“So you really going through with this huh?” I asked.

“Yes because you are their father and you should help out too!  And what the fuck happened to your face?” she asked.

“I got in a fight with your girl Caramel and my boy!” I said.

“What?  Are you kidding me right now?” she asked.

“Does it look like I’m kidding?  Do you see my damn face?” I asked.

“Wow!  You and Shine been friends for so long though,” she said.

“No shit Sherlock!  Anyway what you gon do about this court date?” I asked.

“I’ll see you in court Ant!” she said as she walked away from me.

       “That’s it?” I asked.

“Yep, bye!” she yelled as she shut the door.

I shook my head because I could not believe this shit.  This had to be the worst day of my damn life.  Why the fuck was everybody coming for me?

I began the drive back to my house aggravated as hell that nothing seemed to be going my way.  I wanted to go back offshore but I had to go to court in two weeks so I couldn’t leave until after court otherwise they would issue a bench warrant for my ass.  So I guess I would have to chill until then.

When I got home Megan was putting our daughter to sleep so I went to the bathroom to take a shower.  I looked in the mirror and saw that I had a black eye and a cut on my face; that shit pissed me off all over again.  I couldn’t believe my main man had fought with me behind that bitch.  I would have never done that to him or thought that he would have ever done that to me, but this nigga had changed since that heifer moved in.  He wasn’t the same nigga I rolled with back then.  I didn’t even know that dude.

I showered and jumped in the bed trying to fall asleep before Megan brought her ass in here to ask me all those damn questions.  She was probably rocking Adrianna faster than she had ever rocked before just so she could be nosey in my fuckin’ business.

Just as I thought not long after I got in bed here she come with her nosey ass.

“What the hell happened to you today?” she asked.

“Look I had a long day and I don’t feel like talkin’ bout shit!” I said.

“You don’t have to catch an attitude with me!  I was just concerned about you!” she said.

“You were being nosey!” I said.

“No I wasn’t but if you wanna be like that, fine!” she said.

She got in bed on her side and turned her back to me.  Her ass accidentally brushed against mine and she woke my dick up.  I knew she wouldn’t wanna have sex after the way I had just spoken to her but I knew how to get her.  I waited until she was sleeping before I climbed between her legs and threw my dick inside her, jolting her awake.

Just as I thought she forgot all about being mad as I fucked the shit outta her.  She moaned and screamed as I fucked her harder, taking all my frustrations out on her pussy.  I kept this up for a good hour and finally bust ma nut.  Afterwards I climbed off her and turned my back to go to sleep.

CHAPTER TWENTY SEVEN- CARAMEL

My man was really hurt by the fight he and Ant had and I have to admit, I felt bad.  At first I thought it was all my fault for getting in his and Nae’s business, but the more I thought about it the more I realized it wasn’t my fault, it was Ant’s fault because he couldn’t grow the hell up.  He was twenty one years old and the father of three with two more on the way, that we knew of.  For all we knew he could have babies everywhere considering he was a dog.

As I tried to comfort him and make him feel better I could tell that he just wanted to be left alone.  I did just that; as much as I loved him I figured that he just needed a little space.  We were very close so I had no doubt that he would talk to me when he was ready.

By the time I put our daughter to bed and took a shower he was ready to talk.

“Bae you know I love you right?” he asked.

The first thing I thought was he was so mad he was gonna leave me.

“Yea I love you too,” I said.

“I’m not fixin’ to blame you for what went down today because it isn’t your fault.  I just wish that you would let Ant and Shaniqua handle their own business.  I know she’s your best friend and all but you don’t need to fight her battles for her.  Ant and I had been friends forever and now that friendship is over.  Please Bae just stay out their business next time,” he said.

“Babe I’m sorry that you guys fought today; that is the last thing I wanted to happen.  But he just really burned me up with his comments and shit!  Like why couldn’t he have been more like you?” I asked.

“I don’t know but that’s his business.  I know he’s childish but you can’t make him grow up if he’s not ready. He has to wanna change on his own.  Shaniqua knew what kind of nigga he was and she still got pregnant again.  All I’m saying is it’s their business and we should stay out of it,” he said looking sad.

“Okay, I will let them be.  Are you going to try and make up with him?” I asked.

“Naw!  Maybe it’s just time for us to go our separate ways.  Ant is on another level lately and I’m just not gonna engage in his bullshit anymore,” he said.

I moved closer to him and straddled him, “I love you.”

“I love you,” he said as we began tongue wrestling.  It wasn’t long before we were making love and I was screaming his name as he hit that spot.  When we were finished our lovemaking session we spooned until we fell asleep.

CHAPTER TWENTY EIGHT- SHANIQUA

Finally our day in court had arrived and I couldn’t wait to see how much the judge would order Ant to pay me.  Right now I was five months pregnant and I was already feeling really uncomfortable.  This pregnancy was totally different from when I was pregnant with A.J.  I woke up bright and early because I had to be there by nine o’clock in the morning.  I brushed my teeth, jumped in the shower and got dressed, then I got A.J. ready.  I was now driving but my mom wanted to be there for me to give me moral support and as much as I appreciated it, I think she just wanted to be nosey and see how much money I was granted.

We arrived at the courthouse at 8:45 and found a seat.  I looked around and didn’t see Ant but I wasn’t worried because as long as he got the subpoena he had to be here otherwise they would issue a bench warrant for his arrest.  At 8:57 he finally walked in and took a seat in the back of the courtroom.  When we were called up to the desk to check-in we both went up and let them know that we were here.  A.J. was asleep in my arms as I rocked from side to side.

They asked that we have a seat and told us we would be called again to meet with the judge in the conference room.  We sat and waited for another two hours before they called us to the conference room.  I was about to hand A.J. to my mom when she said, “No bring him in there with you in case this muthafucka tries to use a DNA test as a stalling tactic!  Let them white people see that your baby looks just like his daddy!”

I picked up A.J. and walked in the room with Ant behind me.  We took a seat across from four people; a stenographer, the district attorney, the judge and the DA’s secretary.  As they looked over the paperwork the DA asked, “Did you bring your check stubs Mr. Williams?”

“Yes Sir,” he said as he handed the secretary the check stubs.

“We are here today because Miss Castle is filing for child support from you because she says you’re the father of her son.  Today we are going to set a monthly amount of child support for you to pay Miss Castle.  You have a financial obligation to take care of your son,” the judge said.

“But what if I don’t think he’s mine?” Ant asked.

“So you’re saying that this child isn’t yours?” the DA asked.

“I’m saying that I don’t know.  I want a DNA test!” Ant said.

“Your Honor may I say something?” I asked.

“Yes Miss Castle,” the judge said.

“I have not slept with any other men in two years.  Mr. Williams and I have been seeing each other for over a year and after I had my son, he came by to spend time with us.  May I show you the picture?” I asked looking through my phone for the pic of Ant and A.J.

I handed the phone to the district attorney and once he finished looking at it, he passed it to the judge.  As the judge looked at the pic he asked, “Is this you Mr. Williams?”

“Yes Sir,” Ant said as he looked at the picture I had taken of the two of them that day he came by.

“If you believe this little boy isn’t yours Sir, why would you go to visit and spend time with him?” the district attorney asked.

“I wanted to see if he resembled me,” Ant said.

“And does he?” the judge asked.

Ant looked at A.J. who looked exactly like him and said, “Yes Sir.”

“I think so too Mr. Williams.  Now if you really need a DNA test to prove that to you then we will be happy to arrange that.  On the other hand if this is some kind of stalling tactic to keep from paying child support, well let’s just say I may give Miss Castle thirty percent of your wages instead of twenty five,” the judge said.

I looked at Ant and I knew that he was shocked to hear the judge say that, judging by the look on his face and the twitch in his jawbone I would have to say that he was pissed too.  I knew the only reason he was requesting a DNA test was so that he could try and talk me out of this but thank God the judge saw right through his little charade.

“Now I am going to ask you once more and you can either be straight with me or you can choose to look me in the eyes and lie to me.  Is this little boy your son?” the judge asked.

Ant took a deep breath before he answered, “Yes Sir.”

The judge and the district attorney then went over his check stubs to get an accurate figure of how much he made.  Then they brought out the calculator and began figuring out how much Ant would have to pay me a month or at least that was my take on things from where I sat.  I could feel Ant’s eyes on me so I averted mine to look right at him and sure enough he was staring at me while shaking his head.
What the hell was he shaking his damn head for?
I thought.  He made enough money to help me support A.J. and still keep house with his other chick.  I couldn’t believe he was staring at me like I had done him something.

“Okay Mr. Williams, Miss Castle, judging from the check stubs submitted to us you make approximately $3,600 a month.  So the amount that you will be paying to Miss Castle on a monthly basis beginning next month is $736.  This amount can change if your income changes and you begin to earn more or less, whatever your situation may be.  This amount is to be garnished from your wages by the state beginning next month and will continue until your son is eighteen years old.  If your job status or rate of pay changes you may request a modification decrease by calling the office on the number listed below.  You will be asked to provide check stubs to that effect and the modification will be made.  Does anyone have any questions?” the judge asked.

“I just wanna say thank you Your Honor; thank you so much!” I said.

“You’re welcome Miss Castle.  You have a beautiful baby Mr. Williams, you should spend some time with your son; time waits for no one and before you know it he will be going to school, then graduating, then off to college!” the judge said.
