Everything within her tightened and throbbed
at his deliberate approach. She waited for him to speak.

He didn’t.

Instead, he crawled up to her from the foot
of the bed, reminding her that her man was indeed a predator. Her
thighs quivered when he reached them. The heat in his gaze stole
her breath. While staring into her eyes, he pulled the cover from
her and placed his warm hand on her breast. When he rubbed her
nipple, his palm had a rougher texture than normal, the friction
sent waves of pleasure to her core.

“Mmm,” she moaned, opening herself to
him.

He pulled her nipple. She shuddered as he
pinched it and then ran his lip across the tight bud. Reaching up,
she pulled his head down, wanting to keep his mouth on her breast.
“Yeah, right there,” she whispered as moisture trickled from
between her thighs. He lavished each breast with loving affection,
sending a heat wave of need through her. With bent legs, she
widened them in invitation. “Now Silas. Now.”

Instead of moving to do her bidding, he
roughly claimed her mouth with his lips to hers. His tongue sought
and secured entranced. A moan escaped from her throat at the
pleasure. He placed his questing fingers at her entrance. Hungry to
be filled, she rolled her hips against his hand. He got the message
and touched her in earnest until his fingers filled her. In and
out, he thrust his tongue and fingers, mimicking a dance that never
grew old. Her body responded, releasing more fluid in
preparation.

She grabbed his hair and pulled. “Now,” she
growled, needing him with a desperation she couldn’t describe. His
scent, his touch, his taste inundated her senses. She had no idea
where he stopped and she began, nor did it matter. Not now. The
blinding need to join with him rode her hard.

He topped her and slid forward, filling and
stretching her in one thrust with his hard thickness. Once fully
seated, he stopped. In symphonic harmony, they both sighed.

“Good,” he grunted in a garbled voice.

She held his hips in place with her hand.
“Damn good.” He moved and it got better. Thrust for thrust, she met
him as they journeyed together toward fulfillment. He had left
himself wide open, allowing her to see and feel what she meant to
him. Her breath hitched at the depth of his commitment. Pouring all
the love in her heart through their link, he shuddered and then
quickened his pace. His body stroked faster, deeper, harder inside
her, hitting against her velvety walls. Fire spread throughout her
body destroying her defenses, leaving her open to him on every
level.

Caught in the maelstrom of their emotions,
she rose higher, tightening, until she flew over the edge in a
blinding flash as her orgasm tore through her. He thickened inside
her. She held him tighter, eager to receive all of him. His body
pulsed as he came with a loud cry, releasing his seed deep within
her body. He tensed, shuddered, and then relaxed on top of her. She
wrapped her legs around him to keep him close a bit longer.

“Good?” he muttered into her neck, as she
found the strength to stroke his hair.

“Always, baby,” she said softly, and then
placed a kiss on his head. He was so precious to her, she could not
imagine life without her wolf. She exhaled into the comfort of
their joining.

“Must have been good tonight…in town,” she
said, softly stroking him.

“It was, but it paled in comparison to what
we just shared. I love you, Jasmine.” He leaned up and met her
gaze. “Thank you for mating with me. I want the ceremony, forget
our enemies. I want the world to know you are my mate, my sweet
bitch. Say yes.”

Unable to speak, she nodded as tears of joy
streamed from her eyes.

Chapter 30

Silas and Jasmine sat in the room with
Victoria. After three days under the watchful care of Matt and
Jacques, she had broken her addiction. Her eyes were clearer than
Jasmine had seen since her arrival at the compound, and her mental
capabilities were back on track. She sat up in bed, gazing at
Jasmine and Silas.

“You’re a wolf…I mean you can change into a
wolf.” She pointed at Silas. He nodded. She turned her attention to
Jasmine. “You gave birth to half-breed babies?” She shook her head.
“One day they will shift into wolves, is that right?”

“Yes, Mom.”

“The twins are half-breed wolves and so is
Rose?”

“Yes,” Jasmine said, searching for her
depleted well of patience. Her mom had not been the best patient
the last couple of days.

“And Silas is your mate, the one person
created for you?” The skepticism in her voice rubbed Jasmine the
wrong way. Just as she was about to answer, Silas stepped in.

“Yes, just as you have a mate. That one
person who will complete you so that you will stop searching.
Aren’t you tired of looking for someone to love you
unconditionally? Someone you can be yourself with?”

Her mom stared at Silas and then laughed.
“You sound like one of those dating commercials. Okay…I’ll bite.”
She paused and then said in a shy voice. “Yes…yes, I want a man who
completes me, who totally gets me in every way. I’ve been searching
my whole life for the right man,” she ended dryly, rolling her
eyes.

Jasmine bit back a laugh at her mom’s
antics. This was the Victoria she had grown up with. That woman had
always been a force to be reckoned with.

“Listen, I believe the wolf thing because
I’ve seen them before. No need to discuss that further.” Her mother
waved down any questions. “We need to keep that quiet, believe me I
understand that my grandchildren are special. I’m damn proud and
will do my part to keep them safe.” She closed her eyes. “I loved
Mark. It’s hard to believe he was used like that, but I saw the
footage and have to accept he was not the person I thought he was.
In time, I might be ready to take on another lover, but not right
now.”

Understanding, Jasmine met her mother’s gaze
and nodded. “No problem. I just want you to get better, you’ve been
through a lot. The poison is still in your system, it’ll take a
couple of weeks to fully flush it out. And then you’ll need to take
supplements to rebuild your strength.”

“I know. Thank you for ... well, for
everything. Especially that well-edited explanation you gave Renee.
I couldn’t take another of her give women a try speeches that she
gives me after every break-up. I’d rather have her believe I was
sick and that Mark had died from exposure, than to see her pity
over another bad choice I made.”

Jasmine rubbed her mom’s arm in
commiseration. Renee had forgiven Jasmine’s bad treatment during
her visit when she discovered her mom had contracted an almost
fatal disease. Jasmine wound up as a heroine battling germs to save
her children in Renee and Mandy’s eyes. Mark’s demise had been
glossed over in deference to their mother’s health.

Silas stood. “We ask that you stay as long
as you wish, you never really had a chance to get to know our
babies.”

Noticing her mom’s drowsiness, Jasmine rose
as well. “Of course she’s sticking around a bit, I need some help
and she’s offered to give it to me.”

Her mom frowned. “I did? When?”

“When you didn’t make it to Germany to help
with the twins. You promised to help with my next batch. I’m
calling you on it, now.”

Her mom laughed.

Silas smiled.

Jasmine grinned as she and Silas left the
room hand in hand. She nodded to Jacques, who walked in and sat in
one of the chairs. He pulled out a book and read while her mom
drifted to sleep. Tomorrow, her man and her sons would track down
the lab and shut it down. She wanted her life to return to normal.
Leaning into her mate, she sighed at his low growl.

Forget normal she thought gazing at his wolf
hiding behind his eyes, it was overrated anyway.
