He stood and gathered her in his arms. "That doesn't have to be done now. You two can talk all you want, but right now you need to go to sleep. It's your day off, and I need to get the alarm fixed. It's eight o'clock in the morning."
Her phone buzzed. She walked over to the dresser and picked up the unknown call.
"Hello?" she said.
"This is Silver Valley Hospital. Hannah Smith gave us your number to call to let you know she's being discharged today at ten o'clock. You can pick her up at the front desk lobby," said a pleasant-sounding woman.
"That's wonderful news. I'll be there." She smiled at Jeremy. "Thank you for calling."
She disconnected the call and kissed Jeremy. "No time for sleep. Hannah's being released. I need to pick her up from the hospital."
"Can't Marci get her?"
"I want to go." She kissed him again. "I want to do something normal, and it'll give me time to think about what I just learned. Besides, I've been worried about Hannah and want to take care of her."
He shook his head. "Go on then, baby. Get dressed and take care of your girl."
She hurried to the bathroom, stopped, and turned around. "You're going to follow me to the hospital to make sure I arrive without any problems, aren't you?"
Jeremy winked. She blew him a kiss. He was still her Jeremy.
T
he Moroad members living on the outside surrounded the fire pit behind the motel. Jeremy waited for the buzz to die down after news about the continual success of the extortion money, the recent events inside the prison, and the one death of an incarcerated MC brother honored. With first three months of being the president behind him, he looked forward to the future.
Soon, with the change of winter coming up on them, they'd concentrate on growing their numbers on the inside of the prison walls and keep themselves occupied on the outside, and hopefully out of the eyes of the law.
"I have one more announcement to make." Jeremy stepped forward into the light coming from the flames. "Lola's retiring from Moroad."
"Hell, again?" Bear scratched his stomach. "I thought she enjoyed the last few months."
"Maybe you wore her out." Gunner laughed. "You've been taking longer lately."
"Skills, man." Bear shook his head. "Ladies always come back for more."
Johnson elbowed Meese. "Lola can't leave, can she?"
"Nah, same rules apply to the women as the men. Moroad for life." Meese threw another log on the fire. "Who claimed her?"
"Nobody's claimed her." Jeremy ended the discussion. "She's going to work for Tiff, running Silver Girls. She's spent years dancing there and knows the business inside and out. Tiff needs someone she can trust downstairs and that way she's not putting in such long hours and can concentrate on Red Light."
"Is she staying at the motel or at the Sterling Building?" asked Jacko, from his position laying on the ground.
"She'll continue staying at the motel and keeping an eye on the Moroad women." Jeremy glanced over at the group of women and found Tiff sitting between Christina and Lola, her hands talking faster than her mouth.
"That all means she's hands off unless she wants to party with you." Jeremy gazed around the fire, meeting every man's eyes. "She's earned the rest."
"Hell, she'll still take my dick." Bear grinned through his busy beard.
"Respect, Bear." Merk grinned.
"Maybe, I'll claim her." Bear turned and yelled, "Lola, you ready to become my woman?"
"You're drunk, Bear." Lola laughed. "You lift another pint to those lips, and you won't have anything to offer me."
Bear let out a laugh that called the meeting to an end. Jeremy accepted a bottle of beer from Merk. He still had no information to share about the sheriff's investigation into Deputy William's disappearance. The longer the investigation took, the less pressure he had sitting on his chest, the closer freedom stayed in his view.
Tiffany carried over a plate of food. He set the beer on the grass at his feet and picked up the hamburger. A flash of light blinded him.
"Jesus Christ, baby," he said, around a mouthful of food.
Tiff slipped her phone back in her pocket and laughed. "Sorry. I wanted a picture for the extra frame on the wall. I don't think that will be the one I use."
He tagged her neck, pulling her close. "No more fucking pictures."
"Fine." She wrapped her arms around his waist. "Hurry up and eat, or we're going to be late."
He finished the rest of the food with Tiff watching his every move, grinning, and barely able to contain herself. That energy and excitement made him want to rush through the evening and take her straight to bed. Hell, there were vacant rooms at the motel for his disposal.
"So...the men know about Lola working for me now?" asked Tiff.
"Yeah." He wiped his mouth with the back of his hand. "She'll be okay."
"I think so." Tiff leaned into him. "She's happy. I mean, really happy. We're back to being friends. Though once in a while she seems scared that Cam will find out your history together."
Jeremy gazed over at Cam. His dad rested his arm across Christina's shoulders and kept her tucked at his side. Jeremy's chest warmed, and he caught his dad's emotionless expression and then Cam glance at Lola before returning his gaze to Jeremy. Without giving anything away, Cam dipped his chin.
"Everything will be okay." Jeremy tossed his paper plate in the fire and turned to Tiff. "Let's ride."
It took them a half hour to get away from the club, five minutes to get to the Sterling Building, and they'd arrived a minute before Marci pulled in beside Jeremy's motorcycle. Tiff slid off the seat, and Jeremy stepped over to open the back door of the building.
Four women stepped out of Marci's car. Tiff glanced over her shoulder at him and gave him a smile that told him exactly how she was feeling.
"Welcome, ladies." Tiff introduced herself. "Your rooms are upstairs on the second floor. We'll show you the way and let you settle in tonight. Tomorrow, we'll go over the rules, and you can make sure you're comfortable in the assigned rooms."
Jeremy leaned against the wall, his boot propping the door. The four prostitutes looked a lot like the last four. Young, limber, and either scared to death or over confident.
"Who's the big guy at the door." A woman with long blonde haired crossed her arms, pushing up her breasts to unbelievable heights. She eyed Jeremy up and down and settled on his chest.
He gave up on manning the door and stepped to Tiff's side and worked his hand up under her hair to hold her neck. The tight muscles underneath his hand amused him. His girl still got riled up when she feared another woman encroaching on her territory.
"His name is Jeremy. He's mine, and off limits." Tiff lifted her chin. "Why don't you all introduce yourself before we go in."
"Sunny." The blonde winked. "I'll bring warmth to the customer's lives and anyone who wants to spend a little time with me."
Tiff rocked forward to her toes. Jeremy brought her back to his side.
A slim woman with short, black, spiky hair waved her hand in front of her and giggled straight from her throat. "I'm Aubrey. I'll be here for three months. I don't like cheese or pickles. Do you have cable here? I can't miss the cooking shows. Chef Roman is hot. Did you see that show last week where he yelled at the girls working for him? I swear, I almost came on the spot. Any man who can talk that way to me would have me kneeling at his feet and begging for—"
"We're not one of your customers. Knock off the act." A tall, red-haired woman held out her hand to Tiff and nodded at Jeremy. "My name's Paige, and that's my real name. There's nothing fake about me. I look forward to working with Red Light."
"Whoa...uptight," mumbled Aubrey.
Paige turned. "Open your mouth again toward me, and I'll shove my fist down—"
"All right, ladies." Tiff looked at the last woman. "What's your name."
The woman hooked her hair behind her ear, moved her fingers in front of her, and worked her lip in worry. Jeremy studied her, recognizing her movements. He'd known a man in prison who had done the same thing.
"Baby, she doesn't talk," said Jeremy.
"Oh, okay." Tiff hid her surprise well and held out her hand. "It's nice to meet you. Can you hear?"
The woman smiled, transforming her whole face, and nodded. Tiff's shoulder's relaxed. "We'll have to figure out how we can communicate with you then."
The woman slipped her hand into her pocket and pulled out a piece of paper, handing it to Tiff. Jeremy read over her shoulder.
My name is Madison. I can't talk, but I can hear perfectly fine. If you need a response, I'll write my reply down on paper if it's necessary. I'm sure I'll do fine working for you. I've found that men appreciate a silent woman.
Jeremy chuckled. Tiff elbowed him in the stomach. He suspected Madison would be the most popular woman requested by the majority of the customers.
"Welcome to Red Light, Madison." Tiff rounded the women up, grabbed an extra suitcase, and motioned Marci, who'd stood back and waited to help, to lead the way inside the building.
Jeremy stayed outside, letting Tiff have time alone to help the girls. He took out his can of chew, filled his lip, and sat down on the wrought iron bench. Pretty soon, the evenings would grow colder, the snow would come, and Moroad Motorcycle Club would go on. Silver Girls and Red Light would thrive.
A car pulled around the corner. The sheriff's SUV rolled past. Jeremy stared at the vehicle, his pulse quickening. The sheriff drove out of sight and left him alone with only the street light buzzing.
Two minutes later, Cam followed by Merk and Jacko rode by. He nodded, holding all five fingers out to the side. They protected their president because they'd taken an oath. Cam protected him because he was his son. Merk protected him because he was the last connection to Merk's sister.
In return, he had his club. His woman. His life. And, a felony rap sheet a mile long.
Book 1 in the Red Light: Silver Girls series, featuring Madison's story.

ear Readers,
If you're reading this, you're one of the first to learn that my new series centers around the Red Light ladies. Each book will be a standalone. Each book will feature one of the ladies who show up in Federal to spend three months as a prostitute. That's right, these books will not be centered around a motorcycle club, but the Red Light ladies.
Now, I know what you're thinking...how can I have a heroine who falls in love with one man, and sells sex to other men? Cheating is the biggest trigger for romance readers.
I'm breaking all kinds of publishing rules for romance with this series. It can be done. I did it. You'll have to trust me, just like you trusted me to make you fall in love with felons and opened your minds to understanding those you normally don't understand.
I promise, you'll love the ladies of Red Light.
Now, for the exciting part that you can look forward to. I've created Bantorus MC series and Moroad MC series around Federal, Idaho. I'm obviously not leaving that world. You've met the men in both clubs, the men around the town, and can look forward to seeing some familiar faces step up to be the new heroes in the new series.
I hope you're ready and willing to stick with me while I release the first book of the Red Light: Silver Girls series.
