“Mmm. But fucking is so delicious,” she purred. She rammed into him and they slammed into the wall. Her teeth flashed in a feral smile and her blonde hair flew around her head. Eyes glittering she leaned in, nose to nose with him and growled. “It’s nothing but a fuck. It doesn’t mean anything. It never means anything. You made it matter.”

“I did,” he sucked in a breath and shuddered to taste her arousal thick in the air. He licked his lips and thrust his hips against her, rubbing his hard cock against her leg.

“You lied to me.” She bit him, hard. Teeth sliced thorough the shoulder of his suit and sinking into him.

Gulping, he stuttered, his breath coming in ragged surges. “I didn’t lie.”

Saliva flooded his mouth and he spoke around the flaring pain and the mounting lust. “I did speak with your brother. He agreed with this course of action.”

Her mouth ripped away and she grunted. “Only that you could ask.”

“I asked. After I branded you.” He had. But he’d backed her into a corner. He knew it.

Ona made a scoffing noise and shoved at his chest, thumping him against the wall again.

“I will have to gut you. After I show you, again, that fucking doesn’t matter.” She panted and licked his neck. “It’s so damned hot.”

She shivered and one of her legs wrapped his, jerking him closer.

“Good,” he purred. “Let me make you hotter.”

Her hands forced between their two bodies and she quickly worked his belt, like she knew her way around a man’s body, but he didn’t want to think of that as she slipped his pants open and ran a hand down his hard dick.

“If you’re going to mate with a wolf, you have to do it right.” She arched her back, pushing him back a step, threw her arms around his neck and lifted, climbing his body. He shoved her back against the wall, and gripped her ass. With a gruff moan, she canted her hips. Liquid warmth swallowed his cock as she sank down on him. Her feet hooked behind his hips and he had no choice but to plunge inside her.

“This is how a wolf mates?” He panted and glanced between their bodies, dimly registering that she wore his suit jacket from before. It smelled of her, of dirt and forest. But he didn’t care anymore once he saw his cock moving back and forth inside her pussy. His legs went weak. He panted. “Standing up?”

“No. Like this.” She gripped his hair and yanked his head to expose his throat. Her teeth clamped down at the juncture of neck and shoulder. She growled and bared down, breaking his skin, her canines sinking in.

They fell to the floor, but he kept his grip on her, her hips pressed against him, his cock buried. She sank her teeth further into him. He rolled her, the feel of her teeth making him harder, until he had her beneath him taking his renewed thrusts. Strength surged through him. Growls and boiling fog filled the room.

She ran a hand down his back, her fingernails digging deep. He hissed, baring his teeth but he didn’t mark her. Steam released from the gashes and he roared, excited beyond belief. It was messy. The sounds of their bodies slapping and their grunts were like animals.

“This is. It’s—” He gulped and pushed his mouth against her shoulder. He spoke against her skin. “I’m gonna come.”

He thrust hard, deep, erratically. Her legs clenched around his hips and she mewled, never letting go of the bite she’d made on his shoulder. The pain radiated down his back and balled in his lower spine. He forced his cock hard into her and went rigid.

“Ona,” he shouted and came. His butt flexed as he bucked against her.

“Mmm.” She gripped him, her thighs squeezing as she shuddered, coming apart beneath him.

She released her bite and the rush of sensation overwhelmed him. Pain, pleasure, the scent of Ona, the soft purr of her contented smile as she lay back on the floor. Her soft body still molded to his and he continued the long climax that was sweet and filled with languorous heat. He fell to her side, keeping himself nestled inside her as he hugged her to him.

She licked her lips and grinned like the cat who’d not just gotten the cream, but bought the dairy.

“There. We’re even.” She stared at the bite mark on his shoulder.

“It’ll heal,” he couldn’t help but point out in a rusty voice that sounded misused and unfamiliar.

“Sure, but I’ll know it’s there.”

“Why did you come back?” He’d thought the brand would work on her as it would a human, binding them together. He couldn’t leave her, and she wouldn’t want to leave him. Now, he certainly wanted her, but she could run again. Nothing kept her to him.

He frowned and rolled away. His still hard and pulsing cock pulled from her slick warmth. Nothing was going as it should, and his ordered life seemed to be coming apart. If she didn’t stay, he had no direction, no idea of how to approach his plans to find a way to end the quickly forming demon cartels, and nothing to come home to. No welcoming wife in his bed. Ever.

She wasn’t what he’d have pictured for his wife. Brash. A bit like a biker chick. Not a society girl at all.

“Damn, but you have a nice cock.” She stared at the appendage that ached to be back inside her.

Heat flared over his cheeks and the steam in the room billowed around him. He sat up, his back to her. “We have to go. I’m expected…”

“That’s why I came back. I don’t think my brother planned for you to kidnap me and then force me to mate you.”

“I…”

“Shut up.” She moved behind him but he didn’t face her as he got to his feet and closed his pants.

“I’ll let you talk to me that way, just this once because I did force your decision, but not the sex. I did not force that. In the future…”

“If we have a future. I’m not so sure about that. Just listen. I won’t tell my brother how you broke his trust, because when the time came, instead of walking, I got up on that toy of yours and took it for a spin.”

“That’s a lovely way to put it.” Hands on hips, he turned and stared at her flushed face. She wore his suit jacket, and her legs were spread in a fighter’s stance as if she were ready to fight him in the ring. He’d made a mistake binding himself to her. They’d never have an easy life together.

“I came back because my brother’s reason for allying with you is apparently of world-saving importance and all that.”

“Shreeva VanDross has the influence of an ancient and powerful father, the money of one of the wealthiest men in the world, the thugs he’s collected in his corporate restructuring empire, and the magical charisma to charm everyone within hearing range of her voice. She’s brought in demons around the world into a cartel ready to move.”

“And you’re going to her little cocktail weenie hour?”

Unable to deny her irreverent humor, he chuckled and moved closer to her. She didn’t move back. Already in a day, she’d lost her suspicion of him as a nephilim. Perhaps the brand had some influence after all. Over the past day waiting on her to return, he’d started to doubt the magic of his brand.

“I have to go. My family is too known to disappear. My father too immersed in trying to mitigate as much as possible the damage my sisters have done.”

“You have sisters?” Her brows raised and her body tilted toward him in attention. It was all he could do not to salivate on her almost entirely exposed chest.

“They’re not like me. They don’t live at home.” He didn’t want to think about how they’d all taken after their mother, a demoness that spent years kidnapping their father every time she wanted to breed him. He shuddered and his half-hard cock lost interest in further play. “Come. I’ll fill you in on the plan on the way.”

“I can’t go like this.” She waved to indicate her barely clad perfection. His jacket came to the top of her thighs. It gaped over her chest, and the bottom played peek-a-boo when she moved, showing flashes of the blonde hair covering her mound.

“Of course not. I have a dress for you packed in the car.”

“No. I meant I can’t ride in your car all the way to Florida. But why in the hell do you have a dress for me?”

“Just in case you weren’t prepared for a formal, I asked your brother your size.”

“And he knew?” Her eyebrows rose and her mouth remained partially open.

“No, but your sister-in-law figured it out, somehow. I don’t know these things.”

“Right. Well, I’ll meet you at your house. What’s the address?”

“Just get in the car, Ona. I know most of your kind can’t, but you don’t have the petrol allergy.”

“Tiago.” She shoved his shoulder and he took a step back from where he’d apparently moved forward enough to press against her. “I haven’t decided what I’m going to do about you. Don’t push your luck. All I know is, I’m going to some fancy party so I can kick some demon bitch ass—because my nosy brother has decided you’re part of his PACk now and I’m the protection for the evening. Anything more will have to wait.”

“Fine.” For now, he could give her space and now she’d agreed to help bring down Shreeva, he needed to think of what to do about Ona—whether to let her go after tonight. He’d lived without sex for twenty-five years and could do it for a few hundred more. He groaned. “Meet me there by six.”

He gave her his address.

She kicked down the door again on her way out.

Standing there, staring at the door he’d had repaired once already, he smiled for a moment, then followed her out. She was already gone, but the sound of a motorcycle growling to life made his smile widen. She wouldn’t ride closed inside his car, too close to him, but she was a biker chick—whether he wanted one or not.

Maybe she’d come back for her bike and not to find him. His smile dropped.

After he took care of the bill he climbed into his car. He’d never driven so fast. The highway blurred by. His father had said there’d once been a speed-limit, but now that the area between Georgia and North Florida was a no-man’s-land, there was no reason to bother with speed limits. The only people on the highways were demons, and no matter the wreck, if they didn’t sever their heads clean off, they’d recover.

It only took a few hours before he pulled into the mansion he’d called home his entire life. The entire ride he’d been edgy and unable to keep his mind on the wheel. In relief to get away from himself, he jumped out of the car as soon as he slammed it into park. After retrieving his suitcase from the trunk, he entered the house through the kitchen and headed immediately toward the stairs.

“Slow down, Tiago.” His step-mother, Cin, looked up from some papers she held in her hand as she sat on the couch of the living area. Pausing with a longing glance at the stairs, he nodded at her familiar face. She clucked. “Haven’t seen you in days and you’re practically running up the stairs. What’s the rush?”

Cin was a Hellion Hunter. The best. The lackeys of the demons had been a nuisance before, but now that all the humans had fled Florida, the half-hound, half-man hybrids roamed in gangs looking for action. Usually by brawling with one another which had cut their numbers dramatically. Cin didn’t have as much reason to don her sword and go severing heads. She’d even mentioned retiring a few times, even though she didn’t look a day over thirty.

“There’s that party tonight.” Still standing in the middle of the great open space, he put the suitcase down.

“You mean, the engagement party where Van Dross will announce you’ll marry his daughter without asking you first? Or me, for that matter?” The deep voice of his father came from the patio where he sauntered in from outside. Vedo Montevedo liked to sit in the sun as much as possible. There were days he said he couldn’t seem to quite get warm enough, even in Florida. Since marrying Cin, he’d taken to wearing black sweaters and black leather. He said it kept him warm and kept his lady warmer—unashamed to show the heat the couple held for one another.

“We have to go to the party.”

“I thought we agreed.” Cin joined them and they all stood on the clay tiles of the large open room, soaking in the sun streaming from the patio doors. “We’ll leave Florida. Nothing is worth you going to a demon bitch you don’t want.”

She grabbed Vedo’s hand and stood close to him. Her red hair glinted in the light and even though she was tall, she didn’t come close to Vedo’s seven feet.

“Look at you two. You can’t live without the warm temperatures. Where would we go? Texas? They’d find us there. California? There’s a large cartel just waiting.”

“I have enough money. Thought we’d retire to Ecuador.” Vedo pulled Cin tight to him. “At least until the baby is born.”

“Baby?” Tiago blinked and words left him.

“Sure. Didn’t think your dad had it in him any longer?” Vedo grinned, looking young and healthy—nowhere near old enough to have fathered a dozen nephilim children.

“I know, we’d decided to wait until it got better.” Cin put a hand on Tiago’s arm. “But I guess your dad’s body decided it was time.”

The Montevedos controlled their fertility by some innate sense—a sense that had been thrown off when a demoness had gained control over Vedo for years, having Tiago and his sisters. Then his own mother had kidnapped Tiago when he was twelve. That’s when they’d met Cin, and that’s when the demoness had been killed. Rightly so. Now a new one had come to try to lead the hellions and the other demons ripe for more bedlam.

“You know I don’t want you to be a target of a demoness. I lived it. We can find a new life away from here.” Vedo rumbled in his soothing papa bear way.
