“Whatever you like, sir.”

Vivienne panted softly, her chest gently heaving. “That’s a good answer…a very good answer.” Jacob fingered her clit. “And what should we do about you being so wet?”

“Whatever pleases you, sir.”

“Spread your thighs wide, Vivienne.” His order was sharp, his voice deep. When she complied, Jacob slid her closer to the edge. With her legs spread, her knees wide apart, and her arms bound behind her, Vivienne was his to do with as he wished.

“I think I should fuck you, Vivienne. Don’t you agree?”

“Please, sir.”

Gripping her ass in one hand, Jacob pulled her forward as he slid the tip of his cock past her outer lips. When he felt her hot pussy, he pushed her toward him and plunged deep. Vivienne groaned, and Jacob gripped her butt to fuck her hard.

With each stroke, Vivienne’s breasts pressed to his chest, and her stiff nipples grazed his skin. Her pussy wrapped around him like a velvet glove, and her heat seared into him. “Should you be allowed to come?”

“Only if you wish it, sir.”

Vivienne’s answers were rewarding, and her behavior compliant. Jacob thrust his hips forward, pounding into her. His cock throbbed, and his balls ached. “You may climax when I do…you have my permission.”

His words relaxed her, and Vivienne folded against him. Her strong inner muscles tightened over his erection, driving him mad. Jacob moaned through his heavy panting, and his ass tightened, as his muscles turned to steel.

“Fuck…Vivienne.” With no desire to hold back, Jacob plummeted over the precipice, as his powerful orgasm took hold. He pulsed, releasing into Vivienne, then she shuddered as she was swept into her own orgasm. They cried out together in the ecstasy of the union.

When Vivienne collapsed with her head against his chest, Jacob undid the rope to release her arms. She kept them at her sides, unsure what she had permission to do. With two fingers, he lifted her chin. “Look at me.”

Vivienne looked at him. Her green eyes glistened, and her skin was flushed. “You’re beautiful,” he said. Jacob kissed her lips, and she kissed back, raking her tongue next to his. Her post-orgasmic scent was an aphrodisiac, and despite the strength of his orgasm, Jacob was aroused anew.

“You please me, very much.” Jacob saw the pride in her eyes. “You deserve a reward.”

Vivienne’s expression conveyed her desire. “Turn around and put your head down.” When she did so, her ass was offered up to Jacob. He put his palm on her silky skin. “There are spankings for punishment, Vivienne. But there also are spankings for your enjoyment.”

Jacob wrapped one arm around her waist to hold her in place. Her ankles were still bound, an indication of her submission. With a sharp flick of his wrist, Jacob spanked her butt. The sound of his hand on her skin was a turn-on.

He spanked her just hard enough, on the fleshy part of her butt. The blows were aimed to vibrate through her sex, giving her the pleasure he intended. The sting of his hand from spanking her made his cock harder. And when her butt got red, Jacob throbbed with excitement.

Holding Vivienne by the hips, Jacob pulled her closer to the end of the table, then plunged his thick erection into her sweet pussy. The sight of her red butt, the sting of his hand, edged him close to release rapidly. Vivienne panted and clawed at the leather, her hair draped over her shoulder, falling wildly around her.

She gripped tightly over him, and pulsed once, then again. “That spanking was for you. Come hard for me now.”

In that instant, Vivienne cried out, clenching around him like a vise. She throbbed repeatedly and whined in a shrill voice. Jacob’s cock swelled and then released, deep satisfaction washing through him. When Vivienne quieted, he leaned over and pressed his cheek against her lovely ass.

After a few moments, Jacob undid the rope to untie her ankles, then lifted Vivienne off the table. She leaned her head against his shoulder, limp in his arms. He left the playroom, and went to the master bedroom to place her against the pillows. Then he got in beside her.

Vivienne nuzzled into the crook of his arm, and Jacob held her securely. The playroom scene had been a heady experience. It was better than any drug. Jacob closed his eyes, letting the exhilaration flow through him.

Jacob was high from domination, and from the depth of Vivienne’s submission. Giving his heart to her had not detracted from play. On the contrary, her trust of him was greater, thus her submission that much more complete. The result was something Jacob hadn’t dreamed existed.

Sexual intimacy was intense, erotic, passionate, and loving. Not only could he connect in a physical way, but in an emotional, even spiritual way. It wasn’t domination without emotion, nor was it solely romance. It was the best of both worlds.

Jacob buried his face in Vivienne’s hair, breathing in her scent. “I love you.”

“I love
you
, Jacob…so very much.” Her reply soothed his soul.

Chapter 4

Vivienne was getting used to the idea that Jacob loved her. The weekend with him seemed like a wonderful dream, and the following week she was still walking on clouds. On her way to the shop, she enjoyed the sights.

It was December and cold, but that didn’t deter her from walking to Vee’s. She bundled up against the chill, and enjoyed a brisk stroll along the streets. The holiday season was reflected in the brightly decorated store windows, and strings of tiny white lights in the trees or as lattices to decorate the buildings.

The sidewalks were packed with shoppers, lending to the festive atmosphere. Vivienne had to make several purchases for her Christmas list, and later that week planned to shop with Lana. The eye-catching windows of Macy’s weren’t far from her apartment, and she’d lingered over the sparkle and glitter behind the glass.

Jacob had several outings planned, including visiting the Christmas tree at Rockefeller Center, followed by shopping. Saks Fifth Avenue was right across the street from the tree. Then there was ice skating in Central Park, sipping cocoa in the Village, and plenty of holiday shows.

The best part was that she could share it all with Jacob. His parents would be home on Christmas, so they’d make a family event of it. There was even a chance of snow. An icy wind hit her, and Vivienne pulled down her wool cap, then stuffed her gloved hands deeper into her pockets.

The weather and the city’s bustle were invigorating. It was loud and crowded; Vivienne loved it. As she turned a corner, she spotted a decorated tree in a courtyard and stopped to gaze at it. Breathing in the brisk air, she thought of Jacob.

Vivienne cherished his vow of love. The upcoming holidays, once a source of sadness when she thought she’d spend them alone, were now a solace. It cheered her to think of the joy of the season with Jacob by her side.

It was a magical season, and the change in Jacob seemed like magic. He had opened up to her and allowed love into his heart, making Vivienne very happy. Now that he had said he loved her, it seemed so natural, as if it had been that way all along.

Vivienne still couldn’t predict what would happen. Just because he’d made a confession of love didn’t mean his inner demons had vanished. It was likely that he’d continue to fight the darkness that seemed so much a part of him.

But it was different now. Jacob loved her, and they were together. Vivienne felt as though they could face whatever life handed them. Being in love wasn’t a weakness, it was a strength, as together they were stronger, united by a bond that no other could break.

When Vivienne arrived at the shop, she entered with a bounce in her step, and couldn’t wait to tell Michele about the new development in her relationship with Jacob. Her manager was pleased, and hugged her enthusiastically.

Since the management team ran operations, Vivienne was free to concentrate on creating fragrances. She was making a lot of progress, and new scents were releasing at regular intervals. Alfred was satisfied that she was providing what he needed online, and she was pleased with the new choices offered at the counter of Vee’s. Her own romance had inspired some alluring fragrances.

Later that week, Vivienne met Lana early in the morning for aerobics. It was an especially hard workout, and very rejuvenating. Afterwards, they went to breakfast at Norma’s in Le Parker Meridien Hotel.

They were splurging for the holidays. The morning menu included a variety of espresso drinks, and baked goods, fruit, or eggs. Vivienne had the granola parfait, Lana chose the pain au chocolat, and each had a caffe mocha.

“That’s why I like to come here,” Lana said. “It’s so posh.”

Vivienne looked around at the brocade cushions, heavy drapes, and marble tables. “It makes you feel like a queen or something.”

The coffees arrived quickly, and Vivienne took a sip. “Mmm, it’s hot.”

Lana blew on hers. “Caffé mocha is my favorite.”

Vivienne put her hot cup back on the saucer, and stirred it with the silver spoon to cool it down. “We have to do some serious Christmas shopping,” she said.

“For sure,” Lana said. “My list seems to get longer every year. And I have to figure out what to get for Trace.” She sipped her coffee. “And I wanted to tell you that I’ve decided to move in with him.”

“That’s great,” Vivienne said. “I know you were considering it. So it feels right?”

“I’m head over heels, Vivie. What else can I do?” Lana grinned. “You can’t fight love.”

“Why would you want to?” Vivienne leaned forward as if telling a secret. “You won’t believe it…Jacob told me that he’s in love with me.”

“Wow, Vivie, that’s big. I’m so happy for you.” Lana scooped some foam from the top of her drink. “When you texted that you made up, and you were back together, I figured something happened. But I didn’t expect that.”

Vivienne laughed. “I didn’t either. But it’s so wonderful. I can’t tell you.”

“Believe me, I know.” Lana swept her hair back over her shoulder. “So we both have the guy we want.”

“You could say that.” Vivienne wrinkled her brow. “I know Jacob loves me. We haven’t made plans beyond that.”

Lana grinned. “You will.”

Vivienne giggled. “Oh, you know everything, don’t you?”

“I try to.” Lana crinkled her nose. “And guess what else?”

“Something good?”

“Yes, something good.” Lana bounced in her chair. “I got the part. That audition I went on, the director called me back. I got the part, Vivie.”

“Oh. My. God.” Vivienne’s eyes widened. “You’ll be on Broadway.”

“Can you believe it?”

“I know you’ll be great.”

“Well, I’m not the lead, but hey, I’ll take it,” Lana said. “I’ll be part of a big production, and who knows what will happen from there?”

“Good things will happen for you. I just know it.”

The food arrived and they nibbled at the tasty delights. Vivienne thought about how much her life had changed. Not only had Jacob said he loved her, but she was at his place now more often than the apartment. He hadn’t asked her to move in, but she expected that he would soon. He no longer needed to keep his distance, and Vivienne was touched by the growing intimacy. Everything was working out for her, and for Lana, too.

*****

Jacob’s only regret about being in love was that he’d fought it for so long. It was like dating, kissing, and romance: he’d just needed to find the right woman. And Vivienne was the woman for him. It was amazing that he hadn’t seen it sooner.

Yet he remained haunted by issues from the past, and wasn’t entirely sure how to keep them at bay. Jacob knew that he was the only one who could shed the pall of his youth, but those inner demons weren’t easily wrested from his heart.

When he was very young, Sophia had said, “
All we can do is love you, Jacob, and have faith. I know there is something that you must do to break free from the influence of Carl’s oppression, and to be at peace with the memory of Flora’s death. But only you know what that is.

Even now, Jacob didn’t know what would relieve the burden of his guilt.

On top of everything else, Jacob couldn’t get Daniel Kenyon out of his mind. It was like a premonition of what was to come. He was certain that his enemy was a desperate man who would commit desperate acts to serve his own purposes.

What worried him more than the trouble the man could cause for Rinaldi Imports, or even for Jacob, was that the situation might affect Vivienne. Would he make her a target like Milo had, as a way to manipulate Jacob? It was likely, especially now that his affection for Vivienne would be easy for anyone to observe.

One morning on a jog before work, Jacob thought about Vivienne. She was moving some of her stuff to the penthouse, and he didn’t object. He wanted her with him, and missed her when they were apart.

Vivienne stayed overnight more often, rarely going back to her apartment. Now that Lana was going to move in with Trace, it made sense for him to ask Vivienne to move in. He made a mental note to do that soon.

*****

Jacob’s parents returned from Sardinia in time for Christmas. Although his brothers seemed to be scattered around the globe, Daniela joined them for the family festivities. The city was a winter wonderland that time of year, with lights everywhere.

Even as a New Yorker, he admitted that it was a pretty spectacular sight. Jacob had thoroughly enjoyed the holidays with Vivienne, including shopping, ice skating, and attending the New York City Ballet to see
The Nutcracker
.

Just before Christmas, the family went to the Radio City Christmas Spectacular, a glitzy pageant celebrating peace and love. The show even had a flying Santa, a massive LED screen, and the Rockettes. A good time was had by all, especially the women. Vivienne, Daniela, and his mother Sophia chatted away at a late dinner afterwards, clearly exuberant over the performance.

On Christmas Eve, dinner was at the Rinaldi home, prepared by Sophia’s chef. She raved about the meals her new chef created, and Jacob had to agree. Then Christmas Day was an elegant meal at Tavern on The Green.

The menu started with roasted figs and chestnut soup, then progressed to the main dishes: a choice of ham with roasted pineapple or filet mignon with potato croquettes. Dessert was a selection of petit fours, carrot cake, or eggnog parfait.

Vivienne looked radiant, and was the center of attention. Both Vico and Sophia were delighted to have her join the family for the holiday. It wasn’t lost on Jacob that his mother was tickled that they were so in love, and he was open about his feelings for Vivienne.

During the meal, they all laughed and talked, the spirit of family warming Jacob’s heart. His sister told stories about doing makeup in the fashion industry, which was a lot more challenging than he imagined. Then his parents brought out pictures of Sardinia, and his father raved about the wines there.

Opening gifts was a big production, just like it had been in his youth. There were scarves, jewelry, music, and books, so much changing hands that Jacob couldn’t keep track. But he wouldn’t forget the look on Vivienne’s face when she opened the present he’d bought for her.

Jacob had given it a lot of thought. He wanted it to be romantic, yet had so little familiarity with such things. He had an idea, but consulted Meg, who agreed it was a good choice. And so it was. When Vivienne opened it, she got tears in her eyes.

She lifted out the shadow-blue fox fur cape from a Harrods of London box. She slipped it on, and opened up the front to show off the pure silk lining. Then she ran her hands over the lovely fur that faded through a color palette of snowy whites and silvery grays. The sales clerk had boasted to Jacob that it would make a glamorous cover-up for winter days, as well as evening events.

By the way Vivienne was hugging the fur, Jacob thought she might wear the cape every day. “It’s so beautiful! I love it!” And Jacob breathed a sigh of relief. It was difficult to know what to get a woman, especially a woman in love, on Christmas of all days. But it seemed he’d chosen well.

Vivienne gave him a Donegal wool blazer that fit like it was tailored for him. Jacob put it on, and walked around to model it. “This is great,” he said, rubbing his palms over the Irish fabric. He gave her a big hug, once again grateful that she hadn’t opted for a mushy, sentimental gift.

That evening they sat by the fireplace to talk, and stayed up very late. The next morning, Jacob scheduled the jet to fly them to Decatur, where they repeated the holiday ritual with Vivienne’s parents.

Joseph and Irene gave them a warm welcome, beaming at each other over their first Christmas since getting back together. For another couple of days, they ate great food, traded gifts, and enjoyed the warmth of family. It turned out to be one of the best Christmas holidays that Jacob could remember.
