"What surprise?"

He smiled. "I thought we could go for a long drive. I know how much you love my car."

His car and hers were the only ones left in the garage. She looked over at his and nodded. Sure. A drive would be . . . nice.

It took a lot of effort not to sigh. To smile sweetly and say the right thing. "Sounds fun."

Chuckling, Sebastian pulled out his keys and pressed them into her palm. "Lead the way."

Her eyes nearly popped out of her head. "You're letting me drive? Sebastian, I swear if you're teasing me—"

"Jami, I promise, if you voice whatever threat you have in mind, I will bend you over the hood of my car and spank your ass so hard you won't be able to enjoy sitting in the driver's seat."

She swallowed.
Fuck that sounds hot.

He laughed again, spun her around, and gave her butt a hard whack. "Hurry before I make you choose between driving or being spanked."

That got her moving. She half ran to the car, stroking the sleek side reverently before sliding into the driver's seat. She'd give him a reason to spank her later. For now, she couldn't imagine more of a rush than sitting here with all this power in her hands.

Until she glanced over at Sebastian. His smile lit his eyes like the sun glowing on clear pond in a smooth, brown stone bed. Something in that smile, in the way he looked at her, seemed like it was for her alone.

And
nothing
she'd ever felt compared to the rush of knowing she wasn't the only one falling hard and fast. If she didn't get away from him soon, she'd take a nosedive, which was crazy.

But she had no intention of going anywhere anytime soon.

Chapter Twelve

Sunset caressed the calm ocean in red and gold hues which spread out into the deep blue sky in a fading glow. The salty air was damp and slightly crisp. Cooling rapidly as it drifted up to the cliff where they stood. Sebastian took off his suit jacket and draped it over Jami's shoulders. In that tiny skirt and shirt, she'd freeze out here. It had been a surprisingly hot spring, but the night still held a winter chill. He should have asked her where she was headed sooner, planned in advance.

This wasn't like him. He was always prepared, never did things on the spur of the moment. Not until he'd met Jami. And Luke, but he tried to dismiss the young man from his thoughts. When it came down to it he might have been able to resist Luke if it hadn't been for Jami. He would find a way now, he had no choice since one night had been enough to affect Luke’s performance on the ice, but that shouldn't be too hard since the playoffs were a priority to them both. With Jami it was different. When he was with her, he could forget the game and pretty much everything else. She made it easy to live in the moment.

"I love it here." Jami snuggled up to his side and rested her head in the crook under his arm. "Damn, how is it that you know exactly what I need? Between the drive, and this, and you . . . ."

He kissed the top of her head. "I don't know what you need, Jami. All I know is, after your tears, I need to see you happy. If I'm honest, it was a purely selfish gesture."

She hooked her fingers to his belt and buried her face into his chest, muffling her words. "I hate crying."

"Why?"

"My mother turned tears on and off like a faucet when I was a kid. It was disgusting." She tipped her head up and her eyes were hard. "I never want to be like that."

"I can't imagine you ever will be. But you've had a difficult day and I think a few tears helped."

She shook her head. "No,
this
helped. Just getting away from everything for a bit." Her sigh went straight through his thin cotton shirt and stirred the course hairs on his chest. "But I'll eventually have to go back and face it."

"Eventually." He rubbed her arm through his jacket, wishing he could give her more time to get away. Keep her far from anyone and anything that could hurt her. It wasn’t realistic. But perhaps they didn’t need reality now. "For a little while, pretend that you don't."

Spinning away from him, she laughed. "Why Mr. Ramos, are you suggesting we play make-believe? That doesn't seem like you."

"Make-believe it is." He lunged forward as she twirled a little too close to the edge of the cliff for comfort and gathered her in his arms. "
Eres
la
hostia
! Be careful!"

Fingers pressed to his lips, she shook her head. "I'm fine and you're spoiling the game."

Impossible gatita.
He kissed her fingertips and let out a gruff sound in his throat as the surge of adrenaline heated his blood and his cock stirred. "I'm not sure I know how to play, mi cielo. I had little time for make-believe as a child."

She bit her lip and a shadow of sadness passed through her eyes. "You'll tell me why one day. But for now, I'll teach you."

He took hold of her wrists and bent down to kiss her lips. "I'd like that very much."

"Well you're doing it wrong already." She twisted her wrists free and ducked under his arm when he reached for her. "We've played you catching me and tying me up already. I say we make-believe that I've caught you."

Brow arched, he pointedly looked over her tiny frame. "I'm not sure my imagination stretches that far."

"That's because you're not trying. Close your eyes and feel the ropes—vines actually—wrapping around your ankles and your wrists." She stared at him until he closed his eyes. The soft pad of her footsteps moved in a slow circle around him. "You've walked right into my trap. I can do anything I want to you."

He chuckled. "What if I break free?"

"You can't." Her voice came from behind him. She smoothed her hands down his arms, digging her tiny fingers into his thick muscles. "All this strength is nothing against my magic."

You have no idea how true that is, mi cielo.
"So what will you do to me?"

"Answer me first. Can you feel the vines? They're holding you so tight."

Her game seemed silly, but he was willing to indulge her. "I can feel them."

"Good." She moved in front of him and undid his shirt. "Now . . . ."

The wind caught up and
goosebumps
rose on his flesh as the silence lengthened. He had to fight not to smile. His gatita didn't know what to do with him. As fun as the game had seemed to her, she preferred giving up control. He could help her with that.

Eyes still closed, wrists and ankles still in their invincible restraints, he turned his head towards the last place he'd heard her voice. "Make-believe that, even though you've trapped me, even though my strength is nothing against your magic, you are drawn to me in a way you've never felt before. When I speak you feel compelled to do whatever I say."

Her warmth seeped into the cooled flesh of his chest as she came closer. "Yes."

"Kiss me."

Without a word she wrapped her fingers around the back of his neck and pulled him down, pressing her lips to his in a hungry kiss. Her tongue darted into his mouth and she moaned as he sucked it in deeper. He slanted his head and his tongue followed hers into her mouth, hot and filled with the sweetness of some kind of cherry cola. He used his teeth to catch her tongue, then released it and grazed them lightly over her lush bottom lip. She gasped and tangled her fingers in his hair, pulling it loose so the strands drifted across his face in the breeze.

"I want your mouth on my skin, mi cielo, your lips, your teeth."

She obeyed and he hissed in the tangy sea air as she sucked and bit down his throat, along his collar bone, moving down his chest to his stomach, then up again as his hips shifted in response. Her mouth closed around his nipple and he clenched his jaw as the jolt of pleasure speared down to his cock. She gave the other nipple the same attention and he suddenly wished there really were vines retraining his wrists. The urge to touch her was driving him mad.

"Release me." His tone sounded feral. His forearms flexed as he locked his arms in place. Every instinct screamed for him to take over, but he wouldn't. Not until she let him. His next words came out softer, breathless. "Release me so I can give you pleasure."

"Not yet." Her fingers fumbled with his belt. "I've been wanting to do this all night. Please?"

"I can't stop you." No. That wasn't true. He certainly could, but he'd always considered himself an intelligent man. She was looking for permission which he had no problem giving her. "I will not stop you."

"And I won't be able to stop you when I release you, Sebastian." She freed his dick and swirled her tongue around the tip. "You're right about me—I always rush things. But I need to take it slow with you tonight. I don't know why."

"There's no need to explain,
cosita
. Do whatever feels right." His eyes fluttered shut as she slowly slid her lips down his shaft, tasting him, stroking him with her hands when she couldn't take him all the way in. The way she handled him felt incredible, but he couldn't help being a little concerned by the temperament of the unrestrained passion she'd shown before. He hoped she wasn't afraid he'd always take her fast and rough. As much as she'd enjoyed it, he knew there would be days—perhaps days like today—when she needed tenderness.

Telling her so would accomplish nothing. By the end of the night he would show her, again and again, how gentle and loving he could be.

Loving, Ramos? Already?

His hands clenched into fists as he fought not to reach out and touch her hair, her cheeks. He needed a way to show her how he felt.

Yes. Loving.

Her soft touch and light sucking tore him away from his poignant thoughts and caused the muscles in his thighs to tense as he struggled not to thrust into her mouth. Despite the cold wind drifting over him, sweat broke out on his flesh. His body and his emotions tore him in two different directions. If he didn't take control soon, he'd lose it completely.

"Release me, mi
corizon
."
My heart.
He couldn't stop the words from escaping, but he was happy she didn't know what they meant. Calling her 'mi cielo' from the start had been unwise—he might have scared her away if she'd discovered the meaning—but it fit her perfectly. The endearment came to him at first because of the color of her hair, but it meant so much more now.

"You're free, mi alma."

All the invisible restraints seemed to release him at once, as though he'd let himself drift too far into the game to keep a grip on reality. His legs almost gave out. She couldn't know what she was saying. He stared at her, on her knees before him. "Jami—"

"I have Google, Sebastian. I don't know if I'm using the word right, but if I am, it fits." She bowed her head and spoke quietly. "I've never felt this way about anyone. Maybe what you were saying to me didn't mean much—maybe you were just being sweet. And that's okay. Please don't tell me now though. I'm a little fragile."

"Why, mi cielo?" He tucked himself into his boxers and knelt in front of her. "Before you answer, know that I mean every word. I am not . . . being sweet. I will not always be sweet. But you are mi cielo—my heaven. You own parts of me no one has touched." He shook his head in frustration as the words she would understand escaped him. "I am not saying this right."

"You're saying it perfectly. It's just . . . ugh, my 'needs' are weird sometimes. I get off being used, I know that. But after, I need to know . . . ." She shook her head, then leaned against his chest. "I need to know
someone
wasn't using me. And that makes no sense."

"It makes perfect sense." Damn it, had he made her feel like that the last time? He'd carried her to bed and held her most of the night, but she may have needed more. "I am sorry if I—"

"You didn't."

"Then . . . ." His jaw ticked. Only one other person could have done it. "Luke."

She shook her head and tried to stand, but he held her down, rubbing her shoulders through his jacket as she trembled and whispered. "We were just having fun. I shouldn't have expected him to—it's just . . . after what we did . . . ."

"What did he do to you?"
Why did you trust him, Ramos?
The damn boy didn't know his own mind. How could Sebastian have been so stupid as to give Luke permission take her alone? "Tell me everything."

Once she did, Sebastian felt completely lost. Luke had explored things with her that had made her vulnerable and then abandoned her. And Sebastian had no one but himself to blame. He'd wanted them both and that had made him careless with Jami's emotions.

"Sebastian, listen to me. You and I both know Luke is messed up. I won't hold it against him. I remember what you said." She cupped his cheeks between her hands. "We'll both take care of him, right?"

She was right, he had said that. But in the heat of the moment. "I should stay away from him. You do not see the way I affect him."

She smiled. "I think I have an idea."

"I was not there that night." He took a deep breath as his accent weighed heavy on his tone. "And he is not here on this one. Only you and I. When we first arrived I thought of him, on how I should leave him alone. But you—"

"Don't leave me alone." She sat on her side and curled into his arms, looking out at the ocean. "Can a sub force her master to stay?"

"No, but a woman can make a man want to remain by her side. And you've done that." Loose strands of his hair clung to his lips as he looked down at her. She shivered and he shook his head. "But it is cold outside. Come home with me."

"Not yet." Jami slid her hand into his boxers and wrapped her hand around him. "You're still hard."

"That I am."

"I still want you."

"Do you?" He grinned as he drew her to her feet. "I don't suppose you have the patience to wait for the two hours it will take to get back to Dartmouth?"

"Can we save the torture for another time?" She tugged on the collar of his open shirt and kissed him. "Tell me you want me too."

"More than I can possibly say in any language." He raked his fingers into her hair, ravishing her mouth as he guided her to his car, parked just a few feet away. He seated her on the hood and met her eyes as he released her. The world had righted itself again.

"Don't move."
