Her nipples had tingled ever since she’d seen Logan Hendricks. She knew that, despite her inability to make a decision and stick with it, she would welcome the man into her home tonight, and she would drop down to her knees and take him in her mouth.

But it had to end there, didn’t it? One blowjob, and that was all he got. Of course, if that was all she gave him, they would both be denied, and that idea was depressing.

Best to play it by ear instead of making a decision before he even got to the house she decided as she waited for him. It was chilly outside, so she built a fire, trying not to laugh about Logan bringing up the incident from when she’d first moved here. She was no longer a city girl and could do things on her own, such as setting a fire in the hearth.

It had just started to crackle happily when she heard a vehicle pull up outside the house. It wasn’t a sound she heard often, since she lived so far out of the way. She listened to the truck door slam as she wondered if she’d selected the right clothes.

Evelyn had stuck with jeans and a sweater because she didn’t want Logan thinking she’d dressed up for him. Now she wondered if she should have worn something a little more seductive.

There was no time to change, though, since he was already knocking. She crossed the room slowly, working hard not to jerk the door open and scream,
Get in here; take it out.

“Lieutenant,” she said as he came inside.

“Inky.” He looked her up and down. “I always liked you in that combination. Can’t wait to see what you look like when you’re out of it.”

Her heartbeat raced up a few notches.

“Can I get you something to drink?”

He gave her a seductive grin, one that told her he knew she wanted his dick, that she wasn’t going to put up a fuss. “Sure, how about a beer.”

“Have a seat on the couch,” she said over her shoulder as she started for the kitchen. When she returned, he was seated, staring into the fire. She sat down next to him, letting their knees touch.

“Horny, Inky?”

“Yes.” She shrugged. “If you’re looking for a sweet little submissive who lowers her eyes and denies what she wants, I’m not it.”

“Good,” he said as he eyed her cleavage. “I wish I’d known that sooner. You and I could have been fucking for years.”

“No.” She moved away slightly. “I wasn’t ready for men for a while. I thought you all were…assholes.”

“Carl.” He practically spat the word out. “What a prick.”

“Yes.” She put her hand on his knee, determined to change the subject. “Would you like that blowjob now?”

“You might not be a simpering submissive, Inky, but you don’t have the right to dictate what happens when. You’ll suck me when I say.”

Evelyn lowered her gaze to the ground. “Sorry.”

“I’ve been thinking about you a lot,” he said. “Something tells me one blowjob is not going to cut it with us.”

“I’m not a very good submissive,” she said. “Carl said that was my problem, I spoke my mind too much, and I didn’t defer to him in everything.”

There was a pregnant pause before Logan said, “It sounds to me as if you need some discipline. There will be two sides to our relationship, Evelyn, the public side, where you get to be you, and I get to be me. And the private side, where I get to be me, and you get to be mine.”

“Your slave,” she said.

“My submissive,” he countered. “I want a woman who gives herself to me willingly, not because she feels like she has to. I want your trust, to guide you in all things that will bring the both of us the ultimate pleasure.”

His words gave her hope, but she didn’t say anything. She’d been given hope before and had it dashed against the rocks.

“He really did a number on you, didn’t he?”

“You have no idea,” Evelyn answered. Nobody knew the entire truth, except for Suzanne—the one who had held her while she’d cried and taken her calls in the middle of the night when she’d been unable to sleep.

“We’ll leave this discussion for later, after we’ve built up some trust in the Dom/sub department. Right now you will refer to me as Sir Logan. I haven’t decided what to name you, yet. Give me a while, and I’ll come up with something that fits. Until then, you know what I’m going to call you.”

She pursed her lips at him, but before she could object, he said, “Show me your fucking machine, Inky.”

Her eyebrows shot up. “I thought you wanted a blowjob.”

“Are you going to argue during our first time together?”

“But Saturday night, I offered—” She closed her mouth at the thunderous look Logan gave her.

“You’re starting off on a bad foot, Inky. What. Did. I. Say?”

“The machine.” She stood. “It’s in the basement. The door is in the kitchen.”

“Lead the way.”

As she followed his instructions, Evelyn thought about how exciting it was to not know exactly what was happening. She was very nervous about it, but she reminded herself that Logan was a well-respected member of their community that she’d known for close to three years now.

Tonight, after he left, she would call Sabrina and check on the Dom, make sure her friend thought he was a good one. All three of her good friends had tried to warn her away from Carl. This time she would listen to what they had to say.

Evelyn flipped the switch at the top of the stairs, and the lights illuminated the steep descent.

“This is an interesting house,” he said as they headed down the stairs, which hugged the wall and then turned to the left. They ended in the vast, almost empty space under her living room and kitchen.

“It’s one of the reasons I bought it,” she replied. “Well, that and the lack of neighbors. I wanted to be alone for a while.”

“You are that.” He stepped inside the space. “For a dungeon, this is sorely lacking, Inky. Where’s the rope?”

“Rope?”

“To tie you up.”

“No rope.”

“Clamps?”

“No clamps.”

“Spreader bar?”

“No bar.”

“Suspension set to hang you from the ceiling?”

“No.”

He frowned at her as he pointed to the only furniture in the room—a sofa and mechanical machine that she used from time to time to fill her pussy.

“That’s it?”

Logan’s disappointment seemed to shoot through her.

“Yes,” she said. “I’m sorry that this isn’t a dungeon. I never intended for anyone else to see it. I only use it to—”

“Fuck yourself, I get it.” He crossed to the machine. She watched as he bent to examine the steel base and the arm. “You can double penetrate yourself with this?”

“Yes,” she said, sheepishly, thinking of the pleasure that shot through her as one dildo filled her pussy while another invaded her ass.

“Do you?” He was looking at her now.

“Sometimes.”

“Can’t wait to see that.” He was examining the device again. “Wonder how hard it will be for me to fuck your ass while the machine is doing your front.”

Evelyn shivered. She hadn’t had a real dick in her in years.

“We’ll figure it out,” he said as he stood. “We need to make a list.”

“A list?”

“For the dungeon. We can’t play down here with no toys.”

“Um, I wasn’t planning on building a dungeon.”

“Time for the unexpected, Inky. I’m going to have to think things through, to decide how best to utilize the space and get us things we can enjoy.”

She felt as if he’d hit her with a ton of bricks. “We’re taking things a little fast, aren’t we?”

He crossed the floor to an open doorway that led to a half-finished bathroom. He disappeared inside, and his voice boomed out. “We can always play at my house. I have toys there, but people may hear you scream, and that could cause some problems.”

“Scream?”

“Inky, I know a thousand and one ways to make you climax.”

Evelyn wasn’t quite sure what to say. Finally, she cleared her throat. “One thousand and one? How’d you come up with that number? Have you actually counted the number of ways you’ve produced an orgasm?”

“One thousand and one…and counting.”

Evelyn couldn’t help but laugh. “You have a big ego. Women can have an orgasm two ways: clitoral or G-spot. That’s it.”

“Are you arguing with me?” His voice, echoing out of the bathroom, sent chills up her spine.

“I’m a journalist, remember? I question things.”

This time he was back in the doorway. “Not down here you don’t.” His eyes seemed darker, and he felt…dangerous. “Those weren’t questions. They were statements of fact used in an argument.”

“I’m sorry, Sir Logan.” Evelyn lowered her head. “It’s been so long.”

“I’ll give you a few days, but nothing more.” He pointed his thumb into the room behind him. “Why is the bathroom not finished?”

Evelyn shrugged. “Most of it is done, but Newbury got a little pissed at me for running the story about his brother getting arrested for driving under the influence for the fourth time. He started to stall, and when I realized he was overcharging me and not working, I kicked him off the job. I haven’t had a chance to call Sparky to take over.”

He didn’t respond, but she could tell by the way he turned and examined the unfinished project that he was thinking something.

“You’re a carpenter too?” she asked, hopefully.

“Nope.” He didn’t even look embarrassed about it as he turned back to her. “Building things has never been my strong point. But I have lots of other skills.”

“Like making women come.” Evelyn put her hand over her mouth. “Sorry.”

“Like I said, I’m willing to look the other way—for a little while.”

He moved toward her. Evelyn’s body responded as it hadn’t in quite some time—wetness formed between her legs, and her nipples hardened.

“Time for you to suck me off,” he said as he hooked his finger in the top of her sweater and pulled her close. “Get down on your knees, Inky, and follow me.”

She thought he’d go to the couch. After all, it was right there. Instead he headed back to the stairs. She watched him walk away, and she wondered exactly how this had come to pass. Four days ago he was just a cop on the police force. Today she was about to crawl after him, ready to take his prick into her mouth.

Despite her hesitation earlier in the day, she was damn ready to suck him. Evelyn dropped to her knees and followed him. He went up the stairs. Navigating the stairs wasn’t easy, but she made it to the top to find him in the kitchen, his hip propped against the bar.

“Took you long enough.”

“Sorry.”

He cocked an eyebrow at her. “Sorry, Sir Logan,” she corrected herself.

“Let’s go.” Once again he surprised her as he started off. Instead of going to the living room, where the fire was waiting to be enjoyed, he turned toward the short six steps that led to the top part of her house, which contained her bedroom and the master bath.

“I always wondered what the view was like from up here,” he said as he went to the full-length windows that faced the mountains. “I can’t wait to see it during the daylight.”

“It’s beautiful,” she confirmed. She watched him slide open the door and step onto the deck. Surely he wouldn’t want her to give him head outside. It was a little chilly for that.

Evelyn stayed where she was, and he didn’t order her to follow him. It was like he was taking a tour to see what was where. She wondered if he expected her to install equipment in other parts of the house other than the basement.

Not the basement, she said to herself. If he got his way, the basement, which she’d once thought about making into a bedroom, would become a dungeon, something she’d never expected to have in her home.

And one thing they needed to talk about was the purchase of said toys. When she’d bought the fucking machine, she’d done so in Denver. She’d had it delivered to Suzanne’s house, and from there, she’d had two friends of Suzanne’s deliver it to her house in Clearwater. She’d had a hell of time setting it up on her own, but it had been worth the sweat. Delivery drivers wouldn’t come to her out of the way cabin. They brought things to the newspaper, and everyone had to check out the package, to see where it was from.

That thought took hold of her and settled in her stomach, causing an uneasy feeling of anticipation, and not the good kind, to surge through her body. There was no way they could build a dungeon in her basement without someone finding out about it.

He wasn’t out on the deck long, and when he shut the door, he put his hands on his hips.

“This is a great place.”

“Thank you.” She sat back on her knees. There was no time like the present to bring up the concerns she had. “If I may—”

“You may not.” He walked past her. “Let’s go back to the living room where it’s warm.”

This time, she had to navigate down the stairs on her hands and knees. They weren’t as steep as the basement steps, but it wasn’t easy. When they were in the living room, she bit back the urge to ask him if he wanted to see the rest of the house.

He sat down in the middle of the couch. “Fetch a pen and a pad of paper. I would think a writer would have one nearby.”

Evelyn went to the rolltop desk where she kept her important papers and found what he wanted. She clasped one item in each hand and then had to crawl on her knuckles.

When she was in front of him, Evelyn offered them to him.

“Take a memo, Inky.”

“And what will this memo be about, Sir Logan?”

“I told you we needed a list for the dungeon. The first thing we need is a new bathroom.”

“There’s a bathroom down there,” she objected.

“There’s a toilet and a tub. I want it finished. We’ll start our dungeon building on December first, which gives Sparky’s Plumbing two weeks to finish. Tell them it’s for me. They’ll get on the stick, and they’ll work us in around the people who have busted pipes because of the cold.”

“Oh no.” Evelyn put the pad down. “I tell them you want to finish the bathroom in my basement, and they’re going to know that”—she was a journalist who couldn’t come up with the right words—“that something’s going on between us.”

Logan shook his head slowly. She could see that he was disappointed in her. “Everyone’s going to know anyway, Inky. There’s no way around it. It’s best to be open about it.”
