She shook her head. “Mother, no. I won’t leave without you.”
“You will and you must. This is your only opportunity for
freedom. For love and happiness.”
She reached out, her fingertips resting on one of the
speakers. “I c-can’t leave you behind.”
Fainia cleared her throat. “Justin, if you love Saia, you
will leave
now
.”
“No!” She snatched her hand back and grabbed at the lock of
her harness.
“Saia, I have to,” Justin said softly, stopping her from
disengaging the lock.
She looked at him. He had tears in his eyes as well. “She’s
my mother!” Saia cried.
“Please, Justin,” Fainia begged.
While Saia cried uncontrollably, Justin activated a switch
and the transporter door closed. The vessel edged away from the dock. She
sobbed and clenched her hands on the armrests as they made a slow path toward
the exit.
“Saia, listen to me. Your mother knows what she’s talking
about.”
She turned away from him.
“She’s giving you a life of freedom. Don’t make all her
efforts be for nothing.”
Justin was right. Her mother was making the ultimate
sacrifice so that she could escape.
Saia sniffled and wiped the tears from her eyes. She stared
at the controls. “Tell me what I have to do.”
He nodded toward the center of the panel. “You see that red
lever?”
She followed his direction. “Yes.”
“Grab it, but don’t move it yet.”
She did as instructed. The transporter exited the bay and
eased into the darkened night.
“Pull the lever down as hard as you can on my mark.”
She nodded. “What does it do?”
“It’s going to free you from Olo.”
Free.
Noise roared within the transporter as the engines became
louder.
“Ready?” he asked, raising his voice.
“Yes!” she said, yelling over the rumble.
“One, two, three—mark!”
Saia pulled the lever with such force, she thought it would
break clean off.
JB watched her from the corner of his eye, clutching the
throttle. She didn’t let up as the vessel cut through the night, shaking as the
rush of air surrounded it.
“I can’t believe it. I’m finally going to be free,” she
said, her eyes trained on the window.
He placed a hand over hers. The throttle shook, but she held
tight. She turned and smiled at him.
She loves me.
At that moment, he realized he’d done the right thing. He’d
wanted her so badly that he never once stopped to think about the
repercussions. And there would be many.
Yes, her mother and Ship were on their side, but the thought
of Taio catching him and cutting off his head should’ve made him think twice.
But somehow, staring into her eyes made the fear of
dismemberment go away.
She is worth it.
“Escaping feels good, doesn’t
it?”
Her eyes began to water again. “Thank you.”
“Thank your mom and Ship for making this possible. I’m just
the man who’s crazy enough to follow through on the plan.”
She looked out the cockpit window. “I’ll be able to see her
again, won’t I?”
“You’ll see her again.” He would make certain of it. He
didn’t know how, but he had to try for her. “You can relax and let me take the
throttle.”
She let go and turned to the window.
He steered the transporter in the direction of Jess and
Rasha’s house, making sure to stay low to avoid detection. As they made their
way over Singha, she pressed her face closer to the window, peering down into
the water.
She sighed. “Beautiful.”
One day he was going to take her to all the loveliest places
he’d ever been. He would take her to visit Jori and Yeyet. Yeyet’s species
lived on a small vegetation planet. Her people reminded him of characters
straight out of a fairy tale. Her skin color was a dark brown that blended in
with the tree bark of her world, and she had long, wavy green hair that
mimicked hanging vines rustled by the wind. He gazed at Saia and smiled. She
would get a kick out of meeting them.
The grumble of the engine pulled his thoughts away.
She looked to him. “What’s the matter?”
“We’re flying so low. It’s hard on the engines to maintain
this speed at such a low altitude.”
She inhaled sharply. “Are we going to crash?”
He chuckled. “Not likely. We’re almost to Jess’ house, we’ll
make it.”
With one hand he eased off the throttle and with the other,
he flicked a switch that would help stabilize the pressure in the engines. He
initiated the engine cooling system and opened the vent. The small cabin filled
with heat, thickening the air.
The engines stopped grumbling. “I think that did it.” He
breathed a sigh of relief.
He pulled back on the throttle again, leveling out the
transporter and veering the craft to the left. He alternated the vents between
the open and closed positions. To leave them open continuously would fry him
and Saia, but to leave them closed would overheat the engines. When he thought
the transporter couldn’t handle the altitude any longer, he brought it down
lower, until finally he skimmed the tops of the trees that surrounded the
ocean.
He’d been to the house enough times to know they were close.
Jess had visited it at least once a week to work on some small detail or
another and he’d been her companion more times than he’d wanted.
Finally he spotted the blackened area in the dirt where he
had landed numerous times before. Instead of landing there, he drove past it
and settled down about a mile away from the house and next to a cluster of
trees.
As the vessel landed, she wiped the tears from her cheeks.
He gently squeezed her hand. “This will work.”
Saia nodded. “I trust you.”
He caught his breath. She trusted him. He couldn’t let her
down.
The door opened and immediately, refreshing night air
replaced the almost unbearably hot and sticky air of the transporter.
Screeching and howling came from the trees, unseen animals
alert to their arrival. Saia grabbed his arm and held on. She looked around
wildly, as if expecting an animal to jump inside the cockpit and attack her.
He chuckled. “You’re safe.” He opened the secure channel that
Ship had given him access too and typed an encrypted message.
She twisted her body to peek out the door. “Is there
anything out there that would kill us?”
He shrugged. “Probably.”
Her eyes flicked to him in a panic. “What!”
He laughed again. “I should have clarified. I’m sure there
are plenty of animals out there that
could
kill us, but we have
blasters. We’re safe. Besides, you should know more about the animals here than
I do.”
“I hardly ever leave Taio’s palace.” As creatures howled
loudly, she peered back out the door. “How long do we have to stay here?”
He released his harness and did the same to hers. “Only
until Ship can find us a way off Sonis.”
A high-pitched scream rolled through the air.
“Do…do you think we should stay in here while we wait?” she
asked nervously.
JB stood and grabbed the bags stashed behind his seat. “Naw.
I just sent Ship a secure message. I don’t know how long it’ll take him to
respond.” He reached for her hand.
She sank lower in her seat. “Sh-shouldn’t we wait for a
response?”
He kneeled next to her and ran a hand across her cheek.
“Honey, he can contact us in the house. Where it’s safer.”
A chaotic skirmish broke out. The trees teemed with hoots,
hollers and screams.
Her body shook.
He patted the blaster on his hip. “Blaster, remember?”
“Give me one.”
He rose and reached into his bag for the extra blaster. She
thrust her hand out, waiting impatiently. “Do you even know how to use one of
these?”
She shook her head. “No, but I’m a fast learner.”
He disengaged the security lock and handed it to her.
“Here.” Then rethinking what he’d done, giving a weapon to someone who’d never
used one before, he added, “Don’t shoot unless I tell you too. But most
importantly, don’t shoot
me
.”
“Right,” she said, inspecting her new weapon.
Right.
Knowing he wouldn’t be able to take the blaster away from
her now, even if he tried, he jumped from the transporter and held out a hand.
She took it and jumped out next to him.
JB looked toward the trees and at the leaves scattered about
and on the ground surrounding them. “I’m going to hide the transporter.” He
went to the tree line and gathered branches, then scooped up handfuls of leaves
and other debris from the ground, tossed everything over the transporter.
Saia peered around, aiming the blaster into the trees.
“Thanks for having my back.”
She nodded. “I’m going to shoot anything I see.”
Luckily none of the animals ventured out from the confines
of the trees. Otherwise they would have been fried by Saia.
After the transporter was fully covered and he was convinced
it wouldn’t be visible from the sky, he led the way to Jess and Rasha’s house.
Saia didn’t complain as she followed him through the woods.
She kept her blaster aimed at the trees, but better aimed at them than at him,
he figured. When they arrived, he opened the door and let her enter first. As
far as he could tell, the house was fully decorated, but Jess seemed to think
there was so much more to do to make it homey.
It had everything Jess and Saia needed—food, shower and a
bed.
“Rasha and Jess are leaving for their honeymoon in a few
days. If by chance they try to stop here before, Ship has agreed to deter
them.”
“Ship wouldn’t be able to keep me away if this were my
home.”
“You wouldn’t mind living in something like this?”
She lowered her head, hiding her face. “In the palace, my
every move is tracked. My father constantly fears that I will cause
embarrassment to him or his family name.”
He moved her hair off her shoulder. “If you had the chance,
where would you want to settle down?”
She looked up in thought. “I don’t think I would settle
down. Not right away, anyway.”
“What would you do?”
“I would travel the galaxy. No, I would travel
all
the galaxies! I would visit as many worlds as I could.” She looked at him.
“Where would you go?”
He cradled her chin between his thumb and finger. “I would
follow you.”
She sighed as he captured her lips with his.
This wasn’t the first time he’d kissed her, but it felt as
if it was. His tongue parted her lips, claiming entry into her mouth.
Hesitantly, she met him. Their tongues danced slowly at first, playing and
teasing.
She pressed closer to his hard body, needing to feel him
against her. Her chest heaved. There just wasn’t enough air in the room. She
pulled his hips to meet hers, immediately feeling the hard outline of his cock.
His breath hitched. His hand fisted in her hair as his
tongue became needier. Her body hummed with anticipation, making her forget
about everything else. Their escape. King Xochis. Nothing mattered but
them—this.
He pulled his mouth away and wrapped his arms around her.
“We should probably stop.”
She ran her hands around his hips and gripped the nice
curvature of his ass. “Why?”
She didn’t want to stop. She wanted him. All of him.
He groaned and rocked her gently. “Because I have to make an
honest woman out of you first.”
She nipped at his chin and squeezed his butt. “I’m not a
woman.”
“You’re a Drazlonian princess. I have to do right by you,”
he said, sounding as if he were trying to convince himself.
A wicked thought crossed her mind. “You want to do me
right?”
“Argh! I’m trying to be good and you’re not making this
easy.”
She licked his ear and wiggled against him. “I want you to
be good.”
His cock jumped against her. “I’ll be better than good,” he
said in a throaty whisper.
“In my room…you were good, especially when you did that
thing with your tongue.”
“I did a lot of things with my tongue.” He groaned again and
let his head drop to her shoulder. “If I was smart, I would push you away and
go take a cold shower.”
“Can you do that again?” she asked.
“Aww,” he moaned.
She maneuvered her hand between their bodies, finding the
outline of his cock, grazing her hand over it. “Please.”
He pushed away. “I tried.” He pulled at her dress. His hands
grasped the hem and worked it up her body. She wiggled it over her head and
tossed it on the ground before removing her shoes.
His gaze raked down the length of her naked body and then
slowly back up. She bit her lower lip, waiting for him to make the next move.
Hungrily, he watched her. “No one ever said I was smart.”
She yelped as he scooped her up into his arms. “Will you
teach me how to use my mouth on you?”
He stumbled as he carried her down the hallway, banging his
arm on the wall. “You’re going to be the death of me.”
“Is that a yes?” she asked as they crossed the threshold to
the bedroom.
He placed her gently on the soft surface of the expansive
bed. “My wish is your command.”
He worked to unfasten the ties of his pants. His cock
bounced free. It was glorious. She reached out for it, and he inhaled sharply
as her fingers skimmed the ridge of his head. “It’s so hard, but…” Her hand
wrapped around him. “So soft.” She licked her lips. “I want to taste it.” She
looked up to him. “Tell me how.”
“You—” The word croaked out. He cleared his throat. “You can
kiss it first.”
There was nothing else she’d rather do.
She licked her lips and leaned forward, brushing them
lightly across his head. It was even soft on her lips. A deep, throaty moan
sounded from his chest as she placed another kiss over the ridge. His body
shuddered, making her feel confident she was doing it right. She held him in
her hand and placed kisses down the length of his cock, following the distended
vein to the base.
“Just like that,” he groaned, letting his head fall forward.
She stroked him slowly and placed feathery kisses on his
hanging sac.
His hands fisted in her hair. “Damn,” he whispered.
She let his sac rest on her mouth and chin as she kissed and
licked it. Hairs tickled her nose. With each kiss, her mouth opened wider,
until she finally pulled one side of him inside.
He lifted on his toes. “Shit.”
She looked up to see him biting his lip and staring at her.
Her hand stroked the length of his cock, her tongue played with him.
The muscles in his legs flexed. “This is—”
She sucked and tugged harder. His breath caught. She
released him, only to pull the other side into her mouth.
“Ahh.”
She let his sac fall and it brushed against her chin. She
gave it another light kiss before running her tongue from the base and
following his vein back to the tip of his head.
Clear fluid coated his slit. “What is this?”
“Pre-cum,” he bit out.
“Should I taste it?”
“Saia…”
Yes.
She used her tongue to scoop up the salty
liquid.
He groaned and jerked his hips forward. His cocked pressed
past her lips. “Suck it,” he commanded. He used a hand to guide her down on his
cock. Then he grasped
her
hand, making her squeeze tighter around his
base. He pulled tight as they stroked him together. Humming with pleasure, she
closed her eyes, letting him fill her. She enjoyed how he felt in her mouth and
on her tongue.
“Look at me.”
She did as told. She caught sight of his lustful eyes
watching her. She tightened her lips, working them down his length. He mouth
opened and closed, but no words came out. Spit dripped over her lips and down
her chin to land on her breast. Each drop sent sensual pleasure down her spine.
