That’s how I fall asleep, holding the two most precious people in my life, with a smile on my face.

The next morning we’re woken by continuous knocking on the front door. I get out of bed and throw on a pair of shorts. I open the door to find my mom on the other side, she has bags with her. She pushes past me and into the kitchen.

“Mom what are you doing here?” she looks at me like I’m the fucking mental one.

“Son, I told you yesterday I was coming over to check on your girlfriend. So I decided I would make her breakfast, because I know how you cook. You burn everything.” She tsks at me then turns and carries on getting everything ready. I leave her to it and start making coffee. I go back to the bedroom to find Sophia sitting up in bed, fully clothed.

“Babe, want to tell me why you’re not in bed waiting for me.” I ask and she laughs.

“Nathan, I’m assuming it’s your mom in the kitchen.” She says and I chuckle.

“Yeah babe, who else would be in my kitchen?” I really hate my mom for cock blocking me. Sophia laughs, I take her in, she looks fucking beautiful. Her face lights up with her laughter. I stalk towards her. She looks wary. I block her on the bed. I have one knee on the bed and my fist is leaning on the pillow.

“Nathan, what are you doing?” Soph asks looking worried.

“Babe, I want to strip your clothes off, I want to lay you down and feast on your pussy. I want to drink your juices as you cum, then I want to push my dick into your hot, wet pussy.” I see her swallow, she blinks. She is stunned. I get up and walk towards the bathroom. I’ve a fucking erection yet again.

“Nathan?” she says in such a sweet voice, it has me turning to face her. She has the sweetest smile on her face.

“Yeah, babe?” I watch as she walks up to me. She makes it to me and reaches up on her tip toes and kisses my cheek, I’m so distracted by her smile I don’t notice her hand travelling down until she pulls my dick out and starts jacking me. She then gets down on her knees and starts sucking me. Damn, her mouth feels fucking amazing. I lean my head back against the door, when she suddenly stops. My eyes fly open to find her standing with a massive smile on her face.

“Payback’s a bitch. Don’t ever forget that.” She turns to walk out. I grab her arm and spin her around to me. I lean down and take her mouth. The kiss is slow and sweet, she moans. She pushes me off her, I back away.

“Nathan, I love you, but I’m not going to have sex with you whilst your mom is outside.” She reaches up and kisses me on the lips once more before leaving the room. I’m left standing here with the biggest fucking hard-on ever. Cursing my mother for being a fucking cock blocker.

Chapter Seventeen
Sophia

Nathan’s mom didn’t stay long. I came out of the bedroom and faced a middle aged woman who was really stunning; she had black pixie hair and massive green eyes. She was short but svelte. She walked straight up to me and gave me a hug.

“Nathan told me you were in a car accident; I hope you are okay? It’s Sophia, isn’t it?” I smile at her; she seems really nice.

“Yes, or Soph, I’m fine Mrs. Slade. I had a cut on my forehead, but it’s fine now, thank you for asking.” She has a really nice smile.

“Come on, I made you something to eat, you need to keep your strength up. How do you drink your coffee?” Before I can even answer Nathan answers for me.

“She doesn’t drink coffee mom.” seriously when did I become a ventriloquist?

“Nathan, she is able to speak for herself, she was doing just dandy before you came in.” Oh his mom is bossy! That’s where he gets it from.

“Ok son, I just wanted to make sure Sophia was okay, I can see that she is, so I expect her to be at the next family dinner.” I must have a stunned look on my face, because Nathan chuckles and Mrs. Slade laughs.

“It’s not that bad dear, we are civilized most of the time. Okay, I’m off, it was lovely meeting you Sophia.” I smile at her; she is so proper.

“You too, Mrs. Slade.”

“Pish-posh, enough with the ‘Mrs. Slade’, my name is Kitty, use it.” I nod, I freaking love his mom. she hugs me and leaves, Nathan looks harassed.

“What’s wrong with you?” he stalks over to me.

“What you did earlier in the bedroom, baby, I’ll get you back, bet your ass I will.” He kisses me then walks to the kitchen.

I texted my dad last night to tell him I was coming over to talk to him, I really do hope that woman isn’t there, I can’t handle it. I’m under strict instructions from Nathan.

“He says something, and it upsets you, you leave, get into your car but you don’t drive. You call me. You’re pregnant Soph, nothing can happen to you. Do you understand?”

He’s been in hulk mode ever since he found out I’m pregnant. The fucker’s forgetting I’ve done 7 years in the army. I know I can’t get upset, it’s not good for me or the baby.

I make it to dads at eleven, I see both Luke and Scott’s cars here, looks like it’s a family meeting. I walk into the house.

“About time you got here. Coffee?” Scott says from the kitchen; I walk towards him. Fuck, I can’t have a coffee but it smells amazing.

“No thanks.” He raises his eyebrows in question, but doesn’t say anything.

“Where is everyone?” Usually Luke and Scott are together.

“Luke’s talking to dad out back.”

“Ok, but why are they outside? Couldn’t they talk in here?” Scott looks uncomfortable.

“Look Soph, when you were in the hospital, it came out why you were upset with dad, I’m fucking pissed at him, whereas Luke seems to think everything is fine.”

I didn’t want this, I didn’t want everyone turning against each other, we’re family, we’re meant to support one another, but I do feel gratified that I’m not the only one to feel pissed. I look at Scott, “Might as well get this over with.”

We head outside and hear the tail end of the conversation.

“They’ll come around dad, don’t worry.” Of course that sets Scott off.

“Come around? The man almost got his daughter killed, my sister killed. I won’t come around, and how can you stand there and act like he’s done nothing wrong? He let her get behind the wheel knowing full well she was not in the right frame mind to be behind the wheel. But as long as you keep the peace, and it doesn’t involve you, you don’t care.”

I’ve never heard Scott speak like this to Luke before. “What the fuck, where did you get that idea? Huh?”

“You, you’ve given me that idea. You think that just because you’re some hot shot D.A. that whatever doesn’t involve you directly you don’t give a crap about. How many times over the past year have I come to you, and you turn your back on me? Yeah, exactly.”

I’m so confused “Scott, what’s going on?” he looks so lost. I walk to him.

“Scott, please, tell me.” I’m begging, pleading with my eyes.

He sighs. “While you were gone I met someone. I thought we were good together. I spoke to Luke about her but he kept blowing me off, turns out she was blowing him. Yeah my girlfriend was fucking my brother, and he didn’t say a word. I’ve tried talking to him, but he either blows me off or he doesn’t answer me.”

I run to the bathroom, just make it in time and throw up. How can someone do that? How could Luke do that? They are all waiting for me in the living room, I walk in. Scott is the first one to me, he whispers in my ear.

“You’re pregnant, I’m not stupid Soph, I know what that machine in the hospital was for, I was waiting for you to tell me, you need to take it easy, no getting upset.”

Not another one. “Scott, when did you turn into the pregnancy guru? Hmm how do you know so much about this stuff?” he’s smiling he looks over at dad and Luke, then back to me.

“I’ll tell you later.” I smile back at him, I love my brothers, but me and Scott, we have a stronger bond than I do with Luke. Yes, I love them the same, I just get on better with Scott.

“When you two have finished, can we sort out this mess?” Luke seriously needs to shut up.

“Yes your highness, we’re ready whenever you are!” I want to laugh at Scott’s response but the look on Luke’s face halts the giggle in my throat.

“I need for you all to know how truly sorry I am; I shouldn’t have done it. I can’t undo what’s been done, I’m begging for your forgiveness.” Dad gives us such a heartfelt apology; he has tears in his eyes.

“Why did you?” Scott asks the very question that was on my lips. I look at Scott; he looks so defeated, like he came ready for a battle, but one look at our dad, and the battle was lost by us.

“I have no excuse, I haven’t been with anyone in eight years, I was lonely, I lost my head, I brought her here, and it was the worst mistake of my life.” I gasp.

“You hadn’t been with anyone since mom?” I have to know.

“No, baby girl, your mom was the only woman, until the other day. I’m sorry that it upset you.”

I’m crying now, “It upset me that you brought a woman we didn’t know into our home, a home where we grew up, a home where mom raised us.” He nods, he starts to say something.

“Let me finish, I overreacted. See when I saw you with that woman, it finally hit home, mom is never coming back. It hit me that the woman who saved me is never going to hug me again.” I crumble, I fall to my knees I feel hands on me; I look up to see Scott’s teary face. He lifts me to him and holds me, rocking me.

“Don’t cry Sophia, you’re meant to be taking it easy, think of the baby.” I hear a gasp. Dad and Luke are staring at me with shocked expressions

“Shit” I whisper to Scott.

“They know now Soph.” Scott says and I turn my head back to them

“Umm Surprise” I say weakly making Scott chuckle.

“Lame Soph, real lame.” Scott tells me, like I didn’t know how lame I sounded. The moron.

While Scott goes to the kitchen, dad speaks to me.

“Soph, baby girl, how did I not know you hadn’t dealt with your mom’s death? I’m so sorry.” Luke laughs, it’s a sarcastic laugh.

“Yeah dad, when? Huh? When were you meant to have noticed? She upped and left as quickly as she could.” What the hell is this fucker’s problem?

“What the fuck are you talking about Luke?” He looks at me with so much anger is in his eyes

“You! Poor Sophia, always the golden child, it was always ‘look after Sophia’, why? In case your drug addicted whore of a mother came back? Mom took you in, she raised you, where were you? Where were you when she was sick?” Is he for real?

“Sophia was at school Luke, she was seventeen.”

“Come on Luke, get to what is really your problem.” My anger is coming thick and fast.

“My problem is you; you left and made us pick up all the pieces. You ran straight to the Army. You didn’t think of how your actions affected us!” I’m crying in anger now.

“Affected you? Fuck that, I was seventeen when mom died. You and Scott were gone, both having your own house, dad poured himself into work. So don’t you dare, don’t you dare act as if I left you, I was all alone.” I’m screaming at him now.

I feel arms around me, I look up, and it’s Nathan. I didn’t hear him come in.

“When did you get here?” he wipes the tears of my face, leans his forehead against mine

“Just now, I could hear you screaming outside, Scott rang me when you were getting sick.”  I nod, I’m still so pissed.

“If you don’t mind, we were having a conversation before you barged into the house.” I feel Nathan tense at Luke’s words.

“Conversation? You made your pregnant sister cry. What sort of man does that?”

Luke lunges for Nathan. I go to raise my fist to punch him. I’ve had enough. Instead of me hitting him, Nathan gets there first. Nathan punches him in the nose; I hear the crunch and see the rush of blood. I’m in shock, no one other than dad, Luke and Scott has protected me, but Nathan did it without a second thought.

“You just broke my nose.” Luke says glaring at Nathan.

“You deserved it you fucker, how dare you take your anger out on her, Sophia has done nothing wrong, the only reason you’re even looking for a fight is because I called you out.” Scott says, I’m getting annoyed now.

“Can someone please tell me what the hell is going on?”

Scott stands in front of the fire place, Nathan guides me to the sofa, and sits down beside me, dad takes the other side. Luke moves to the armchair, his nose still bleeding, I get up and grab an ice pack and towel, and I hand it to him and retake my seat. Scott sighs.

“About eighteen months ago, I met this woman Alex, she was beautiful, anyway I ask her out and she says yes, I take her out a few times. We were dating about three months when I come home to find her on her knees sucking Luke off.”

I swing my gaze to Luke. He doesn’t say a word.

“Well?” Dad asks Luke.

“Well, what?”

Dad stands up “Don’t take that tone with me; Well what do you have to say for yourself.”

He shrugs, he turns and I see his face, it looks remorseful, he looks to be in pain, something occurs to me.

“You didn’t know, did you?” I ask softly, he looks to me.

“Sophia, always the one to ask the questions before condemning.” He smiles at me. “No, I didn’t know, he never brought her round when I was there; I would never have done it if I knew.”

Scott looks at him, “What do you mean you never knew?” Luke stands up.

“Look Scott, Alex and I had been together for nearly a year, when you walked in on us, I never knew about you, just like you never knew about me.” I’m crying again, fucking hormones. Scott looks shaken.

“What? No, you’re just saying this to make me look bad.” Luke throws his phone at me.

“Look at the photos Soph, the dates are on them.”

I look through the photos, Nathan is looking too, there are dozens of photos with a woman, “Is this her? Is this Alex?” they both look at the photo; they both have the same pain in their eyes. There is something about this woman, she looks so familiar to me, I know I don’t know her though.

“Yes” they both reply.

I nod and continue looking; I come to the first photo and check the date,

“It says the photo was taken in November 2013.”

Scott looks to Luke, “I’m so sorry man, I never knew.”

Luke gets up and hugs him. “It’s okay; we were both taken in by her. It’s not your fault.” Scott nods.

“She looks very young.” I say, I can’t take my eyes off her. She looks so familiar.

“Yeah, she was eighteen when we started going out. I know, she is a lot younger than me. I couldn’t help it, Soph. There was something about her that I couldn’t keep away from. I know some may frown upon the fact that I’m nine years older than her.” Scott is nodding like he agrees.

“She tried telling me she was twenty-one, but I didn’t buy it. She is young but she acts a lot older, she reminded me a lot of you in that sense. How much your birth mother affected you, it made you grow up a lot faster than you should have. Alex has the same thing about her, although she never talked about her past.” He looks so torn. I don’t know how to help my brothers. They have been hurt in a way I never want to experience.

“There is one thing I don’t understand, you two live together. After all you thought Scott, why were you living together?” He sighs, then looks to Luke. It’s Luke that speaks up.

“We didn’t want everyone dragged into this, we hardly see each other, neither of us are ever home, when we are, it’s just to sleep. Sometimes we don’t even stay there. The main reason I have ignored him and haven’t resolved this is because I loved Alex, I honestly thought she was my one. Having Scott walk in and tell me he was seeing her as well, it fucking broke me. I couldn’t look at him. I was devastated. I’m finally able to see that it wasn’t his fault and wasn’t mine. I’m sorry for blowing you off for so long, it shouldn’t have gone on that long.” I watch as Scott walks over to Luke and they hug. I wait until they break apart to ask what’s been on my mind.
