Acknowledgment/ Dedication:

First I must thank my mom.

Dear Mom, I love you with all my heart. You are my anchor and have always been my biggest fan. Without your love and support I don’t know how I would have accomplished this book or the others I am working on. Your words of wisdom and encouragement are always cherished. I thank God for your birth and my passion for literature. Love always beyond words capacity, Deandre.

And secondly thank you GOD for your talent and guidance, I am nothing without your strength. Each day I awake and try and help those with the gift you gave me, expression. Writing has become second nature to me like breathing and I am grateful of your will to let me tell these stories to change lives. - Deandre

To my late soul-mate West,

You were that part of me that always believes in true love and I was appreciative of your love while we shared it. Few get the opportunity to find love, passion and support from their partner rather straight, gay, or bisexual and I found that in you. I weapped deeply when you passed, and I didn’t recover as graciously and swiftly as Ginger but I did love you. Never saying the words was my regret but our actions for one another said more than any words could. So I say to all those in the world, never hold back on looking for love or be afraid to try and find it. Our love was the stuff of epic romance novels and I live each day with a piece of me that will miss you. One day I will find someone else but you are always apart of my heart and soul.

Sincerely Calvin

Cyrosphere: Hidden Lives

Chapter 1:

She awakened with a smile, spring break ended two months ago and she wished she could spend her free time hanging at the beach lucky summer was days away. Ginger Artemis Solis, 15 year old looks at herself in the mirror. Ginger smiled at herself and thought I look good except for the sleepy in my eyes.

Ginger chuckled to herself.

Long dark jet black hair, a pair of huge brown eyes with a hint of blue that can be seen if light hits them just right. She wore little to no make-up, her reasoning why try to impress boys when she should be proud to be herself. Ginger was a proud Latina, whose parents were powerful demons.

Ginger has very unique who has spectular powers because she was an indigo. Indigos are superior forms of beings with psychic abilities. She would be able to control time over years of learning, not just stopping it but visiting past or future events. Ginger's ability was called chronokinesis; the power to manipulate time was only possible with one other person. She wasn't related to him, she didn't even know his name. One day he would be her mentor.

She was brushing her hair when she had a vision of downstairs. Bam it hit her out of nowhere, it was called psychometry, it is one of her other psychic abilities to touch an object and see events in the past and the future.

Ginger shook her head to try and focus back on the task at hand getting ready for school so she wasn’t late.

She was aware now that her mom was definably still home cooking breakfast before she opened the door of her room. The smells of bacon sizzling hit her nostrails and a smile creeped on her face. She didn’t have time to sit and eat as she checked her watch while walking down the stairs.

Ginger loved her parents, they made each day about family which only added to her unique boned with them. She teased them that people often called them the three musketeers when they were out as a family. Once she was down the stairs she felt the emotions of her bestfriend Francisco hit her.

Francisco Stovall, or Frost for short as he liked to be called was anxious about something. When he saw her Ginger could sense how happy he was. He had big news and Ginger hated her empathic ability sometimes but luckily it rarely flared up around her friends and family; so basically under control for now. Frost was her next door neighbor who she has knew since the second grade. They have had lots of adventures together. Entering the kitchen Frost was on a stool eating eggs and bacon. Her mom Sonia was a 5’6 woman of Latin descent with short brown hair with a few gray hairs.

Ginger spoke to Frost, “What you doing here so early?”

Frost replied, “It is Monday so we gotta catch the bus”.

Sonia jumped in, “Don’t be rude, Francisco is always welcomed here”.

Frost gloated with a smirk.

Ginger rolled her eyes.

Frost said, “You hear that I am always welcomed here. Emphasis on always. So I am practically family now”.

Sonia smiles and nods her head as she collects his plate which Ginger was sure had once been filled with food.

Sonia gave him a quick hug as he stood gathering up his backpack.

Seeing Frost and her mom Sonia together always felt strange due to the fact he was a demon like her family and a Latino. If he wasn't shorter, had lighter features she would've sworn they were related. She loved her family but come on even her mom was human and had a past. She only could imagine the stories of her past and how she perhaps had an illegitimate child somewhere. Ginger cringed at the idea.

Ginger grabbed an apple and a muffin ready to go. She kissed her mom cheek and dragged Frost by the collar to the door. She instantly knew what he wanted to tell her from that brief touch and saw a flash of him studying later.

Ginger was in Honor courses so helping Frost with Calcus would be a breeze. She could help him review at lunch since he was busy after school. They started to walk to the bus stop as Ginger yawned. She had stayed up late last night catching up on last night's English class. Frost wasn't great at math but wanted to be a financial advisor which she didn't fathom.

He wants to go to UCLA and with his grades she couldn’t think of a reason why he couldn’t. As they were walking to the bus, Ginger felt as if she were being watched. Lately she had been feeling that a lot but when she tried to use her telepathy, didn't detect anyone. Maybe all her powers were causing her rational thoughts to vanish.

She turned to see Mr. Silverdale her neighbor from down the street walking to his house on her block. Malcolm Barnabus Silverdale, 42 year old silver fox is also a witch. One of the most powerfulest witches or at least that were the rumors Frost tells her. Frost' parents travel between earth and the other worlds. Yes there are five other planets besides earth and Malcolm was said to rule two of them before retiring. He may look 42 but he is much older than that.

Ginger didn’t know him well and always spoke when saw him around here or there. She looked at him with admiration for the control he must have that she lacked but had to wonder to herself if he were so important than why is he hiding out here in suburbia? She ignored that deep gnawing feeling deep inside when suddenly one of his grocery bag busted open and a few items spilled out. He tried to juggle four bags and failed.

She ran across the street to help him out. Frost followed her lead but she knew he'd rather be anywhere else. He believed the rumors and thought Silverdale was trouble waiting to be uncovered by enemies he was sure to have if he was really 600 years old in witch years so his actual origins was a mystery. Frost was passive when it came to helping others. Frost would rather be somewhere else and not get involved in other people's affairs.

Malcolm replied, “Thanks for the help”.

Ginger responded, “Not at all. What are neighbors for”?
