me up and was carrying me to the shower when my phone started ringing a bunch of times like it was an emergency.
“Turn your phone off and meet me in the shower.” Adam stepped in the shower, and I ran to my bag to answer my phone.
“Why haven't I heard from you today?” Marcus asked. I was so nervous I dropped the phone. I picked it up off the floor, then hung it up again and he called right back.
Mr. Walker, stop calling me,
I thought when the phone rang.
Marcus, leave me alone.
I answered the phone.
“Listen, you have to stop calling me.”
“Why is that?”
“Because I can't see you anymore. I'm in love with a great man that is going to propose to me and it is not right if I'm still seeing you when it happens.”
“So you are going to give up on us just like that?”
“I'm not giving up on us. There is no us, Mr. Walker.”
“Mr. Walker, huh? Dana, won't you come out and meet me. You've been on my mind. I can't stop thinking about you.” He was being really persistent, and I didn't like it.
“Stop it. Please stop it. Okay? Stop all of this. The calls, the flowers, the shows. I'm taken.”
“Dana, I want you to be mine. A few months is not a real relationship. We are destined to be together. You know that, right? You are the type of woman I have dreamed of, and you would make a great wife and be a great mother to our children. Dump your boyfriend, and develop what we have further.”
“Are you serious? I can't do that. As I told you before, I am in a serious relationship. Besides there are plenty of single women in this city. Go find one.”
“You're probably right, but I want you.”
“You want me,” I laughed. “Please don't contact me anymore.”
“Okay if that's what you want, but you can break up with him tomorrow and you'll be so upset that you never got to see the potential of what we can be.”
“No, I won't have any regrets. Goodbye.” I peeked in the bathroom to see if Adam had overheard any of my conversation. He hadn't. I turned off the phone, slipped out of the rest of my clothes, and joined Adam in the shower.

verything familywise and with William had been wonderful. Mercedes and Jalena acted like they were separated at birth. They really acted like twins and couldn't take a day apart from one another. Brandon was still doing really well. Service Air didn't get back to me, so I accepted William's offer to manage the restaurant, and it was going okay. I'd made some mistakes, or had some learning experiences, as William liked to call them. I could not do any wrong in his eyes, anyway. I ordered too many cases of lettuce. They were a good price, but I forgot that lettuce didn't have a long shelf life. Then I didn't order enough wings and sauce for Decker College's alumni weekend.
Other than that, I would give myself a B-. I'd made a few changes so far. The staff liked me. I'd changed their uniforms and I'd added complimentary breadsticks to the menu. I'd been approaching everything with the thought,
What would I appreciate, and how do I like to be treated?
Today I had Dana come in to give us her ideas on what else we should change. She brought Adam with her. They were such a cute couple. I was happy my sister had found someone who really loved her. They sampled things off the new menu, and then Dana began giving me some of her thoughts. Adam was silent, but his steady smacking was assuring me he was enjoying the food.
“Vette, these appetizers are good, but like, everyone doesn't want all this high-fat, caloric food. People are trying to be more health conscious. I would include some vegetarian dishes and more salads on the menu. I think you should register with the site Daily Deals, and I will call someone I know over at NBC Ten to see if you can be featured on
Neighborhood Eats
.”
I nodded. “That would be good. Now, tell me more about Daily Deals. And what do you think, Adam?”
“I think everything is great. I'll have to bring my mother and sister here.”
My phone began ringing. I excused myself from the table and took the call. The number looked familiar, but I couldn't remember the voice when I heard it.
“How you doing, Yvette? This is Mr. Jimmy's daughter, Ebony.” Why was she calling me? I was paid up on my rent, and I didn't have any repairs that needed to be taken care of.
“I'm fine. I'm at work.” I needed her to say whatever she had to say quickly.
“Well, I have some news for you. My dad is ill. He's in the hospital, and I'm going to be taking over all the properties.”
“Is he going to be okay?”
“Eventually, yes, but unfortunately, I don't want the responsibility of being a landlord, so I'm selling all my dad's buildings. The new owners are willing to renew leases with all the current tenants, and I wanted to call you and give you that option.”
“Well, that's something I'm going to have to think about. Is it okay if I give you a call later?”
“Sure, but I'm going to need a definite answer by the end of the month.” I told her I would think it over and call her. Now, I had something else to think about it.
