Situating ourselves I sit in front of him in between his legs with my back reclined against his chest.

“I never thought I’d have this, you know.” Blue whispers over my shoulder. “I never thought when I became a Hunter that I would ever have the chance to have someone I loved in my arms. From day one I vowed off of ever loving anyone. I was too afraid of losing them.”

“After Gage died I never thought I’d have this either.” I confess softly.

Hell, I never thought I’d ever be happy again.

I had feared the day when my reoccurring dream would drive me mad and I ended up taking my own life just to have some relief.

“I love you, Blue.” I add softly as I turn my head to kiss him.

“I love you too.” He replies with a grin.

W
e only have today and tomorrow to get this done, Harley, I don’t know if I can handle it all.” I groan as we walk through the aisles of a wedding store.

“We can do this, Parker. Ariel is getting the food figured out and we’ve nearly gotten most of the supplies that we need. All we have to do is order flowers, find you a dress, and pick out a cake. The rest will fall right into place.” Harley reassures me for the millionth time.

“But…” I trail off as Harley gives me a death glare.

“No buts, Parker. We will make this perfect even if I have to kill someone.” She states seriously.

I nod and continue down the aisle as we place plates and other necessities into our shopping cart.

At the end of the aisle I stop abruptly.

Lake was standing right in front of me wearing a disgusted look.

“Did you kill him?” He clips out.

I sigh roughly and shake my head. “I didn’t kill him, Lake. I saved his life. He’s doing fine, we’re actually getting married.”

He snorts. “You can’t be serious.”

“I am serious.” I clip out in annoyance.

“Why are you here, Lake?” I change the subject.

I just wanted to get straight to the point of why he was here.

“I’m here to give you a message from Pops.” He replies. “He wanted you to know that the truce your father has between the Hunters and his pack still stands but you are exempt for turning Hunters into wolves.”

I nod my head but Harley pushes past me to poke Lake in the chest. “She saved my life and Damon’s. The Hunters have no right to go after Parker. Damon and I both have no grudges against Parker for what she did.”

“She should have let you die.” Lake spits out. “The only reason you don’t hate her now is because she has you tricked.”

“Leave it alone, Harley. They will never understand.”
I state in her mind to keep her from attacking Lake.

She nods and glances back at me. “I’m happy I’m no longer blind to the truth.” She clips out at Lake before pushing past me again.

“Is that all you have to say?” I ask Lake.

He nods and then lunges forward with a knife held in his hand.

I grab him before he can plunge it into my chest and growl as I look into his eyes. “You have some nerve trying to do this out in the open. Next time I won’t let you live.” I warn before breaking his wrist and shoving him away.

Whimpering Lake rushes off and out the main door of the store.

I sigh and pinch the bridge of my nose before reaching down to pick up his discarded knife.

Turning around I slip it into the back of my jeans before forcing myself to smile and join Harley as she picks out some burlap cloth.

“He really had some nerve.” Harley growls.

I nod my head in agreement and then focus my mind on what we had to do next.

I couldn’t dwell on what he had said.

After a few more minutes in the wedding store we walk out with six overloaded bags each. Shoving them into the car I keep my eyes open for danger.

Since Lake had given me my warning I knew there would now be danger hidden around every corner.

I had to be ready to fight for my life at any given moment.

And I had to be prepared to order Harley to run away for help.

Once we’re in the car and Harley begins driving down the road I finally allow myself to relax, although only slightly.

“Where are we going next?” I sigh softly.

“We’re getting your dress and then we’re going home. I’ll have the cake people come to us. The last thing I need to do is haul you around to places that aren’t safe.” She replies.

“We could always have one of the pack members bake my cake. Some of the ladies are very talented when it comes to baking.” I suggest.

Harley nods in agreement. “It probably would be better.”

I
t doesn’t take long for us to arrive at the dress store that Harley had picked out.

It was a store clear across town near the Redwood Pack’s territory.

I was nervous getting out there but Harley didn’t seem to care one bit that we were right on the border of a pack that could easily destroy us.

Getting out of the car Harley laughs as I slowly climb out. “They aren’t going to hurt us. I made some calls and actually invited them to come to your wedding. The alpha was all too excited to see you again.”

“You invited them?” I ask in disbelief.

She nods. “I figured we could kind of use this wedding as a way to make friends with the other surrounding packs. That and he had been really kind to us when we ran through his territory last time.”

I nod but bite my lip. “Did my father approve of this?”

“He actually liked the idea.” She replies.

That was a huge surprise but like Harley had said it was a way of making new friends and allies.

Walking into the dress store hits me like a wave, this was really happening, I was going to be getting married.

I turn to Harley and she mimics my look before we both squeal with joy.

“You’re getting married.” Harley squeals once more before an older lady with short blonde hair greets us.

“How may I help you girls?” She questions.

“Rixon Haynes called in earlier for us.” Harley replies.

The lady’s smile brightens. “Oh, yes, he did call. Which one of you is his daughter?”

“I am.” I reply as I step forward.

“Well, it’s nice to meet you, Parker. My name is Nancy and I will help you out with whatever you need today.” She replies as she moves over to the doorway that we had come in and turns her open sign to the closed side.

As she walks back over she looks me over. “Do you have an idea of what you want?”

I shake my head. “I honestly don’t know.”

“What’s the theme of your wedding?” She asks next.

“It’s a rustic theme.” I reply.

She nods her heads as she gets lost in thought for a moment. “How about I pick out some dresses and bring them to you. We can try them on and you can pick out what you like the best and we can go from there. How does that sound?”

“That sounds good.” I answer with a bright smile.

She motions for us to follow her through the store before we stop in a room with a wrap around mirror.

“You two can sit there and I’ll be right back.” Nancy states and then leaves Harley and me alone.

As we sit my phone chirps with a message.

Blue:
Is everything going alright?

Me:
Everything is fine. We ran into Lake though.

Instead of messaging me back he uses the connection between us to talk.
“What happened?”
He asks worried.

“He came with a warning.”
I reply shortly.

“And…”
Blue pushes.

“And he might have tried to kill me.”
I confess.

After a moment of silence Blue speaks again in my mind.
“I’m coming to wherever you are with Rowan, Dillon, and Damon. I’m not leaving you alone again.”

He doesn’t give me a chance to argue with him before our connection ends.

I place my head into my hands and groan.

“What’s going on?” Harley asks.

“The guys are coming. They don’t want us to be alone.” I sigh.

She nods and then laughs abruptly. “You’re terrible at keeping secrets.”

“I can’t keep anything from him, Harley.” I shake my head and laugh along with her.

“That’s what love does.” She grins.

Nancy soon returns with an entire rack of dresses for me to try on.

I grin and stand up before sorting through them picking the ones I liked best and removing the ones that I didn’t like at all.

By the time I make it through all of the dresses the door to the store dings alarming Nancy that someone was coming in.

“That’s probably my fiancé.” I state quickly.

She nods and moves out of the room before coming back with the guys following close behind.

Blue instantly pulls me into a hug before slipping the knife that I had gotten from Lake from the back of my pants.

He holds it in front of us as he searches my eyes. “You should have told me, Sweetheart.”

“I didn’t want you to worry.” I reply softly.

He nods and leans in for a quick kiss before stepping back and hiding the knife in the back of his own pants.

“At least now you can help me narrow my choices down for a dress.” I sigh.

He grins widely. “This might actually be fun.”

I snort and then turn to Nancy. “I’m ready to try the first one on.”

She nods and then leads me to a changing room just off of the main room while pulling the cart of dresses along with us.

She hands me the first dress. “I’ll be right out here if you need any help getting into it.”

I nod and then close myself inside the room.

Taking a deep breath I hold the dress up to my body before hanging it on the wall so that I could strip my jeans and shirt off.

A moment later I slip into the dress and hold the back closed as I study myself in the mirror.

The dress was strapless and had lace on either side of the beaded corset top.

The bottom fanned out and had a longer back that trailed behind.

I was instantly in love with it.

Stepping out of the room Nancy wordlessly helps me with the zipper in the back before stepping in front of me.

“This is the one.” She whispers.

I nod as I fight back my emotions.

She smiles brightly as she fixes my hair up a bit. “Watch his eyes when you step out. I guarantee he will love this dress too.”

I nod again and bite my lip before taking that first step towards where the others were waiting.

Before I reach the doorway I take a deep breath before stepping out onto the platform in the middle of the mirrors.
