Luc walked purposefully to his overnight bag and retrieved a condom, ripping the package open and placing it on his penis before turning back to Megan.

“Now we won’t have to stop.” He crossed the room to her.

“Mmm, that might be the best thing you’ve ever said to me.” She smiled at him as he lowered himself over her. She was still lying sideways on the bed, her feet resting flat on the mattress, her legs spread. Luc brought his body in line with hers, lying on top of her and slowly working his way inside her wet pussy, causing them both to moan as he filled her completely.

“You are so tight,” he said as he moved his hips from side to side then pulled back again. Megan grabbed his ass and pulled him forcefully back into her again. She wanted to feel the full weight of him on her. Luc pulled out again, teasing her with that little smirk of his.

Megan felt the same sense of indignation she had in Paris when he had given her that smirk. She glared at him and then pushed him away, remembering the silk scarf tucked into his wool dress coat, which was slung over a chair. She stood, giving him a serious look, then crossed the room, knowing he was staring at her ass as she moved. She pulled the scarf out of his coat with one swift move, letting it snap as it hit the ground. She turned back and walked over to him, pushing him down onto the bed with one hand.

Luc allowed it, lifting an eyebrow in surprise. “I think I’m going to like this.”

“I don’t really care if you like it, as long as I get what I want,” Megan replied, lifting one of his arms over his head and tying one end of the scarf to his wrist. She pulled the scarf behind the wooden bedpost and tied the loose end to his other wrist, pulling the fabric tight.

“Megan, I had no idea you were such a kinky girl!”

“This isn’t meant to be kinky. It’s meant to wipe that smirk off your face,” she said, straddling him. “Now we go at my pace, and we’ll see if you like being teased.”

She rocked her body over his, allowing her sex to barely touch him, letting her mouth hover over his but refusing to kiss him. Luc lifted his head but Megan managed to keep her mouth just inches away from him, skirting his every effort.

She straightened her back until she was sitting up on his lap, rubbing herself over him. She could feel his cock react to her and could tell by his expression that he needed to be inside her again. Megan watched him as she slowly caressed herself with her fingertips, pinching her nipples and cupping her breasts for him. She let one had glide down in front of her and slid her fingers inside, making him watch helplessly as she pleasured herself.

Luc’s face wore a look of lust and frustration mixed together. All hints of his former cockiness were gone now, and he looked as though he might burst if she didn’t fuck him at that very moment.

“Shall I stop torturing you, Luc?” Megan asked with a little smirk of her own.

“Yes, gorgeous, let’s fuck,” he murmured.

With those words, Megan couldn’t wait anymore. She lifted his cock with her hand and pushed her body down hard, bringing them both the relief they needed. Pressing her hands to his chest, she rocked herself from side to side, then back and forth, over and over, harder and harder. She could feel herself becoming more and more wild as she moved. All thoughts of anything outside that room were completely absent as, moving in circles over him, she squeezed his cock. She looked down, seeing the place where their bodies met, feeling his cock rubbing so perfectly in just the right spot as she moved. The sight of him tied to the bed, his chiselled body gleaming with sweat, made her feel powerful and sexy. Megan could feel her orgasm erupting inside her, causing her entire body to jolt as she came. She could feel Luc come with her, his length jerking inside her with each wave of his own climax.

She grinned down at him as they both started to catch their breath again. “I kind of like you this way, Monsieur Chevalier. I might just leave you tied up like that.”

Luc laughed at her and shook his head. “If I weren’t so concerned with making you happy, I would never have allowed this.”

Megan lowered her mouth to his and kissed him hard. “Yes, you would have,” she said as she untied his wrists.

“Okay, you’re probably right, but only because you’re so fucking sexy.”

“I suddenly love how honest you are,” she teased.

That night as she fell asleep alone in her bed at home, Megan went over the day she had just experienced. She felt giddy at the thought of Luc. His thoughtfulness, his arm around her as they rode on the chairlift, his fingers intertwined with hers as they drove, the feeling of him touching her. Her mind raced along, thinking of all the things she loved about him. The look in his eyes when they met hers was the perfect blend of lust and admiration. His sense of honesty, even when lying a little would be more to his benefit. His thoughtfulness at realizing how difficult it was for a single mom to find the time for a man in her life. He had treated her to another entire day of fun, romance and incredible sex. She didn’t think about where this was leading, she thought only about how wonderful it was to have it for now. It was more than she had ever thought she would have, and it was enough for her.

“So, my dear girl, are you going to tell me who you were skiing with yesterday?”

Megan was wandering through the grocery store, pushing the cart with one hand while she talked to her mom on her cellphone. She dropped a box of pasta into her cart and kept moving.

“What?” she asked weakly. She knew her mom wouldn’t take long to realize something was up.

“I can tell there’s something going on, Megan. Now out with it,” Helen said sternly.

Megan, feeling like a child, groaned into her phone. “Mom, it’s no big deal. I met a man in Paris—a friend of Harper’s, actually—and he came here to see me. He was in Colorado on business so he stopped here on his way home.”

“Really? Why didn’t you think you could tell me about him? What’s wrong with him, is he married or something?” Helen’s questions came out like the rapid fire of a semi-automatic rifle.

Megan pulled her cart out of the way of an elderly couple in the cereal aisle and stopped where she was. She gasped. “God no, Mom! Married? Eeew! He’s completely single. I just didn’t want to say anything because I didn’t want a big lecture about it. I already know he lives too far away for this to go anywhere, but we’re just having fun.”

“Good for you,” Helen said supportively. This was not what Megan had thought she would hear.

“What?” she asked.

“I said good for you. You deserve to have a little fun, Megan. I’m happy for you. Is he a hottie?”

Megan cringed hearing her mom say
hottie
. “Yes, Mom. He’s very handsome and surprisingly thoughtful too. I really like him, actually.”

“Well, I’m glad. Just make sure you use protection.”

“Mom,” she hissed, “I am
not
an idiot. Of course we’re using protection.” Just as she finished the sentence, a woman with a toddler in her cart walked past. The woman was trying not to laugh.

“Well, I wouldn’t say you have to be an idiot not to use any. It’s just easy to get carried away sometimes, especially at the beginning of a relationship.”

“Can we change the subject?”

“Sure. Listen, I’m going to dinner with Charlie tonight, so I won’t be home if you call.”

“Really? That’s great. Should I swing over to the condom aisle for you in case you two get carried away?”

Her mom burst out laughing. “You always were a little brat.”

That night, as Megan finished the dishes, she realized she couldn’t call Luc. It would be after two in the morning in Paris. She was surprised by how disappointed she felt. She wanted to hear his sexy voice. She looked around the kitchen for a moment, trying to decide what to do, when she heard her cellphone chime.

She had a text from Luc:
Are you free to talk?

Yes! Skype?

A moment later, she saw his face on the screen in her hand. She could see his headboard behind him and that he wasn’t wearing a shirt. Her heart felt fluttery as she grinned at him. “You’re still up? It’s so late there!”

“I can’t sleep. Jet lag.”

“How was your trip home?”

“It was fine, but I’m finding myself missing a beautiful American woman. I was hoping if I could talk to her, I would be able to fall asleep.”

“Is she
that
dull?”

Luc laughed. “She is that
soothing
,” he corrected.

“Hmm, sounds like another version of dull, but I’ll take it as a compliment anyway. So, I told my mom the truth about who I was skiing with. She took it pretty well, actually. She said it was good for me to have some fun.”

“So, does this mean you can go to the prom with me?”

It was Megan’s turn to laugh. “Maybe. Monsieur Chevalier, what do we do next in your great plan?”

“I was thinking about that on the plane home. Do you think we could figure out a time to talk most days?”

“I think so. I can email you my schedule if that would make it easier.” Megan’s heart fluttered at the thought of talking with him every day.

“It would, yes.” Luc ran his hand through his hair. He had that sexy, sleepy, rumpled look that made Megan long to be curled up in bed with him.

“If I told you I wished you were here right now, would that be breaking any rules? You just look so cozy to me right now.”

“I would consider it well within the rules of our agreement. Besides, I already knew it. You just gave me that look that tells me you want to tie me to the bed and have your way with me.”

Megan grinned at him, blushing a little at the memory. “I might.”

“Maybe next time it will be my turn to tie you up?” he asked.

Meg laughed, feeling both a little shy about talking like this and excited that he was mentioning a next time. “My schedule is pretty full, actually. I’m starting my own business as a dominatrix. I can add you to the list, though.”

Megan watched as his face tightened briefly. She could hear his knuckles crack as he stared back at her for a moment. He quickly recovered and asked, “Oh, is that the case? I don’t think I like the sound of you with other men. I might have to pre-book all of your openings.”

“Why, Luc, are you jealous? Because it sounds like you’re jealous,” Megan teased.

Luc shook his head. “Certainly not. I just don’t want any other men coming within one hundred metres of you. It’s perfectly normal.”

“Well, that would make it rather difficult for me to run my dominatrix business. I might have to shut it down.”

Luc smiled now, feeling foolish for his temporary possessiveness. “Maybe you could be a photographer instead? I hear there’s good money in it.”

“I suppose I could give it a shot. Hold off on the dominatrix thing until you’re back in town.”

“Do you have an opening in three weeks? I can be back then.”

Megan’s heart thumped at the thought of him back so soon just for her. She tried to look casual, as though she had to consider it. “Hmm, three weeks? Let me think . . . You know, I can probably squeeze you in.” She used her best sultry voice on the last few words.

Luc raised his eyebrow at her and gave her a little half smile. “You are very tight, but I know you can squeeze me in if we try.”

“This is fun,” she replied.

“It is. You’re very sexy. Now I don’t want to sleep. I want to get on a plane right now so I can run my hands all over every part of that gorgeous body of yours.”

“So, this call really wasn’t as helpful as you thought it would be.”

“Not one of my better ideas, I’m afraid. Apparently, you are only soothing when I’ve had about five hours in bed with you. Right now, you’re waking me up.”

“But you should get some sleep.” Megan gave him a look of pure adoration.

“I should, I have a long day in the office tomorrow, and I have to be up in four hours. Let’s do this again tomorrow night?”

“It’s a date. Good night, Monsieur Chevalier.”

Bonne nuit, mon ange.

As Luc lay in bed, waiting for sleep to come, he thought of Megan. She was fun and sexy and he couldn’t wait to hold her in his arms again. Even just to talk with her on the phone again the next day was something to look forward to. Everything about their relationship was a completely fresh experience and thoroughly enticing for him. For the first time, he knew what it was like to live just to see the look in a woman’s eyes when she saw him, or to hear her voice as she spoke his name. For the first time, the thought of another man touching the woman he was with was enough to make him lose his mind. For the first time, none of this seemed like nonsense to Luc, even though every now and again, it caused a twinge of fear to build in his chest. Somehow, for the first time, he was able to push that feeling aside, knowing that to fight through it, for Megan, was worth it.

NINETEEN

Paris—Two Weeks Later

“Harper? It’s Luc,” he said into the phone.

“Hey, Luc! I take it you’re calling to talk about my best friend?”

“Yes, as a matter of fact, I am. I’m planning a special date for us and I need your help, if you don’t mind. . . .”

“I’m intrigued. What do you need?”

“Can you talk to Megan’s mom and see if she can stay with Elliott next Saturday night? I want to fly her to San Francisco for the night to see the ballet. I thought she might like that.”

“The ballet? She’ll love that! Send me the details about when you need her to leave Boulder and when she’ll be home, okay? I have to run into a meeting right now. I’ll call Helen this evening.”

“I will. Thank you, Harper. Oh, and can I ask one more favour?”

“Sure.”

“Can you give me her dress and shoe size? I want to buy her something special to wear for our evening.”

“Wow, Luc! If I had known you would be like this, I would have slept with you myself.”

“I am quite the catch, no?”

“Yes. Yes, you are. I’ll send you her sizes and a few wardrobe ideas as well. Talk to you soon,” Harper replied. As she walked into her meeting, she grinned to herself at the thought of her best friend being spoiled like this.
