“Oh, Clay.” The tears streamed down her
cheeks then.

“Don’t cry, babe.”

“I can’t help it. You don’t know how happy
you’ve made me.”

He grinned. “You don’t look happy.”

She started laughing, even as a tear dropped
on the table. “I am…because now I know I can have it all. I don’t
have to settle.”

He pulled her close, holding her tightly. He
would never let this woman go. After a minute, she kissed his neck
and then tilted her head. After several kisses, Clay could tell
they were both feeling full of desire, something he suspected would
never change. She did it for him like no other woman, and he wasn’t
going to will the hard on away. As she started pulling up on his
shirt, his lips touched her neck like a feather. “So, who do you
want? Clay or Jet?”

She started giggling. “You silly. I prefer it
best when you’re both.”

“Both?”

She kissed him again, running her tongue
along his lower lip. “You know that no matter how hard you try, you
really are both Clay and Jet?” He felt his eyebrows start to raise
on his forehead. “Oh, sweetie, I know you think there’s a big
difference, but there’s not. Not to me, anyway. And I love every
little thing about you. You are sweet and hot and bad when you want
to be, and I love you every single way you are.”

“You little devil.”

“It’s okay. Your secret’s safe with me. I
guess my question is who do
you
want to be right now?”

His lips turned up in a smirk. “That’s gonna
be a surprise. Why don’t you change into something sexy and meet me
in the music room? Then I’ll sing you the completed version of that
song I wrote for you, and you can tell me who I am.”

“I’ll tell you exactly who you are. You are
the only man for me, and I’m never gonna let you go.”

That was music to Clay’s ears if he’d ever
heard it.

secret, that he’s a drummer for a heavy metal band, and falls hard
for him…just in time to find that, between his questionable friends
and psychotic maybe-ex-girlfriend, he might not be the right guy
for her. But her heart beats like a drum for him, and she finds
herself willing to play with fire to get closer.

The character Nicki developed out of Jade’s
need to read a strong heroine, and do we mean strong! Nicki has a
sailor mouth and can keep up in that department with her
rough-and-tough best friend, Sean Ramsey. And don’t get her started
talking about sexual freedom. She’s all about it. Granted, it
stemmed from a lost opportunity at love (with said best friend),
but she appreciates sex as much as any man ever thought of. She’s
still finding her way through life too, but she’s figuring it
out.

Nicki Sosebee wants her first headline, but
she doesn’t want it to read “Reporter found dead.”

Nicki Sosebee has been working low-paying
jobs ever since she finished school, but now that she’s older, she
wants more. She’s a novice reporter trying to learn the ropes. Just
as she’s getting her career goals on track, though, her love life
gets worse and worse. Sure, she has no problems picking up
good-looking guys for brief flings, but relationships? Out of the
question. Maybe it’s because Sean, her gorgeous best friend, just
can’t see her as more than a buddy. So when Sean encourages her as
she pursues her first headline-producing story, Nicki realizes that
her life’s pretty sweet…if only she can live long enough to see
tomorrow’s front page.

Samantha Paulson, Attorney at Law, finds it
hard to concentrate when new client Ryan Craig sits on the other
side of her desk. She finds herself immediately drawn to him
against her better judgment. She is torn between her career and her
feelings for him. If she follows her heart, she could have the

words that really don’t fit elsewhere and certainly can't stand
alone. A mixture of poetry, short stories, and bite-sized nuggets,
Quickies is full of small stuff that won't consume an entire day of

there’s also a bonus for fans of Jade's book Bullet—all the stories
she wrote for fun for blogs (as well as one deleted scene) are also

want it slow and steamy, but other times you want it super-hot,
