The detective had a smug look about him as he spoke. His pockmarked face was full and round, which was fine because so was the rest of him. He had a mustard stain on the lapel of his light brown suit and he smelled like bologna. Bass was disgusted, and he was sure everyone else was too. Anyone with eyes could see that this had disaster written all over it. Never in the history of crime solving have the FBI, special forces, and the police department ever worked on a case together effectively.

As usual Shade spoke first to smooth over everything. “Hello, detectives.

Let me be the first to say we think you guys are doing a hell of a job and we’d love to hear a lot more about your jurisdiction but you’ll have to excuse us.

My guys and I were just getting ready to scatter. We’re measly club patrons that stopped in for a drink but we see the club is closed for the police training course, Abduction 101. So I don’t think introductions from us are even necessary, that’s how insignificant we are.” Shade tried unsuccessfully to nudge Angel’s father toward the side exit.

Bass shook his head at Shade’s obvious jibe at the Lieutenant and his department.
Abduction 101…Ha!
No one would believe they were club patrons when they stood in the middle of the fucking place, fully armed, and looking like Seal Team 6.

“I’ll determine what’s necessary or significant funny guy, if it’s all the same to you,” the lieutenant stated boldly. “For starters I want to get names,

identification, and weapons permits from all of you. As of right now this club is a crime scene and we can’t have unauthorized personnel inside contaminating it. So let’s see it fellas…IDs out, now.”

“Of course…no problem.” Shade acted as if he was looking for his ID, as he repeatedly patted each and every pocket of his dark green cargo pants.

Bass knew the man only had one ID on him, they all did. Their dog tags underneath their shirts.

Shade huffed out an exasperated breath. “I seem to have left my wallet in my other pants. Look, Detective uhhh…uhhh?” Shade repeatedly snapped his fingers in the air as if he was trying to recall the Lieutenant’s name. “Oh yeah. Richard. Actually, do you go by Detective Richard or Detective Dick?

Just want to be sure on how to address you, sir.”

Bass and the two Agents tried desperately to cover their snickers while Shade’s team remained still-faced.

“Lieutenant Richard will suffice, smart ass. Maybe you want to continue your little comedy act downtown.” Round face gritted his teeth as he stepped in close to square-off with Shade, seeming determined not to lose face.

Out of the corner of his eye Bass could see Angel’s dad firing up that lethal mouth of his.
Oh great…here we go.
Bass silently counted in his mind.

And in three…two…one….

Shot moved Shade back a couple of feet and stared down at the potbellied lieutenant. “You know what? I don’t have time for this shit. You can fuck off, Lieutenant Dick! The last thing I have time for is a lesson on juris-my-DICK-tion,” Shot replied coldly, his voice raising as he went on.

Fox and Monroe had to cough to cover their full out laughter. All eyes were on the lead detective whose face was a nice shade of red.

Angel’s dad was fuming and felt a large vein bulging out of his tan neck.

“You don’t need to see my fucking identification. You wanna know who I am, I’ll fucking tell you. I’m your cities worst fucking nightmare if my son is not in my sight in the next twenty-four hours.” Shot stepped in even closer,

his nose almost touching the man’s forehead. “You wanna know what we’re doing here. I’ll fucking tell you why we’re here. We’re here, Detective Dick, because your useless team couldn’t find pussy in a whorehouse, so I know they won’t find my damn son. No one’s contaminating your crime scene fuck face, since the crime didn’t happen in here, it happened outside in the alley.

So if you get in my goddamn way the only thing you’ll be detecting is my boot in your fucking ass and your partner can negotiate the best way for you to get it removed.”

Angel’s dad felt a large hand on his shoulder. It was warm and strong, so he took a couple of deep breaths and stepped back from the now-terrified lieutenant. Thank God someone was able to calm him down, because he was five seconds off that detective’s ass. He looked back expecting to see Shade as usual, but was shocked to find it was Special Agent Fox touching him.

The Agent leaned in and spoke very close to his ear. “I’ll handle it,” he whispered and moved from behind him.

The Agent’s breath was so hot on his neck, and it shot a familiar feeling down to his balls. Shot considered himself a very smart man, but he had no clue how to describe that feeling he’d just had, or even analyze what it meant.

Shot watched the special agent walk away and retrieve his cell phone from his back pocket. He blinked a couple of times and tuned back in to the conversation now between Shade and Toad. He felt another presence at his back and spun around quickly, his thick braid landing over his shoulder.

“Interesting response you had to that, Agent Fox. He is pretty hot, huh?”

“Fuck off Hawk,” he growled. “Go put your hawk eye on those blueprints where they’re holding our boy and stop meddling like an old lady.”

Hawk continued to stare into his eyes. Shot turned his back on the seer.

He just wasn’t in the mood to be screwed with today. He needed his son safe like he needed his next breath.

Shot left out the side entrance and headed to his truck that was parked two blocks down. It was basically the weapons and surveillance truck that

only he and Viper drove. The other men rode in the Suburbans. It took them less than two hours to get to Angel’s club from Washington, D.C. When Angel’s dad got the distress signal from his son’s device he didn’t panic, but he knew it was an emergency and he needed to move fast.

He felt a little guilty about not going up to talk to his son’s partner, especially since he’d already considered Max as a son. He just couldn’t see Max right now. Shot knew how much he and his son looked alike. The only difference was Angel was two inches shorter and his hair was jet-black.

Shot’s hair had a few long streaks of gray in it now. He felt it would only upset Max even more to see a slightly older version of his man right now. He would go to Max when he had Angel with him.

Shot was an excellent judge of character, that’s why he liked Max right away. He was confident that he loved Angel and would take good care of him and make him happy. That’s all he’d ever wanted for Angel since he’d realized he was a father.

Angel’s dad had experimented with a woman when he was on vacation with the guys in Mexico. He was young, conceited, single, and full of hormones and testosterone.

The condom broke during their extremely physical sex, but she said she was on birth control. The woman was married and had cheated on her husband with the exotic Navy Seal. Her husband found out he was not Angel’s biological father after Angel was hospitalized and needed blood. So her options were to give her three-year-old son up for adoption, get a divorce, or find Angel’s biological father and beg him to take him.

Shot spent two thirds of the year in other countries on covert missions.

He had no clue how to be a father. The team convinced Shot of the right thing to do. They all stepped up and took responsibility right along with him and raised Angel together. Shot knew they were rough on Angel growing up but he needed his son to be a strong and able man. He knew his son was gay even before he did. Or should he say Hawk saw it first and then he knew.

Shot climbed into the back of the eighteen-wheeler, turned on the interior lights, and got to work. All the weapons were military issue and in excellent condition. Some of them were even brand new. He decided to get

the men’s fatigues and vests prepped with the weapons of their specialty.

Toad and Shade didn’t require much, but they would have their M16 rifles and two nine-millimeter weapons and plenty of ammo. A few compartments of their vest held various other instruments like blades, lock picking tools, flash grenades, mini cubes of C4, etcetera.

Shot was checking an M16 magazine when the back door to his truck swung open and inside stepped the very sexy Agent Fox.
Fuck. I definitely don’t
have time for this. Your ass is too much of a distraction.
He turned his back as the Agent stepped in and stood to his full height, taking in his surroundings. The eighteen-wheeler truck was lined with metal shelves in rows of six, each containing various weapons and devices for any type of mission. The high-tech monitors and computers were all state of the art.

Viper could hack a local power company’s mainframe and kill all power in any area, or he could access the White House’s secured line if he needed too. At one end was a large table with blueprint lamps and a desk for mapping mission strategies. The far end was complete with lockers for the men’s uniforms.

Agent Fox still had not spoken. He pulled out a stool and took a seat near Shot…very near. Several minutes went past as Shot worked in silence.

He was supersensitive to the dark eyes watching him masterfully prepare their weapons.

“We’ll get your boy back, you know that right?” Agent Fox finally spoke, breaking the silence. His voice was a deep, smooth baritone. The bass octaves ricocheted off the trailer’s siding and smacked Shot in his chest.

“Of course I know that, my team is the best. I guarantee that Angel is just as confident that he’ll be out of there soon. He knows we’ll never stop until we have him.” Shot didn’t meet the Agent’s smoldering eyes as he talked. He just continued to work.

“Can I call you Shot now? Or am I still restricted to Mr. DeLucca?” Fox asked seductively, while inching a little closer.

He real y thinks he’s irresistible.

Shot looked into the Agent’s eyes that time, but when he tried, he couldn’t look away. He noticed the Agent’s mouth turn up in the corner.

Fuck.
Shot got up and went over to the long line of shelves as if he needed something, which of course he didn’t.

“Cocky asshole,” Shot muttered as he fiddled with some gadgets in a metal box, keeping his back to the Agent.

“Why?” Agent Fox sounded extremely close to him now.

I didn’t even hear him get up
.

“Why am I a cocky asshole, Shot?” He inched a little closer. “Wow, your hair is long. But very beautiful,” he whispered gently in Shot’s ear. Fox took the thick braid in his hand and followed its length down his strong back.

Shot felt body heat radiating off the Agent in waves. Shot’s heart rate turned up and so did his dick.
Oh my God. I can’t deal with this right now.
His mind was screaming “stop,” but his body moaned “continue.” Shot felt large hands on his waist, making him spin around and come face to face with a lustful Agent Fox.

“Back off, unless you want a fucking knife through your jugular,” Shot growled. His teeth clenched as Fox stepped in even closer to the serrated blade Shot had at his throat. A very light trickle of blood seeped down the Agent’s stubbled Adam’s apple. They were nose to nose staring each other down. Fox looked dead into his eyes, challenging him.
Bastard.

“You don’t scare me, Shot,” Agent Fox hissed.

“I should.” Shot removed the razor-sharp blade from Fox’s neck and slowly licked the Agent’s blood off his blade.

“You think that you’re scaring me. But, you’re actually turning me the fuck on.” Fox licked his lips.

Shot hadn’t had a love interest in over five years. He was too consumed with his job, his training, and his son…and too fucked-up in the head. The last lover Shot had in his bed had fled his home in the middle of the night when Shot slammed him against the wall and choked him when the young man teasingly jumped on his back when he came out the bathroom door.

But this standoff he was having with such a strong and powerful man was awakening desires and feelings that he’d long ago forgotten. Agent Fox smelled like soap and aftershave, and it was making him lose focus. A strong

hand came around his back. Shot couldn’t bring himself to move away from the touch…he actually swayed into it.

“You’re one sexy man, Shot. I must say…I was positive you were straight, but then I saw the look in your eyes when I touched you in the club.” Fox was so close now they were practically recycling the air between their mouths. “I’m about to kiss that sinful mouth of yours, and you’re gonna fucking let me.” Fox spoke with force and confidence. He closed the distance between them and instead of placing a direct kiss on Shot’s mouth he stuck out a warm pink tongue and licked both of Shot’s parted lips. Shot felt as if he’d been hit by lightning and he jumped back, dislodging himself from Fox’s hold.

Oh my fucking God! I should be focused on Angel, not being seduced like a teenage
girl.
He moved to the other side of the truck, again with his back to Fox. He was desperately trying to control his breathing. He thought about that warm tongue on his lips and a small groan escaped. Before he realized what he did he’d licked his lips to get a taste of Fox that lingered there.

“Sexy fucker, I saw that.” Fox’s smooth voice was now growling with passion. He cleared the distance between them and slammed his large frame against Shot’s back again. This time the grip on his hips was punishing. That hot breath was at the back of his neck again. He could feel Fox’s stiff cock against his ass. Fox took both of Shot’s arms and raised them above his head securing them to the lockers. The position looked as if Fox was going to give him an official FBI pat-down. Shot could tell that Fox wouldn’t be a passive lover. He ground his strong pelvis against him almost brutally.

Feels so good. Been so damn long, but I can’t fucking do this…especial y now.
Shot was a bottom. But he hadn’t been able to let a man top him in years. Mind too fucked-up, couldn’t relinquish control.
Maybe Fox is strong enough to…no,
no, no. Don’t even think it. Fuck!
