Sherry laughed. “I love you Marie. Thanks so much.”

Leaving her breakfast untouched, she rushed out of the room wearing only her bathrobe and rapped frantically on Room 722. When Roberto opened the door she threw herself at him, wrapping her arms around him and showering kisses on his wonderful face.

“Ciao, bella,” Roberto laughed as he closed the door behind them, then wrapped his strong arms around her. “It seems that you are happy to see me.”

“I am so, so very happy,” Sherry told him, a foolish grin spreading across her face. “Of course I’ll move to Florence with you. I would love the opportunity to spend some time in Italy. And I love you.”

It was Roberto’s turn to grin like an idiot. “I’m sorry, what was that? I don’t think I heard you.”

Sherry laughed. “Don’t be dumb—if you want me to say it again all you have to do is ask. I love you, Roberto Zanetto. With all my heart.”

Roberto couldn’t speak as she hit him with the words. He’d given up hope on ever hearing them from her that now that she’d finally said them he could only stand there and savor the moment. Squeezing her tightly, he crushed his mouth to hers and kissed her until they were both gasping for breath.

“I love you too, bella,” he whispered fiercely. “And I will never let you go again.”

Sherry smiled, running her hands up and down his biceps. “Well why don’t you go ahead and show me, big boy?”

“Oh I will,” he growled, swinging her up into his arms. “Believe me; I’ll spend the rest of the day showing you just how much I love you.”

As Roberto carried her off to the bedroom, Sherry laughed and held him close. It looked like there was a happily ever after in her future after all.
