“Sounds like we’re on the same page then.” I said cautiously. He pushed himself into a sitting position and I almost mourned the loss of contact but it was short lived. He leaned forward, reaching for me and I did my best to meet him half way. His fingers found my hair, tangling in it, pulling my mouth to his and he kissed me savagely, possessively, so strongly I was left breathless and in awe. He broke the kiss and said against my mouth,

“I’m glad, because I need to get something straight with you. I fucked up last night, I own my mistakes and I’m going to make more of them but one thing I’ve done that’s no mistake is I’ve given you the keys to the kingdom Em. I’ve given you my heart, and I go where it goes so you’re fucking stuck with my dumb ass.” His dark gaze bored into mine, smoldering and hot and enough to make my blood boil with its intensity from mere inches away. He continued his little tirade and I was okay with that, I wanted to hear what he was saying more than I ever wanted to hear anything in my life.

“I can’t promise you sunshine and roses all the time Baby but what I can promise you was that last night isn’t a common occurrence. I can’t promise you bad shit won’t happen but what I can promise is that I will never lie to you, I will never cheat on you and I will never
intentionally
hurt you. What I will do is love you, and be with you and protect you and if that means I need to pull out my motherfucking bad ass to do it I will. If it means I have to punch a guy in the mouth or shoot him in the leg or fucking kill him in the most insidious ways you can imagine to keep you safe and whole I won’t hesitate. I love you that much.” I blinked stupidly, I didn’t know what to say.

“Say something.” He said.

“I…”

“Just tell me you’re on board.” He said, desperation in his eyes, lacing his tone.

“Yes I’m on board! Oh my God I’m on board! What woman in their right mind wouldn’t be on board after that Dray!?” I hugged myself to him and his arms curved around me. What he offered, what he said, it was all I had ever wanted… Dray was a hell of a prince charming but then again I wasn’t exactly a Disney princess… I’d always prided myself on being a self-rescuing princess if there ever was one, but Dray… I kissed him.

“So we’re okay?” he said hopefully.

“We’re okay.” I said breathlessly.

“You gotta promise me Em, you start to freak out or get overwhelmed to talk to me. Don’t shut me out Baby, it damn near gave me a heart attack.” He said and I nodded.

“Okay. We can make this work.” I said.

“Damn straight we’re going to make it work.” He smiled. I closed my eyes, a weight lifted from my shoulders. When I opened them Dray was searching my face.

“Tired?” he asked.

“Yeah.” I admitted.

“Were you like that all night with me?”

“Yeah.” I smiled.

“Why?”

“Because I love you and there wasn’t any way I was going to let you wake up thinking we weren’t going to be okay.” I said with a gusty sigh. “I think, the more I’m with you, that we were made for each other. The way I was raised, the people I was raised around, I think it was all to prepare me for a life with you. Believe me, I know it can get ugly, I just let myself get overwhelmed with so much happening all at once, so close together. After thinking about it, I think I can handle it. I
know
I can handle it because not handling would mean I couldn’t stay… Would mean a life without you and I don’t want to face that probability.” He was looking at me, his dark eyes roving my face, his expression so serious.

“What?” I asked finally.

“Now I really feel like we’re on the same page.” He said and I smiled because it felt incredibly good. Dray got up on his feet beside the bed and stretched.

“Where are you going?”

We
are going back to
our
room and getting some decent fucking sleep. Trig’s bed sucks and you look like you need a good sleep.”

“I need to be held, by you.” I admitted.

“Cool, I can do that.” He said and lifted me. I wrinkled my nose.

“Can you take a shower first? You smell like an agave farm.” He laughed and took me back to his, excuse me,
our
bedroom and settled me into the bed. He showered quickly and joined me cuddling me into his embrace and I felt, that despite the wild and weird sequence of events that brought me here, that I was home.

Chapter
22

Dray…

I straightened up from under the hood of the old Charger and looked out the bay door, my breath fogging in the cold air. After the night my girl got a full dose of the ugly side of club life we’d settled into a pretty decent routine of work, school and for her, doctor’s appointments and physical therapy.

Fall had worn on into winter and she and Mandy both had finished out their semester. She’d passed that damned math class, her and Red both, thanks to Shelly and earned their degrees. Now she and Red were pulling up at the garage after lunch with Ashton and both of them looked shell shocked. I grinned. They got out of Red’s little Ford Focus and walked across the parking lot towards me. Em didn’t even limp anymore and had been slowly but surely, in addition to her physical therapy, been getting back into her dancing.

“Hey girls.” Gypsy said and waved at them both before disappearing into the office. I wiped my hands on an old rag as they approached.

“Have a good lunch?” I asked and Everett raked me with her steel blue shrewd gaze.

“Did you know Ashton was going to do it?” She asked me.

“Uh yeah.” I said carefully, grinning. Mandy still looked like she’d been cracked across the skull and was seeing stars.

“Holy crap this is really happening!” Red blurted and sat down right on the ground where she stood. My girl was grinning from ear to ear and God was she beautiful.

“What’s happening?” I feigned innocence.

“Ashton is fronting us all of the money required to start our business. She wants to be a silent partner!” Red said and I laughed. Everett shrieked in excitement and flung herself at me. Her long dancer’s legs wound around my hips and I was instantly hard. I held her up and kissed her fiercely and laughed with her, sharing in her joy.

“Well, she has all that money, might as well use some of it for something. She can’t take it with her.” I shrugged nonchalantly.

“Oh my God!” Red leapt to her feet. “I’m not dreaming. This is really happening!” she spun in place and let out an explosive breath.

“Celebration at the club house tonight?” Everett asked me.

“I think that can be arranged.” I grinned and she slid down my body to her feet.

“I love you.” She said.

“Love you too Babe.” I said back.

She kissed me one more time and she and Red went off to do whatever it was they did while I had to work. Closing time couldn’t come fast enough and eventually it moseyed on down my way. I closed up the garage with Gypsy and walked Darlene, our front office girl, to her car across the lot. The sun was going down and I was ready for a hot shower. I climbed into Sadie and drove home. When I went in the front door I was immediately aware of the mouthwatering smells coming from the kitchen. I smiled.

Everett stood at the dining room table and set down a plate, a feral, way too sexy smile curving her lips. I went very still and drank her in from the high heels on her feet, up the long stems of her legs, my gaze skating over the frilly, 50’s housewife apron and along her smooth creamy skin. The apron was all she wore and god damn it! I was achingly hard.

“Welcome home.” She said in a sultry purr. Candles glowed on the dining tabletop, warm and inviting, and the food looked almost as spectacular as my woman. I groaned. I didn’t know which appetite I should assuage first.

“Do I have time for a shower?” I growled. She bit her lower lip in that way that drove me nuts and shook her head very, very slowly.

That was it. I went to her and snatched her into my arms bringing my mouth down on hers wildly. The skin of her back was warm and silky beneath my dirty work roughened hands and I gloried in it. I turned her so her back was to the table and crushed her petal softness against it. She moaned when she felt my thickness up against her through my jeans and I let myself lose it. I swept an arm across the table. Silverware and plates crashing to the floor with placemats and glasses. Good thing there wasn’t any food on anything yet, that was still on the kitchen counter.

The candles snuffed out and rolled to the side and I laid her back across the table. I fumbled at my belt and fly and she produced a condom out of the apron pocket. I growled low in my throat.

“God I love you!” and she smiled tearing the packet open. Somehow between the two of us we got it on me and I fit myself inside of her. She was wet and ready and cried out in pure bliss the second I was fully seated. She gripped my shoulders and looked deep into my eyes.

“Make it rough, God please I want it hard!” she cried and hell yeah! I was up for a round of rough and dirty sex on my dining room table, what guy wasn’t!?

I gripped her hips with near bruising force and thrust into her wet heat like I was going to come out the other side. The entire table, which was a sturdy piece, shuddered with the force of our coupling, and she cried out, writhing beneath me so beautifully I couldn’t make it last if I wanted to. I bowed over her and crushed my mouth over hers before straightening to a standing position again. I smoothed a hand across the dip her hips took between the sharp curves of her hipbones and slicked a thumb down into her wetness and up over that sensitive bundle of nerves at the top of her sex.

I may not be able to last for longer than a couple of minutes with how turned on she’d made me but I damned sure wasn’t going to come without her either going up and over first or going along for the ride. Her body bucked sharply under me and she moaned, a throaty wail that had my balls tightening. I kept myself from going off by sheer force of will and gritted my teeth.

“Come on Baby, I want to hear you sing.” I said and rubbed her clit just the way I knew she liked, fast light little strokes up and down. She squeezed down so tight and delicious around my cock and just when I was sure I couldn’t stand it anymore she exploded around me and underneath me, emitting a sharp piercing cry that was a cross between triumph and ecstasy. I lost it completely, my hips loosing rhythm, my cock jumping wildly as I spilled myself into the condom inside her. I collapsed over the top of her and kissed her shoulder, the side of her neck, panting in great gasps against her warm, moist skin. She laughed and wiggled her hips just a bit and it was too much after coming so hard. I jerked back out of her with a small strained cry of my own and she laughed again.

“Can we have dinner like this every night?” I asked her and chuckled. I hauled my pants up my legs.

“Go wash up,” she ordered breathlessly, “I’m just,” she swallowed, “I’m just gonna lie here a second.” I went into the bathroom and took care of things, flushing our offering down the porcelain goddess. I washed up and took a warm wet washcloth out to her and cleaned her up carefully.

She moaned a little, her eyes closing in bliss.

“I’m never going to be able to sit at this table again without picturing what we just did.” I stated dryly and she struggled into a sitting position.

“Good.” She said. I went and got the broom and swept up while she saved the rest of our dinner from burning out of the oven.

“You’re fucking irresistible woman.” I growled into her ear, pulling her nude back against my clothed front.

“Mmm, do we have to go to the club?” she asked quietly.

“Your girl Mandy going?” I asked her.

“No she’s celebrating with her parents. She’s still going to be stuck there for a while until we can start turning a profit and…” I turned her around.

“What if she moved in here?” I asked.

“What? What about your dad?” she asked.

“You seen his room lately?” I asked her.

“Nooo…” she trailed off. I took her by the hand and led her to it and opened the door flipping on the light.

“When did he move out!?” she asked. I grinned at the four bare walls and furniture-less room.

“Apparently when you weren’t lookin’!” I said she turned around and crushed herself to my chest. God I loved the feel of her against me.

“Are you sure?” she asked apprehensively, chewing her bottom lip.

“Does the Pope shit in the woods?” I asked borrowing a favorite saying of Reaver’s. She snorted, getting the joke and I kissed her.

“This house was and is full of ghosts of my mom for my dad. He was pretty much moved into the new club house the day we took it over. He only stored shit here and came to crash so I wouldn’t be living alone, he worried about me being on my own… but I’m not alone anymore. I got you, and when he figured out you weren’t going anywhere he moved the rest of his shit out.” She gazed up at me adoringly and smiled.

“You’re stuck with me you know.” She said and I smiled.

“Better be.” I said.

“Oh you are mister…” she said, dragging me back into the bathroom I raised an eyebrow.

“What’re you doing?” I asked her.

“Making love to my man in the shower.” She answered and let go to turn on the tap. She shouldn’t have presented that heart shaped ass to me so nicely. One, because I slapped it and two, because after snatching the condom out of my wallet, I took her again, bent over the tub.

I loved her. I loved living with her and when the time was right… I had every intention of making E.M.M., E.M.T. and heaven help me, she kept it up, I was going to need a medic!
