Chapter 14

[Living Just Enough For The City ]

The crew pulled into the Westin Hotel in Charlotte, North Carolina. It was CIAA weekend and traffic was heavily congested. Cars and SUV's were pulling in from every direction. The CIAA event had always been big, but since it moved to Charlotte a couple years ago it had became the main event of the year. From Thursday until Sunday traffic would be bumper to bumper, in uptown Charlotte.

Q and the rest of the crew decided to ride their bikes down Thursday and have the girls bring the car’s down on Friday. The guys were too impatient for the long lines of traffic, but knew the girls would be more than happy to push their convoy of exotic whips down to the “Queen City.”

You nigga’s hurry up and get changed, we going to the strip club tonight” Q yelled.

That’s what’s up, one of my dudes’s said the bitches are coming from everywhere this week.” Responded Tim.

I’m trying to see something exotic, you feel me?” June threw in.

No doubt, so everybody get checked in, and meet down stairs in an hour.”

Two Rum and Cokes, three Blue Motorcycles, and one plain Coke, Q requested to the topless waitress. The entire crew lounged VIP style, inside the strip club called "Onyx" located on Old Pineville Road.

June and the crew had been worrying Q for the last two years to hook them up with a new connect.

Q had just informed June about Diamond, and her two partner’s celebrity status on the streets of Charlotte, NC.

"Nigga, that bitch gangsta like that?" June asked.

"Homie, Diamond will kill yo' ass fo' God can get the news, Q told them.

"That's my type of bitch!” said June who was reaching for the drinks as the waitress approached their table.

As he reached for the second glass he purposely brushed the waitresses 'perky' nipple which caught her by surprise.

"Oops, my bad shawty," he said, not giving her time to exert much of a reaction.

Her face still held a slight frown until June reached into his pocket and pulled out a large stack of big faced one hundred dollar bills. 'He peeled off two of them, then placed them on the waitress’s tray, before he spoke again...

"Look shawty, buy yo' self sum 'em, anything, but plezzz, don't buy no bra..."

"Damn!" he screamed out in agony while still staring at the waitresses perfect set of tittles.

"Damn," he mumbled again before turning his attention back to Q.

"Like I was saying before I was so rudely interrupted. Diamond's good peoples, homie. She's definitely good for the bust..."

Did I hear someone call my name,” Diamond said walking up with her two Go Getters, Tammy and Jada.

"Damn, Diamond! What you been doing ma?" Q said while giving her body a look over.

"I've been working out and drinking milk nigga,” she responded, patting herself on the ass.

"What's up with you? I see you still 'that' nigga!”

Na, just trying to get my man situated before he holla at you."

"Diamond," June said before passing all three of them drinks.

"Blue Motorcycles... Damn, I like you already,” Diamond responded while sipping on her drink.

A while later Q was sitting in a quiet corner of the VIP section of the club enjoying his Coke when the vibrating of his Blackberry startled him.

"Yeah,” He answered.

"Hi Q,” It was Tee.

"What's up ma, you haven't left yet?" He asked.

"Yes, Quentel. We leaving now,” Tee answered over the loud music in the background of his cell phone.

"Where are you?" She asked.

"At the club ma.”

Which One?”

Onyx Babe.....”

"What?" Tee yelled into the receiver, cutting him off.

"A Strip club, Q?"

"Come on, ma. You know it ain’t like that. I had to meet someone here on business. Besides, I'm still trying to recover from earlier,” He joked.

"Don't play with me Quentel Jackson! I will have this car doing 140mph nigga...”

"I was only kidding, Tee,” Q pleaded with her knowing how serious she was.

They talked a while longer before saying their goodbyes. He checked his watched and noticed that it was already past one in the morning.

"Damn," Q mumbled as he walked over to his boys who were still getting their drink on. June and Tim were each getting lap dances from two chocolate honey's who were identical twins. Before leaving Q decided to play a joke on the both of them. Stepping closer to them, he whispered into Tim's ear, "Wifey's in here my nigga..."

"What?" Tim said tossing the chick off of his lap.

"You heard me Homie. Terri and Keshia just walked through the door,” Q continued saying while keeping a straight face.

When June noticed the look on Tim's face, it didn't take long before the other stripper went flyin through the air joining her sister on the floor.

No longer able to hold it, Q burst out in laughter as both of his homies fought to hide their hard-ons.

"My badd,” Q said to the two Double-mint twins lying next to one another.

"Nigga, what type of games you playing?" June yelled over the loud music.

Tim could only laugh, knowing the joke was on them.

"I'm out,” he said, giving them both a pound.

"Alright homie, but don't wait up for us," June said eyeing the two twins now sitting on the VIP's sofa.

Q turned and made his way through the crowd towards the exit. Moments later he stepped outside into the cool night air.

"Damn,” he mumbled as he inhaled the heavy smell of cigarette and weed smoke coming from his Gucci, sweat suit.

"I should throw this motha-fucka away," Q thought as he made his way to rental car waiting outside.

Once inside, he relaxed his body on the soft leather seat of the Mercedes Benz' . He gazed at all the activities surrounding him. Women were everywhere, some wearing their clothes to perfection, while others struggled to hide unwanted stretch marks.

Still gazing over the windshield Q noticed a familiar looking figure at the entrance of the club. He strained his eyes into focus trying to get a better look before the figure disappeared through the doors of the club. He grabbed his keys out of the ignition then rushed back inside the club.

Once inside Q saw the person he was looking for vanish behind a curtain near the back of the club.

He made his way to the rear and was about to enter the curtain when a voice stopped him.

"No one is allowed back there," a female's voice yelled above the loud music.

Q turned around and was once again facing one of the Double Mint twins he'd played the joke on with his boys earlier.

"AAh... AAh I was....”

"Is everything alright Cinnamon? And what the fuck are you doing back here playa?" A big, black, Abdula lookin motha-fucka asked staring directly in Q’s face.

Q held his gaze for a moment, then settled his eyes on the much too small T-shirt he was wearing with the word security written across the front.

"My badd Big fella, I just got side tracked,” Q told him.

"It's cool Tank," Cinnamon intervened on the conversation.

"Are you sure?" He asked again, in a hesitant tone.

"Alright. Cool, but I'll be right over there,” he said pointing towards the bar, and eyeing Q at the same time.

Finally he walked away.

"Thanks," Q said, not knowing what else to say after the joke he'd played on her and her sister earlier.

"Oh nooooo... you're not gettin off that easy," she said, placing one hand on her hip with her other one palm up facing him.

"Oh, it’s like that, huh?"

"Just like that," she shot back.

"You know you robbing a nigga without a gun," Q said, pulling out a neat stack of bills held in place by a diamond encrusted money clip.

He peeled off two one-hundred dollar bills.

"One is for your sister,” Q said passing them to her.

"This should take care of my sore 'ass' she said while rubbing her nude cheeks.

"Can I help you with sum em else,” she continued saying.

"Oh AAh... yeah I... I mean, the female that just walked through these curtains could you get her for me."

"Excuse me,” she said letting out a heavy sigh, "But do you realize where you are." There are at least twenty-five bitches back there..."

"Does she have a name?"

"Yeah... yeah, Kemba... I think."

"You think? Man," she screamed before disappearing behind the curtain.

Ten minutes later cinnamon walked back through the curtain with another stripper who hadn't noticed Q, yet.

"Damn, girl, I hope whoever this is, they looking for a private party, or sum em, because the rent is definitely over due."

"So my eyes weren't deceiving me," Q thought, as they approached him.

"Kemba," Q said, drawing her attention, She stopped walking towards him and just stared a few seconds before finally responding.

"Oh my god... Is that you?... Quentel? She asked.

Before answering Q instantly noticed how nervous she'd suddenly become.

"Yeah, I'm Quentel, but Q is cool.”

"You alright shawty?," he asked.

"I'm okay, Quentel... I mean Q,” she answered still fighting with her hands.

"Where is she, Kemba?" Q asked her directly.

"Please Q, don't hurt her. She made a bad decision. Besides, she has already lost everything.”

"Everthing... Kemba do you realize that, that one bad decision she made nearly cost me my fuckin life?"

"That's my whole point, Q. What almost cost you your life, did cost my cousin hers,” she said with sorrowful tears in her eyes.

"What do you mean, Kemba? What are you trying to say?"

Judge for yourself, Q." Kemba said, then pointed towards the large stage near the center of the club.

Moments later Q was standing only a few feet from the front of the stage which contained about four poles, all occupied by nude strippers. He watched as "Asia" moved her naked body in unison with the music, eyes closed gyrating her hips rhythmically to the sounds of Usher's "Making love in the Club." Her three inch heels seemed buried in a pool of crinkled up bills of all ages, ranging from ones to one hundred dollar bills. Men stood all around her salivating and drooling at the mouth, wanting one touch of Asia’s exotic body. A body that once upon a time gave Q’s mouth the same salivating and drooling effect. He continued to watch as she gracefully scooped bill after bill from her feet. As the music came to a close she prepared to exit the stage.

"Champagne," Q yelled getting no response. "Desirae," He yelled, this time using her government.
