As if it were a physical caress, she felt his gaze touch her and she looked up. Epona’s morning light haloed the winged shape of Lochlan standing on the balcony of the Chieftain’s Tower. She could not read his face, but as she watched, she saw him touch the place over his heart, then his lips, and then he held his hand out to her.

and Clan MacCallan. They would have to face a land filled with people who mistrusted and judged them harshly.
