Nephilim are stronger than the average human.....Onlymale Nephilim were born to the
womanof the earth but there have been rumours of Nephilimwoman.....Some Nephilim

are born with abilities passed on from their Fallen fathers.....
I pushed the pages away across the counter. I hadn't realised my breathing had become erratic I was
on the verge of freaking out, this was stupid there was no way any of it was true it couldn't be cause
it would mean my brother was a Nephilim and his father was a fallen angel, then what did that make
me?
My cell vibrated loudly against the counter top and I jumped from the sound. I quickly reached over
and looked at the screen. It was a message. I unlocked my screen and opened the message, it was
from Micah.
I'm outside.
I automatically looked out the kitchen window, the blinds were rolled up and it looked pitch black
outside. I checked the time on the message it read 2.10am sent a minute ago I couldn't believe it had
got so late so quickly.
Now I was panicking had Micah found out I was at the club, is that why he was here?
I looked back out the kitchen window checking for any movement outside wondering if he was
looking at me right now?
I found my hoodie hung up in the hallway and slipped my high tops on. I was dreading this he'd
probably spoken to Beck and come straight here there's no other normal explanation as to why he
was hanging around outside waiting to talk to me.
I peeked round the the net curtain on the small window next to the front door, Micah was sitting on
the front steps. I unchained the door and managed to figure out the the two door locks before I was
able to open it. He looked over his shoulder at me, it looked like he was checking me over to make
sure I was all right but he looked angry. I sat down next to him on the other side of the step.
“What are you doing here? It's the middle of the night,”
“Where have you been tonight?” he asked kicking a stone of the bottom step.
“I've been here,”
“All night?” he asked.
I looked at him wondering how much he knew and was I really going to lie to his face?
“Yes all night, we watched TV for a bit ate pizza watched a movie, painted our nails talked about
boys or would you like more details? Why are you asking me this?”
“Are you lying? Cause if you are everything we've been trying to keep you away from, you would
have just walked straight into tonight,”
“I don't know what you're talking about. I've been here all night.”
“You're going to get yourself into trouble especially if you're not telling me the truth. Now I'm
going to ask you again where were you tonight?”
“I was here all night, you can ask the girls they'll tell you the same thing.”
He looked down at my shoes then back at my face.
“What you don't like my shoes? Their not that bad a girl in my year has the exact same pair and
now with my hair changed we look almost identical.” I said casually pulling at the laces hoping he
would believe it.
He stood up and frowned at my shoes.
“Was there anything else?” I asked.
“Are you coming home tomorrow?”
“Yes for a bit then I'm going over to Caitlin's for her sleepover remember,”
“Let me know when you need a ride tomorrow and you better be telling the truth,”
“Yes I was here all night for the one hundredth time. You still haven't told me what this is about?”
“Best if you don't know, I obviously heard wrong and this was a misunderstanding.”
The front door opened and Aimee stood there wrapping her dressing gown round herself.
“What's going on?”
“Nothing, Micah was just leaving.” I stepped past her into the hallway.
She didn't say anything else to him, she just closed the door on him instead.
I walked into the kitchen and saw the book still open and the pages cluttering the worktop. Aimee
held her hands up in the air.
“I don't want to know what's going on it's none of my business but if you want my advice he's
trouble and I don't mean hot guy running from cops kind of trouble,”
“Then what kind do you mean?”
“I just think you should be careful and not get too involved with him.”
She walked over to the counter and gathered up the pieces of paper and put them back inside the
book. “I told Caitlin to stop looking at these online websites, they're going to mess with her head.”
“You think it's a load of rubbish too?” I asked.
She looked down at the book and didn't reply.
“Aimee. What is it? Wait do you believe all this?” I asked.
“I think there's a lot of people that have they're secrets in this town, including Micah,”
“What do you mean?”
“This is probably going to sound really crazy and out of the blue but, Micah hasn't changed much?”
“What are out talking about?”
“When I was little I think I was around four my mom took me to Copeland Harbour to the fair one
night, it was right after my dad left she was trying to take my mind of it I suppose. Well I was
known for wondering off and I guess something caught my attention and I ended up in the middle
of the street and there was this car that came out of nowhere. I remember panicking looking for my
mom but not having enough sense to get out of the street and then there was this older teen he
pushed me out of the way. I hit the kerb and broke my arm but I saw the boy get hit and flipped by
this car. He hit the ground hard, there was blood everywhere all over the car and street. It's not
something I've been able to forget. He was pronounced dead at the scene.”
“That's horrible,”
“But he's not dead,”
“What?”
“It's Micah. I recognised him straight away when he showed up in Heaven's Point around a year
ago, I'd recognise that face anywhere. I don't think he knows it's me he saved though.”
“Whoa, wait a minute are you saying Micah got hit by a car, was pronounced dead but now he's
miraculous walking around,”
“His body disappeared from the morgue a few hours after it happened.”
“How do you know that? You were four,”
“After I saw him again, I was positive it was him, so I did a little digging and looked into Copeland
Harbour's old newspapers and I found out that the body involved in the accident had gone missing a
few hours later.”
“Maybe someone moved the body for some reason I have no idea why anyone would do that?” I
said confused.
“Or he got up and walked out himself.”
“You're starting to sound like Robbie. He's convinced people are going to start rising from their
graves as zombies and eating everyone.”
“That's just stupid everyone knows zombies aren't real but I think you missed the point I was getting
at. This happened fourteen years ago, sure he's changed his hair and clothes to look a bit older but
he hasn't aged a day. How old did he tell you he was?”
“He didn't I assumed he was around nineteen, twenty maybe twenty one I've never seen him buy
drink though, I don't know?”
“Well I'm not that great at maths but I'm sure he would be in his thirties now, Micah doesn't look a
day past nineteen. Have you ever seen his drivers licence?”
“No. But maybe he aged well,”
“Or maybe dead people don't age.”
“Micah's not dead that's insane,”
“Then what is he? Cause I know what I saw there's something weird about him.”
“Are you sure it's him? Maybe you think it looks like him. You were very young,”
“I'm sure I've never forgotten the face of the person that saved my life and it hasn't changed.”
“Well have you asked him about it?”
“No off course not he'd just deny it, cause it would give away the fact he's not, normal.”
“So what do you think he is?”
“I dunno but this is Heaven's Point you've heard what the old people say about this town, maybe
some of it holds some truth,” she said looking at me. “See I told you it would sound crazy.”
“Have told Caitlin about this?”
“No she doesn't believe any of it, she thinks her grandma Dorrie is a crazy old lady that spends to
much time on her own knitting.”
“Maybe she isn't crazy,” I said.
Aimee shrugged. “You coming to bed?” she asked.
“Yeah I guess so, well I'm going to try and sleep but it's going to be hard seeing as you've just
flooded my brain with more random thoughts like how old Micah really is? I'm never going to get
to sleep now.”
She grinned at me.
“Why are you grinning?”
“Well you know what you have to do,”
“No but I'm sure your going to tell me,”
“Do a little snooping, you're probably the only one that's going to get close enough to look in his
wallet to check his date of birth, then you can let me know cause it's been really bugging me for the
last year. I know I'm right,”
“And if you are right?”
“Then maybe Grandma Dorrie isn't as crazy as she seems.”
“I can't believe we're having this conversation at two in the morning,”
“Come on I have this smelly lavender spray, you spritz it on your pillow, it will help you sleep.”

Chapter Nineteen

I was waiting on Aimee's front steps when Micah pulled up in Seth's truck.
I got in and shut the door, I didn't think I shut it any harder than normal but the wing mirror swung
down and fell off.
“Whoops!” I said looking at Micah's annoyed face.
“Seriously, could you be more careful?” Micah said getting out to fetch it. He then got back in and
threw it onto my lap.
Micah didn't say anything to me and I didn't want to sit in silence so I switched the radio on and
searched for something I liked.
“Really you can't find anything better?” he said referring to my choice of music.
“All he's doing is screaming that's not even singing.”
“I like it, his words speak out to me,”
“How do you even know what he's saying when all he's doing is screaming and I'm not even sure
that's a guy screaming?”
“Well I like it but I guess it's a bit too modern for you. I suppose you prefer something a little
different, maybe something older. Any particular classics or time period you like your music from?”
“I like rock music. The 80's were good and the 90's had some great bands.” said Micah.
“The 80's huh, were you born in the 80's or 90's? So you would have been a baby or toddler?”
“I can't listen to this anymore,” he said changing the radio station ignoring my question.
I held the wing mirror up looking at my face, I wondered why it looked like I had mascara on when
I remembered removing it last night and I hadn't replied any today. I scrubbed at my eye but nothing
was coming off, somehow overnight my eyelashes looked darker and fuller maybe it was something
in the water round here I hadn't changed anything else in my diet. I realised Micah was watching
me.
“What?”
“Nothing,” he shook his head and looked forward.
When we arrived home Seth was munching a bowl of cereal in front of the TV.
“Did you have fun last.....wow you look different. Did you change your hair?” he asked.
“Funny,” I said pulling my hood down and shaking my hair around. “Aimee did it last night.”
“Yeah your hair looks different as well,”
“I'm going to have a shower, then I have homework. Then I'm going over Caitlin's tonight.”
Micah sat on the couch next to Seth and I carried my bag upstairs but when I shut the bathroom
door it was as if I hadn't left the room. I could still here everything they were saying.
“Seth's she's changing and it's becoming obvious I think even she is noticing, you need to tell her,”
“I know, I know I'm just trying to figure out how I'm going to tell her.”
“Maybe she wont be as shocked as you're expecting her to be.”
“Why you think she knows something?”
“I think you need to talk to her and then I need to take her home as soon as possible.”
“Why?”
“I just think it would be best if she went home.”
“You told me she wasn't safe at home that's why we bought her here, the whole car accident thing.
It's the reason I wont let her drive the truck even though she reminds me what a good driver she is
everyday.”
“She changed her hair and the visions changed. I don't think she's in danger of having a car accident
anymore.”
“Then why cant she stay, Micah is there something your not telling me?”
“No, it's nothing really,”
“Micah if it has anything to do with my sister I want to know,”
“Okay but don't get all worked up, I may have left out a few things I've seen in other visions
because I was hoping to avoid them which I think we have up until now.”
“What are you talking about? You had more visions that involved my sister?”
“Just one or two straight after the first one.”
“Well what were they of?”
“She gets taken by someone,”
“What! who?”
“I don't know I can never see their face, it's like it's all blacked out. There's this big warehouse and
there's a fire which I think Jessie gets caught up in it but I can't piece it all together and I keep
seeing this black van. If she stays here any longer she's might get herself into trouble especially if
she lies about what she's doing or where's she going. She needs to go home and I don't think I can
keep those two apart for much longer. So either tell her soon or write her a letter I don't care either
way she needs to leave.”
“Wait, keep who apart? You just blurted that bit out then skipped over it,”
“Jessie was apart of the visions, he gets caught in the fire trying to rescue her or some other girl it's
not entirely clear.”
“What's that got to do with keeping them apart? You're talking about keeping Jessie and Ruby apart.
Am I missing something?”
“Some other parts of the vision involve those two, they get involved with each other she follows
him to the club one night and that's when I think one of the fallen sees her and wants to take her.
But it's fine because I've kept those two apart which means she hasn't been sticking her nose in
places it shouldn't be. So it's all been diverted up until now, but just to be on the safe side I think
you should send her home. Now.”
“What do you mean by they get involved?”
“From everything I just said that's what's bothering you? Do you really want to know?”
“No probably not. She hasn't mentioned anything about a Jessie, she's said the name Robbie a few
times and I think I heard a Mike or something like that. Do you know who that is?”
“I think they're both kids from school. So nothing to panic about.”
“What am I going to say to her she's not going to leave I think she actually likes living here now.”
“Maybe the truth would be best, just explain everything to her.”
“When can she come back?”
“I don't know, maybe when the vision changes, I just keep seeing the same thing at the moment.”
“Does she have to go back straight away can't she stay for a few more days, maybe take her back
Monday then I can spend tomorrow with her, she's at some friends tonight.”
“I guess a few more nights should be all right. I'll just have to keep a closer eye on her and no one
knows she's staying here apart from us, Jessie and a few girls from school. So she should be fine
until Monday.”
I tied my hair up in a clip and stepped in the shower wondering who on earth Jessie was? And what
Micah meant by me changing?
I hurried as quickly as I could not wanting to miss they're interesting conversion but it had switched
back to normal stuff and they were talking about painting the cabin by the time I had finished in the
shower.
I went down stairs and Seth had his work bag slung over his shoulder.
“Going to work?”
“Yeah no time off this weekend I'm afraid. So I will see you tomorrow when you are back from
your friends.”
“Yes I'm at Caitlin's tonight, just another girls sleep over.”
He walked out the front door and I picked up the TV remote flickering the news channel on.
“What are you doing?” Micah asked. “You hate the news channel,”
“Just checking if there's been any recent murders or if the knife crime rate has gone up just the usual
you know seeing how it's not safe for me to be here anymore. Don't suppose you've heard anything
about any recent kidnappings?”
“What?”
“Yeah I heard everything you two were saying all the way from the bathroom can you believe it, but
maybes that's because I'm changing. What did you mean when you said I was changing?”
Micah's cell started ringing.
“How convenient.” I said.
“What she's there now? Okay I'll be right there.” He hung up and walked out the front door. I
followed him.
“What do you mean I get taken? Taken by who?”
“Ruby not now, I have to go,”
“Don't you think you should of mentioned this before? I thought you were meant to be keeping me
safe?”
“I have, it's all I've been doing is trying to keep you safe,”
“Well what about this person that's meant to take me what do they look like? When will it happen?
Can't you stop it from happening you're the one with vision things. I don't want to go home.”
“It doesn't work like that I can't see everything and this vision is different I never see who takes
you, you just vanish into thin air. One minute your standing next to this black van the next you're
gone.”
He climbed into his truck and I walked round to his door. “I don't want to go back, this is my home
now,”
“But it wont be your home for much longer if you get kidnapped. Going back is the only way to
keep you safe. I have to go. I'm sorry Ruby.” he said shutting the door. I stepped back as he reversed
out and pulled away.
I sat on the porch steps thinking about everything. What was going on with me what other secrets
was Micah hiding?
I needed answers, maybe Aimee was right if I wanted to find anything out about Micah I would
have to go looking for it. I remembered Micah had written his address on a notepad in the kitchen, I
looked over at Seth's truck, the keys were in a bowl near the front room.
I searched through the drawer I remembered I had last seen the notepad in, I found it buried at the
bottom. I flipped through the front pages but the address was gone, I doubled checked again going
over each page making sure I hadn't missed it but a few pages had been torn out since. Frustratedly
I shook the notepad and a loose piece of paper fell out and drifted to the floor. I crouched down and
picked it up. On the back was an address. It wasn't the one I was looking for but another address
scrawled out in Micah's scruffy handwriting.
