J
ake
, an alpha male, star rugby player and Dean's Lister, happens to be my stepbrother by marriage and also my lover.

A
t first I
hated this golden boy. But we've been through so much together; from an intentional near drowning and him saving my life, to admitting we are hot for each other.

W
e've discovered
ways to please each other six ways from Sunday. But, as my stepbrother, our relationship is taboo.

O

B
ut things didn't turn
out as planned; in fact, they blew up in my face. Afterwards, Jake and I go our separate ways. I believe it's best because my mom deserves to be happy without the drama our relationship brings.

I
settle
into life after graduation. I work part-time with a startup and go to a local community college. I decide while I'm figuring out what to do with my life, this is the best course.

B
ut out clubbing
with friends one night, I run into, The Spence. The Spence and I met at a campus party. I had to put an end to his groping with a twist of his member, to get his attention.

B
ut he's learned
his lesson and we have a blast going out on 'no hands' dates. I wish Jake and I had this kind of fun.

J
ake decides
to play pro rugby in Ireland and gives me an ultimatum. He doesn't phrase it as one. However, it is thinly veiled as an either, or proposition. I don't do well with ultimatums.

I
face
a decision that could have a devastating effect on our newly blended family.

I
have to wonder
... Would it be worth it?

FOREVER: A Stepbrother Romance

A
kiss
that is never tasted is forever and ever wasted.”

Billie Holiday

O
ur parents insisted
we go with them on their second honeymoon to the Maldives Islands. I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to slip away with Jake, without any questions asked.

A
t first
, everything was wonderful. What’s not to like about an ocean villa, powered white sands, fresh seafood and hidden fondling in public?

U
nfortunately
, not everything went as planned. Sure, we had a great time playing footsie under the table. Jake gave my foot easy access when he loosened his pants drawstring, allowing me to slip my toes under the elastic of his briefs. His member squirmed and danced like air being let out of a balloon; only the opposite.

L
ater
, when our parents wanted time alone in the villa, Jake, and I slipped away and wrapped ourselves around each other in a cabana. We watched the waves lap the sand as the sun go down.

S
ounds romantic
, doesn’t it? Well, unfortunately, things didn’t end well. Jake picked a fight with me. He was feeling uncertain about his life’s choices and blamed me. At least, that is how I saw it.

A
fter a big blow-up
, we avoided each other the rest of the trip. I even asked to sit next to my mom, and for his dad, Ben, to switch places with me on the flight home.

M
y mom
and I had an intense conversation; an honest and real back and forth that I’ve been starving for with her. If I had that type of relationship with my mom from the get-go, I would never have tried to kill myself.

I
can’t believe
I uttered those words out loud. Kill myself.

T
hough it has only been
a few months, it seemed a lifetime ago.

J
ake saved
me from myself that time, yet I’d like to throw him in the ocean for what he’s done since.

O
n the flight back
, Jake corners me and says he wants a real relationship; one that means telling his father. Yes, that’s right; Jake told his dad about us.

I
was so shocked
I didn’t know what to do or say.

B
ecause Jake outed us
, I feel so awkward around my stepdad Ben, now. He hasn’t said anything to my mom, and I avoid him like the plague. But whenever our paths cross, he gives me a look that makes me feel guilty. Perhaps he doesn’t mean to. But that’s the way I feel.

I
’m
sure Ben sees himself in a difficult spot now, too. He hasn’t been married to my mom very long, and now he’s faced with this. My mom and I have been cool lately, but after this revelation, everything that we’ve built would be blown to hell.

B
ut secrets
like this aren’t any good. Mom has to be told and told soon. But I have to wait after my high school graduation.

A
lthough I’m
several months past 18 and have completed my credits early, I still have to formalize it with a walk across the stage, with my cap and gown.

M
y mom
even pressed my red gown, which looks like a gospel choirs robe to me. She can’t stand to see wrinkles or creases in anything. Me, I could care less.

T
here is
a knock on the door. It’s my mom. “Come in,” I say.

M
y mom enters
and lays my gown on top of my bed. She uses her hands to smooth it out before she gives me a long hug. And I’m talking a LONG hug. The hug is so long, I wonder if someone has died.

A
re you okay
, mom?”

S
he wipes away a tear
, “I’m allowed to get a little choked up when my only baby graduates.”

I
t’s okay mom
, it’s just a ceremony,” I assure her.

I
t’s not JUST a ceremony
, Sidney. It means so much more than switching your tassel from one side to the other.”

S
he takes
a seat at my desk. “I know you’ve been troubled, Sidney—“

M
om
…”

L
et me finish
. I know that we have a lot to be grateful for, Sidney. The fact that you are here, standing in front of me, alive, well, happy— I can’t tell you the joy it brings me. And when you are ready to tell me who your boyfriend is, I’ll be even more ecstatic.”

I
ca-can’t
…” I stutter.

M
y mom stands
, “I’m not rushing you, baby. When you’re ready, come to me. Okay?”

A
s she leaves my room
, she says, “Jake will meet us at the gymnasium. Hurry up. We don’t have much time.”

I
f my mom
only knew that I’ve fallen for Jake. I want to tell her so bad, but I know her. I know what it will do to her. No, I’ve decided that now is not the right time.

M
y cell phone rings
. It’s Jake. He’s asked something of me. He knows how hard it is for me to say no to him.

My mom and Ben drop me off at the curb of my school. I step out of the car with my pressed gown, cap and high heels that my mom bought for me. They drive off to find a parking spot. These shoes have straps galore with crystal heels. If they were an inch taller, they would look like stripper shoes.

M
y mom has
sucky taste when it comes to shoes.

B
ut this is
such a big deal to everyone here. I try to get in the spirit, even offer a congrats or two to a group of girls I’ve never spoken to before.

Y
ou’re Sidney
, right?” the friendly, but gangly debate team captain asks me.

A
nd you’re
, Deb, right?” I say.

R
ight
. I always thought you’d be great at debate. Wish you had joined the team,” Deb announces.

R
eally
? Why do you say that?” I ask.

B
ecause you’re
good at defending yourself, deflecting, and turning the tables. I’ve seen it a time or two.”

T
hanks
… I think?”

D
eb corrects herself
, “Oh, for a debater, I have a limited vocabulary. I meant it in a good way. You should think about law school or politics. That’s where the fun and money’s at.”

D
eb’s parents
call her over. She gives me a quick wave before she disappears into the crowd.

M
y cap
nearly flies off my head when a group of fellow graduates accidentally bump into me on their way inside. I need to pin it down. I go inside the school and look for an unlocked bathroom.

I
search
for the teachers bathroom down a deserted hallway.

J
ust when I spot it
, I’m yanked inside a classroom by Jake. Yanked is a harsh word. More like pulled inside.

I
’m caught
off-guard just the same. Jake shuts the door behind him and pulls down the paper shade.

C
ongratulations to the graduate
,” Jake says with a wide grin.

Y
ou scared
the shit out of me, Jake.”

D
idn’t
you get my text?” he asks.

Y
es
, but—“

B
ut what
?” Jake says coyly.

T
he ceremony is starting soon
,” I announce.

J
ake sits
on the teacher’s desk and uses his index finger to call me over to him.

I
take
a few steps closer to Jake.

W
e don’t have
much time,” Jake whispers into my ear.

I
rest
both of my hands on his thighs as he grabs my robe and pulls me closer, between his legs.

T
he gown wrinkles
from his touch.

J
ake takes
my face into his hands with firm, delicate kisses on my forehead first, then my chin, then both cheeks, before he kisses me on the lips.

H
e first starts
out with a light peck that quickly turns into a deep, guttural kiss. His tongue slips in and out of my mouth while he sucks on my lower lip.

J
ake pulls
my hair back from the roots while he slightly squeezes the skin under my left breast, near my ribs. This action only tantalizes me more.

D
id
you do as I asked?” Jake moans in between kisses and squeezes.

I
don’t say a word
.

J
ake stands
. With his hands around my waist, he swings me over to the teacher’s desk. I sit on the edge of the desk.

J
ake drops
down to his knees and kisses my toes before he removes my high heels.

N
ice shoes
.”

I
laugh
.

H
e massages
the heel of my foot and my ankle.

W
hy haven’t
I noticed how beautifully arched your feet are until now?” Jake questions.

I
take
this as a rhetorical question as he uses both hands to massage my calf muscles. Jake uses a tight grip to locate the tight knots in my calves and then dissolves them in a matter of minutes.

H
is touch is orgasmic
. I bite my lip to keep from vocalizing the screams my insides are dying to shout.

I
see
his erection grow as he moves up my leg. He spreads my legs apart as he stands. He lifts up the gown to expose my bra and panties.

I
thought
I told you to come without?” he says in a highly sexualized manner.

J
ake massages
my inner thighs using his thumbs to find pressure points, as he moves towards my vagina.

I
t’s so
hard to sit still when the anticipation cripples me.

W
hen he reaches my hips
, his thumbs slip under the elastic of my panties. He brushes past my clit and rubs me in a circular motion.

H
e uses
his right hand to slowly lower me down on the desk until my back is flat up against it. He bends my legs and spreads them.

J
ake then pulls
my hands over my head and holds them by the wrist with one hand, as he removes my panties with the other.

I
coo
with excitement and anticipation; not caring if anyone can hear us.

H
e sticks
his forefinger and index finger into my mouth. I suck them, slip my tongue in between the fingers and gently bite them.

H
e withdraws
his fingers from my mouth and uses them to enter me slowly. He curves his fingers so that he can touch the front portion of my vaginal wall.

I
gyrate
as he synchronizes the in-and-out motion to my actions. I hump up and down and from side to side and squeeze my ass to tighten my pussy.

H
e senses
when he needs to go faster, slow it down, or pause.

W
hen his fingers
are all the way in, as deep as they can go, I raise my hips as he locates my G-spot.

H
e bangs
me with a quick-paced speed that pulsates my insides.

R
ight when I
’m about to come, he suddenly stops.

N
ot just yet
,” Jake says as he removes his fingers from my pussy and pulls my bra up to expose my breasts.

K
eep
your arms over your head,” he orders.

I
do
.
