Caedon withdrew his fingers and Eloise saw the cream from her core run down them as he sucked them into his mouth. Eloise wanted to cry out when he again pumped his fingers in and out of her core. She gasped when he stroked her clit with his thumb. Then he circled it, rubbed vigorously back and forth and caused her to squirm under his hold. Goddess, she didn’t know if she could last and she whimpered out a plea.

“Ssh,” Caedon assured her, “Come for me, baby. Don’t hold back this time.”

Her eyes sprung open only to see the grin on Caedon’s face as he too understood the irony of his words. He pressed into her one more time and rubbed his thumb across her clit. Eloise let go and screamed out her orgasm. In that one moment, she didn’t care who saw or who heard. Eloise was exactly where she wanted to be. Her eyes rolled back in her head as she rested it back on the stone ledge. Caedon stroked her stomach, her calves, and moved back to her core gently at first as Eloise’s breathing returned to normal.

“Not done yet.” At Caedon’s words, Eloise lifted her head to look at him. His soft brown eyes were now dark and intense. She could feel his gaze on her and felt the fire in the lowest part of her belly begin to rise again.

Caedon picked her up and walked easily with her in his arms to the cushioned bench in the far corner. He sat and moved Eloise on top of him so she straddled his hips. They sat this way, core to core, for a long time simply looking at one another until Caedon spoke, “My mate, I give you everything I am. I promise to never hold anything from you.
Ti voglio molto bene
.”

“Oh, Caedon,” Eloise spoke through tears, “I love you so much
,
too. I have waited a lifetime for a hero and you couldn’t be more perfect to me.”

Kissing her tears from her face, Caedon
lifted her
slightly and brought her back down onto his cock. “I want us to drink from one another like this.
Ho bisogno di te
.”

Eloise was ever grateful she’d learned Italian from her mother. Knowing he confessed his need for her in his native language touched something so deep within her, her powers came to life. Sparkles of color burst around them as Eloise moved up and down on his lap. She was ready to explode from the sensations. Her hands reached up to hold onto his shoulders as he brought his lips down, first to suck on one nipple and then the other. He drew the pebbled tip into his mouth. With each sucking motion, Eloise
’s
stomach tightened and the fire burning inside her grew.

She cried out and her flesh quivered with her arousal. She felt desperate for him again, as if she hadn’t fed for him just that morning before they had left for their shopping trip. And when he tilted his head to the side, she immediately latched on. With a few attempts to break his skin, Eloise finally found her prize. Caedon’s blood slid between her lips and down her dry throat. It was ambrosia. It tasted of chocolate and wine and all of her favorite things. Goddess, she needed this connection to her mate. Eloise could hear his thoughts. She knew the exact moment he decided where to bite but the alert did nothing to dim the initial shock.

Caedon’s teeth sunk into her flesh and drew out her blood. His wavy brown hair, cut in a wispy style that hung around his neck tickled her skin where it dusted her. His eyes were molted into a darker shade of brown with an iridescent glow as they met hers with a hunger that would’ve scared Eloise had she not already known this man so well. She might’ve been frightened by the fervor in which he drank if she hadn’t been so familiar with his life’s story. The erotic sensation of flow

one from the other

was nearly stronger than any orgasm she’d ever had. Never before had they drank like this simultaneously and in such sync. Caedon filled her in two ways while she drew from him as well.

They each slowed their drinking and lapped hungrily at one another’s necks while Caedon placed his hands below her arms and used his strength to bring her up and down his cock. He paused and looked down to where their bodies joined. Then Caedon pushed in slowly, inch by inch, and she could feel him stretching her. They fit perfectly. His cock was thick and her inner
muscles fought to make room for the intrusion. She felt so full with Caedon. It mirrored the fullness in her heart.

“Baby,” Caedon grimaced in warning. His teeth were clenched. Eloise raised her head from his neck to bat her eyelashes and grin before she shifted to take him in deeper. She grabbed at his arms and rubbed along them to find something to hold onto.

“You are mine, baby,” he gasped as he closed his eyes. His voice was deep with desire and her nipples tightened more hearing his words. “You belong to me.” He grabbed onto her hips so she couldn’t move. Eloise was forced in place to take the pleasure Caedon gave.

“Please, Caedon, I’m going to c

m
e,”
Eloise cried out in a strained voice. She was silenced by his lips crushing down onto hers. He kissed her hard with clashing teeth and biting. A myriad of emotions came across their bond and overwhelmed her. Eloise moaned and twisted against him as he
thrust
in and out, never altering his rhythm.

“Come for me again, baby
,
” Caedon whispered. Those final words were her undoing
.
Caedon’s command
was
always enough to push her over the edge. Eloise came hard around his cock. Her pussy tightened,
and
her clit pounded in a steady, hard throb until she convulsed with a burning pleasure and fire bursts of color erupted around them. She felt Caedon explode
,
too
,
and her inner muscles milked his cock. Each shot of his release drew her higher and higher. It seemed to last forever as Eloise sat cradled in Caedon’s arms watching the sparkles of light and breathing in her mate.

“I’m so tired,” she sighed.

“You should be,” Caedon chuckled. “Let’s eat and enjoy the quiet of our evening. Then we’ll sleep, baby,” Caedon’s voice comforted her in this moment when she felt most vulnerable and exposed. She felt their connection completely for the first time and wished she could talk to Layla.

When the first light of morning rose in the sky, Caedon could feel Eloise’s alarm through their bond. Since he was no longer wrapped around her, she likely wondered where he
’d
got
ten
off to. Caedon called to her in his mind, “
I’m in the kitchen. The mission team arrived and the briefing is soon
.”

May I come?”

Of course, Eloise. Get dressed and come down
.”

“We have approximately thirty minutes before my mate gets down here,” Caedon told the men. “I want her filled in but not terrified. Are we clear?”

Nods of agreement stretched around the table. Caedon, Seamus and Donovan had been joined by Lucas, Gage and Granger. Having two weapons specialists on the mission spoke to the potential dangers.

“We have a concrete plan,” Lucas, the senior officer in the group spoke, “with the intel gathered yesterday, we know a lot about their behaviors. Most importantly, we know when they are at their weakest.”

Lucas looked over at Caedon, “First priority is getting your parents out alive but we have no idea what condition they’re in
,
so Donovan will be part of the extraction crew. If they need any medical attention, he can provide it.”

“And Caedon should stay close in case I need a blood transfer. It can only come from a blood relative,” Donovan interjected. Both Lucas and Caedon nodded.

“I want the bastard who took them. You said you thought you knew who it was and that he’s on site. I want first chance to take him out,” Caedon demanded. His voice was fierce until he heard the gentle gasp behind him. He closed his eyes and took a deep breath.

The men each acknowledged Eloise with nods or murmured good mornings while Caedon watched her cross the room to stand at his side.
Caedon was angry with himself when he saw that Eloise’s hands shook. He’d frightened her.

“Can I know the plan?” When no one responded to her request, she continued, “I know it includes me staying here out of harm’s way. I won’t argue that. I just want to know how you’ll go about the mission so I don’t worry as much.”

Lucas turned to Caedon to ascertain his permission
before sharing the mission plan with Eloise
. When Caedon nodded, Lucas
produced
a smile that didn’t reach his eyes and cleared his throat.

“Okay. Everyone grab a chair and pull it up around the table,” Lucas instructed.

Caedon reached for Eloise’s hand and sat her on his lap
,
so grateful she was here with him. Being away from her during this period of Acclimation would have been dangerous for both of them. As their bond grew, they had needed to be near one another, to drink from each other as often as possible. Last night, Caedon felt their blood levels were finally in harmony.

They spent the morning huddled in a circle as the men played out every possible contingency. To her credit, Eloise never complained or gave any indication of displeasure. She simply observed and he respected the hell out of her for that.

Saying goodbye to her that evening at sundown was painful. He felt through their bond how scared she was, not for herself but for him. And he couldn’t do anything to reassure her but to remind her that the Valendite Breeds were stronger than anything they would come up against. But there was the fear of the unknown. The variable was why his parents had never escaped themselves. Something was definitely unusual and they were likely to walk head first into a scenario they could
n’t even
imagine.

Eloise stood on the boat dock with Micalena and Seamus who was left behind to guard her. She blew
Caedon
a kiss and he smiled until he spun around and saw each of the other men grinning like fools and laughing.

“Just you wait,” Caedon warned, “When it happens, there’s not a single warning and it will knock you on your asses. And you can be damn sure I’ll be there to laugh at you.”

The boat ride to shore took nearly double the
usual
time as they approached into the old harbor of Salivoli. They made a slow approach, concerned for keeping the location of their
getaway secure. While Caedon pointed out key locations, the other men secured the boat and the team moved into the city from the northwest.

The building under which Caedon’s parents were being held was no different from all others on the street. There were no pedestrians except for a few staff closing up the small café along the southern end of the cobblestone street. Silently, the team moved into the alley that circled to the back of the building and entered, one by one, down into the muddy basement.

“On my count, team A follows left. Donovan leads team B,” Lucas whisper
ed
and count
ed
off on his hand, “One. Two. Three.” Each man d
id
exactly as instructed and move
d
as if synchronized.

Within seconds, Caedon found the steel door, gave three firm pounds against the metal in warning and set about applying the explosive. There was no time to waste if they hoped to make this a clean mission. They didn’t need any more suspicion falling on them. Madden’s directive given through Lucas was clear. They were to get in, recover
Caedon’s
parents and get out undetected.

He backed away from the doorway. The explosive was
developed
to disintegrate the metal and was muted by specially
designed putty
,
but the blast could still throw off some fierce heat. Donovan and Caedon ducked into another hallway and waited for the blast to clear.

Once they could see into the room, Caedon followed Donovan in. His knees failed him when he saw his parents collared and chained to the stone
wall.
Caedon rushed towards them but was afraid to touch them for fear of hurting their bruised limbs. His heart was in his throat when he asked,
“Mother, are you okay? Father, is it really you?”

“Caedon?” His mother called
out
to him in a broken voice. She appeared so fragile
, almost
as if she were a human. Her pallor was gray. The stench in the room seemed to emanate from their direction.
“After all these years, son, is it really you?”

“Yes Mother. It’s me. We’ve just now found you
.
We thought… we thought you were…” Caedon’s voice broke. He couldn’t speak the word he thought so instead he reassured his mother. “W
e’ve come to take you home.”

“No, son, you have to get out of here,” his father rushed to explain, “They gave up on trying to study us. They couldn’t break us no matter how weak we grew. This is their new plan now…” His father’s words were cut off by a blast from somewhere behind them.
