“Fae, you have to stop this before it gets any worse,” pleaded Felicia.

“Let him kill me! Let him banish me,” said Fae resentfully.

“No! Whatever he does to you, he has to do to me, too.”

Gavin’s stomach clenched. Despite their interlude, Felicia would choose her sister if push came to shove. Which it had. He’d never had anyone who was that unconditionally loyal to him. For a moment, he was jealous, but then he shook his head, bringing himself back to reality – Fae was her sister, her blood, her family. Felicia may say she loved him, but he’d done nothing to prove he was worthy of that kind of loyalty. Not yet, anyway.

He shook Fae in the air until her teeth rattled, and Felicia gasped in distress, but the bolts of energy promptly subsided. He tugged her back over the roof ledge, but kept her suspended.

“Do you see what your sister is willing to do for you? She’s willing to give up her life, her friends, her powers, all for you. You think I vetoed your vote out of some personal dislike, Fae? You’re wrong. I vetoed it because you’re
young.
There’s more to leadership than popularity. You can’t see it yet, but you have so much to learn. And challenging a fully mature warlock with centuries more experience than you is proof of that. You have huge potential, but if you continue this reckless behavior, someone’s going to disintegrate you before you get a chance to prove it.”

Fae pouted, but Gavin noted with relief that she seemed to be considering his words. He set her down.

“Say you’re sorry, Fae. Withdraw the challenge,” whispered Felicia.

“I withdraw the challenge,” muttered Fae sulkily, and Felicia sagged with relief.

“What about the punishment?” yelled someone from the crowd.

Gavin’s neck felt hot as the sisters turned fear-filled eyes to him. And so did their audience.

Oh, this is going to suck
, he thought.

At least she’d withdrawn the challenge – he wouldn’t have to kill her. But if he simply let her go, every young idiot who disliked one of his rulings would step up to try and take him down. The magical community was volatile and, underneath its civilized façade, strength and power still had a tendency to hold sway over diplomacy, unfortunately. Banishment was the right thing to do, but Felicia would insist on being banished as well, and Gavin couldn’t face that. Suddenly, his introverted private life with the occasional meaningless sexual partner seemed unbearable.

The thought of never tasting Felicia’s lips, or her sweet silver nipples again, caused him physical pain. The thought of losing her bright laugh and the way she teased his grumpiness away was an arrow to the heart. She was still glowing, clad in
his
shirt in front of a dozen witnesses, for God’s sake. He wasn’t going to let her go without a fight.

“What are you going to do to us?” breathed Fae, clearly terrified.

“The infraction calls for
one
punishment, not two,” muttered Gavin lamely.

Felicia’s eyes widened, and she snapped her fingers. A heavy book fell into her hands, old and musty. She quickly flipped through the pages, stopping midway through.

“Then I volunteer to take my sister’s punishment,” she said, “It’s an old custom, but perfectly legal.”

Gavin felt fury curling through his abdomen. Uncaring of who was watching, he yanked her close.

You
didn’t do anything wrong,” he gritted.

“I can survive. Fae won’t,” said Felicia, “And besides, I ensorcelled and enraptured you. Temporarily at least. That’s grounds for punishment.”

“That’s different.”

A young woman in a tight red dress and jaunty cat ears stepped up, and Gavin recognized her as Gwindle, the Council Librarian.

“In the old days, the punishment fit the crime. If Felicia enraptured you, it only stands to reason that you should return the favor for a period of time. If she insists on taking on her sister’s punishment as well, just extend the sentence.”

“I’ll do it,” said Felicia, blushing.

“No!” gasped Fae.

Gavin’s stomach sank, knowing he had no choice here. He had to humiliate them both to save her.

“Felicia Dawes will voluntarily become enraptured to me for a period of three months, after which she and her sister will both be free from any consequence of these actions. Fair?”

Plenty of nods and grins from the crowd, and Gavin fought the urge to roll his eyes. Being enraptured meant little more than being a sex slave, and even if he never touched her again, the community would assume she was begging for his cock day and night. Worst of all, Gavin realized that if he ever wanted another chance with her, he couldn’t have her around. Her little smitten spell going haywire had showed him the depth of their attraction for each other, and the last thing he wanted was to have that tainted by an inability to say no, magical or not.

His balls were going to be very blue for the next few months.

Felicia stepped up, chin up, pride in every graceful line.

“I’m ready,” she said.

“Not here,” said Gavin.

There was a chorus of protests, but Gavin wasn’t about to give them anymore of a show than they’d already had. With one stern look and a raised eyebrow, the onlookers vanished down the stairs. Gavin turned to Fae.

“Don’t think you’re getting off so easily. As of this moment, your sister is on leave. In her absence, you will take on her duties in the PR department. You will work hard, you will represent your family and this coven to the best of your ability, and if you put one little toe out of line, I will send you down the Amazon on an extensive mystical slime-gathering expedition.”

Fae nodded, eyes wide.

“What are you going to do to Felicia?” she asked, worried.

“Just what she deserves,” said Gavin.

FELICIA FINISHED DRYING HER hair and clipped it back, and then tightened the belt of her borrowed robe before stepping out of the lavish bathroom of Gavin’s condo. His bedroom was a warm, masculine space of deep reds and browns, very comfortable. She’d glanced wistfully at the big bed as he bustled her into the bathroom with a stern order to shower and get warm. It was so easy to imagine waking up curled in Gavin’s arms, feeling safe and secure.

She wasn’t sure what she was doing here.

Gavin had been silent on the way back, and his bodyguards in the front seat made intimate conversation somewhat awkward, so Felicia had simply let him pull her into the car, sitting as far away from her as he could in the enclosed space. Awkward. He’d taken her like he couldn’t get enough on the roof, but now that he was going to be stuck with her for three months, maybe he was having second thoughts.

Enraptured.

The word made her shiver. Stronger than a smitten spell, being enraptured would ensure that all she thought about was sex – any way he wanted, anytime. Nothing was too extreme or off limits, and though Felicia was sure Gavin wouldn’t take it too far, the thought of losing her free will, even to
Gavin
, made her anxious. A spear of regret lanced her as she remembered that she’d done exactly the same thing to him on the roof.

Time to take your medicine, Felicia.

Gavin was waiting for her, sitting in an armchair in the corner of the room, and Felicia was surprised to see a pile of suitcases on the floor next to him. He’d changed from his elegant suit into worn jeans that fit him like a glove and an old t-shirt.

God, so hot.

His black eyes gave nothing away.

“Going somewhere?” she asked.

“No, but you are,” replied Gavin.

Felicia frowned.

“But, the spell –”

“Fuck the spell. If they all want to think I’ve got you magically drugged, waiting on me hand and foot, twenty-four seven, for the next three months, let them. I’m sending you somewhere you won’t have to deal with all that crap.”

“That’s dishonest,” said Felicia, but scanned the brochure he handed her, eyes widening.

The resort was in French Polynesia, a million miles from anywhere, five-star beach luxury all the way.
Some punishment.

But –

“I don’t know about this, Gavin. I’m willing to accept the spell.”

Gavin thrust his hands through his hair, frustrated.

“I know you are. I’m not. I don’t want you to want me because you have no choice, and I don’t think I’m strong enough to have you around, desperate for me to touch you because magic told you to.”

Warmth exploded in Felicia’s heart.

Oh, Gavin.

“I don’t want to spend three months on an island by myself,” she murmured.

“There will be other people there. Just be careful with the magic. They’re all mortal.”

Felicia toyed with the belt of the robe, pleased when he noticed the movement, his body tensing.

“You’re right, maybe I’ll meet some nice human. He can keep me company and rub sunscreen all over me and hold my hand when we walk down the beach.”

Gavin’s jaw ticked, and Felicia smothered a grin.

“Do you remember when I told my sister that I loved you?”

“That was just…it was the heat of the moment.”

“Ah,” said Felicia, and undid the belt, “If you say so.”

Slowly, she let the robe slip off her shoulders, leaving her naked, thrilled when he gripped the armchair as though trying to avoid reaching for her.

“If you won’t cast that spell on me, Gavin, I’m just going to have to ensorcell myself to you without magic. It’s the right thing to do.”

“And how are you going to manage that?”

Felicia deliberately reached up to pull the clips from her hair, letting it tumble down, and Gavin groaned. She closed the gap between them and stepped between his spread thighs, sinking to her knees. The bulge of his cock was imprisoned behind denim, and Felicia traced it with one nail, pleased with how he hissed.

“I’ll have to spend the next three months convincing you that you are everything I really want.”

Felicia began undoing the buttons of his jeans as Gavin struggled to maintain some semblance of disinterest.

“That’s going to be tough if I’m thousands of miles away,” she added.

Gavin’s cock sprang free, hard and huge, and Felicia’s hair made a beeline for it, wrapping the shaft in silken silver that pulsed and squeezed until Gavin whimpered.

“So, you’re just going to have to come with me,” said Felicia, and scraped her fingers up his thighs through the denim as her hair tugged his cock toward her lips.

“Whatever you want,” said Gavin absently, eyes glued to her mouth.

Felicia pressed a gentle kiss to the head and then lapped daintily at a bead of precum, humming her delight. She might have to spend every day convincing him of their future together, but it was going to be fun.

“I want you in my mouth,” she whispered, and Gavin groaned.

“Then take me in, my sweet witch,” he ordered.

Felicia complied, rubbing her lips against the sensitive spot on the underside before opening wide to accept the full press of his fat crown. It had been quite a while since she’d given head, and this was definitely hotter than anything she remembered. Felicia pressed her thighs together to alleviate the molten ache as Gavin filled her mouth.

“Wet and hot,” he muttered.

Felicia took her time, laving every surface and tormenting him with languid sucks as he sank to the back of her mouth. She tugged at his jeans until he lifted his hips, letting her pull them down to give her more room to play.

“I could do this for hours,” she said, pressing kisses along the length, down to lick the heavy sac, drawn up tight, with a curious, eager tongue.

“You’ve got ten seconds,” Gavin breathed, and Felicia chuckled.

The little sound galvanized Gavin into action, and suddenly he was lifting her to straddle him. He tugged his cock free from her hair, capturing one silver nipple in his mouth as he found her opening and pressed her down, filling her with one sure stroke. Felicia’s head fell back at the exquisite feeling of her muscles stretching for his possession while he
sucked
.

“Should I keep you like this for the next three months?” asked Gavin, “Spread and filled and crying out in pleasure?”

“Yes,” breathed Felicia.

Gavin scooted forward to give himself better leverage as he fucked her, and Felicia held onto his shoulders as each thrust drove them higher and higher until they exploded together.

And so did all the light bulbs in the room, plunging them into darkness.

Felicia sank down against Gavin’s chest, stroking any part of him she could find as her heart rate returned to normal.

“Come with me,” she murmured again, “You’ve probably never taken a vacation in your life.”

“I have responsibilities. But…maybe. Yes. Okay, yes.”

Felicia touched his face, tracing his lips. Gavin nipped the pad of one finger and she gasped.

“I wasn’t kidding when I said that I loved you,” admitted Felicia, and Gavin didn’t respond, but squeezed her so tightly she was breathless when he finally let go.
