Prologue

"What do you mean they can’t find him?" Jackson Cole was going crazy. His little brother missing and with that fucking bitch? He’d kil her if he ever got his hands around her scrawny little neck. He hated himself but he truly believed he could kil her.

"Calm down, Jackson." Harley Banks rubbed his friend on the back trying to comfort him.

"Calm down. How can I fucking calm down? My so-called wife is out there with my younger brother doing God knows what and you want me to calm the fuck down? Fuck you, Harley."

He shrugged his best friend’s arm off and moved away to look out at the street.

Harley swallowed against the lump in his throat. Seeing his best friend crazy with worry scared him. He loved this guy and seeing him losing it just plain broke him.

"Where would she take him?" Harley tried to function against the waves of panic assaulting his body as he thought of Jackson’s twenty-one year old brother being led a stray by the older woman, Patricia.

"How the hell should I know? According to Tyler,
they’re in love,"
Jackson emphasized by making quote marks in the air with his fingers.

"I don’t know what I’ll do if anything happens to him."

Harley dropped to his knees before him, taking his face in his hands. "This isn’t your fault.

Tyler is his own man. If he wanted to screw around with Patricia then that’s his problem."

"I made a promise." Jackson broke down. His shoulders slumped, his eyes watering as the tears fell, his entire body giving up.

"Jackson, look at me, man." Harley forced him to look into his eyes. "This isn’t your fault.

Tyler chose her."

"I brought her here, Harley." His voice broke as his shoulders shook with the force of his sobs.

Harley held him, trying to give him comfort in any form.

"You didn’t know."

After a week-long trip to Las Vegas two years ago, Jackson had come back to Clifford Arbor with a pocket full of money and a wife. Patricia was beautiful. She had all the makings of the next Helen of Troy. Only Patricia was a malicious, conniving, brutal woman who enjoyed watching other people suffer.

"I couldn’t live with myself," Jackson’s voice cracked as he broke down.

"When did they start a relationship?" Harley asked, not sure what else to say. He smelled his best friend’s masculine scent and as always he fought with his sexual demons. This was not the time to make his attraction known to his best friend.

For about three years he’d been fighting his attraction to Jackson and being this close to him, especially after the jealousy of him having a wife, was too much for him. He was supposed to go with him to Vegas where Harley was going to tell him how he felt but instead a busted knee postponed his confession. Then Patricia happened. Now in his arms was the man he’d loved for as long as he could remember. Some days the attraction was too much for him to bear.

"Oh God, Harley. Make me forget." Jackson abruptly looked up, his hands cupping Harley’s face.

Jackson trembled as Harley took his hands.

"What do you want, Jackson?" Harley’s heart broke at Jackson’s pleading.

"I know, Harley."

His heart stopped for a split second before he let out a nervous chuckle. "What do you know, Jackson?" Harley coughed, trying to distract himself.

Jackson leaned in close and kissed him directly on the lips. Everything he’d dreamed about was received in one kiss. He leaned into him, his hands dropping from Jackson, taking control, kissing him with all the pent up lust and love from the last three years. It was enough to start a fire.

Harley realized he needed to stop this. Jackson wasn’t in the right mood. This was his way of forgetting about his brother and his wife.

"Jackson, stop." Harley pulled away, hating himself and his life in that one moment. If he didn’t care, if he didn’t love this man, then he would take advantage of him in this weakened state and for a short time he would know how it would be with the man he was in love with.

"I don’t want to stop." Jackson leaned in to kiss him again but Harley brought his hand up, pressing it to his lips to stop him. Jackson simply kissed his fingers.

"Jackson, stop this. You’re in shock and it’s understandable, but this is wrong." With his dick already tenting his trousers, putting Jackson off was one of the hardest things Harley had ever been asked to do.

"I know you want me, Harley. I’ve known for some time. I’m not stupid." Jackson stopped his attention on the fingers but moved his attention to the man before him. "I knew before I went to Vegas. You’re my best friend. Why wouldn’t I know when you changed towards me?"

Harley did nothing but stare at him, not knowing whether to laugh or cry.

"Why did you come back with her then?" The pain came back with renewed force.

"You were shagging every woman in sight and I figured it was a phase you were going through." Jackson shrugged but kept his eyes firmly on Harley.

"What exactly are you saying?" Harley let the tears drip down his cheeks.

"I love you, Harley. I always have and I always will." Jackson’s admission didn’t take the insecurity away.

"And when Patricia comes back with your brother?" Harley hesitated at the possible underlying doubt in Jackson’s actions.

"They can have each other. I already have the divorce papers for her to sign. I want her out of my life, Harley. It took some time to figure it out but I love you, not Patricia."

This time Harley broke down in full on sobs. Everything he dreamed about was coming true even if it did seem far-fetched. To make sure this wasn’t the cruelty of a dream, he pinched himself on the arm.

"Ouch," Harley hissed. No dream. This was real and it was finally happening. "What about a woman?" Harley asked.

He was under no il usion about the need of a good woman. He loved his friend but appreciated the softness of a woman and the fact that Jackson also had women on a regular basis.

"There’l be a woman out there for us. A woman who will love both of us. Look at Chase and Lawrence. Emily loves both of them. We could find that for us," Jackson said. "It worked for them, Harley. It could work for us."

Harley nodded. He could live with sharing a woman with Jackson.

"I love you," Harley whispered before he kissed Jackson.

He took Jackson’s hand leading him in front of the fireplace. Harley pulled his shirt over his head revealing his smooth, hard, muscular chest. With deliberate slowness he unbuttoned his trousers and let them fall to the floor. He stood before Jackson, naked and proud, waiting for the other man to follow his lead.

"Come on, Jackson. You’re scaring me." Harley cupped his crotch, hiding his aching erection. "Should we wait until you’re divorced?" Harley didn’t want to cause any more problems.

"The bitch is going to milk me for everything I’ve got. Anyway, she committed adultery with my own brother. She won’t fight and risk less money," Jackson told him.

"Strip then," Harley ordered.

****

Jackson removed his clothing, not spending time over the details. He wanted to be with Harley and couldn’t believe how long he’d waited to do so. Part of him had been afraid when he realized the extent of his feelings for his best friend. He supposed it was why he’d married the first woman he’d seen in Vegas. The biggest mistake of his life was becoming the cause for him to finally admit his feelings for Harley.

Once he was naked, he stood tall and proud. He’d seen his friend naked before, they’d grown up together. They weren’t two young boys mucking about anymore. They were men about to express years of feelings for each other.

Harley, like always, made the first move. He stepped forward until he was a breath away from Jackson. He stood there looking at Jackson, showing the other man he loved him.

Jackson reached out first, the one touch sparking between them like a bolt of lightning.

Harley embraced him, let out a moan and kissed his lips. Jackson’s fingers tunneled through Harley’s hair and held him in place while he took what he wanted. Harley cupped the other man’s head and deepened the kiss then trailed his tongue along his lips, coercing him to open up. For the first time they tasted each other.

They went to the rug before the crackling fire simply kissing, enjoying finding each other in the meeting of lips and tongues. Their hands stroked arms or cupped faces. They needed nothing else but the simplest of touches.

"I’m on fire," Harley admitted. He came up for air chuckling, breathless and totally aroused.

"Thank you," Jackson mumbled, lying back and staring at the ceiling.

"For what?"

"For letting me forget. At least for a while."

Harley went up on his elbow smiling wickedly at his best friend.

"I’m nowhere near finished with what I have in mind for you." Harley leaned down nipping Jackson’s nipple while his other ran over his stomach stopping above the mound of hair covering his cock. He stopped. His lips covered one nipple sucking it, lavishing attention then Harley moved over giving all of his attention to the other nipple, his free hand pressing down Jackson’s stomach, close to closing round his cock.

Jackson moaned and growled, shouting out his frustration wanting Harley to take the next step.

Harley came up, the intention in his eyes clear for Jackson to see.

Harley kissed his lips and moved down his body, flicking him with his tongue. He moved down nipping the flesh and moving ever so steadily closer to his pulsating cock. Jackson moaned as he felt Harley’s breath ruffle the fine hairs covering his balls. He wanted so much to feel his mouth wrapped around his aching length. The need unlike anything he’d ever felt.

"What are you doing to me, Harley?" Jackson moaned as Harley made his way down his body. He blew, moving the strands of pubic hair surrounding his dick.

"Making you forget." Harley swallowed him, taking the head to the back of his throat, sucking him down, squeezing him with his mouth.

He came up for air, circling the head and teasing the slit with his tongue.
