Carlos wasn't waiting for an
answer and he put his hand at her back as they both entered the
shabby lobby. She was left alone by the elevator, which was broken,
as he confirmed their reservation, and silently walked up the stairs
to the second floor, Morgan's heeled boots clicking loudly with each
slow step that she took.
The
first small door on the left turned out to be their room, and Morgan
saw that the man was more than familiar with his surroundings. They
walked in and he went to the left and reached behind an old wicker
chair to turn on the light.
You may be new with Julianne,
but you're not new to this.
She
moved out of the way quickly as she watched him navigate the small
room when their driver barged in with her bags. She also noticed
that he did not, in fact, bring bags for Carlos. Maybe that was the
reason for knowing the room so well, his things were already there.
No, he checked in just now...
“Make yourself
comfortable,” he said with a sneer. “I'm going for a
drink, I'll be back later tonight.” He looked at his driver
and nodded, then the two men left the room just as quickly as they
had entered.
She looked at the closed door
for several moments, then down to the filthy brown carpet beneath her
feet. A ceiling fan, on its last leg, was wobbling and crying out
above her head, and its tune mixed horribly with the dripping faucet
in the tiny bathroom to her right. Morgan let out a loud sigh and
took the few steps to the bed, and plopped down hard on the loud
mattress.
“What the hell did I get
myself into?”
Chapter Two
Morgan scanned the room again.
“Guess I won't be unpacking anything this time...” There
was only one dresser that held four drawers and one of them was
hanging out a few inches more than the others. Out of curiosity, the
girl got up to examine. “Oh, holy shit! That's disgusting!”
Inside of the drawer was a pair of woman's panties and two obviously
used condoms. She slammed the drawer shut again, then kicked it when
it wouldn't go into place.
“I need to call
Julianne!” As soon as she said the words, she pulled her phone
out of her back pocket and walked back to the bed. Before pressing
the button though, she stopped herself. “No. No, I won't do
that. It's just my job. C'mon, get yourself together.” She ran
her fingers over the edge of the phone and thought for a moment.
“He's just not very friendly, that's all. Remember, they don't
all need to be my friend.”
When Morgan's phone rang in her
hands, she dropped it to the floor, and when she picked it up and saw
the face on the front, she nearly dropped it again. “Angel!”
“Sticky Buns, I know
you're traveling today and I didn't get my phone call. What the fuck,
Boo Boo? Where are you?” His happy voice calmed her nerves and
she took a deep breath before explaining.
“I'm in Portugal. Just
met my new client, Carlos...”
“Mhmm. That don't sound
like the happy Morgan who just met a man that she's going to go
running with them big ass cows with.” She could picture the man
in her head and knew that his
mhmm
had probably gone alongside
with a hand to the hip and she smiled to herself, imagining the
image.
“Angel! It's running with
the bulls and that's in Spain!”
“Same thing,” his
usual reply when Morgan corrected him. “Wait, you just met him
and you answered my phone call. Something's definitely not right
here. Spill it.”
“He's gone out for a
drink. I don't know about this, Angel. He's just...he's not very
nice,” Morgan explained.
“Not nice to you?
Everyone is nice to you, Sticky! Who the fuck do I need to call?”
His voice was calm so Morgan didn't catch onto his true concern.
Someone not nice to his Sticky Buns was not something to take
lightly.
“Oh, it's okay. Maybe I'm
just tired and being too sensitive about it. I'm sure it's fine...”
Morgan looked around the room as she spoke.
Yeah. Just fine,
Morgan.
Angel sighed loudly,
still not convinced, but he told her to keep him posted. Morgan
promised she would and she let him get back to Prince G, who she
could hear in the background. Not that she could understand his
words, but it was definitely him.
When she hung up the phone, her
world switched back to the reality of the dying ceiling fan and
leaking faucet. It took a bit of convincing to herself, but she
decided a shower might help her feel better. “Wow...”
For the first time in a few
months that she had seen a new bathroom, her 'wow' was not because of
its beauty or extravagance, but in horror and disgust. It was tiny,
one of the smallest bathrooms she had ever seen, even smaller than
the bathroom she had back in her old apartment. There wasn't even a
bathtub for the option of soaking and she could have written her name
in the soap scum on the wall. Behind the toilet was a phone number
carved into the paint, and the carpet she was standing on sloshed
with the step of her boot. The whole floor was soaked, and it
appeared to be coming from the bottom of the leaky sink.
Morgan was sure there had to be
a peephole somewhere. Someone was surely watching her, and there were
hidden cameras, there had to be. “I'm being PUNK'D, right?”
She laughed nervously, then covered her face as the frustration and
tears built. There were no cameras. There was no reality T.V. show.
Just Morgan, and her own deafening reality.
The fact that he had brought no
bags finally made sense. A man like that would never stay in a place
like Motel Hell. Never. It wouldn't have mattered if he had to travel
four hours for a room.
He won't be staying...
she realized.
“I'm truly only here for his
companionship.
” Just
saying the words out loud brought the tears to the forefront and they
felt burning hot against the skin of her cheeks.
Morgan quickly rubbed them away
and straightened up. “Okay, this is fine...I'll..uhm...fix
this...” The girl spent the next hour making the place a bit
more comfortable. She figured if she was going to be spending a lot
of alone time there over the next week, she might as well make it
livable. The young girl had bravely gone back down the front desk and
asked for cleaning supplies...of course, the man had no idea what she
was saying and offered zero assistance. She took matters into her own
hands and with a little investigating, Morgan found the cleaning
closet-which of course, had a broken padlock.
She had taken three bottles of
cleaners; going by the pictures, she could tell one was for the
bathroom, one for glass and one for wood, and took them back up to
her room, along with a dozen rags.
After the bathroom was as clean
as it could get and all the furniture was dusted, Morgan took matters
into her own hands again. If the place hadn't bothered to clean the
bathroom, she was sure the bedsheets weren't clean either. All she
had in mind was a shower and sleep, and until both of those were
clean, she couldn't do either. She gathered up all of the linen, then
went downstairs and found the tiny laundry room. There were two
washers, and one dryer. The larger of the two washers had a sign on
it with a red circle and line going through it, claiming that it was
out of service.
“Well, I only need one
anyway...” Thankfully, there was a bottle of detergent with
just enough to wash the load of blankets and sheets. She poured the
liquid in, turned on the washer, then went back upstairs to the room.
While she waited for the linen
to wash, she spruced up the room a bit more with some rearranging and
organizing. There wasn't even a television to watch, and there
certainly wasn't WiFi, so at that point, she was only trying to keep
herself entertained. She opened the two small windows on the far wall
to bring some fresh air into the room, then tied the curtains back
with one of her scarves. “Little better...” Morgan took a
step back and examined the room again. The wicker chair had been
moved to the other side of the room and the dresser moved to the
place by the door. She set the newly dusted lamp on top of it and
plugged it in; surprisingly it worked.
She was happy with herself. The
room was still shitty, but with her efforts, she'd made it a lot less
shitty. Morgan had also fixed the leak under the sink...well, she had
used the old technique of duct tape and a miracle, but it had at
least stopped the incessant dripping. She had also spritzed the room
with her favorite perfume, which helped with the musty-smoke odor
that had filled it before.
After she threw her bedding in
the dryer, Morgan finally took the time to get a shower. As expected
the water was anything but warm, so she made it the quickest shower
of her life. The room had cooled off drastically, as the temperature
outside wasn't necessarily warm either. As soon as her warm sheets
and blankets were on the bed, the exhausted girl turned off the noisy
fan and finally laid down. In mere minutes, she was asleep.
*****
“Wake up.” Carlos
pulled the blanket down, wondering why his woman would put on a tank
top and shorts when she should know that clothing isn't necessary at
night. In fact, it was a hindrance to what he had in mind. Morgan's
mind focused quickly, and the smell of the room, mixed with the smell
of alcohol, brought her eyes wide open.
“Carlos...uh...what time
is it?” Her sleepy voice didn't slow him down. He was already
leaning against the wall with one hand, and pulling his shoes off
with the other. She closed her eyes briefly, willing herself to stay
calm and just get through it.
Okay, he's drunk. It'll be short
and sweet, then hopefully he'll fall asleep. Or pass out. Oh!
Maybe he'll pass out while he's doing it!
Morgan actually smiled
at herself, then her face took on a more serious expression when she
saw the man had finally removed all of his clothes.
You remind me
of my pinky toe.
Tanner's words made her struggle to maintain
her serious look.
Except, my pinky toe is bigger.
She tried
not look at his undersized manhood, but he had moved to the side of
the bed and it was only a foot from her face.
Don't stare,
Morgan. Don't look at it!
She faced the front of the room while
he got in bed beside her.
“Are you going to take
them off?” The drunk man pulled on the strap of her tank as he
settled in right next to her. Morgan nodded, then pulled her top
over her head, then removed her shorts. Her smile kept threatening
to return at the thought, once again, that he would pass out before
it was over.
She dropped back onto the bed,
and braced herself for his drunken groping.
Don't think about it,
don't think about it...Angel! I'll think about Angel! Running with
the cows...oh..I miss you.
The groping that she had
expected didn't happen, he actually dove right in, literally. He had
rolled on top of her, leaving far too much of his weight on her small
frame for comfort, and had entered her without as much as a word of
foreplay. It was shocking at first, but she thought how strange it
was that she would rather feel his small tool invading her as opposed
to feeling his hands on her. At least, his penis would be easy to
ignore.
Pinky toe HAHAHA
Her
stomach actually moved with stifled laughter as she failed with the
attempt at keeping herself in line, but luckily he didn't even notice
as he started moving faster in his quest for release.
What are
you, a freaking rabbit? Well, you'll be done in no ti....
“Yes...!”
His orgasm was announced loudly in her ear, and again, she did her
best not to smile at his forty-three seconds of achievement. The
proud man rolled off of her, then left the bed to retrieve his
clothes. Morgan remained quiet as she looked the other way and tried
to find interest in a busted neon sign across the street. Her
attention finally returned when she heard the door knob turn.
“Are you leaving again?”
He wasn't exactly the type of guy that she wanted to cuddle up
against all night, but there was a ray of hope that she wouldn't have
to stay in the flea bag hotel alone.
“I'll be back tomorrow,
there's a key on the dresser if you need it.” The asshole
didn't even look in her direction when he answered her, and he walked
out the door without even a token 'goodbye.'
“Dick!” Her word
came out as more of a growl than a word, but she felt better after
letting it out. She sat on the bed for a few moments, listening for
footsteps in the hallway. “You're really not coming back, are
you?” Morgan shook her head and pushed her fallen hair back
from her face. She had no idea what time it was, of course there
wasn't a clock anywhere to be seen, but she didn't care. Morgan felt
dirty, and even though soap and water wouldn't clean the memory of
pinky toe, she could at least get his stench from her body. She got
up quickly and ran for the bathroom, where she endured four minutes
of cold water as she scrubbed the man away.
When she got out of the
bathroom, Morgan thought of Angel and she grabbed her phone on the
way back to bed. “Oh my Angel, you'll just worry.” She
held the phone against her bottom lip as she decided not to call him.
Not to mention, she wasn't even sure of the time difference. “I
can do this. Yes, he's a jerk. But I got this.” Her private
pep talk in the dark helped enough to get her to lay back down, with
her phone still in her hand, and she eventually fell back asleep.
