"Alright tell me." She said with a bright look.

"No, not like this.  I need you to wake up.  Then go down to where there is a tapestry with a Bat and Dragon with a Blood Red Ruby in the middle of them, like on your pendant, on a crest.  Pull it back and you'll see a secret passage, go down it." Drake explained.

            "But why?" she asked

"Don't ask, please trust me." Drake pleaded.  She nodded and after a long, true loving kiss, he left her dreams and quickly left the room to get ready to tell her the truth.

Jaqulin woke up peacefully this time and looked around, but neither Sequin nor Drake were anywhere to be seen.  She sighed and decided that she should take Drakes request and go down that secret passage.

She walked down the hall, candle in hand, and found the tapestry that Drake talked about in her dream.  She walked down the long winding passage.  She noticed small shelve like holes in the stone walls to her right and left holding candles, lighting the way.

"Is this where Drake disappears to when I can't find him?"  Jaqulin wondered as she touched one of the walls with her fingertips and noticed that the wall was ice cold.

"I must be underground now." She concluded. "There is no way any light has found down here in a very long time."

She stopped at once of the shelves in the wall, they all came to a peek, and looked at the flame that burned in it.  For a moment she thought she saw a skull in the fire.  Scared, she started to walk faster down the hall, hoping to find Drake at the end so she could tell him how scared she was and he could tell her that everything was going to be alright.

She kept walking, wondering if the passage would ever end when she came to a large stairway, over looking an almost dark chamber.

She carefully walked down the stairs, then over to the candles that surrounded the room that was not already lit.  She tipped her candle to light each one and was astonished at what the light revealed.

Right in the middle of the room, dominating the chamber, was a black and silver coffin.  She slowly, reluctantly, walked over to the shimmering black casket, and sat her candle down on the bottom portion of it.

Slowly she slipped her hands between the lid and casket and started to lift up.  When she had maybe an inch up, a hand came out and grabbed her.

She screamed and staggered back, knocking the candle off and putting it out.  She watched as something that looked like Drake, but she knew to be a vampire, got out of the casket. "What are you?"

"You mean 'who am I.' I'm Drake, only in my Vampire from." Drake replied

"Y-you're a vampire?"  Jaqulin stuttered as she backed up when he came forwarded "My brother was right?"

"Yes." He replied.  He came close enough to sniff her neck, and smell the delectable blood pulsing beneath the surface, kissed her instead of biting her, pulled back and said "If it is your choice, your desire to leave now.  Then you may leave with your brother."  He turned away so that she didn't have to look at him and said "if you do leave though, please make sure it's your decision and not come back."

She came closer, this time, turned him to face her, looked into the still devastatingly handsome face and said "thank you for telling me the truth, but

"

"But?" he asked, still a little hopeful.

"But," She continued as she put both hands on both sides of his face and finished "I want to stay with you forever." Drake smiled a thousand watt smile and he felt his heart do jumping jacks.  He kissed her softly but firmly as her lips softened and molded to his.  He looked up and was about to say something when she stopped him with a finger to his lips saying "now, there is one rule however."

"Oh?" he asked, as he playfully went to bite her finger like the vampire he was.

"As long it's the man that controls the vampire and not the other way around."  She replied.  "As long as you control that beast within then I think I can look past it."  She came closer and his kissed her again.  Only this time accidentally biting her lip.  "Ow!" she said

"Sorry. Didn't mean to."  He said back, as he kissed her and tasted her blood from her lips at the same time.

"Yeah right." She said back in between kisses.

He smiled as he slowly backed up to the caskets edge and asked "Want to explore my coffin?"

"Oh, come on.  It can't be very comfortable.  Can it?" she asked.

"Well, it is actually.  I had it specially made, it has extra padding in the bottom and sides try it out."  He replied then picked her up, she screeched a little, just a little in surprise and he sat her down inside.

"Hey, it is comfortable." She commented as she laid back   she then noticed that there were room for two people in the coffin and she began thinking of how it would be if she and Drake were to sleep in it together.  She shook her head and put it out of her mind.

Out of no where, Drake opened the bottom portion of the lid and got in beside her. "Oh gosh, it's going to be cramped in here Drake." She whined.

"No it wont, trust me.  I've had victims in here right before I bit them so that they couldn't escape." Drake said as he closed the bottom lid.

"Oh, that makes me feel better."  She said in sarcasm.  He then laid down, pulling the upper lid closed and came close to her.

"Nice and cozy huh?" he asked.

She adjusted against him and smiled saying "yes, actually, it is."  He smiled and held her close, then slowly found her lips.  That is, after kissing her whole face to do it.  For some reason they heard a thud outside.  Like a body falling to the ground. "What was that?" Jaqulin asked.

"I don't know.  But I'll go find out, stay here."  Drake replied as he went to open the lid, but for some reason it wouldn't budge. "Damn" Drake cursed

            "What's wrong?" Jaqulin asked.

"I forgot that at nights, if anyone gets in here without disengaging the lock, then they get locked in until morning.  Just in case a victim of mine got away and decided to hide in here."  Drake replied "The only way to unlock this is either wait till morning, or someone outside has to unlock it.  If James comes around, he will." Drake finished.

"Oh, this is nice." She said in irony.  Just then, before they could do anything else, the lid flew open and before Drake could move a stake came crashing down into him.  Luckily it didn't come anywhere near his heart but punctured his shoulder.

Drake yelled out in pain as the point hit the bottom of the casket.  Before anything else happened, Jaqulin felt someone tugging on her shoulder and heard her brother saying "C'mon Jaqulin, we have to go before he gets up and gets us."

"NO!" she yelled as she yanked her arm free and sat back down in the casket next to Drake.  And then started pulling the stake out.

            "Don't do that!"  Sequin yelled.

"I'll do what ever I damn well please." Jaqulin sternly yelled looking her brother right in the eye.

"Don't tell me, he got you to?" he asked as he came over.

"No, he told me the truth and I decided from there."  Jaqulin replied as she softly pulled the stake the rest of the way out and threw it to the ground and started to examine the gaping hole in Drakes shoulder.

"And what did you decided?" Sequin asked.

"To stay here with the man I love." She replied without looking at him. "Go get something to stop the bleeding and help me get Drake up to a bed.  I won't be able to do anything until I get him up into some decent light."

Sequin sighed and did as his sister asked.  "Please, just make sure the curtains are drawn.  Other wise the sun will hurt a little."  Drake asked.

"Sure honey.  I'll keep them closed tight." She said as she smiled and stroked his head and put some cloth into the wound to keep him from bleeding too badly.

"There is something else I need to tell you dear." Drake said in a weak tone, and as his eyes drew heavier.

"What is it?" she asked, looking right down into his eyes.

"Unlike most vampires, I have a soul."  He replied, she smiled and kissed his forehead and kept nice and close, it was the first time in his life that Drake didn't feel so alone.  "I feel so tired." He all of a sudden said and his eyes finally closed as he passed out, almost going into a coma.

"Drake, please wake up. You can't go to sleep. Wake up."  Jaqulin pleaded, trying to get him awake so he wouldn't die on her, but alas, it was too late, he was in a deep sleep, almost coma like, and she wasn't able to wake him up.  He'd have to wake up on his own, she realized.

Chapter Seven:  Two Betrayals

"Hold still honey.  I can't put this on unless you hold still."  Jaqulin said as she tried to place the last bandage on Drakes arm.  Sequin had helped her bring him up to her bedroom, got him in bed and made sure not a lot of light got into the room.  After that Jaqulin had proceeded to start work on Drakes wounded arm.

"It hurts so badly."  He said with his eyes closed.  He had begun burning up with fever and his whole body was covered in perspiration yet again.  She had changed the sheets at least once since he had been in bed from them being soaked in his perspiration.

Jaqulin got the washcloth that was soaking in cool water and rung it out then placed it on his forehead, and began to wash his face of his sweat.   She tried her best to comfort him, but what ever her brother had put on the stake was working, and Drake was experiencing the brunt of it right then.  "I'm going to go get some things Drake, I'll be right back.  Stay in bed alright."  Jaqulin said as she gathered up the medical supplies she had taken out and put them away.

Before she could take a step away from the bed Drakes hand came up and grabbed hers, "Please don't leave me." He said as he looked up into her eyes, his desperate.

She came back next to him, smoothed some hair away from his face, kissed his forehead and said "I won't be gone long, I promise. Just lay here and rest."

He sighed, nodded and released her hand.  Then slowly let his eyes close and he began to rest.  She smiled and took the medical kit down the hall to her brother.  She came in, gave him a stern look and asked "Alright, I want to know what gave you the right to do what you did."

"Because, I'm your older brother, I know what's good for you."  Sequin said as he laid in his bed.

"First of all you may be my brother but you sure don't know what's best for me.  And second of all, I'm old enough to make my own choices.  And the journey we've been taking has been getting real boring for me, so I decided to stay here with Drake because I love him.  And for some reason you think that gives you the right to come down and attempt to kill him?" she asked.

"He's a vampire. He deserves to die just like the one that killed our parents did." He said.

"Listen, you can go on your little Vampire slaying trips all by yourself, but Butt Out of my life.  I chose what I think is best for me and what I think is best for me is best for me.  Now, as far as I'm concerned, you can get the hell out and go chase your little vampires, but I'm staying here with my love." Jaqulin explained. She went to leave, but turned around instead and said "Oh, and one more thing, what ever you put on that stake to kill Drake, you better give me the antidote."
