I nearly started crying when I saw Blake calling me as I pulled into my parking lot.
“Yes Blake?” I snapped.
“Wow, back already? How was the date?” Blake’s voice had a lilt to it.
“It was fine.”
“Can I come over and hear about it?”
“What?” I was annoyed. Why wasn’t he hanging out with his girlfriend? “Where’s Bridget?”
“Um, Bridget is in NY for a case. I’ll bring popcorn and a movie.”
“Make it popcorn, chocolate, and ice cream, and you’re on.” What the hell. I might as well spend time with Blake.
Blake arrived about an hour later with all the required snacks—and a pizza. He really was the prefect guy. Sigh.
“So tell me about the date?” Blake smiled at me.
“I’d rather not. It didn’t last very long, and let’s just say I can see why that John Stamos look-alike is single.”
“I’m surprised you didn’t stay just for the free meal.”
“Yeah. It’s okay. I may be a cheap date, but Applebee’s is not my idea of fine dining.”
“Applebee’s?” Blake couldn’t control his laughter.
“Yes, Applebee’s.” I burst out laughing as well. Blake’s laugh was infectious, and it really had been a kinda ridiculous date. I couldn’t believe I had thought I was going to be whisked on a plane to Italy. Oh what a dreamer I was. I decided to forget my bad date and just enjoy the time I had with Blake tonight.
“Hey Blake, what should I wear for my coffee date with Shemar Moore tomorrow?”
Blake sighed and raised an eyebrow at me. He mumbled something under his breath, but I couldn’t really hear him. It sounded a lot like, “When will you ever learn, Maggie?”
