Sleep, my child, and peace attend thee,
All through the night.
Guardian angels God will send thee,
All through the night.
Soft the drowsy hours are creeping
Hill and vale in slumber sleeping,
I my loving vigil keeping
All through the night.

Love, to thee my thoughts are turning,
All through the night.
All for thee my heart is yearning,
All through the night.
Though sad fate our lives may sever
Parting will not last forever,
There's a hope that leaves me never,
All through the night.

About the Author

ood-bye, Della. Write and tell us all about your new school, and come back for Christmas,” Della Anders said out loud as she stood for a long moment in the foyer of her uncle's house. “We'll miss you.”

No comment; she expected none. The foyer was empty of everything except Della Anders and her luggage. Even though everyone knew she was leaving for her new teaching assignment, Aunt Caroline had taken her two daughters to ZCMI to buy last-minute necessities for their European tour. Uncle Karl was in his office downtown, oblivious as always.
