As the evening wore on, she now was feeling quite sorry for herself. She had opened up one of her private zip files and stared at the happy memories that flipped from picture to picture in their sequence, frame by frame, an endless stream of once happy times, with someone who had once held her heart. But she had pushed him away too, like all the others. She liked to look at these pictures. They reminded her of how human she was.

She stared at the montage of pictures; her fingers softly stroked the image on the screen, of a man fast asleep. The man, who once filled her with so much passion, she thought she would burst. There he was a reminder of a time when she was alive. That man alone, made the blood pump through her veins. Her stomach lurched; it always did when she thought of him.

She jerked herself out of the image of that morning when she had taken that picture. That morning had been one of the happiest she had ever known. It had been a blissfully hot sultry night, filled with copious amounts of dirty sex, although sex wouldn’t have been the word to describe it, it was making love, or the only thing she could compare it to. He had been unaware of this photo’s existence. She had worried about him waking up with the flash of the camera. It had, but had ended up with them making love for a whole hour. It had been the last morning they had shared as it was also the start of the operation of Mr. Nichols extraction, which had meant that she was housed in the office until the lads came home. That week her world had been turned upside down in more ways than one…
