“She’s wetter than a stream after a hard rainfall, Dav.”

Now she never could make them believe she didn’t want their cocks, since every thrust and rub elicited a moan or a groan.

Instead of verbally answering, Daven wedged in another finger. The quick pinch of tightness disappeared as soon as he opened and closed his fingers, stretching her darkened channel. He must have hit a series of nerves because her ass exploded with need. She never would have thought she’d like something back there. From the fact those two fingers were almost more than she could handle, there was no way a cock could fit.

When Daven withdrew his fingers and switched places with Breck once again, she was convinced he could read her mind.

“Kitten, I’m not hearing you beg for my cock. What do I need to do?”

Chapter Nine

Julia got up on her knees and couldn’t help but lick her lips when Daven grabbed his purpled cock and waved it front of her. From the way his mouth was half open and his heavy lids drooped, he was on the edge.

She grinned. “Lick me and then fuck me.”

As Daven got on his belly, Breck placed his chest against her back and enveloped her tits. His warmth shot downward.

“Lean her back and let me do her justice, Breck.”

In a flash, she was on the sleeping bag with her legs spread wide. Daven must have been really desperate because not only did he lick her clean, but as he flicked her clit, he pressed three fingers in to her wet pussy, electrifying her with sparks of blissful pleasure.

She wiggled her hips and bucked up, needing a cock.

“Fuck me, now!” She hadn’t meant to yell, but her insides were near to bursting as her body quivered with carnal desire.

“Let me place you on your side and get behind you while I fuck your pussy. That way you can lick and suck Breck’s cock, which looks near to bursting to me.”

She didn’t care if they strapped her to the top of the tent. She needed them now. They were like a drug that she’d gone too long without. Once more they shifted positions.

She heard the snap of the condom, but had no idea where Daven had it stored. Once on her side, Daven lifted her top leg and nudged her open with his throbbing cock. His top hand found her tit. As he twisted her nipple tight, he thrust into her. His growl intensified as he pounded her pussy over and over again, sending her to the precipice. The lovemaking was fast and intense, and she loved every second of it.

Breck slid on to his side, grabbed the back of her head, and pressed his cock to her lips. “Suck me, babe.”

He didn’t have to ask twice. With her free hand, she grabbed his cock and squeezed him tight as she engulfed as much of him as she could. She loved his sweet and tangy taste as his pre-cum surfaced. Swirling her tongue around him, she lifted her head and then sank down. His growls matched Daven’s.

“God, I love your pussy, kitten.”

The pressure on her nipple tightened the harder he thrust into her. She wanted to keep from climaxing, to savor being with her men one more time, but her body had other ideas. All three of them seemed to be on the edge, so that when Daven’s dual pricks stabbed her neck, causing heat to flow straight in to her body, she lost it.

The overpowering thrill grabbed hold and tossed her high into ecstasy. Her orgasm bombarded her with such joy and overwhelming bliss that lust rushed through every vein in her body. She pumped her hand harder and thrust back her hips. Daven held still and shot his hot jism into her. Sealing her lips as tight as she could, she sucked on Breck hard. It only took one or two more pumps for him to detonate.

He gripped her shoulders and pressed his cock deep against her tonsils. Just as she was about to gag, he withdrew and let her swallow.

Daven pulled out, and from the noise behind her, he was probably looking for a towel. A water bottle unscrewed, and a second later, he lifted her leg to swipe her clean. “I don’t think I got to play with your tits enough.”

She laughed. “I think you’ve both had enough. How about starting a fire and making some dinner.”

Breck pushed the hair behind her ear. “You’re right. It’s getting cold. As much as I hate to say it, you should probably put on something warmer.”

“You plan on taking off my clothes again later?”

“Oh, babe, I am so ready to go another round.”

For the next few days, Julia floated on cloud nine. She didn’t want to be so happy. In her heart, she knew she needed to cut it off with the men. If she got too entrenched, it would be her luck that they’d say they’d spotted their mate and couldn’t be with her even if they wanted to.

Since she was due to work at Delight’s Drinking Emporium for the afternoon shift, she put on makeup, grabbed a thin coat, and headed out to work. Mario was working the counter when she waltzed in, and she slipped next to him.

“I thought Jeremiah was working today.”

“He’s up at Panther Cove.”

That wasn’t good. He was retired. “I hope it isn’t anything serious.”

He smiled. “Everything’s fine. Kind of.”

She didn’t like the
kind of
part or how his brow creased. “I bet Kendis isn’t happy.” She was fishing, but she needed to know if Breck or Daven might head in to battle.

“She never said, but she understands that part of Jeremiah will always be loyal to the cause. Hell, if they needed me, I’d fight.” He held up a finger. “Temporarily, that is.”

Since no one was at the counter, she turned her back to the two people sitting by the window and kept her voice low. “Did they ask for his help?” If he went back to work for them, she knew it would kill Kendis, or at least she assumed it would.

“They need his expertise. He’s a brilliant strategist as well as an amazing defender.” He leaned close. “Things are getting dicey with you know who. Seems there’s a movement in Philadelphia, and there are rumors about some serious unrest.”

“Breck and Daven were from Philly. Do you know if they’re going to be involved?”

He wiped down the counter. “They’re security. They are bound to be called to action when the time comes.”

That worried her, but she tossed Mario a shrug, not wanting word to get back to Breck and Daven that she was upset. This was just more proof they weren’t the right men for her.

For the next four hours, she failed to stay upbeat. She thought about calling her mother to see what she knew, but what good would that do? It would only cause her more turmoil.

While she’d seen Kendis come in, Julia couldn’t see what her friend was doing with the partition in the way.

“Mind if I talk to Kendis for a minute? I’ll come right back if any customer shows up.”

He smiled. “I’m sure she’d like that.”

She stepped from behind the counter and walked to the other side of the room where Kendis’s counter was tucked in the corner. She was refilling some of the tea tins, and Julia plopped down at the counter.

Kendis smiled. “Don’t tell me you’re going to convert to being a tea drinker.”

She laughed. “No. I just came over to say hi.”

Kendis wiped the crumbs off the counter. “What’s up? How are you and the men doing?”

They hadn’t talked since the rock climbing trip. “Wonderful yet troubling.”

Her friend put down the rag and pulled up the stool. “Spill.”

She told her about her fear of dating anyone whose job was too dangerous. “I saw my mom go through agony every time my fathers went on patrol.”

She shrugged. “What if they are the right men for you? Can you discount that?”

“I don’t know if they even want me. Remember, shifters only mate once in their life. I’m not their mate.”

Her brows furrowed. “What makes you think you’re not?”

That took her aback. “They would have told me, right? Didn’t Mario tell you that you were their mate on the first date?”

“Yes, but I know you’re meant for Breck and Daven.”

She wasn’t even sure she wanted that to be true. “How do you know?”

She smiled. “I’m not saying. I’ll let them tell you.”

Julia was so damned confused. She wanted to be the one, and yet she didn’t. “Aren’t you worried that Jeremiah is back at The Cove?”

“Not particularly. He’s there on a consultant basis only. But should they need him, I won’t stop him for doing his duty. It’s what these men have been brought up to do. Jeremiah did his time and wants to move on, but if he’s needed, he’ll help out.”

“You’re right. Breck and Daven can take care of themselves.” Fortunately, the bell rang above the door, and six college-aged kids came in. She tapped the counter. “Gotta go. Thanks for the pep talk.”

Julia wasn’t sure if it made her feel any better or not. Nor was she certain the men knew she was the one for them. She never should have spent the night in the woods. She knew the moment they touched her tits or pussy that she was a goner.

You want them
.

Sexually she wanted them more than anything, but emotionally all she saw was heartbreak. So far, neither had called her since their adventure. She suspected they were immersed in work and didn’t have time to come over or take her out. That had its pros and cons.

Do you want them or not?

She wished that little person in her head would just shut up. It was all her pussy’s fault. She almost laughed at that concept.

“Julia?”

She jerked her attention back to Mario. He had his hand over the phone receiver. “It’s Daven. Do you want to speak with him?”

She shook her head. “Tell him I’m busy.”

Mario delivered the message and her stomach twisted at the deceit. It wasn’t fair to go out with them if she knew she could never be in a long-term relationship. The next time she saw them, she’d have an honest discussion of her problem. She doubted she’d be as lucky as Kendis in getting either one of them to quit Panther Cove.

Once her shift ended, she headed home, glad she didn’t have to waitress tonight. She had the next two evenings off, but during the day she had to work on her final painting for her college class. She had thought she’d just paint another landscape, like she had for the last twenty classes she’d taken, but something inside her told her to stretch in a new direction.

After all, she’d been taking art classes for the last forty years. She should try something new. Breck’s painting of the lake had intrigued her. Sure, it was raw and a bit immature and lacked the tonal depth of a great image, but the emotion was there. Daven’s had heart.

Curious to see what she could create, she pulled out a canvas and her paints. The first thing she did was sort through the tubes for the primary colors. Breck did his whole painting using only bright, bold pigments. While she loved the pastels, she was determined to change her style. Instead of using a one-quarter-inch paintbrush, she decided on a wider one.

Lastly, she needed to find a subject she had never painted before. She’d painted just about everything around Panther Cove.
Hmm
.

Bingo
.
Panthers
.

While the subject matter wasn’t totally conducive to the intense colors, she could paint the subjects in a glorious background. After much consideration, she decided on two panthers racing around her. The setting would be the summer flower garden at Panther Cove. She didn’t need to be there to know what to paint. The image was firmly in her brain.

Using a light pencil, she began to sketch the outline of the animals. Because she’d never done panthers before, she found an image on the Internet to help with the proportions.

Deciding to paint the background first, she made bold swirls of colors and had to smile at the result. Breck would have been proud of her for trying something new. Instead of painting a picture that looked like a photograph, she wanted to pour more emotion into her artwork rather than technical expertise. The result pleased her.

Her finger cramped before her excitement waned. She knew when it was time to call it quits or chance ruining the picture. Because realism was not the most important feature, she’d made great strides. In fact, with another day of work, she’d be done.

The euphoric feeling didn’t dissipate until long after she cleaned up both her supplies and herself. In fact, she didn’t even want to go to bed, but she knew she needed to.

* * * *

Normally, after she handed in a painting, she’d wave good-bye to her professor, but this time she wanted to see his reaction.

“Ms. Wilson. I have to say I’m shocked.”

She studied his face but couldn’t tell if he was good shocked or bad shocked. “Okay.” She didn’t want to show her disappointment. “I can do another one if you think this isn’t up to my usual standards.”

He leaned the painting against the wall and stepped back. “Are you kidding? This is fabulous. What inspired you to take such a bold step away from your comfort zone?”

Two amazing men
. “I was looking at some other paintings and got inspired.”

“Well, I like the direction. Change makes a person grow. While I can see some hesitation in the strokes when you were painting the flowers, I can see how you embraced the whole color-splash concept when it came to drawing the woman’s twirl.
