Chapter One

Back to life, back to reality

Nuke leaned against the wall of the garage and watched Jasmine as she bent over and gently wiped a smear from her 2009 Harley Davidson Sportster Iron 833 with the custom black and red paint job and Harley Quinn on the tank. It was his Christmas gift to her last year.

Harley Quinn was a nickname that Pipe started calling her one night when all three of them had gone to a local bar. Nuke had gotten into an argument with an intoxicated man who wanted to prove he could take on a Hells Viper. The man’s wife attempted to hit Nuke over the head with a beer bottle from behind while he was fighting her husband. Jasmine intervened. Pipe soon followed in the brawl because he never let a brother fight alone. It did amuse him as Jasmine punched the wife several times. Pipe said Nuke and Jasmine were two of a kind like the Joker and Harley Quinn. Jasmine loved the Harley Quinn comparison and had taken it on with enthusiasm.

Their year and a half of marriage felt like one minute for Nuke. Jasmine was the most beautiful woman he’d ever seen, inside and out. They meshed together and nothing was going to come between them. He was going to make sure of that. He vowed with every fiber of his being to keep her safe and out of harm’s reach from anything that his life in the Hells Vipers Motorcycle Club might bring. Before they were married, he’d nearly lost her at the hands of a member of a rival club, the Grave Walkers, and that had traumatized him.

She flipped her long black hair back behind her shoulder as she stood up and looked over at him. “What are you smiling at?” she asked.

“I’m getting jealous of a motorcycle,” he joked. His eyes roamed seductively up and down her body.

“I’ll always ride you more, baby, I promise!” Jasmine said with a sexy grin as she strolled toward him. She reached up and wrapped her arms around his neck. Nuke captured her mouth and she opened wide and let his tongue dive in.

His hands traveled down her body until he gripped her ass. Her nipples were getting hard as they rubbed up against his chest. Nuke’s rock-hard cock pressed against her thigh. God, I love this man, she thought. The only thing that had changed for her since she and Nuke got married was that she loved him even more. She saw his flaws and he saw hers. They accepted each other for who they were.

They both let out a low moan as his hand aggressively slid back up her body and he grabbed her round breasts. He squeezed and pulled at her nipples through her T-shirt. Then he took her by the hand and led her over to his motorcycle, where he slid up onto the seat. He grabbed her wrist and pulled her in close. “Climb on top of me!” he ordered her.

Holding onto his muscular arms, Jasmine slid across him. Her insides still became jittery when he looked at her with those dominating blue eyes of his.

“Beg me not to use you like a whore in public,” Nuke whispered into her ear and then licked her neck.

Though there were times, quite a few actually, when Nuke still threw her off balance, this wasn’t one of those occasions. He wanted her timid, fragile and resisting his advances.

“Baby, don’t! I don’t want anyone to see us,” she whimpered as she pretended to nervously look around.

“I don’t give a fuck what you want.” His tone was sensual yet harsh.

She looked into his lust-filled, angry eyes, and she couldn’t stop the arousal that was shooting through her body. She was more than willing to always give Nuke what he wanted when he wanted it. She fought against his advances as she strained to rise up off of him, but he gripped her around the waist and held her in place.

Her hands pressed against his shoulders, pushing him back. They struggled as Jasmine had one foot on the ground and another draped across his thighs.  “Nuke, stop! Don’t treat me like this, please!”

The shakiness in her voice caused him to pause their game. He thought for a moment that she was genuinely upset. He’d never hurt her that way. She trusted him and he wouldn’t betray that. He looked into her eyes and he only saw the love she had for him. He grinned with a slight laugh.
Damn, she’s getting good at this,
he thought.

Unzipping her jeans, he slid his hand down into her panties, thrusting a finger deep inside her. He used his thumb to massage her clit. “You belong to me!”

Jasmine leaned forward, balancing herself on his shoulders. Her lips twitched as she moaned. “Nuke, st… stop! Don’t!” She slowly closed her eyes as she buried her head on his shoulder. The smell of leather filled her nostrils.

“Who does this pussy belong to?”

“It belongs to you, baby,” Jasmine whispered into his ear.

“That’s right. It’s my fucking pussy. I will fuck you whenever and wherever I feel like it!” He pushed another finger into her wet cunt. “Look at me! Let me see those beautiful eyes of yours, you fucking whore!”

She pushed against his chest.

“Beg, you fucking slut!” he said loud enough that if anyone was within ear shot, they heard.

He nibbled on her neck as he flicked her clit. She cried out loud and rubbed against his hand, matching his movements. He pushed deeper and faster in and out of her. “I own every part of you!” he growled. “You better not have an orgasm until I give you permission to! You understand me?”

“Ye…yes. Yes, Sir!”

They locked eyes as her climax teetered on exploding. Jasmine bit down into his leather cut, muffling her moaning. As she tried hard to hold back her orgasm, they locked lips.

The roaring of a motorcycle approaching could not penetrate their erotic world.

“The two of you should let people join,” Pipe interrupted as he parked his motorcycle right next to Nuke’s. “The more the merrier!”

“FUCK, PIPE! SHIT!” Nuke screamed out loud and threw back his head in frustration. He quickly removed his hand from Jasmine’s pants. “You have bad fucking timing. Asshole!” He protectively held onto Jasmine as he glared at Pipe. “I’m not sharing shit with you or anyone else!” He said as he licked her juices from his fingers.

Jasmine burrowed her unfulfilled face into his leather.

“I’m aware!” Pipe grumbled, and he genuinely meant what he said. He didn’t let his mini-crush for Jasmine get out hand. He had no doubt in his mind that Nuke would destroy him if he let it get the best of him. The occasional flirtation was okay, but Pipe had promised himself he’d never let it go beyond that. Plus, he had too much respect for the both of them.

Jasmine kissed Nuke on the cheek before climbing off of him and zipping her jeans up. She glared over at Pipe and shook her head. “I think you did that on purpose!” she frowned.

Pipe shrugged his shoulders with a reserved smile. “Maybe I did, maybe I didn’t.”

“I’m sorry, babe,” Nuke said as he rose up off of his bike. “We can finish this up at home. Let me check on a few things first, then we can leave.”

Before Jasmine could respond, Medic ran over to where they were parked. He ran his hand through his brownish-blonde short hair. He was a full patch member now and an asset to the club. “Nuke, I’m glad you’re back. We got problems!”

“I don’t know how that man is still breathing,” Medic informed Nuke as all of them walked toward the main building. “The bullet passed right through him, missing all of his vital organs. The dogs sure as hell should have ripped him to shreds but they didn’t. I think we might need to look into getting new guard dogs; they’re acting odd. It’s almost like they were drugged with something. Anyway, there’s a lot of blood over at the fence on the east side of the compound,” Medic said as he pointed. “He made it to the boneyard before he passed out and that’s where we found him.”

“Apparently, we need a new fence, too!” Nuke shouted.

“He didn’t bleed all over the bike parts in the boneyard, did he?” Pipe was straining to look in the direction of the boneyard in the dark.

“Yeah, Pipe, he’s been shot so yep, he was bleeding all over the bike parts,” Medic responded mockingly.

“That sucks. Now we have to hose everything off,” Pipe grumbled. “We can get the prospects to clean in the morning. I need some of those pieces for the bike I’m rebuilding.”

“The bike you’ve been rebuilding for five years?” Nuke asked.

“We got bigger problems than bloody bike parts in the boneyard,” Jasmine mumbled to herself, but her voice was louder than she intended.

“True that!” Medic replied as he glanced back at her. “Anyway, like I was saying, the dogs were acting weird, whimpering more than barking. None of them took a chunk out of him. If Ice and Vince hadn’t been getting their dicks sucked, they probably would have shot him. He really should be dead; he’s a damn lucky man.”

A long drawn-out heavy sigh escaped from Nuke. Mitch and Toby and a few others were out on a run down to southern Indiana. After everything that happened because of Cindy, Kevin had stepped down as Sergeant at Arms. He would have been voted down if he hadn’t volunteered to do so. Kevin was going to have to earn his way back up to the top officers list. He was now Road Captain, Nuke’s old position. One that Nuke wished he still held.

Unfortunately for Nuke, he’d been voted in as Sergeant at Arms against his very loud protests. It was where Mitch and the other members wanted him. Anyone else would have been proud to know that Mitch and the club had that much faith in him. Nuke, on the other hand, didn’t agree.

He and Jasmine wanted to start a family and only Jasmine knew that he was thinking about making some other changes. He loved the club atmosphere most of the time, but his priorities were a different now. He needed to speak with Mitch about things soon. Mitch was like the father he always wanted, and Jasmine was supportive no matter what he decided to do.

“Where’s Kevin or anybody else?” Nuke griped. He wanted to leave and let this be someone else’s problem. He should have gone with Mitch; at least then he wouldn’t have to deal with this. The last thing they needed was a wounded civilian on club property.

“I sent one of the prospects over to the outer buildings to see if he’s still here. The more pressing issue is the woman we found just outside of the fence. Her, she wasn’t so lucky – dead as a doornail.”

Jasmine gasped and they all immediately stopped walking toward the main building. They turned around to stare at her. Medic shot a quick glance at Nuke. He couldn’t read him, and that was unnerving. Then again, he couldn’t read Nuke ninety-nine percent of the time.

Nuke pulled her in close. “Baby, I want you to go straight home. It’s late, so don’t stop anywhere alright? I’ll be home, when I can.”

“I can help. I can take a look at the man who’s been shot,” Jasmine said and she meant it. She’d entered this life with her eyes wide open.

“NO!” Nuke said in a loud, firm voice. He immediately reached out and gently touched the side of her face. He hadn’t meant to sound as harsh as he had. “Jasmine, baby, I need you to go home. I have to see what we’re dealing with. I don’t want you to be part of this.” When the club members had basic medical needs, that was one thing. This was a whole other ball game. He’d be damned if she was going to get caught in another shit storm.

Jasmine let out a breath of frustration as they exchanged looks and unspoken words crossed between them. “Alright,” she said and gave him a long kiss that expressed everything she was feeling. She was always worried about Nuke’s safety. She felt better when she was near him even if she couldn’t help him out in any way. The thought of something awful happening to him was unbearable. Jasmine was afraid Cindy had been right when she’d said most men like Nuke either died young or ended up doing life in prison.

“Text me when you get home so I can know that you’re safe,” Nuke said as he held onto her hand.

“I will.” She forced a smile.

“Make sure you lock up!” he added.

Jasmine nodded her head. “I always do, honey. Don’t worry! You do what you need to do here. I’ll be fine.”

He reluctantly let go of her hand. Words escaped him as he stood there and watched her walk over to her motorcycle. An eerie feeling crept up and down his spine. Shit was about to start up again. He could feel it in his gut. “Tell me about this dead woman.” He was straightforward with his question as he watched Jasmine start up her bike and slowly ride to the main gate. She glanced back over her shoulder at them.

He didn’t need to see her pretty face to know that it was covered with distress. His heart began to pound in his chest. He hated the thought of her riding home by herself. She was a decent rider, but a woman alone on the streets at 2 a.m. wasn’t a good thing. He motioned for the hang around, a kid who was standing outside the main building looking overwhelmed and confused.

“Follow her home for me. Make sure she gets in safe. Then you need to go home!”  He was inflexible with his orders.

The eager, red-haired hang around who went by the name Rocket raced to his motorcycle, while responding with a firm, “Al-rightly.”

“He annoys the hell out of me,” Nuke mumbled as he watched Rocket attempt to start up his bike but fail.

“I don’t know; he’s kind of a good kid to have around for a laugh,” Pipe said.

“I hate the name Rocket, makes him sound like a cartoon character.” Nuke was suddenly regretting his decision to tell the hang around to follow Jasmine home. She’d end up protecting him if anything did happen. He looked around the compound to see who else was outside. He should send someone more reliable.
