“Shhhh
...” I placed a finger to his lips. “I'll stop apologising.” I saw him smiling. “If you don't apologise.”

I left him to ponder this for a moment, and then he sighed and nodded.

The summer holiday seemed to fly by. I'd finally gotten around to telling Kasey-Ray about my gift, with Sean as back up, in case I did something stupid.

At first she was angry about being kept in the dark, and then her anger had turned to frustration, as she wondered what her gift would be. Then the frustration gave through to excitement. She was convinced that she had a gift. She spent the rest of the holiday in the garden, trying to get angry, in a hope it would show her gift.

She looked like a raving lunatic. We spent a lot of the time in the garden, laughing at her, mainly because she looked absolutely ridiculous and also in the hope it would make her angry and she would hopefully find her gift, if she had one, and stop acting like a mad woman.

She never did get angry though. She ended up sitting on the floor, laughing at herself.

Sean and I were rarely apart, except when he was at work and most nights. Some weekends my family and I would go to the cottage with Sean, sometimes the rest of them would come over.

But before we knew it, the holiday
's were over and it was time to go back to school.

Sean drove Kasey-
Ray and I, and as soon as we pulled into the car park, Kasey-Ray quickly jumped out.

I was nervous as we sat there looking out of the window, Sean
's hand stoking my leg.

I sighed as I pulled down the sun
-visor to look in the mirror. I smiled as I looked at my birthmark, which was pretty much gone. I leaned over to kiss Sean.

“I
'll see you at lunch.” He told me again. We had decided to have a picnic at the place we had first met. “I love you.” He purred as he gave me another kiss.

“I love you too
.”

Taking a deep breath, I opened the passenger door and stepped out to take my first day of my last year of high school.

With a huge smile on my face and a bounce in my step, I made my way to the school's main door, ignoring everyone's stares.

I knew now that they weren
't staring at me because they were repulsed, and whatever their thoughts were now, I didn't care. To me, I was the happiest person on this planet and in love with the most wonderful and most beautiful man alive, and nothing could make me feel any different.

Could it?

About Author

I originally grew up in Winsford, Cheshire and moved to Edinburgh in 2000.
I am now married with 2 daughters and live just outside of Edinburgh.
Writing has always been something that I have loved and I have been writing since an early age.
It wasn’t until 2010 when the idea came to me to write Erin the fire goddess. It is a series of books and all books are available in both ebook and paperback version.
I decided to use the name of the main character and her sister as my two daughters, who inspire me to write every day.
