I had a very weird
,
almost phantasmagorical dream tonight. A
young beautiful, almost ethereal
woman told me
her name is Lilith and began
seduc
ing
me with her fiery kisses and  touch
as delicate as a butterfly’s wing
s. It was weird because I never felt sexually attracted towards women, although now I don’t know anymore…

And suddenly Lilith  smiled showing her sharp fangs
and my o
wn scream awoke me from this sensual and frightening dream.
And n
ow I’m sitting and writing this while looking at my watch. 8

.… I
t’s time to start another monotonous day.

Blake closed the diary and hid i
t in the deepest pocket of his jacket. Did
Lilith, the mother of all immortals
. visit
Carrie in her dream? Why would she do that? Did she
want to get to know her future victim? If so, why did
Carrie describe thi
s meeting as an erotic fantasy?
Maybe Lilith has completely different plans towards her?

Blake didn’t want to dwell into it. He had much more important things
to attend to. The rite of the Bloodmoon will happen today
and he has to p
repare the others. For a moment
he thou
ght about inviting Carrie to it
but he decided it was to
o
early to bring her to the headquarters of the Dark Star.

Although he had another idea
but he had to make haste if he
wa
nted to finish before nightfall. H
e left his room and went straight to the  living room where he met the others
.

“Jake”
Morton
turned
to his brother. “You’ll drive me to Carrie’s home”

Jacob looked at him suspiciously
.

“Why?”

“Oh
,
I just want to visit her and give her back what you took. Is it so bad that I want to do a good
thing
for once?”

“What did you find out from the diary?” Zack
asked
while the others
were observing
him intently
.

“There was nothing interesting at first. Carrie described that
Friday evening at the Delirium C
lub.
But
under that
note
there was another one in which she described her dream.
Lilith  in some way entered her subconscious
but
I don’t kno
w why she did it

“Our mistress is wise and knows what she’s doing

Mikalea
said as she stood up and got
close
r
to Blake that their eyes met and
she
lowered her voice to a whisper “Do you have to go to her? Do you
really
prefer
to spend
your time with th
is mortal than with me? You
promised me something
,
Blake…”

Morton shook with
an excitement.
He
never
could resist Mikaela

s charm. Her eyes
were hiding
an unexplored secret and her delicate mouth
were promising
kisses. He c
overed her waist with his hands
and hugged her
tight.

“Of course
,
my dear, in real I
’ve got
plans relating to tonight
’s B
loodmoon. That’s why me and Jacob are going to that
girl.
And when we come back
,
Jonathan will give us a wedding
and we
will
be together forever.

He kissed her so passionately that her head spinned and she had to sit as not to faint.
Then
Blake turned to Jacob and they both left the house. After a while Zack,  Aidan and Mikalea heard only the so
und of the squeaking tires the j
aguar made as it left.

Chapter 5

“C
ool party
!” a little drunk
Jay
screamed and then
he started jumping
all
arou
nd the room like a madman and dancing
to the rhythm o
f
Pretty Fly (For A White Guy)
by The Offspring
.  Carrie didn’t pay much attention to him. She invited him and Paige to help her
to find her lost diary
but obviously Jay  didn’t care about that.

“Did you check every corner of your house?”

Carrie blinked a few times and looked at Paige who
was sitting
next to her.

“Yes, multiple times
and it’s nowhere to be found”

“Was there someone in your room on Saturday?”

“Jacob. Bu
t…  You don’t think that… No!” Carrie laughed “
No
,
that’s impossible. I can’t explain it but he has something in himself that makes me trust him completely. He defin
ately didn’t do it”

Paige laughed too,
although it was obvious sh
e didn’t entirely believe her. Maybe she wasn’t the smartest girl in the world
but you
couldn’t fool her so easily.
Some
times she spoke quite logically
and maybe
this time she was also right.
Only J
acob visited Carrie on Saturday
and no one knows what he did when she left the room to change
her clothes

Sudden
ly Carrie felt that someone is
touching her
. It was Jay who
  fell
tiredly
on her couch.

“So you expect us to play Sherlock Holmes and help you
to
solve this mystery?”

Carrie looked at him  pleadingly
.

“It would be nice

Jay smiled
widely that
she
could smell the alcohol from his mouth
.

“Cool! It’s the notebook with hearts, right?”

The girl nodded her head. Dalton
always searched for adventures
so his over-the-top reaction  to every problem was normal.

T
he doorbell ra
ng. Carrie ran to open the door
and froze when she saw the Morton twins. It would be hard to
discern them at a first glance
but Carrie  had no problems with it – she knew that Blake was the one
who put on a fake polite smile
and Jacob was the one with the serious face that made his face
look even
smooth
er
.
Her heart stopped for a moment from fear and excitement.

“Hello
, Carrie”
Blake
said
with a devilish smile “Will you let us in?”

The girl quickly recovered her senses an
d moved away
and they went in and started looking around. Paige immediately came closer to them.

“What’s that?” she whimsically remarked
“I didn’t
know that this handsome boy has
a twin brother… Hello, my name is Paige Blackmore, I’m Carrie’s best
friend and this is Jay Dalton” she said
while pointing
on
the boy lying on the couch.

Blake looked at her as if no one else existed
but after a while Carrie’s voice caused him to turn around, just like his brother
.

“What do I owe this visit?”

“We came because we caught the
one who stole this from you”
Blake reached dow
n to the deepest pocket of his j
acket and
took out a notebook in hearts
“We got it back for you. Here
, take it

Carrie uncertainl
y put out her hand and took
her diary back. She l
ooked through it quickly
and looked
straight in Blake’s eyes.

“How… How do you know it’s my diary?”

Mor
ton moved his hand dismissingly
and said:

“Oh, it’s unimportant.  There’s nothing to talk about”

The girl didn’t believe
him
.
Hi
s behavio
u
r seemed
to be
awfully
suspicious. She didn’t know why
but suddenly she started feeli
ng anxious. She looked at Jacob
who shrugged his shoulders.

“Oh
,
well. The search is over. I was so excited about it! It turns out that we’ll spend another afternoon through sitting on our asses and watching bad horror movies”

Everyon
e looked at the complaining Jay
who
opened a can of bee
r and took a big sip from it. A plan appeared in Blake’s head You want
a horror? No problem.

“Maybe not” he said “
I just wanted to ask you. Don’t you want to
come to our home in the evening
?
We are celebrating a family holiday
and w
e wanted to invite a few people
and Carrie
’s friends are our
friends. So what do you think about it?”

Jay and Paige got excited instantly
.

“Of course, when should we be there?”

“10 p.m.
is fine. We like to party late at night. Oh
, and we live quite far from here in a big mansion.
Oh
, look,
here
we are wasting our time talking
while
the time is running out.
We have to go
now and prepare everything”

Blake patted Jacobs shoulder
and they both left Carrie
’s house. When the doors closed
the girl
looked condescendingly on her g
uests.

“What?” Jay asked
“Should we die of boredom? It’s going to be a hell-of-a-party
,
woman!”

“Exactly” Paige added
“ I like this ee….”

“Blake” Carrie
said.

“Yes. I liked this
Blake and I want to seduce him
and you’ll spend more time with your Jacob. Isn’t that wonderful?”

Exactly, Carrie
thought
. Wonderful. There’s nothing better than to go with your f
riends to a house of two twins
keeping some kind of dark secre
t.

Everything is almost ready
. We just have to wait for our g
uests to arrive

“And what do you plan to do with them?”

Blake looked at Jacob and the
triumph shined in his
e
yes.

“It’s simple.
This jock and
the blond
e will be a sacrifice
for our mistress”

“And Carrie? Will you
let her
witness it all?”

“Of course. I want to examine her psychological resilience. If she does anything to help t
hem, Lilith will kill her too

“I won’t
let you both do
it!”

“E
h
… You know
what
,
Jake? I have
enough of your jabbering. The Bloodmoon ritual will happen whether you
like it or not”

Blake left the living room an
d headed towards his own room.
He could
n’t keep his emotions in check.
“Why does Jacob have to be so stubborn?
Why is he defending the girl?
Is it possible that there’s true emotion
s between them?
Relationships between vampires and mortals usually end very badly. What should I do about it? Oh, if only Lilith was here…”
