Before she could answer, he cupped her jaw. “I love you, baby. I can’t stand the thought of not having you in my life.”

Nor could she. She broke eye contact and looked from one Davenport to the next, so proud to know that they would all be a part of her new family. Love overflowed at the realization of just how totally JP got her. He’d known she’d question how his family would feel about this, so he’d shown her before she could ask. She couldn’t be happier.

Leaning forward, she put her face in front of his, brought the microphone to her mouth, and whispered yes before forgetting about every single person watching them and giving him that kiss she’d promised.

books, this one did not happen alone. I wrote it alone, yes. Many, many hours alone. Yet it didn’t come together without the help of many friends. Without all of you, this book could never be what it is today.

Not only were you guys excellent when I needed a quick idea or just pure motivation to keep going, but I finished this book with you. her first story, “The Gigantic Talking Raisin,” in elementary school. Although it was never published, it was enough to whet her appetite for a career in writing. First, however, she would try her hand at a few other passions: baton twirling, softball, and music, to name a few. Voted Bookworm and Most Likely to Succeed in high school, she went on to earn a college degree in mathematics. Law spent years working as a computer programmer and raising her son, and she now devotes her time and energy to writing romance novels (none of which feature talking raisins). She is a past winner of the Romance Writers of America’s Golden Heart Award and currently serves as president for her local RWA chapter. A native of Kentucky, she lives with her husband in Middle Tennessee.
