“It’s mine. Come
and have a look.”

Logan slipped her
hand in his and that bolt of heated awareness shot through her as it always did
whenever she touched him.

Hand in hand they
walked about the property. There were grape vines and apple trees, beds of
wildflowers and an herb garden. They walked around back. Her cheeks flushed in
pleasure. A sandy beach led right into the ocean.

“I thought you
would like to have quick access to the water for your swims. You did tell me
you need water as much as you need blood.”

Oh, how
thoughtful. She blinked back a couple of tears. Slipping her arm around his
waist, she watched as the setting sun cast red streaks across the sparkling
water.

“Not as much as I
need you, Marcus.”

He kissed the top
of her head. “I need you too, Logan. This can be our home. Before we agree on
the Mate Bond, can you accept the baby, whatever it will be, boy, girl, Thrope,
human, Vampire ... can you be mother to my child? Can we be a family? Can we be
happy?”

She had thought
of nothing else for the last two weeks. She might never have a child of her
own. This could be her one chance to experience motherhood. She turned to face
him and stroked the scarred side of his face.

“The child will
be part of you, Marcus. How can I not love him or her?”

Marcus clasped
her hand and kissed her palm with a good deal of passion.

“Do it, Marcus.
Here. Now. Make me your mate.”

Marcus growled
and clasped her arm, pulling her toward the cluster of trees near the beach.
Leaning her against the trunk of the huge red maple he grappled with his zipper
and pulled out his erect cock. The sight of it caused her insides to turn to
liquid. He kissed her, long and hard.

Lifting her dress,
he moved aside her thong and plunged into her high and deep. Her feet were not
even touching the ground; Marcus had her pinned tight. She wrapped her legs
around his waist as he pounded into her. His head fell back, his fangs fully
extended.

“Do you accept
the Mate Bond?”

“Yes! I accept. I
need you, Marcus...”

His fangs sank
deep into her neck, and she cried out. She felt him sucking and drinking and
still his hips kept up the frantic pace.

She climaxed.
Like nothing she had ever felt before. Marcus retracted, and then licked her
neck to seal the punctures. Logan did not miss a beat. She turned his head
slightly and sank her fangs into his neck. She had never tasted his blood
before. God, it had a full-bodied musky taste she could easily become addicted
to. His hot, thick blood trickled down her throat, spreading loving warmth
through her that seared her soul.

Marcus moaned,
and then his seed spilled deep. The feeling of his semen and his blood flooding
her body caused another orgasm for her.

Logan pulled back, licked his throat and then kissed him hard on the
mouth as they shared each other’s blood.

At last, they
parted. Marcus laughed as he tucked his cock back into his jeans and zipped up.
He reached into his side pocket and pulled out a ring.

Marcus slipped it
on his finger. The Blackthorne Clan ring.

“This was Raynor
Nightwood’s. Deegan wanted me to have it. I am part of this Clan now, Logan,
just as you are part of my heart and soul. Mates. I love you so much. Always
and Forever.”

After all these lonely,
barren years, she’d never dreamed she would find a mate again, let alone have
her own family. She grasped his hand and kissed it.

“Yes, Marcus, my
dearest. Always and Forever.”
