Chapter Ten

Dietrich stumbled back, Blair’s magic filled the room, searching for an unseen enemy. She screamed, grabbed her head and fell to her knees as if in pain. Jax and Gray stormed into the room, her family right behind them pressing into the small meeting room. Instantly, he had clothed them and was in front of her, kneeling. “What?”

Slowly, Blair lifted her head to stare up at him. A bright red streak ran from her temple all the way down her neck, her eyes were blood red, and sweat started to bead on her forehead. “He’s close.” Her voice trembled. “Jacob watched us…” Blair lowered her head where a single drop of blood landed on the floor followed by another.

He swept her up into his arms and carried her out into the dining room hall. “Fabien, we need Moloch now!” Dietrich set Blair on top of one of the dining room tables and lifted her chin.

“What the hell is happening to her?” Her older brother Taz snapped, moving next to him.

“This Jacob, the vampire that she was with, is trying to bring her over to become what he is. Blair, where did Jacob bite you?” Dietrich held out his other hand, a large comforter appeared, and he wrapped it around her body as it shook.

Blair glanced at her brother, then at him before she leaned into him and whispered in his ear. “He bit the inside of my thigh. You know up close…” Blair wrapped the blanket tighter around her. Her hands shook, new tears of blood dripped down her cheeks.

“Why is this happening now Dietrich? If it was going to happen, why not when he bit me?” She scooted forward and laid her head down on his shoulder.

He wrapped his arms around her and squeezed. “They are going to use whatever they can against you, Blair. We all need to be ready for this.” Dietrich glanced up as did everyone else, and the room fell silent.

Fabien led Moloch into the dining room. His presence made everyone nervous. Dietrich stood and helped Blair stand next to him, his arm secure around her waist. He held out his other hand when Moloch stopped in front of them. “I thank you for coming Moloch and I’m sorry for the quick summons.”

Moloch smiled as his eyes slid down Blair’s body and back up before he met Dietrich’s gaze again. He placed his claw like hand in his. “It’s been a while, but I’m happy for you. When did this start and how long ago was she bitten?” Moloch held out his hand behind him and Fabian put a small case into his claw like hand.

“It just started. That’s why I called as soon as I recognized what it was.” He glanced down at Blair. “How long ago, Blair?”

Her arm snaked around his waist and squeezed. “Two months, three days.”

Moloch nodded to the table. “Lay her down on it. I’ll need to see the bite area if this is going to work. We’ll also need blood donors. I’ll be able to release the demon seed in her, but I’m afraid the vampire poison cannot be changed.”

Blair shook her head and tried to back away. “No!”

Dietrich swept her up into his arms and glanced at Gray. “Clear the room. Gray, she doesn’t need to have everyone watching.” He hugged Blair tight and set her back on the large wooden table making her look up at him. “Listen to me Blair. Moloch and I have seen this before and if he does not take out the poison inside of you, that small amount of demon blood will take over. He knows what he is doing and I trust him. He has saved my life many times and I his, we are good friends.”

Blair pulled on his shirt and pulled him down to her eye level. “Will this affect, well my shift tonight for Jax? I don’t want to disappoint Jax.”

Dietrich kissed her nose. “No Blair it won’t affect anything if we take care of this now. As a matter of fact, if I’m right, you won’t completely beome a vampire. You’ll just need blood every once in a while.” He glanced at Moloch who nodded at him.

“Yes you’re right, if she was only bitten that once, then she should be fine when we are finished.” Moloch moved next to him. “And this man won’t be able to get in here either.” Moloch pointed to her head and Blair smiled.

“Thank you for doing this.” Blair quickly glanced around the room and slowly lay back onto the table.

Gray stood by her head brushing her hair back and whispering to her, trying to distract her, while he slowly lifted her skirt up baring her legs.

“You’re going to have to hold her down.” Moloch took out a small green bottle as he separated her legs and leaned over the lower half of her body. She tensed at once, but Gray and Jax both were now talking to her calming her.

Slowly, Blair relaxed enough and that is when he bound her magic it was before she even knew what happened. Dietrich nodded to Moloch, blocking Blair’s view of what would happen. He lifted her left leg and at once Dietrich saw the bite. Where it had been nothing less than ten minutes ago, the skin was now red, puffy, and moved as if it had a life of its own.

He glanced up at Moloch and nodded. “Let’s do this.”

Moloch didn’t waste even a nod as he poured and rubbed the gel onto her skin in the inside of her thigh, right above her pussy lips. Dietrich could still smell their combined scent and see the small trace of his seed on her bare pussy lips.

“What the freaking shit are you doing? That…My god Dietrich it burns Get that crap off of me!” Blair screamed and tried to buck, but he held her down. Now all he could smell was her skin burning as he watched the black poison of the demon tried to fight off the herbal attack. Moloch reached into his bag and grabbed a large tweezer-like instrument.

Fabian stood ready with a container, knowing what would happen next.
“Hold her good, if I lose it, I won’t be able to get it back.”

Dietrich glanced back at Gray and Jax. Each of them had laid their bodies down on Blair, holding her. “Do it,” Gray ordered and glanced at him. He too was furious as all three of them watched the pain that Blair was enduring because of this man.

Jax snarled next to him. “I’ll rip that bastard apart when I find him.” His eyes turned a deep red.

“Jax I’ll be o…” She screamed and he turned to see Moloch pushing the instrument into the quarter-sized hole in her leg.

Black blood, puss and dead skin dripped down onto the table as Moloch worked. “This one is bigger than normal. It’s been feeding on her, waiting for its master to get close. Got it!”

Dietrich watched in horror as Moloch started to pull this black, green and brown snake-like thing out of his Blair’s leg. It was at least as thick as a cue stick; small little teeth protruded from its body, as it tried to latch onto her skin, but couldn’t get a grip because of the gel. The creature screamed a sound like that of someone taking their nails and running them down a chalk board, but Moloch didn’t stop. He pulled it out of her leg inch by inch, not giving the creature any time to regroup.

Glancing back, he noticed that Blair had passed out, the pain was just too much for her. Jax now wiped her face down with a warm washcloth while Gray still held her down just in case she woke.

“This thing has to be at least a foot, amazing.” Moloch pulled and last yank, the tail of the creature came out swinging. It tried to reach back onto its warm host, but Moloch dropped it into the clear container that Fabian held, and closed the lid.

Moloch reached back into his bag and pulled out another small vial, and poured its contents onto her damaged skin. “This will kill any remains the worm left. Since it was so big I want to make sure we got all of it. I’ve seen some that have separated sending pieces of itself to other parts of the body, but I’m pretty sure this creature didn’t have time to do that since it just started the change.” Moloch glanced up at Dietrich as the wound on her leg slowly started to heal.

“You do know we’re dealing with Jamael here, right?” Moloch capped the bottle and handed it to Fabien who started to clean Moloch instrument.

Lifting off Blair’s body, Dietrich nodded. “That’s who I figured it was, but I wasn’t certain until you said something. Thank you Moloch for everything you’ve done, I know Jamael and the others will be furious that you helped us.”

Jax moved up the table with a warm cloth and started to clean Blair’s leg.

“She’ll need to feed when she wakes and don’t worry about me. I can handle Jamael and any others.” Moloch moved and sat down on top of the table next to the one where Blair now stirred. “I could stay around and help you deal with him.”

“You have done enough for us, but please stay and meet my family. They will want to personally thank you for helping me.”

Blair slowly swung her legs around and off the table to smile at Moloch. “Damn that hurt. I’m so going to roast this Jamael over a slow roaring fire!” She mumbled and took the glass of blood Gray handed her as he sat down next to her.

The long blood streak that had run from the top of her head down her neck, was now gone, while her eyes were now back to a brilliant green color. Dietrich cupped her cheek as soon as she set her drink down. “You look a lot better. How do you feel?”

Blair slid off the table, a pair of blue jeans now covered her body along with a green sweater. “I’m fine.” She held out her hand to Moloch. “Thank you again for all that you did and I meant what I said, please stay for a few days. I’m sure there are plenty of rooms here.” Moloch took her hand in his and lifted it, up kissing her knuckles.

“It was my pleasure to help such a fine human female specimen. I don’t know how Dietrich got so lucky.” Moloch flirted with Blair and she laughed.

“You are too kind. If you gentlemen will excuse me, I need to make sure Betsy is okay.” Blair glanced up at him as he released her powers. She swayed for a minute, but disappeared out of the room without saying another word.

* * * *

Blair moved through the hallways furious. Never had anyone ripped her magic away from her like that in her life, not even her parents. The hair on her arms stood up,as a small chill skated up her spine. She stopped and glanced behind her, but saw nothing.

Turning back around Blair jumped, Dietrich stood in front of her. “Damn it Dietrich, don’t scare me like that again.” She snapped and tried to move around him, but he wrapped his arm around her waist and slowly backed her up against the wall.

“You’re mad at me, why?” He nibbled her neck then proceeded to kiss down her now exposed skin, a blouse covered her, but it was unbuttoned, exposing her breasts to his view.

Using her own spell, Blair once more had her sweater on. “Not even Mother and Father have ever questioned my honesty or my loyalty, but in the matter of twenty four hours, you three have done both. I have given you my trust, my body, but in return what have I gained, Dietrich?” She poked his chest, her magic escaping a little floated around them.

“Blair, anyone in that much pain can lash out. I was just protecting everyone around us. This has nothing to do with trust.” Dietrich wrapped his arm around her waist, but she slipped out of it and moved around him.

“I have never hurt anyone, not even when I came into my powers. My Mother and Father both trusted me not to hurt them. As with my sisters and brothers when their powers heightened, I did not take their powers away from them when I could have, because I trusted them. I have laid myself open to you three for the last time. Now you can work for that trust and the so-called love, if there ever will be any. Now, if you excuse me I’ll check on your daughter and mine.” Blair turned to leave seeing Lizzy and Tony, both of them glaring at Dietrich.

“Don’t start either of you, and I mean it. I have enough to deal with. I don’t want you two interfering. Come, we need to check on Betsy and Aimee.” She pushed between both of them when Lizzie’s magic swirled around the room.

“NO!” She spun just in time to see Dietrich turn into a garden snake. Blair shook her head and glanced at her sister. “You have to stop that, Lizzy. Now I’m going to have to deal with one very pissed off man.”

Lizzy smiled and glanced down at the small snake as it’s tongue flickered out and it moved closer to them. “Well actually three, I wasn’t the only one you know?” She nodded to Tony who glared at the small snake.

“He’s damn lucky I don’t step on his ass.”

Blair reached up and slapped both of them on the back of the head and moaned as Dietrich’s magic filled the hallway, releasing him from her brother and sister’s spell.

“Damn, how did he do that?” Tony glanced at her shocked.

“Both of you have to learn to scan your opponents power. If you would have you would have noticed that Dietrich is three times more powerful than I am. Lizzy, isn’t your husband also powerful?”

Jazz and Gray raced around the corner and stopped next to Dietrich as she nodded. “I’m sorry, but you hurt my sister. Even I can see how badly you have hurt her.”

Ryan appeared behind Lizzy and turned her around. “What did you do now?” He shook her by her shoulders.

“I suggest you stop taking your anger out on my sister that way, because I’m a lot worse than her when it comes to protecting those I love.”

Dietrich and Gray both moved up beside her taking hold of her hands. “Blair you need to…”

“Don’t!” She glanced up at Dietrich. “Don’t you even tell me to calm down.” She yanked her hands out of theirs. “Tony, Lizzy let’s go.”

Ryan released Lizzy and all three of them moved towards Dietrich’s personal quarters, before she stopped and glanced back at the four menm her three and Ryan. “I will make a suggestion to you all. Think of another way to punish us if you must, but don’t rip our magic away. Maybe harness it, but don’t take it away.” Blair glanced at Lizzy who now took her hand and squeezed it.

“All our lives it’s the only thing that kept us going, protected us. You take that away from us and we’re nothing. We’re lost and you will eventually destroy us. I give you the use of Xam. He will explain a few things to all of you.” Blair stepped back as her book floated towards Dietrich. He took the book and looked at her.
“That is my life, once more I am giving you something to destroy me with. Don’t make me regret this also.” Blair turned to leave, but Lizzy pulled on her hand. She glanced over her shoulder at Lizzy.

“You can’t allow them to see that? They’ll know everything, Blair.” Lizzy actually sounded scared, even Tony moved closer to her.

“Come, I’ll explain this to all of you at once.” Blair moved through the hallways. Tony and Lizzy followed behind her as the rest of her sisters and brothers joining them. The door to the family room opened. Betsy sat on the couch playing with Aimee.

Both of them looked as her family moved into the room. Once everyone was in the room, she shut the door and protected it when she turned to Taz. “Well, out with it! I know that look and you are about to explode.” She tapped her foot and waited.

Taz paced back and forth in front of the fireplace. “How could you do that? The one thing you have preached to us ever since Mom and Dad died was to protect our guides, shielding them from everyone.”

His power ripped around the room, Betsy whimpered on the couch. Blair moved up to Taz, a few inches from his face. “Either pull in your magic or I will cap it! There is no need for you to act like a fool. We are all family here.”

Taz sneered. “What, like you were earlier when you gave Dietrich your guide?” Taz pulled his magic back, but his words and venom sent her back, stumbling.

Tears filled her eyes and she turned away from him to see Dietrich, Gray, and Jax there. Dietrich’s gaze flew from her’s to Taz’s. “If you even hurt your sister like that again I will personally take it out of your hide. She has given her life for each of you countless times. That was uncalled for, and you know it!”

Blair shook her head. “I’m fine Dietrich, really.” She turned back to Taz and took a deep breath. “Taz, don’t you think Mom shared her guide book with Dad? Who do you think worked on each guide book for you?”

Taz went to open his mouth, but shut it quickly. “Mom and Dad did everything together, some of you might not remember because you were so young, but I remember both of them worked with our guides, each of them putting their history, spells, and secrets into the books. No, we shouldn’t show it to outsiders, but Dietrich, Gray and Jax are now my family too.” She moved up to Taz and hugged him.

“Remember the time you were dating Rose and you found her with… well you know who, did I pull your power then? My husbands and Lizzy’s husbands must learn what we are in here.” Blair placed her hand on his chest. “I may I trust them with my heart now, but I trust them with all of our lives. They are our family now, just as I trusted you not to kill that boy; I trust them to protect all of us.” She laid her head down on Taz’s chest. “When you meet your woman, you’ll have to be able to trust her Taz, or you’ll lose her.” Blair stepped out of his arms and glanced down at Betsy, winking at her.

“You okay?” Betsy smiled and ran to her hugging her legs.

“I’ve been playing with Aimee, even Tison came by and played a game of Sorry with us.” Betsy pulled her towards the sofa, showing her the game.

Aimee stood and hugged her. “I love you, mom.”

“I love you too sweetie. What’s this about Tison? Is there something going on I should know about?” Blair held Aimee back and stared at her.

Aimee’s face turned a pink color. “He wanted to know if I was coming down for the super bowl party tonight. He even brought me a costume for it.” She nodded to the box on the table.

“You do know what this club is about right?” Blair laughed as Aimee glanced around the room and nodded, but not before Blair had seen the tears.

“It’s not like I’m a virgin.” Aimee whispered.

Blair bit her lip, tears slipped down her cheeks as she pulled her daughter into her arms. “And I’ll live with that pain for years, knowing you sacrificed so much for me, but Aimee, when you meet the right man I’m told it’s different. That love will make the experience ten times better, and remember you don’t have to participate. You can ask him up here, watch a movie or something if you’re not ready.”

Aimee shook her head and sat down. “No, I want to do this, but I did tell him we would have to go slow.”

Dietrich leaned down and kissed Aimee’s cheek. “I’ll have a talk with Tison, but if anything gets too much, you let him know. He’ll take great care of you I promise. Or he’ll have to answer to all of us.” Dietrich stood and wiped the tears from her face. “I have to go down and start with preparations for tonight. It’s up to you if you want to attend or not. The run with Jax’s pack isn’t until later.” He leaned down and kissed her lips softly. “We’ll talk after that.”

Blair watched as Jax, Gray and Dietrich left the room. “What are you going to do?” Aimee asked.

“I’m going to go for a walk right now, I’ll be back.” Blair turned to leave when Tony stepped in front of her.

“I’m sorry about earlier. Do you want some company?” Blair sighed knowing she wasn’t going to get some alone time, that Tony needed to be around her right now.

“Come, I was going to look for an empty room. I want to set up a personal gym for myself.” Blair held out her hand and both of them slipped out of the room down the main hallway till she came to the split. “That way is to the main lobby and the club. That hallway leads to the guest quarters, but this one I haven’t been down.” She nodded to the left corridor and smiled up at Tony.

He now stood over six and a half feet tall and Tony made a point of working out every day. Muscles rippled on his arms and legs when he moved. Standing next to him Blair felt as if she was standing next to a tank. “Shall we?”

Tony laughed and pulled her towards the hallway. “You do know what they said about the curious cat right?”

Blair laughed and slapped his arm. “You always did get the sayings wrong, but this is going to be my home now Tony. I need to know what’s here.” Blair stopped and peeked into a large room. She reached in and flicked on the light. “Damn!” She stepped into the large library. “This makes Dad’s library look tiny in comparison.”

“It sure does.” Tony walked around fingering all the old books, his eyes big as he took in room. “I could spend hours in here.” Tony turned to her and she laughed.

“Stay. I’ll let Dietrich know you’ll be here, but don’t forget to go get something to eat Tony. I don’t want to have to drag you out of here.”

Her little brother snorted. “Like you could…” Before he could finish the sentence he was on his ass and she stood over him.

“You might be bigger Tony, but I can still clean you clock. I mean it, don’t make yourself sick.”

Tony laughed jumping up and picking her up kissing her cheek. “I promise, now go on your walk. I’ll be fine.”
